Hi everybody, I felt like writing a little story from the Sailor Moon universe. Of course, like with all my stories, i don't own any rights to the characters. I hope you like this little story.
Scout of the Moon
Princess Serenity sat inside her room. Outside it was dark. The blue form of the Earth hovered in the distance at the sky. The palace of the Moon was silent at this time of the night. Servants were asleep, only a few guards that were part of the night shift were still doing their duty. She was concerned. Contrary to what some of her guardian scouts believed, she was very observant and knew that something horrible was building up its power. Earth was slowly being corrupted by a dark entity. Her beloved Endymion was trying to find out more, but any clue he found only led to more questions. And time was running short.
She knew that she had to do something to not be helpless, should she be confronted by the one behind this. The power she, as the successor of her mother, the Queen of Silver Millennium and current holder of the Imperial Silver Crystal would have access to was going to tempt many an enemy. And contrary to Endymion, who was a trained fighter both with and without weapons, not to speak of her sailor scouts, she didn't have any training to even defend herself. She knew of course that a princess like her had different duties than a scout. She was raised to one day rule both the Moon and all of Silver Millennium.
She knew that this was important as well, but she had realised that this wouldn't be enough if the enemy attacked soon. She would be in danger of dying. If her protectors were drawn away or killed while protecting her, she would be open. She decided at that moment that this was unacceptable for her. She wouldn't be a weak little child that had to hide behind her guards all the time. And she knew just who could help her change this situation. She stood from her bed, a determined look on her face and walked out of her room to go to the ceremonial room, where the power of the Moon could be focused.
Serenity knelt in front of the giant crystal that was said to hold the connection to the souls of all the past Queens of the Moon. She was praying to be heard, concentrating her inborn power to connect with the great Queens. If anybody could grant her a way to become a competent fighter, it would be the past queens. It took two hours, but then the soft-glowing crystal flashed and the silhouette of a woman appeared inside it.
"Princess of the Moon, what is your request?" asked a melodic female voice.
"I wish to have the power to fight as well. While I dislike violence, I am realist enough to know that if I want to have a chance to survive the rising darkness that threatens the Moon and all of the Silver Millennium, I mustn't stay an easy target. I wish to have the power to defend myself and others. I wish to have the power to protect those that can't protect themselves. I want be competent to support the trained fighters in battle, be it by healing their injuries, freeing them of mind control or blocking enemy attacks. And I wish for this power to not be a double-edged sword like the Silver Crystal that Mother wields," Serenity voiced her desire respectfully.
"You realise that this power will come with sacrifice on your part? It will cause you a lot of heartache," asked the voice.
"Yes, I know that. Still, this might be the difference between the destruction of all I love and its salvation," answered Serenity.
"Then it may be. The Moon doesn't have a sailor scout so far, this can be changed. And you have the connection to the Moon to become a scout. Do you wish to do this and become the first Sailor Moon?" asked the voice.
"Yes please," replied Serenity.
She felt a change in her powers.
"You have been granted the ability to transform. But you have to work out how to achieve that on your own. But know, that your power, as it is new, will have to be built up from the ground. It will take hard work, dedication and determination. Otherwise, even this power won't be enough to achieve what you wish for, Princess," explained the voice.
"I understand and I thank you deeply for giving me this chance. I will not disappoint the trust you put in me," she promised.
The crystal flashed again and the silhouette disappeared. Only the soft glow that the crystal always showed was now to be seen. Serenity stood up and smiled. Now she had a chance to survive and protect her people and the people she loved.
Serenity was good on her word to the ancient Queen that had granted her the power to become a scout. She arranged her schedule to always have an hour in the morning to build up her body. She knew that this was important to last in a fight. But she also had to set realistic goals for the beginning. As somebody who had never trained more than basic things to stay in shape, it would take time to reach the level that would allow her to do what she wanted to achieve. If she had tried to overdo things, her muscles would have been overtaxed and it would have only set her back in the end. Thus, steady and constantly expanding was the way to go.
