Saitama woke up with a yawn and found himself in his striped pajamas on his old floor mat. He looked around and realized he was in his old apartment. Overgrown Rover and Black Sperm were resting in their small beds nearby. He heard Genos moving around to fix up breakfast in another room. Then he paused. Where is Mitsumi?!
"No…!" he hissed out softly and rose up to his feet. His pets looked at him with concern. "No! Not this dream! Crap! Where is she?!"
"Master?!" Genos asked and opened the door to his bedroom.
"Genos, I need you to find Mitsumi Takashi. Now!" he snapped.
"Ah…she's been missing for two years," Genos frowned hard. "You wish to find out what happened to her?"
"Fine. Yes. Whatever it takes to find her. We need to go now!" Saitama said and moved into his closet to change into his hero costume. Genos was extremely puzzled by this sudden change, but he wasn't going to argue with it. He was already scanning for anything he could find. Saitama was starting to panic, though. I know she's sleeping next to me, but if she's in a dream where I never met her, then that stupid snake bracelet is likely back and on her wrist! I can't wait to find her, and I don't know how she'll be if she wakes up in a place away from me! Even if it's not there, she can't be away from me at all! I probably can't even wake up unless I'm with her!
"Saitama!" Tangled Vine said when he appeared on his pillow. "I know where she is!"
"Yes! You know why I'm freaking out?!" he asked.
"Completely. Blue Ripple informed us. We cannot let her wake up away from you. It would disorient her. And, so you know, Overgrown Rover is here in full. Black Sperm is meditating and also here in full. Genos is not. His consciousness is not part of the dream. We need to go," Tangled Vine said and jumped onto his shoulders.
"Master…?!" Genos gaped at Tangled Vine.
"He's a new pet. His name is Tangled Vine. He knows where we have to go," Saitama said quickly. "I can't explain right now. I'll eat later."
"You're more concerned over a girl you never met than food…" Genos blinked. "Right! I'll set everything aside for a later meal. Let's head out!"
"We need to go past City S. She is there," Tangled Vine said.
"That's too far off!" Saitama grimaced. "I'll have to run fast…"
"Did you already forget that I am a GOD monster of plants?" Tangled Vine snickered. "Go outside."
"Ah! You can transport us!" Saitama grinned at him.
"Your new pet is a…?!" Genos gaped again when he stepped outside after sealing away the breakfast meal.
"Are you coming or not?" Saitama asked his disciple. Genos straightened up to nod and they moved to the main ground in front of the apartment. Overgrown Rover whined and looked up at Saitama. Black Sperm nodded to show he was ready. Tangled Vine focused for a large plant resembling a Venus flytrap to emerge from the ground. It was quick to snap them up and sink back down into the ground. Using the roots from other plants, it traveled swiftly to a mile out from where Mitsumi's last location was. It spat them out and vanished away after the travel was done.
"I see them, Master! A wagon of sorts!" Genos said when his yellow pupils focused. What he saw was a modernized covered brown wagon of immense proportions to almost be like a moving semi-truck. It was moving on its own to show that Inichi was clearly in control of it with his ESP powers. As much as Saitama was amazed at it, he wasted no time and bolted over.
His pets were right on his heels. Tangled Vine had a large tree sprout up to block the road further. This had the monsters moving the now halted wagon on high alert, and Zenchu was the one that shadow phased over. He was ready to attack, but then he paused on recognizing Saitama.
"Wait…what…the fuck…?!" Zenchu gaped now on becoming aware. "I was meditating after getting back from the mine…and just moving along with…"
"Yeah. This dream sucked you in and now you see what's going on. Good. I have to get to Mitsumi. Is that bracelet on her?"
"I didn't see it, thankfully. And I don't think the others are aware of what's up. Since I got into a dream with you before, I guess it makes sense on how I was easily brought in. Wait here. I have to explain a few things that heroes are here to help us and not hurt us," Zenchu grimaced and made his way back over to the massive wagon.
"Master…?" Genos frowned with confusion. Then he paused. His body seemed to shift a bit before he snapped back into focus. "It's me, Master! I was told to meditate by Wind Crane, and now I'm here in the dream! Is Miss Mitsumi well?! This can be incredibly demoralizing to her!"
