UPDATE: The slots for Lancer, Rider and Assassin are closed. I am only accepting Masters for Archer, Caster and Berserker now. Like I said before, if your first choice is taken, it doesn't mean that you're out of the running. You still may get your second or third picks

01. Family? What family?

"Come on!" A girl with fair skin, wavy light brown hair, and large azure blue eyes struggled against the tight rope that bound her wrists and legs as she stared in terror around the dark room. Her dark jeans were ripped in places, and she just knew that there were stains on her jacket that she would struggle to get out of... if she came out of this alive. "You don't have to tie me up! I'll do what you want!"

Her blue eyes went around the room again, taking in the magic circle that was painted in blood on the floor, only visible because of the candles that littered the room. Why her? "What do you people even want?!"

"You know what we want. Don't be stupid." A man covered in shadows said from the center of the room as he checked over the magic circle. "You have something we want. It's your fault that it's come to this."

The girl bit her lip, staying silent. The man was right. She did know what they wanted. They wanted. They wanted the mark on the back of her hand. The mark itself looked like a sword with a sharp pointed handle, and two simplistic wings on either side of the sword. Command seals. Marks that had sealed her fate from when she was just a child. She knew why they wanted them but... these people blaming her crossed a line.

"My fault?!" The girl spat, glaring hatefully at the man. "I didn't do anything! You're the one who started it with your selfishness!"

"Your parents' selfishness started this!" The man argued angrily. "Those command seals are mine by right! They should have appeared on me, and your parents never should have taken you! You are also mine by right!"

"I am not yours!" The girl snapped back, feeling her anger surge through her. How dare this man claim to own her.

"I'm the only blood family you have left." The man said back. "You are my granddaughter by blood Dorothea."

That caused the girl, Dorothea to pause, hating the truth of it as she glared up at her grandpa. What a way to treat family.

The man took her silence as agreement and turned back to the magic circle. "If your parents hadn't taken you when the command seals appeared, we may have avoided this."

Unlikely. The girl thought glumly as she thought back to that time, she had been young, but she remembered the day her life was ruined clearly:

Twelve Years Ago

"Mommy! Mommy!" Dorothea as a seven-year-old rushed to a woman who looked like an adult version of herself, the woman having wavy light brown hair and azure blue eyes. "My hand hurts!" The girl waved the back of her hand wildly at her mom and the woman knelt down to look, seeing what seemed to be a bruise forming on the back of her daughter's hand.

"Did you run into something again sweetie?" The woman asked kindly, placing a gentle kiss on the small hand and causing the girl to giggle before she shook her head, her long pigtails whipping against her cheeks.

"I didn't! It just started to hurt." The girl said with all the innocence in the world. "Fix it!"

"Hmmmm..." Her mom took a closer look, at closer inspection it looked. "How about this?" She gave the bruise another kiss and pulled Dorothea into a tight hug. "Does that feel better?"

"A bit." Dorothea giggled along with her mom, pressing her face against the side of her neck. "It'll go away right?"

"Of course, sweetie." The woman said picking her daughter up just as a man with dark brown hair and hazel eyes entered the room, looking harried and rushed. "What is it, Gabriel?"

"My father is coming." The man, Gabriel said looking distressed, "Do you want to take Thea somewhere else for a few hours Henrietta?"

Henrietta blinked, no wonder her husband seemed stressed. Gabriel's father was a harsh and cold magus who hated that Gabriel had a close and happy family, choosing to turn his back on his family to marry her, a woman of a much lesser magus family.

"No. No matter what your father wants, we'll face him together." Henrietta said firmly. She would always stand with her husband and refused to shy away from the cold man.

Gabriel looked like he was about to argue but before he could Dorothea reached for him, calling for him happily.

"Daddy!" She called, stretching out her arms to him and he gladly took her.

"Hey there Dori." He said softly. He was about to say something else when he suddenly noticed something, his face paling in horror. "What is that?" He asked horrified.

"Dorothea ran into something and got a bruise," Henrietta explained patiently, Gabriel had a tendency to overreact.

"That is not a bruise," Gabriel said, panic rising in his voice and Henrietta once again looked at Dorothea's hand, going as pale as her husband when she saw it. She blinked, thinking it would disappear but the dark mark on her daughter's tiny hand stayed. It was impossible. She had just looked at that hand only a few minutes ago.

"What is it? What is it?" The young girl looked at her hand impatiently, her azure eyes flying wide. "Oh, it's pretty." She said an amazed smile on her face. She had no idea why her parents were panicking. "Can I do magic like Daddy now?" She asked eagerly, flinging her fingers out as if she could generate a spark.