She started with basic running for fifteen minutes, which then extended to thirty minutes after a month of doing it. Then exercises that she had seen the guards do. From stretching after the running part to sit-ups, pull-ups, crunches and more. She kept her training a secret from her mother and the scouts, as she didn't want them to stop her. She knew they didn't believe that she should fight, but after her revelation, she was convinced that this was the best way. Not to mention that she felt good in her body the stronger and fitter she got.
The only one that did find out was Endymion, her beloved prince. And he, while he was surprised and concerned for her, supported her determination to not be a victim in case something happened. He was after all constantly confronted with the worrisome developments on Earth and knew that additional security measures around her were necessary. If she could at least defend herself until better trained help would come, a lot would already be won.
While she worked on her body to be somewhat trained, she also started working on figuring out how to transform into her scout form. The first step was meditation. It wasn't hard, as connecting to the power of the Moon was something her mother had begun training her in, as once she inherited the Silver Crystal and became Queen, she needed to know that skill instinctively.
About a month after beginning her training, she tried her transformation for the first time. To have a bit of support, she had arranged with Endymion for him to be present. As she also wanted to keep her new ability a secret from her mother and the scouts, she had decided to transform on Earth. Here, Endymion knew a few places where nobody would be around to see her first transformation. And she knew that it would send a rush of energy around, which would be detected on the Moon by her mother, should it happen there.
"Ready, Serenity?" asked Endymion.
"Yes. Waiting wouldn't do any good," she replied and collected herself.
She felt for the power of the Moon and then held up her hand in the air.
"Moon power, make up!" she called out and the call was answered by the natural magic of the Moon.
Serenity was bathed in pink and silver light, which swirled around her body. Her training clothes, just some comfortable leggings and a shirt-sleeved shirt, vanished from her body, leaving her naked for a few seconds. It certainly shocked Endymion to see his love naked, even if he liked what he saw. The state was short, as soon after the clothes had vanished, a white scout uniform was placed onto Serenity's body, then a blue skirt and sailor collar, high, pink boots, white gloves and pink bows appeared on the bodice. The last to appear, covering the crescent moon symbol on Serenity's forehead, was a tiara that held a pink jewel in its centre. The same pink colour of the light that had begun the transformation.
When the transformation was finished, Serenity looked at herself. Endymion helpfully handed her a mirror to let her see herself properly.
"It worked," she cheered.
"It did, my Princess, but you should take care of not transforming where you can be seen," he told her.
"Sure, it would be best if nobody knew that I was now Sailor Moon," she agreed.
"That too, but, well," he stammered, trying to find a good way to tell her what he had seen. His cheeks reddened from the memory.
"What is it Endymion?" she asked cluelessly.
"I guess there is no easy way to tell it. At the beginning of the transformation all your clothes vanished and it took a few seconds for the uniform to cover you again," he was very red quickly saying it.
Now Serenity blushed deep red.
"You mean, you saw," she squeaked.
He nodded, looking away blushing, the memory burned into his mind. He would never forget how beautiful his princess was without any clothes on.
She needed a while to work through that part. She knew it was utterly improper for any man to see a woman he wasn't married or related to naked. Still, it wasn't as if they had known this before. Uh, it was still embarrassing.
"I will definitely ensure that I am alone when I transform," promised Serenity once she had regained her calm.
"So, how about you try what the transformation allows you to do now?" suggested Endymion, wanting to change the topic.
"Yes," replied Serenity eagerly, "I should have several abilities. I guess most would be at a low level, as I transformed for the first time and from what Venus once told me, she needed practice to develop the abilities she found when she first transformed."