"I know," Saitama nodded and made his way over quickly. Overgrown Rover trotted ahead of them and gave a cute look at Mitsumi's look of intense relief on seeing her husband. The front of the wagon was completely open to show it could be used for others to pull it if it was needed. It was a truly modernized version of a covered wagon in full.
It easily housed all of the monsters within it, and most of the supplies they needed were stored neatly along the back and sides inside it. Rendor and Kianna were on alert from where they sat inside. As much as they were concerned, they were all told by Inichi that Zenchu confirmed that the heroes approaching them were friendly and wanted to help.
"Lady Mitsumi?" Tacki asked in her monster peacock figure.
"What's going on?" Fumio asked in his fish monster form.
"Zenchu said that all is well," Inichi said while he hovered over them now. Then he paused and seemed to blink with recollection. "Ah…! I see…!"
"Wind Crane talked to you?" Zenchu had to ask.
"Yes. Just now she informed me. So, I, too, am meditating and 'here' in the dream. Check her wrist. Now," Inichi said.
"Let me sit with her, please," Saitama said. Tsuruga grunted and tossed his horns a bit from where he sat behind them all, but he suddenly had the vibe that this was necessary. Then he blinked his red eyes and snorted out with intense concern when he came to.
"I'm actually, eh…'here' now, too. Weird. But now I know I can finally get into her dreams to gore something!" Tsuruga grunted out. "This is good."
"Saitama…?" Mitsumi blinked at him with surprise. She was wearing a light pink kimono, but her hair was simply bound up lightly for travel. "I didn't know what was happening. I found myself here in the vehicle with the others, and I asked what was going on. I was told we were moving to another location. That I said it was time to do it and we had no choice. Then I saw that you weren't with me. I tried to stall them…and I started to panic…"
"I'm here now," Saitama soothed. He placed an arm around her and looked at her wrist. "Good. Nothing there. Eh...why were you all moving?"
"You know that we were muscled out of that old warehouse in the beginning. We were looking for a new place to go. Instead of coming to City Z, we found a place abandoned on a beach by City T. We were heading there to start a new place of business. It seemed like a nice place," Zenchu chuckled.
"We should check into that," Inichi mused.
"Am I missing something?" Kamiko asked from where she rode on the top of the wagon in her chameleon form. "Lady Mitsumi?"
"Everything is fine. You know what? Let's keep going! We should totally check out that place," Mitsumi smiled. "And with heroes with us, we'll be even further protected. I know, it's hard to explain, but I knew Saitama a long time ago. I'm sure he got worried when I didn't contact him. I'm glad he found me again after so long. I was running away and had lost his phone number, or I would have called him to help me. He's very special to me and will help protect us."
"Ah. Playing along with the dream. I get it," Saitama grinned and squeezed her close. Genos moved to talk to Kamiko on the top of the wagon. Tangled Vine snuggled into Mitsumi to show he was able to protect her again, and he had the tree disappear from the road to expose the way forward. Overgrown Rover and Black Sperm sat at the front of the wagon to show they would help guard it. Inichi focused to let the wagon move slowly on its own again.
"I thought he'd just transport all of us in his usual bubble," Zenchu said with a bit of confusion.
"Did you already forget that Lady Mitsumi did love countryside travels? I always did this now and then when there was no emergency," Inichi chuckled. "It's easy to hide this transport vehicle in remote locations. Hmm. We should collect it again, now that I think on it…"
"If it's good, I should pack up the old apartment. Maybe," Saitama mused. "I'm sure there are other Hero Association buildings around. I doubt Mitsumi would want me to live away from her after all this."
"Agreed. We can look into it after we assess the new location," Inichi said and refocused on moving the vehicle with his ESP. The front of the wagon now had a curtain pulled in front of it just enough, and Genos realized they were traveling on a very old road that was forgotten by many. He was impressed on how Mitsumi and her monster family travelled around for so long undetected.
"Have some snacks," Orotsu said from the back of the wagon. He began to hand out small treats to the others with his tentacle arms. As they continued forward to the new location, the dream finally ended…
"Mitsumi!" Saitama snapped his eyes open and found her pressing into him. He sighed with intense relief, groaned at everything and ran a hand over his face. "That dream…absolutely sucked..."
