The next day, as Arizona came into the hospital for her shift she was approached by Dr. Webber.

"That's a nice picture you got in the paper this morning there, Robbins," he said as he handed Arizona the cover of the sports section of The Seattle Times.

"The paper?" Arizona was puzzled for a moment and then remembered as she looked at the paper. "Oh, right the Mariners thing yesterday…"

"How was it, meeting the first female athlete in the MLB?"

"It was okay. She's just a person like anyone else. Plus, I'm not big on baseball. I really don't know much about her or The Mariners or anything about it. But yes, it is impressive to be that person in history."

Arizona headed up to the pediatric floor and checked in at the nurses station to meet up with the intern assigned to her for the day. As Arizona was going over her charts she looked up from her tablet and was surprised to see Lynzee was in one of the patients rooms. Arizona looked around to see photographers or the blonde woman she had seen the day before but she didn't see anyone besides Lynzee who was talking to a little girl who was going to be having surgery in a couple hours. She wore jeans again and the teal converse she had worn the day before, but this time instead of wearing a loose jersey, she was wearing a t-shirt that accentuated all her curves and perfectly toned arms. As a pitcher she must work out her arms a lot, and Arizona got distracted in her thoughts for a moment about the possibilities of what those strong arms could do.

"Jessie?" Arizona said, trying to get the attention of the charge nurse for the floor.

"Yes, Dr. Robbins?"

"We're not doing another publicity thing again today are we?"

"Not that I'm aware of, Dr. Robbins. She came in about 20 minutes ago and said she wanted to see any of the patients she didn't get a chance to meet with yesterday. I heard she was a little annoyed with that blonde woman who kept following her around yesterday when she made her leave early for another event."

"I see." Arizona headed for the room Lynzee was in. "Good morning Jena! How are you feeling this morning? I see you have company." Arizona was her bubbly usual self around her patients. "Ms. Miller I'm surprised to again so soon."

Lynzee stood up from sitting next to the young patient and tucked her hands into her front jean pockets. "Well it's my day off and I wanted to come back. I didn't get to see Jena here and some of the other patients on the floor. Jena, I should take off though so Dr. Robbins can do her job without me being in the way."

"Okay, but can I get a picture with you first so I can post it on my Instagram?" the young girl had asked. "My friends won't believe that I met you if I don't have a picture."

Lynzee laughed, "Sure. I'll even do you one better. Let me know when you're all healed up and back to school and I'll stop by your class one day. How about that?" Lynzee jotted down a number on a piece of paper and handed it to Jena. "That's my number. Text me anytime okay? But don't give that number to anyone else, except for maybe Dr. Robbins. This falls under doctor/patient confidentiality." Lynzee quickly flashed a smile at Arizona.

"That would be awesome! I promise, I'll only share your number with Dr. Robbins!" Jena handed her phone to Dr. Robbins who snapped a photo of the two and Lynzee headed for another patient's room.

As Arizona finished her rounds later in the morning she caught Lynzee talking on the phone at the end of the hallway. Arizona made her way over to the nurses station so she could eavesdrop without being completely obvious. Lynzee sounded agitated with whomever she was talking to. If Arizona had to guess, she was talking to the blonde.

"It's my day off, Rebecca. I don't get that many between now and the off-season." Lynzee sighed and threw her head backwards. "Okay, okay! I'll be there at three. No, I don't want Jason to pick me up. I told you I don't want a driver to take me everywhere, I like to drive. Fine!" Lynzee hung up the phone and looked towards the nurses station and saw Arizona.

Arizona quickly looked away and realized she had been caught. She immediately began to blush. She looked back up and smiled, "Sorry, are you okay? You sounded frustrated. Do you have time for a cup of crappy hospital coffee? I'm buying."

Lynzee smiled. "Sure."

Down in the cafeteria the two sat across from one another as they sipped on their coffees.

"So…" They both started to say at the same time. They both chuckled a little.

"I was surprised to see you again today. And it's your off day? It's really great you came back, you know for the kids."

"Yeah I had to leave early yesterday for another appointment, I didn't realize my agent had scheduled another thing for me to do that was going to interfere with what I wanted to do yesterday. I think she was annoyed because she didn't arrange the hospital thing, that was done by The Mariners so she probably wasn't making as much money" Lynzee rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Is your agent the blonde who was with you yesterday?"

"Yep, that's her. Don't get me wrong, she's great at her job, and I'm thankful, she's just a little pushy, but I guess that's why she's one of the best."

"I couldn't tell if she was someone you worked with or your girlfriend."

Lynzee laughed a little, "Yeah, definitely not my girlfriend. She's not my type."

"So, what is your type?" Arizona asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"Uh," Lynzee paused, she wasn't prepared for the interview. "I uh, I don't know. I'm not sure I have a type per se."

"Well you just said your agent isn't your type, so is it because she's blonde? Are you not attracted to blondes?"

Lynzee cocked a little smile as she looked across the table at the gorgeous blonde doctor in front of her, "Uh, no it's definitely not that."

