Author's Note: Honestly, I wanted to make a Hilda fanfic for a bit now. So, I got one with the introduction of a new character in season 3 episode 4, Louise. I honestly thought she did well, and really fitted well into the gang, and I kinda wish we got to see more of her. So, why don't I write a fan version of the series, but in her perspective. Keep in mind, I'm not just fully just using the series, I'm using as a basis for this story, and will try to keep it unique.
Also, yes, I will continue the Owl House fanfic, that's just on hiatus at the moment.
Alright, also, characters, worlds, and story beats belong to Luke Peterson and Netflix. Enjoy.
I never really was known to anyone.
I like to keep to myself.
Now despite that, I was around for a while.
My name is Louise. And this is the first entry of this journal dad gave me. My dad works with Safety Patrol. "Keeping our city safe from evil trolls and monsters alike."
My dad doesn't really believe that.
"It's a big wall, no troll's getting over it," he would tell me if I was ever worried.
So as such, he just works as the bell keeper, never really having to ring the bell… ever in my entire life.
Honestly, I lived on this side of the wall my entire life. I always wondered what was on the other side. What wonders awaits. I never really knew. Hence, why I took up photography. I often take pictures of anything that I find interesting. Butterflies, vittra, birds of all kinds, and more. My dad even started cataloguing all of them.
Still, I wanted to know more. Who are they, and how did they live? Obviously, I wasn't going to find out, but, I wasn't allowed to go out on the other side… the Safety Patrol wouldn't allow, and unfortunately, this is the only job Dad can have, and I didn't want him to risk losing it.
Now, despite living in Trollberg my entire life, nobody really pays attention to me. Some people aren't even aware I exist sometimes. I guess that's because, outside of my Dad, I don't really talk with anyone.
I'm kinda an introvert. I don't really speak unless needed. I often just keep to myself, not trying to start a fuss. I can't handle it really after Mum…
Let's not talk about that.
What I want to talk about was what I saw today.
My dad took notice of my introverted nature, and, wanting me to have some friends, signed me up for the Sparrow Scouts a month ago.
It was fun. I excelled at anything photography related, but still, I had trouble talking. I don't know, I just… never talked to anyone. Besides, they seemed busy preparing for the Annual Bird Parade.
Basically, there was a great bird, called the Great Raven, said to be a messenger from god himself, and each year, there is a great big feast to celebrate him, as well as a parade that the Sparrow Scouts help make. I… didn't really help, but it didn't seem like they needed to.
But then, something happened. On the night the Great Raven was supposed to appear, he didn't for hours. Last time something like this happened, apparently a great plague happened, with barely enough rations to go around.
People were starting to lose hope. But, when it seemed like all was lost, last minute, the Great Raven, with lightning and everything. Honestly, it was beautiful. Seeing this majestic being flying though the sky was amazing to witness.
I took many photos that day. They all were beautiful.
But there was one that interested me.
One with a clear shot of what looked to be a girl with blue hair, boots, a red sweater and a hat, riding on the Great Raven.
That got me curious, as no-one (outside of one kid who remarked, but was quickly shrugged off) had taken notice of this.
I wanted to find out about her.
Who was she?
Why was she riding the Great Raven?
All of these questions were answered…
Tomorrow.
Author's Note: Short chapter, but I felt like this way, I can introduce the character I'm focusing on. Also yes, I did make the bell keeper Louise's dad (hey, he's one of my favourites, and since the Hilda's Dad theory was proven wrong, I feel like this is a good way to preserve him). Also, keep in mind that I'm not just going to be repeating the entire series. There will be some changes, and maybe they won't satisfy everyone, but this is my fanfic, and (as long as I feel like I'm respecting the source material), I can do what I want.
But still, I hope you enjoy it.