"At first it did," she nodded and let him squeeze her close. He put a hand on her belly to let his son kick at his palm. He chuckled and found himself relaxing again with another sigh of relief.
"I'm in the live chat of the game. Lady Mitsumi, I am going to collect that traveling vehicle. We can definitely utilize it to help with underground transport of monsters and goods," Inichi said to them. "I'm surprised that we had forgotten it with everything going on."
"Yes. I had forgotten about that wagon, too! Have Tacki check it over when it gets here?" Mitsumi agreed. "And check out the yacht in the lake. Those should both be inspected thoroughly. And don't we have that drilling machine from when I went to the Wind Crane Clan temple?"
"That we do! I can whole-heartedly agree, and I shall have Tacki inspect them all when she can. She just left to locate the man that provides the silk she appreciates so much. We shall also check into the location from City T," Inichi chuckled and left the chat line.
"How long did you have that wagon thing?" Saitama asked her.
"I think about a year. Inichi had found it. Of course, Tacki repaired it. As much as Inichi bubbled us everywhere, I told him I always loved to just travel on the road when I was able. So he found that truck in a junkyard. He brought it to us on one of the abandoned lots we were staying at for a week.
"Zenchu and I walked into an automobile registration place and secured it under my name with some light insurance. Just to ensure we wouldn't get caught or pulled over. I'm just glad that my family didn't check any records to see that I was actually getting some kind of a car," she sighed with a small chuckle.
"I don't think anyone would have recognized that truck," Saitama said to get her laughing with agreement. "So many modifications!"
"Sometimes it's nice to just drive around in a car," she chuckled again and snuggled into him.
"So…do you know how to drive?" he asked.
"I…actually do," she blushed softly. "I'd have to practice again, but I do know how to drive. Father wanted me to learn in case I needed it."
"You have a license?"
"Oh. I'll need to get it replaced. It was lost when I ran away. I think. Oh! It's in my room! In a drawer! Inichi is getting it for me now. It's not expired yet, so I could drive around for fun if I wanted to. Ahh! Now Inichi told me he got me a car! Some time back! I never knew!" she gasped with a form of childish delight.
"Nice!" Saitama grinned. He watched her get the license from a blue bubble, and he chuckled at how she appeared a touch younger. She got it done at seventeen? Wow! Even at that age…she's so stunning! A vision of the sleek, white car with golden embellishments was given, and he was thoroughly impressed. It was still in the car garage, and he knew he had to drive around in it with her at some point.
"Do you know how to drive?" she asked him and watched Blue Ripple set her license on a desk surface for now. He sighed and shook his head. "Really?"
"Me being broke all the time and used to walking everywhere, well, I couldn't afford a car. So, I never bothered to really learn…" he shrugged. Then he stared at her intense look of determination. "Okay. What is that look for?"
"You are going to learn how to drive," she said.
"I don't need to. And I'd likely break the car if I got pissed," he said.
"He does have a point," Blue Ripple snickered.
"For all that, just have him sit behind the wheel and we can have him pretend to know how to drive. We'll move the car for him," Bright Bolt nodded.
"You could, huh? Well, it would still be nice for him to know how to drive. I think it would be beneficial to him," Mitsumi smiled.
"Would you teach me?" he asked with a grin.
"Nope. I'll have Genos do that," Mitsumi grinned back with knowing.
"Ah…well…huh. He actually could…" Saitama blinked at the idea. "But, well, where would we drive?"
"Like in the dream we had, there are plenty of abandoned roads all over. We can even make a road that goes all around our land in City Z, come to think of it. We do need that for quick scouting and getting around for the five miles we purchased. A lot of roads need to be repaired, too," she frowned.
"Hmm…?" Stable Rock looked at them.
"The streets are not made of true earth or metal. It's asphalt. Like a mix of various components and other things," Mitsumi said. "It's the best way to keep tires from having issues. Or at least it makes the streets easy to see in various weather conditions."
"I…can fix…the stone…to prepare…the way…?" he asked.
"I'd say just make stone streets of black rock. Nothing too bumpy and easy for car tires to work with. Maybe Fire Flight can put specialized heating underneath the roads so they don't ice over. Then there's the road signs to show where cars go. You'll wanna talk to Inichi about that," Saitama said. Stable Rock mused over the idea and eventually rolled onto his back for belly scratches.
