Creatures in the form a phoenix, two white falcons, a cheetah, a green winged horse, a bat, an orange parrot, a komodo dragon, a black and grey colored wolf, a monkey the seemed to be made out of plants and flower, and a jackalope all circled in on a golden dragon.
Aa all of the creatures gotten into their fighting stance, phoenix fried a steam of fire from his beak. while the komodo dragon fried a stream of poisonous gas from her mouth, however gold colored whirlwind came from and engulfed the golden reptile. It then expanded, shooting a wave of a gold colored energy. Despite those liked the winged horse and the parrot flown up and those like the cheetah and komodo dragon that ducked the golden energy send the phoenix back.
Just then, the golden creature looked down and noticed shadows and plants moving closer to his feet. He backed a bit away before he felt a gust of wind slamming into him, though the dragon stood his ground was left standing. The golden creature could hear the bat wasn't too worried about him attacking.
With high-speed, the cheetah dashed for the gold colored reptile. As soon as he gotten about a yard away from his opponent before moving another yard length to the right. He done the same, only backing up at an angel. Needless to say he zipped all around like flies to a carcass.
The golden dragon didn't attack, while behind him falcons flown and blast a white energy beam. The dragon moved out of the beams' way with ease, but all of the sudden, the the fire colored bird flown in, charging from behind. Like a fly to a fly swatter the dragon slammed his tail on the phoenix before said phoenix made contact with any attack.
"Each of you done well." the golden creature said as it lifted in his up and away from the phoenix.
The phoenix gotten up and growled, while he took on a more humanoid form.
"Though I have noticed that some of you are not putting your all into it as others."
"Forgive sensei," One of the falcons said as he and the other animals followed the phoenix turned into a more humanoid forms. "but I fail to see how training for foes that you have not seen in centuries would pose a threat?"
The humanoid dragon sighed as to followed his students, transforming into a more humanoid form, though his was more of an old man like along having a long white beard. "The Oni might be quiet, but the will come in numbers. You twelve have been tasked with the elemental crystals that you wear,"
At that moments, all of the creatures peered down at theirs.
"while also protecting the remaining ten from the Oni until new spirits could be tasked with them."
"Though you're elemental spirits, you're still human spirits. Each of you can come and go, only if feel accomplished on what is needed to be done."
"Who cares?"
The group then looked to their phoenix of the group.
"I bet we take them?"
The dragon spun around, creating a miniature golden tornado, moving and sucking the phoenix up and send him fly out. Once the phoenix landed, the dragon put a tail on him, stopping him from getting up. "You seem that you're not ready face my pinky toe."
The phoenix let out a groan with a defeated face as the dragon pulled his tail away.
As the sensei helped his fire bird student up, the cheetah questioned "Wait? Why do they need to replace us every time we moved on?" scratching his head.
"Though you're are the elemental spirits you're still human spirits. Each of you could move on to the departed realm, only if you feel that you accomplished on what is needed to done.
"Well, I still haven't found what I needed to get done." The phoenix complained.
After the dragon told everyone that they're done with training, they went off and done their own things.
Still in his humanoid form, the phoenix walked up to the orange parrot who, like the fire colored bird took the form of a humanoid form, though hers was a woman.
"Say Amber," Called the phoenix out with a flirty face. "You any plans later?"
"I was planning on hanging out with Sound and Gravity too work on Shadow's powers."
"Oh-uh, cool yeah. I have to do a few things too."
The phoenix with his head hung.
After the two birds went off in different directions, the fire colored bird stroll through the halls still with his head down, as he kept thinking about it. He was about to pass a window, when he stopped. Hoping for some good news, he looked at it and saw a bit of his reflection. He gave tired sigh. The same half bird-half human image, only more bird than human, he kept seeing ever since he was chosen to be the elemental spirit of fire.
Just then, he heard something. He turned wearing a puzzled expression and saw one of the ice spirits moving towards him.
"Agh, what is it now?" The phoenix uttered.
"My apologizes Fire, but you seemed troubled."
"I know that we must stay here and protect the crystals, but I can't shake this feeling like I have to find someone. You've been here longer. couldn't you help?"
"I 'm afraid not. Though I do tend to think about missing pass., I tried not to focus on the past, rather then focus on a better future."
"Agh, despite having all these cool powers," The fire elemental looked down at his hands like wings, clenching them, before undoing that and letting out a sigh. "I still feel powerless."
"Fear not. Our amnesia is only temporary result of our spirits leaving the mortal realm.
"It doesn't feel temporary."

The two bird people perked with questioning faces.
Right as they did, Speed was right in front of them.
"Yo, there's a problem in the room of the elementals. The Oni's and are are steeling the crystals."