"What do we do?" Henrietta asked, looking helplessly at her daughter who was starting to trace the pattern of the mark on the back of her hand. Command seals. She couldn't believe it. Her daughter was far too young to have been marked for such a bloody and needless war.

She was just a little girl and no doubt there would be a countless number of people who would love to kill her to rip the command seals away. The first person in line would no doubt be Graham McNeel; Gabriel's father. They both knew he had always been eager to participate in the Greater Grail War and he would steal those command seals away from Dorothea even if it killed the little seven-year-old. They couldn't allow that to happen.

"Pack as much as you can." Gabriel immediately said, jumping to action. He placed Dorothea back on the ground and rummaged through a closet, pulling out a large piece of baggage a second later. Henrietta immediately loaded the luggage with all their clothes, shoving them in quickly but neatly. Everything had been going well until there was a sudden knock on the door, causing both parents to once again freeze.

"I'll get it!" Dorothea's cheerful voice called back to them and they both realized she had wandered out of the room while they were busy. Gabriel rushed out of the room but it was too late, Dorothea had already tugged the door open and was eagerly showing his father the new command seals on her hand, completely unaware of the darkening look on the man's face.

Before Graham could grab onto Dorothea and physically rip the command seals from her skin, flesh, and all, Gabriel unleashed his strongest spell against his father, sending the man flying and crashing into the wall, stunning him.

"Why did you do that?!" Dorothea screamed, moving to run to check on the man when Gabriel scooped her up into his arms, rushing to the car with Henrietta at his heels. As he ran, he cursed Dorothea's lack of a sense of danger and his father's timing. It seemed like fate was acting against him today for his life to unravel in only a few minutes.

"Daddy! You have to check on Grandpa!" Dorothea insisted, squirming as he buckled her into her seat.

"He's fine Dori. We're just playing a game." Gabriel reassured her as he slid into his own seat. Bless his daughter and her ability to love someone who so blatantly hated her even before today. His father never tried to hide his hatred either, so he didn't even know why Dorothea was always so happy to see him.

The small family drove quickly through the streets in silence and finally, some fear seemed to leak into Dorothea's young voice. "Did I do something wrong?" She asked.

"Of course, not sweetie," Henrietta assured her, looking back at her. "You never did anything wrong."

"Where are we going?" Dorothea asked anxiously, even at the tender age of seven she knew that she would probably never see the house they had just fled from again.

"On a vacation," Gabriel answered. "A very long one."

Present Day

That had been twelve years ago, and her parents had constantly moved her around since then barely avoiding her grandfather and the people he hired to find them, it was hard, and at times it had seemed like they had barely been able to scrape by but Dorothea had been with her family and even though she had grown frustrated throughout the years with their constant moving she had loved her parents.

And she did admit that when she really learned what the marks on the back of her hand were she had freaked out too. She hadn't wanted to participate in the Grail War, she didn't have a wish... well she did wish that people would stop hunting her, but that would only be achieved by participating and she still didn't want that.

Her parents had been able to run with her for seven years before they were eventually caught and killed in what looked like a devastating car accident, but Dorothea herself had still been able to escape and run for five more years.

It was actually very satisfying to know that her grandpa had hunted her since she was seven and it was only now when she was nineteen that he was able to catch her with the help of some idiotic muscled goon who had tackled her just outside of a café that she had been working at. Man, that guy had been a jackass.

"Your father didn't just delay my right to your command seals the day he took you and run," Her grandpa's voice pulled her out of her thoughts, and she glared at him. "He also ruined future my future alliances."

"What future alliances? Don't pretend you won't kill me to get these command seals." Dorothea snapped. There was a cold calm in her now. She had been panicking before but now... she was ready for her death.

"I was never going to kill you. Your mother may have been useless and your father a disgrace but you... you were born with amazing magical circuits. By the time you were gone I had already lined up four potential men to be your future husband, each match would have been extremely beneficial to our family. But Gabriel taking you has ruined many of the matches. All but one."

Dorothea paled as he spoke, so he didn't plan to kill her with the process of taking the command seals, but he was hoping to sell her to another family. Death would have been a better end.

"In fact, the last remaining family is still eager to have you as a bride. How do you think I finally caught you? They decided to help me find you finally." Graham explained, looking far too gleeful as he explained this to his granddaughter. "The moment I have what's mine, you'll legally be your future husband's."