Endymion nodded and they set to work. The first thing Serenity found out was that her tiara worked as a focus for her power. She could channel her power into it, deciding on how strong it would be. Then it could be used as a thrown weapon, which she had to practice to hit her targets, but the more she tried that, the better she became. Next was for her to learn to change its direction while it was flying. She could have the tiara dodge around an attack for example. Endymion used one of his attacks to see if she could do so. It took a lot of concentration to work it out, but in the end, she could let the tiara avoid being stopped by attacks six out of ten times. With practice that would become better.
She found out that she didn't have a fighting style. That would be one thing to work on the way anybody else also had to learn. Lots of repetition and practice units. Thankfully, Endymion was trained in hand-to-hand fighting and could get her started. Even if she noticed that he was hesitant to attack her. Well, she knew she wasn't ready to battle on his level. And she knew he hated seeing her hurt. Still, better to get some bruises in training than fall in battle.
The transformation strengthened her body compared to her normal self, so that was a benefit. Still, she knew that she was leagues away from the level of somebody that had trained for years like Sailor Venus. But that wasn't her goal. She didn't know how fast the enemy might attack the Moon, if it came to that scenario. What she needed was learning the things that didn't take too much time to be a proper support fighter. She and Endymion agreed that she would come to Earth twice a week to train with him.
And he would see to bring a staff for their next training session, as having another weapon that she could use to fight, with little danger of killing people with it, would benefit Serenity.
It had been five weeks since Serenity had first transformed and the problems with unrest on Earth increased. It was when she sneaked away from her room to train again, that she was followed by one of the scouts unnoticed by her. Today, she didn't plan to go down to Earth for her training, as Endymion was busy with his generals. Still, she had set up a training area for herself to practice her abilities. She left the room in her comfortable training clothes, planning to transform once she was a bit away from the palace to not have her mother detect the energy. When she reached the training spot, she started warming up in her normal form, performed the movements for her fighting style that she was developing in that form as well, as it was more effective for her muscles, and then she transformed to practice with her powers.
When she had worked on target practice with her tiara for fifteen minutes, she heard clapping behind her.
"I am very surprised to find you training this hard and as a sailor scout on top of that, Princess," she heard and turned around, to find one of the outer scouts sitting on a wall that was at the outer part of the target range she used.
"Sailor Uranus," she exclaimed surprised, "What are you doing here?"
The scout of the sky hopped from the wall easily and walked over to her.
"I noticed you sneaking out of your room over the balcony and decided to follow you to make sure you were safe, Princess. Imagine my surprise to find you exercising. Not that I mind, I have recommended that you trained to defend yourself to both your mother and your guardian scouts several times in the past, but was told that it wouldn't be proper for a princess to do so," answered Uranus, "Since when are you a Sailor Scout? I wasn't aware that the Moon even had a scout."
"I prayed to the Queens of the past to grant me the power to defend myself. That was about two months ago. I can only transform though since a bit over a month ago. With the current trouble brewing on Earth, I didn't want to be a sitting duck, as the Terrans would call it. I didn't want to hinder the ones tasked to protect me. I don't like fighting, Uranus, but I want to be able to help and protect my people. I figured that if I could manage to become good enough to be a support type, I would already help a lot. Or if I could heal the ones trained to fight," explained Serenity.
"That's sound reasoning, Princess. Want some assistance?" the older scout asked.
"Really? I would appreciate that, Uranus," agreed Serenity happily.
"What did you manage to work out so far?" asked Uranus.
"The tiara I have works as a focus for my powers. So far, I have managed to turn it into an energy disk that I can throw and direct while it flies. I can choose how much and which type of power I want to push inside. One thing I am working on is breaking through mind control spells, as I heard from Endymion that he found several people behaving as if they were controlled by somebody. I have worked on building up my body strength while untransformed, as I noticed that the transformation boosted what I have in my normal form. Though I train in all kinds of gymnastics, which I figured would be good for dodging attacks, in my scout form. That way I get less injuries. And hiding them would be problematic," listed Serenity, "I have started with a staff, but I'm not far with it."