"Later…" he mumbled and closed his glowing amber eyes with contentment. Bright Bolt sighed before giving an excited squeal of delight at the butt scratching he got from Mitsumi. She gave him his favorite scratching for a good minute before getting pulled close by her husband.
"I love you," he whispered to her.
"I love you, too," she smiled and snuggled into him. He rested a hand on her belly again and paused. Then he glanced down to study her. "Saitama?"
"I think you grew a good inch or two out," he grimaced.
"Oh…" she frowned.
"It's okay! Just very fast growth. We knew this was happening. Eh?" he blinked when the Daiki came into the live chat.
"Mitsumi, we were invited to an exclusive event for funding," Daiki started.
"No," Mitsumi said sternly.
"Wait! It's in that luxury hotel that Father always went to in City H," he said carefully. "It's why I wanted you to know."
"The one with that hidden room?" Saitama asked.
"The very one," Daiki confirmed.
"Mr. Saitama, may I agree to this?" Inichi asked in the chat. "I was listening in to your thoughts, and I had to put in my agreement. We need to go there."
"I am here and paying attention," Metal Knight said when he chimed in. Siren was already typing for him to help research.
"What is the event about?" Mitsumi asked now.
"Something about a new form of soap brand. I think. I'll have to check," Daiki thought aloud. "I tried to ask some questions, but I never got a real answer."
"How many guests can I invite?" Mitsumi asked with a small smile.
"I think they just wanted you, but I said you go nowhere without your husband as a rule," her brother said truthfully.
"Tell them I have my own party of monsters and heroes that I can bring with me. If they don't like it, then I don't go," she grinned.
"I want a sample of their soap," Saitama said bluntly. "If it's good, we'll also go. If it's bad, I won't support crap."
"And I did mention that. They refused to provide a sample saying it was 'too exclusive to give out'," Daiki sighed. "It would be provided at the event, though. I was a bit confused on that."
"Case closed. Not going," Saitama nodded.
"Was a name ever provided on who reached out?" Inichi asked.
"Ah…hmm. Come to think of it…I never got a name…" Daiki said with a bit of surprise. "That's fishy."
"It sounds like a trap," Mitsumi said with a sigh.
"Do you have the phone number that called you?" Metal Knight asked.
"Hmm…interesting…" Daiki muttered on checking the caller ID on the mansion phone. "It's an anonymous number. I'm calling you from my mobile to keep the number on the display. It's all zeroes."
"If Lightning Max is still there, please have him check the last incoming phone number. The security room has a feature that allows all numbers to be exposed for safety," Mitsumi said with full knowing.
"Truly?! May I get this form of tech?" Metal Knight asked.
"Of course," Mitsumi said warmly.
"Hey! I'm in the chat now. I just sent Metal Knight a copy of the code we use. Let me see what we can find out about that number," Max said and was heard typing and clicking on a computer. "It looks like…it was an online number…"
"Not from a normal phone?" Saitama asked with confusion.
"They were severely covering their tracks," Metal Knight smirked after installing the code and examining the number on his side. "However, I am able to grab the IP address trace of the call…"
"The what?" Saitama blinked.
"It's computer talk. Don't worry about it," Max laughed a bit.
"Let's see…" Metal Knight muttered while rapidly hitting various keys. Siren paid close attention to what he was doing to assist him better. "No VPN…and there is no firewall…"
"Huh?" Saitama asked with confusion.
"I got it. The location is downtown in City V," Metal Knight said while homing in on the exact target. He pulled up an aerial street view of the map and sent a drone out to further scout for him. "A rather sloppy way to cover up, but I'm sure not many know how to check for these things. I'm bringing up the aerial view on your television."
"Okay," Mitsumi nodded and watched King's game split to a side screen. On looking at the surrounding neighborhood, Mitsumi blinked. "I know that area! Not very well, and I've only been there once, but I know it!"
"Lady Mitsumi…" Inichi said with intense concern. "Did your false mother take you there at one point?"