At those words Dorothea was unceremoniously hoisted to her feet by people she hadn't seen enter the room and dragged to what looked like a cement bed, struggling all the while. She also noticed that the room had filled with an absurd amount of people while she had been too distracted by what her grandfather was telling her. Had they all come to watch him rip the command seals away?

Screw this. She thought bitterly as the back of her hand began to burn. She would not be used and thrown away by a man she hated. She would not be given to a random man so he could have his way with her. No. If she was going to die. She would rather die fighting.

The burn on her hand became intense as she struggled, digging her heels into the ground as the two goons tried to drag her the rest of the way to the cement bed, she barely even registered the commotion that was happening around the magic circle or the light that was shining from it. Nor did she really pay attention to her grandfather screaming at her, demanding that she stop and relent. Fuck no.

If someone gets me out of this fucking mess, I will gladly fight in this messed up war. She thought and that's when the magic circle exploded with energy, throwing everyone off their feet as the light blinded them.

The idiots who had grabbed her let her go as they were knocked off their feet which left Dorothea to fall unceremoniously on her face, her limbs still bound by rope.

The light was only starting to dim from the magic circle when the screams began. Screams and the sound of flesh being cut into, the sound of bodies falling to the floor sounding behind her.

With some hesitation, Dorothea rolled around to face the massacre that was happening behind her. The nameless spectators who had slinked in before during her grandfather's ramble were all being cut down one by one by a woman seamlessly glided between them and... it was a morbid sight, but the woman was rather breathtaking.

The woman had flowing dark brown hair the color of rich chocolate that was pulled back into a thick braid, flawless fair skin, and intense green eyes the color of leaves in summer. She also wore strange-looking golden armor; it looked like it was a mix between a knight's armor and... something else? She didn't know quite what it was. Under the armor, she wore a long-sleeved white-and-green tunic with gold trimmings and an emerald green skirt that had slits on both sides that reached her mid-thighs, and lastly, dark brown boots that reached her mid-thighs as well.

Dorothea couldn't bring herself to look away from the scene, noting with a small sense of dread and dismay that her grandfather wasn't among the bodies which meant he had somehow escaped. It was only when the woman made her way toward her that Dorothea began to realize what was happening.

This woman was a Servant. Her Servant if the bond that she felt formed between them was anything to go by. Which meant she was an official participant in the Greater Grail War. Fuck. But she could worry about that later, right now, she just wanted to leave this hell hole of a room.

The Servant silently cut the rope binding Dorothea's arms and legs, with a beautiful, gold-gilded sword, the blade itself having vines stitched into the metal near the hilt. "I am the Servant Saber at your service." The woman said, giving her a soft smile as she helped her sit up. "Are you my Master?"

"I-I think so?" Dorothea asked before shaking her head. "No, I am. Yeah." Was this shock? The events of the day or maybe even the past twelve years were really starting to catch up to her.

Saber nodded as if she already expected this answer and pulled Dorothea to her feet. "Then Master, shall we leave this place?"

"Hell yeah!" And they could also burn it to the freaking ground. It would also release some of her anger and fear. She had never wanted to be part of the Greater Grail War but now looking at Saber, it was clear that she didn't have a choice.

She just had to hope she would come out mostly in one piece. For better or for worse. Fate really did hate her

Sorry for the short chapter and typos but I really wanted to get this out. And sorry for not showing Saber a lot but she'll appear more in the second chapter!

Let me know what you think in the reviews!

Here is some info on the story and once again you can find and copy/paste the master form from my profile page.

Fate: Bonds of Silver

Summary: The world is on the edge of breaking. But despite that a new Greater Grail War is about to take place but with so much more at stake. With the grail up for the taking, darker forces are making their move to manipulate the war in their favor

Story Info/Rules:

- The Magi society is completely known to the non-magic world in this story and it has caused great conflict between the Magi and normal humans for centuries at the present time, there is a truce between the Magi and other world governments and while it is fragile it is balanced with no side striking out violently against each other and some governments even have nicely balanced contracts with the magi society.

-The world knows about the Magi Society because one of the previous Grail Wars went to hell, and ended very badly. At the present time we are in the Seventh Greater Grail War.

- The year in the story is just going to be 2023. And the war is going to take place in Europe but of course this doesn't mean your Master has to be of European ancestry.

- I would say your Master shouldn't be younger than 15.

- Do not make your Master OC OP.

-Send your submission through PM ONLY and through

-A thing to remember, if your Master doesn't get their first choice Servant that doesn't mean that they are out of the running. They can still become a master to their second or third choice.