"A good base for the short time you had," acknowledged Uranus, "Let's start with a fighting style, as that is better learned with a training partner. While I don't come to the Moon that often, I can give you a training schedule that works for the female body. I guess that as you keep this a secret from your mother and the scouts, you have talked to the Earth Prince about this and he helped you get started."
Serenity nodded, not seeing any sense in denying it.
"At least someone that sees the need to do this. Alright. Learning a style takes time, which might not be available in the dimension you will need. Therefore, we will push a full style back and concentrate on bits that are useful for many occasions. Blocks for physical attacks like punches, kicks, sweeps and the like. Punches to retaliate. Kicks to push your opponent away. And contrary to a style, you can learn those in a short time. It won't be perfect and it won't hold up against those that mastered a style, but it will bring you further than anything else right now," explained Uranus.
"I understand," acknowledged Serenity, seeing the reason behind this.
Then Uranus taught her princess how to perform certain moves and let her repeat what she was shown, constantly correcting her mistakes. She was proud to see that Serenity was improving quickly and didn't repeat her mistakes a lot.
Serenity listened to the uproar outside of her home, the Silver Palace. It had come to this, the one thing she had feared. At least she wouldn't be a helpless victim. She heard running outside of her door. Then it flew open and Sailor Jupiter stood there.
"Princess Serenity, you must flee. Earth is attacking us, and their leader is after you!" exclaimed the brunette scout.
"I had feared that it might come to this, Jupiter. I will hurry to get to safety, but I won't be dead weight to anybody," Serenity declared.
"What? Please, Princess, you aren't trained to fight," started Jupiter, but Serenity lifted her hand into the air, like she was now used to doing.
"Moon Power, make up," she stated clearly and was surrounded by the now familiar pink and silver light, only to soon be transformed into the scout of the Moon, "in this form, you will call me Sailor Moon, Jupiter. I have foreseen a situation like this and prepared accordingly. I am no excellent fighter, but I can lend a hand in supporting the ones that are fully trained."
Jupiter stared at her princess in disbelief.
"Let's go. We need to help the others that are fighting to protect the Moon from this attack," declared Serenity.
"Since when are you a scout?" asked Jupiter, quickly running this new situation through her head.
"A few months. I don't have time to explain right now. We are at war," replied Serenity, "And if you don't call me Princess, the enemy might not recognise me easily. There is magic involved in keeping the identities of the scouts secret after all."
"That's true. Alright, Moon, let's hurry," accepted Jupiter. This was strategically sound and might give the princess a better chance to get away.
When they reached the lower floors, Jupiter got separated from Moon and battled against soldiers from Earth. Moon didn't want to stand aside and loaded her tiara with the counter to brainwashing.
"Moon tiara stardust," she intoned and let the tiara soar over the heads of the fighters. It took a while and three times crossing the heads of the soldiers from Earth, but the did get released from the mind control. It surprised the soldiers from the Moon.
"Moon soldiers. Hold them back, then I can turn the tides by undoing the brainwashing on them," instructed Moon.
"I don't know who you are, but you are the one with the ability to give us a chance to win," declared a soldier.
"I am Sailor Moon. I was chosen as the protector of the Moon, but I kept hidden until I was needed," she quickly explained.
The soldiers simply accepted that part and fought back against the newly arrived soldiers from Earth. Sailor Moon stayed at the back of the fighters, using her tiara repeatedly to undo the brainwashing. The ones freed collapsed on the ground and the Moon soldiers left them there. If they were controlled and then freed, there was no reason to harm them.
When the group reached the courtyard, Moon noticed Endymion breaking through the lines of Earth and hurrying over to her.
"Are you alright, Sailor Moon?" he asked concerned.
"Yes, Endymion, I am. Thanks for asking. What is the situation?" she asked, happy to see him not under the control of the enemy.
"I finally found the one behind this mess. It's Beryl, who has gained magical powers somehow. That dark cloud at the sky is connected to this happening. She had Jadeite, Kunzite, Nephrite and Zoisite under her control as well. That witch declared herself a Queen of the Dark Kingdom when the attack began. And nothing I could do managed to break through the spell," Endymion explained in a hurry.