"So you do like blondes." Arizona raised an eyebrow again and sipped her coffee.

Lynzee licked her lips which were getting dry, cleared her throat and swallowed. "Uh, yes," she said slowly. "I like blondes, and brunettes, and the occasional red head."

The exchange had escalated quickly into an intense stare down between the two. "So what is it then?"

"What is… what…" Lynzee paused, "Wait… what are we talking about?"

Arizona smiled knowing the effect she was having on this woman, "I should get back. I need to get ready for Jena's surgery."

Lynzee sat back, "Right… yeah. Okay… Um." The blonde doctor had made her speechless, and she licked her lips again quickly and swallowed another drink of coffee to ease her dry throat.

"How about I text you and let you know when it's over, so you know she's okay? I mean, you did leave your number to Jena and me alone right? Doctor/patient confidentiality and all?"

Lynzee smiled, "Yeah, right… Doctor/patient confidentiality. Yeah, that would be great. I'd really appreciate it. She's a tough kid."

Arizona got up from the table and Lynzee stood up quickly. "Thank you, for the coffee, Dr. Robbins."

"Please, call me Arizona. Thank you for the conversation. It was… fun" Arizona said with a sly smile, and she turned and walked away.

Arizona finished her surgery on Jena and made her way to her office to write up her notes. She grabbed her phone and pulled out her notepad where she had copied down Lynzee's number from Jena's room before they went to the surgery floor.

Hi. It's Arizona. I just wanted to let you know Jena's surgery went well and she's in recovery.

Arizona watched as the little bubble appeared and waited for a response.

A thumbs up emoji was the response she got. Arizona was a little put off. She waited a moment to see if anything else was going to be said but that was it. No other bubbles showed up to indicate Lynzee was writing anything else. Arizona tossed her phone down on her desk. Well that was disappointing she thought, and she went back to her work.

A week had passed and Arizona heard nothing else from the baseball player. She would have liked to put it all behind her and forget her completely since she couldn't be bothered to write anything back beyond a thumbs up but everywhere she looked there were billboards or magazines, or newspapers with Lynzee's face on them. Baseball season was quickly approaching and the city of Seattle wanted to remind everyone they had nabbed the first female to play for Major League Baseball. Arizona walked out of the hospital and saw a new billboard as soon as she walked outside. It featured Lynzee's striking blue eyes looking over a baseball glove staring directly at the camera so every direction you looked at the billboard it looked like her eyes were following you.

"Seriously?" Arizona said as she saw the new billboard outside.

"It's obnoxious right?" Lynzee's voice said from the side.

Arizona jumped, "Jesus you scared the shit out of me. What are you doing here?!"

Lynzee laughed a little, "Sorry, I came by to see if you were working. Did I say something to upset you? I never heard from you about Jena. Luckily she text me the next day but, I was a little disappointed I didn't hear from you."

"What are you talking about? I text you that night, as soon as I was out of surgery. I even got a response. Not a great one, but you sent me a thumbs up."

Lynzee laughed a little, "A thumbs up emoji? I only use that when I'm being sarcastic with someone, like 'cool story bro'. I would not have sent you a thumbs up."

Arizona pulled out her phone, and found the message and showed it to Lynzee. Lynzee moved her head closer to Arizona as she read off her phone. Arizona was so mad she was almost seething. Who did this woman think she was, and now she was calling Arizona a liar basically. Arizona couldn't help the electricity she felt when she stood next to her though.

"Wait a minute…" Lynzee pulled out her own phone and went to her messages. She scrolled through the last week's worth of messages. Arizona was peering over her shoulder trying not be intoxicated by the smooth scent of her cologne again. God she smelled so good. "I don't have a message from your number… plus I would have saved your number with your name had I gotten it. Wait a minute..." Lynzee navigated through her phone into her settings and blocked contacts, and found Arizona's number buried among a slew of other numbers. "Oh my God" Lynzee said annoyed.

"What"

"I think I know what happened. I'm sorry. I uh…" Lynzee laughed a little. "Look can we start over?" Lynzee removed Arizona's number from her blocked contacts.

"I'm still confused," Arizona said cooly.

"After I left the hospital that day, I had a photo shoot and my agent had my phone. My guess is she responded to your text and then, blocked your number."

"Why would she do that? Doesn't she respect your privacy. It's your phone, what does she care if you get a text message from me or anyone."

Lynzee sighed, "She's, very protective of my image. I'm not saying she's right. I'm definitely going to talk to her about all this don't worry. Like, I said, can we start over? Can I buy you a drink? There's a place right across the street" Lynzee motioned toward Joe's.

"Do you need to call your agent and ask permission first?" Arizona asked as she raised an eyebrow and moved closely in front of Lynzee.

Lynzee let Arizona come into her space, and the two were eye to eye. Lynzee instinctively licked her lips and swallowed. "No…"

"Okay then. Let's go" Arizona said as she turned away and headed towards Joe's. Lynzee cocked her head to the side, exhaled and followed.