"I can undo the brainwashing with my tiara, but it takes time. For the soldiers inside it took three times having the loaded tiara soar over their heads with my stardust attack to break through the spell. And it is taxing on me. I doubt I could free all soldiers of Earth that way," said Moon, "Not to mention that out here, there is more that could intercept the tiara or force me to change its course. Inside there was less outside influence."
"A problem, but we at least have a chance. I suggest we try to bring back my generals one after the other. They are the strongest fighters of Earth. If they are back on our side, we might survive this mess," suggested Endymion.
"It's most likely our best chance," agreed Moon and the two ran towards the place where Venus was fighting against Kunzite.
Venus was hard-pressed to withstand the attacks of Kunzite. She knew something was wrong, as her counterpart in the guard of Prince Endymion wasn't a violent conqueror. His task was protecting his prince, not attacking the capitol of Silver Millennium. And she had seen that Prince Endymion wasn't part of the army that was attacking the Moon. She had felt that Mercury had fallen. All the scouts of the inner court of Princess Serenity were connected in their magic. When she crossed blades with Kunzite again, she heard the sound of a whip and suddenly Kunzite was captured, which surprised him. Looking along the whip, she was shocked to find Prince Endymion to be the one holding it. Though the much bigger surprise was the unknown scout next to him.
"I can't hold him for long, Sailor Moon, do it," demanded Endymion, while Kunzite tried to break out of the hold.
"Moon tiara stardust," the scout that was called Sailor Moon, called out.
Venus didn't understand what was happening, as there wasn't a scout of the Moon. As the captain of the guardian scouts, she should know. But the attack was released and the tiara circled Kunzite several times, letting some dust fall on him.
"It isn't enough," exclaimed Moon after the tiara had circled three times.
"Let it go on longer. Most likely Beryl used more power to make my generals submit," Endymion called back, concentrating to not let Kunzite escape.
Moon continued and after seven circles, Kunzite blinked and then fell down as if he was a puppet whose strings were suddenly cut. Venus saw Moon drop to one knee.
"Shit, that was exhausting," she stated, breathing quickly and heavily.
"Still, great work," complimented Endymion.
"Who are you?" asked Venus.
"Sailor Moon and we don't have time for explanations Venus, we are still at war," replied the blond scout with twin pigtails, "I will answer your questions if we survive this day."
"Alright, you are right," Venus accepted the truth of the words, then she winced again.
"What happened?" asked Endymion.
"Mars has fallen. That means from the inner court only Jupiter and I remain," answered Venus.
"Shit," cursed Endymion, "They will most likely be fighting the other three generals. Let me see if we can get Kunzite back into the fight, but this time on our side."
Endymion concentrated and laid a hand that glowed golden on his general's head. A minute later, while Venus blocked four more soldiers that attacked the group and knocked them out, Kunzite awoke again. Looking up he recognised Endymion.
"Your highness?" he asked confused, "What is going on? No, wait, did I really do that? What have I done?" exclaimed Kunzite horrified.
"You were brainwashed by Beryl. Sailor Moon managed to lift the brainwashing, but it cost her a lot of strength. We have to stop this attack on the Moon," Endymion explained hurriedly.
"I will do what you need me to do," promised Kunzite, ashamed to have betrayed his prince like that.
The group of four hurried towards where Venus was sensing Jupiter fighting. When they reached her, she was locked in fierce battle with Zoisite.
"Kunzite," ordered Endymion and the general didn't need more and sprang forward, blocking a new attack from Zoisite by tackling him to the ground.
"Kunzite, what are you doing?" demanded Zoisite to know, struggling against his friend's hold. Kunzite was stronger though and managed to keep Zoisite pinned.
"Moon," said Endymion and Serenity nodded and concentrated on her power. She let her tiara fly with the stardust attack and let it circle around the heap of the two generals. This time, it only needed six circles to free Zoisite. Still, it took the last of her strength.
"I'm spent, I won't be able to do that again, today," admitted Moon, sitting on the ground now, panting heavily.
"It's alright. You already were a great help, Sailor Moon," assured Venus the other scout, impressed by her abilities, even if she also realised that this scout hadn't been trained for long. Especially her stamina and endurance would need to be built up, but that could be done in the future, should they survive this attack. But their chances had improved greatly thanks to the two now freed generals of Endymion.
Then they looked at the sky, where a horrible face appeared from the cloud of darkness.
"What is that?" asked Venus horrified, not having seen anything like it before.
"Metalia, the monster behind Beryl's new powers," answered Kunzite, "She informed us directly before the attack started that this monster was the supreme Queen of the Dark Kingdom, which she had founded. Her goal is to destroy the royal family of the Moon to take the Silver Crystal for herself. To become the new ruler of Silver Millennium."
"And she declared that this time, the centre of the empire would be on Earth, where she would rule at the side of you, Prince Endymion," added Zoisite.
Endymion shuddered.
"Never," he declared fiercely, "as if I would ever take that stalker over my beloved Serenity."
Moon smiled happily at the declaration but didn't show more. She knew that right now nobody outside of those that already knew should have the information that Sailor Moon was Princess Serenity.
The group of six made their way over to where the fights continued. Venus and Jupiter disabled several Earth soldiers with their attacks, while Endymion, Kunzite and Zoisite used physical attacks to knock them out. They knew that once Sailor Moon had recovered, she could undo the brainwashing on these people. They didn't want to kill them while they were controlled by the ones in charge of the enemy attacks. They passed the places where Mercury and Mars had fought. It was clear that Jadeite and Nephrite had battled against them and had fallen while killing the scouts. Each of them grieved for the loss but pushed the feelings down. This wasn't the time to mourn their fallen friends. The battle still raged.
Finally, the group reached the place where Beryl was commanding her forces. All of them except for Moon, who stayed at the back to be support with a few weaker barrier techniques that she could just manage to call up, attacked the sorceress fiercely. Contrary to the other soldiers of Earth, she wasn't innocent and controlled. And perhaps, if they could kill her, the brainwashing would break.
"Kunzite, Zoisite, you traitors! How dare you attack your Queen?" Beryl yelled furiously.
"You aren't our Queen!" shouted Kunzite back, "We serve Prince Endymion as his guardian generals. Your brainwashing was broken!"
"Endymion, why don't you see that together we can rule over the world as King and Queen?" Beryl tried another way.
"I would never touch an evil witch like you," replied Endymion coldly, "I am in love with Princess Serenity. I will never take another woman as my wife than her!"
Beryl screamed in fury, but the five attackers didn't give her any time to recover. When she was busy blocking the two attacks Venus and Jupiter had shot at her, Kunzite managed to hit her left shoulder, which made her cry out in pain. Zoisite was thrown back by a magical push, but Endymion was close enough to capitalise the lapse in concentration and took off her right arm in which she held her staff, making her scream in more pain.
Venus now hit her with a crescent beam attack and Jupiter with supreme thunder. Endymion used this for another attack with his sword and hit Beryl's neck perfectly, decapitating her.
"A fitting end for a traitor," he commented.
"Thankfully that was the worst enemy to take care of," sighed Zoisite, who was limping from his hard landing.
They looked around, noticing that one after the other, the soldiers from Earth that were still fighting seemed to wake up. They screamed and dropped their swords to the ground, sobbing horribly. Many repeated how sorry they were. It seemed that Beryl's death had really broken the mind control she had over the people of Earth.
Sailor Moon went over to the group.
"Is it over?" she asked hopefully.
"If it isn't, it will soon be," replied Jupiter.
"I fear how many losses we will have to deal with," said Venus sombrely.
The others agreed with her. Both sides had suffered great losses. The group wandered around, with Endymion telling the ones that weren't totally unresponsive over their involvement with the attack that they were to help with treating the injured on both sides. When they reached the entrance of the palace, they found Queen Serenity there, crying for the victims of this totally unjustified attack. She was also searching for her daughter, who hadn't been seen at all during the attack.
"Princess Serenity is safe, Queen Serenity," stated Jupiter, not telling the secret. Not because she felt the Queen shouldn't be told, but because anonymity would be a great protection for the princess. And many would hesitate to attack a sailor scout openly. There would be time to explain the situation once things had calmed down and the injured were treated and the dead buried.
"Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus," she exclaimed, then looking at Moon, not knowing her.
"My name is Sailor Moon, Queen Serenity," she introduced herself, "I was given my power to aid the defence of the Moon when your ancestors decided that every additional fighter in case things came to the worst would be invaluable."
"Sailor Moon has the power to free other people from mind control magic. She is the sole reason Zoisite and I were freed from the spell Beryl used to control the people of Earth, Queen Serenity. I am deeply ashamed to not have managed to resist the magic on my own powers," admitted Kunzite.
Overhead they could hear the monster Metalia raging.
"We still have one enemy left to deal with," stated Queen Serenity, "this monster mustn't be allowed to remain here to poison another mind that is plagued by dark emotions."
"How could we manage that?" asked Moon.
In response, Queen Serenity took out the Crescent Moon Wand and connected the Silver Crystal to it.
"Right now, there is only one way. I must destroy it with the full power of the Silver Crystal."
"But that will kill you!" protested Venus.
"You can't do that!" Moon also exclaimed.
"My duty as Queen is to protect the people of Silver Millennium. This monster would consume all of our life energy over time if left alive. My life isn't worth all lives of our solar system. And I can also work a spell to allow those that gave their lives in this battle on both sides, in this senseless war, to be reborn in the future. To have a second chance at a happy life. I will include all of you as well, to one day see your friends and loved ones again," declared Queen Serenity.
She looked at Sailor Moon, and at that moment, Moon knew that her mother knew.
"Please don't go," she pleaded.
Queen Serenity smiled sadly.
"That option isn't one I can take. I know you will all work together to rebuild. And this isn't a complete catastrophe. The people of all planets of the solar system have the chance to rebuild what was destroyed. Earth and Moon can come together. I give my blessing to the marriage of Prince Endymion and my daughter Princess Serenity. Because to heal the wounds in the hearts of all people, we will need unity and love. Take care of each other," she looked at Endymion and Serenity, who nodded, the latter with tears in her eyes.
Queen Serenity turned towards the monster in the sky.
"Power of the Moon, I command you to destroy this evil force and to bless the souls that aren't consumed by evil to be reborn into a hopefully more peaceful future," she intoned and then the Silver Crystal on the wand shone brightly, attacking Metalia, clearly breaking down the monster's defences, until it was completely destroyed and exploded.
Queen Serenity grabbed her chest over her heart. She sank onto the ground, her back supported by a wall, which had lost its upper part. Her daughter, still in Sailor Moon form knelt next to her.
"Sailor Moon, please hand this wand to my daughter the next time you see her," asked Queen Serenity, "I want her to know that I love her and I wish the best for her."
"Yes," replied Serenity with tears in her eyes, "I love you too, mother," she added in a whisper that only the dying woman could hear. She took the wand and held it securely in her hand.
Queen Serenity smiled before she died.
Everybody around shed tears over the death of the beloved Queen of the Moon. This was the end of an era. A horrible price paid in the war. But there was still hope. Despite the losses, their kingdoms could be rebuilt.
The only ones to be told about Serenity's new ability to become Sailor Moon were Sailor Venus, Kunzite and Zoisite and they swore to keep that secret. While Venus and Jupiter weren't happy to not have known about it before, they could understand why their princess had decided to go this way. And she had played a deciding role in the war, freeing numerous people from the brainwashing. Without that, Venus and Jupiter feared that they would have died against the two generals and would have killed them in turn. They preferred the alternative.
Endymion and Serenity announced their engagement all over the Silver Millennium and declared their intention to marry within the next three months, to then rule together over the expanded Silver Millennium. Though they would split their residence between the palace on the Moon, once it was fully repaired that was, and the palace of Endymion on Earth. Endymion's parents had been some of the victims of Beryl when she took over control openly. Their power over the planet was a threat to her ambitions and therefore, she had them assassinated before the attack on the Moon started. Endymion and his two remaining generals grieved for them as well as all the other victims of this senseless war. A war that was only started because one woman couldn't be satisfied with the life she had. Couldn't accept that Endymion had chosen another woman. And he had never even shown her any interest at all. He was at most polite when he met her coincidentally.
The dark magic used to enable Beryl's plans was thankfully completely purged when Endymion and Serenity united their powers of the Silver and Golden Crystals. Thanks to the priest Helios, who informed Endymion about the special powerful crystal of Earth that was protected by the royal planetary family, Endymion could access the Golden Crystal and use it carefully. Like the Silver Crystal, it bore the risk of dying if too much of its power was used.
The wedding was held on the Moon, as it was the capitol of Silver Millennium. Serenity and Endymion were wedded by Helios and the spectres of several people that had died in the attack appeared around, among them Queen Serenity, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Jadeite and Nephrite. While they didn't speak, their smiling faces told that they were happy for their friends and family. The outer scouts also attended.
Once the two were wedded, their coronation took place. Here they were crowned King and Queen of a united Silver Millennium. The guests cheered when the coronation was finished. Everybody hoped that they would rise from the dark past into a bright future.
Ten years later
Serenity watched her twin daughters chase after their brown dog. Both girls were four years old and had been born from her second pregnancy. Her marriage with Endymion was wonderful. She was incredibly happy and loved him deeply. Two years after their marriage they had had their first child, a boy that they called Mirias. Their twin girls were called Stellaria and Luciana. Or for short Stella and Lucy. They had discussed names, but both felt that with the new beginning for Silver Millennium, it wouldn't be needed to continue naming any of the girls Serenity.
It was also the first time that Silver Millennium had a crown prince instead of the princess. She didn't mind at all. She loved all of her children equally. And they had great friends and playmates in the children of the guardians of the royal family. Sailor Venus had married Kunzite and they had two children. Both of them girls. Jupiter and Zoisite meanwhile had had three boys. When the children got together, it was always loud. With much laughter and running around. Some nobles didn't look pleased how wild the prince and princesses would play at times, but Serenity and Endymion wanted to let them be children. They would have to learn about their duties soon enough.
The solar system was peaceful now. A few smaller problems had come up and two outside threats had tried to invade, believing that Serenity and Endymion as a young royal couple wouldn't have the necessary strength and experience to push them back. They were wrong. In a combined effort, the protectors of the solar system fought and defeated them. After the clear defeats of the invaders other systems renewed their diplomatic connections with the Silver Millennium. And soon the young King and Queen were acknowledged by their peers from other parts of the galaxy.
A new development was also that the planets were training up more candidates for the position of Sailor Scouts. Mars and Mercury wanted to present new protectors soon and Venus and Jupiter had declared that substitutes were going to be available in case the current holders of the position were indisposed. For example after giving birth to another child. Because there simply wasn't a working way to prevent pregnancies. With the scouts, their magic overwhelmed any kind of known contraceptives. Serenity knew that too well. And she couldn't keep her hands of her husband either. So, the logical result were more children.
Silver Millennium was still dealing with the losses of the war, but the people had dealt with their grief. And they had installed new measures to prevent a repeat of the tragedy. And it was assuring that one day, in the future, when they were all reborn, she would have the chance to see the ones lost in the war again.
I hope you liked it :)