"When I was fifteen I was brought there. She convinced Father that I was going to a nail salon with her. He didn't trust it, but this was before he knew in full on what my then mother was. Before the fan dancing, of course. He didn't like how she was suddenly taking an intense interest in me, so he followed her discreetly. When she brought me to the location in question, it was to one of her local 'meeting places', but a bit away from it for safety. Down the street at the telephone booth you can see now.
"Father was quick to get out of the car, snatch me back to his side and scream at her that she lied to him. He vowed to never let me out of his sight after that," she said softly. "Come to think of it, he even started to sleep in a guest room away from her after that to show he no longer trusted her. Even in sleep. He kept the door locked and ensured only I had the key to wake him for emergencies. All others would wake him from a speaker installed outside the door. He even had a camera activated around my door, too, to further protect me from her."
"That is a Secret Skins recruitment center!" Inichi growled at a closer view at the building in question. "She was hoping to start conditioning you under her rule by other means! Possibly even infect you with a flea! It was good that Etsuji decided to follow you to ensure of where you went."
"Father just didn't like where I was brought. It was a bit of a seedy part. He didn't know it belonged to the Secret Skins. It was just that whole area of the city. He was livid and quickly drove me home. He talked to me the entire time to make me wary of places like that. To avoid them if I'm not with those I trust. So…" she found herself trailing off on looking at Bright Bolt. "Is something wrong?"
"I traced the electricity to that place, and now I can sense the stuff they use there. It's a communications center, too. A big one. All for spying and sending information," the lightning monster growled out. "I just sent a massive zap to it."
"What?!" Saitama asked with a bit of delighted surprise.
"Yep. Everything's fried now," Bright Bolt snickered.
"I caught the video…" Metal Knight said and had his drone link it up. They all saw how clouds suddenly converged over the small, two story corner building. Then a massive flash of lightning struck the electrical pole just outside it to illuminate the place from the inside out. Screams of outrage and fear were heard all through the two story building now with intense panic.
"That is awesome," Saitama said. Mitsumi found herself laughing at it all.
"So, what's the plan now?" Mitsumi smiled at him.
"Well, how many Secret Skins are in there?" he asked.
"Hmm…" Stable Rock grunted and focused mildly. "A lot…"
"Are any of them strong?" Tangled Vine asked.
"One is…the leader…there…" Stable Rock said and focused more. "Ah…"
"What?" Bright Bolt asked.
"That one…is touched…with…invisibility…" he said with amusement.
"So, that one was touched by the GOD monster?" Inichi asked.
"Yes…" Stable Rock snickered. "Want me…to play…fetch…?"
"And include in the lineup tomorrow? Yes. And, eh…do whatever you want with the others. I guess," Saitama shrugged. "We need that flea. I'm sure we can create an awesome GOD monster egg from it!"
"That would be true. Even Cold Snap is talking to the others on what can be done with it," Blue Ripple chuckled.
"Inichi, you might want to let Sweet Mask know that the pets are going to playing in City V," Mitsumi said with a bit of concern.
"I have just done so," Inichi confirmed. "He is with Kiyoshi right now and confronting your grandparents on your father's side. They are overjoyed and wish to meet with you the moment they can. He is inviting them to the hotel. He is going to the coroner's office now to confront the staff. Sweet Mask just sent personnel to the building in question in City V. What's going to happen?"
"Watch the live feed," Metal Knight said with a form of silent shock. "Road blocks are being set up now by my robots…"
"Hey. I'm here, too. And watching with Kianna. Just…wow…" King said when the screen now showed a building lighting up with molten flames. Fire Flight was livid that Mitsumi was nearly harmed there and that there were others always being harmed on a daily basis.
"I have…the leader…" Stable Rock smirked. "Earth…feels…movement..."
"So you know where that one is no matter what. Nice," Bright Bolt chuckled. "Lots of them scrambling out now like ants in a nest, eh?"
"Thirty of them. All rather weak save the one caught," Blue Ripple sensed. "We can destroy them all."
"Might want to if they all scatter," Garou said when he joined the live chat. "I don't think we want to meet them all again."
"I don't think we'll have that problem," Metal Knight said quietly. Lava had already engulfed the building to melt it straight down to nothing in a carefully controlled way. This also included anyone that inhabited that building. Only the leader was caught. None others were spared. Anyone that showed resistance to fire was struck down by Bright Bolt. None of them stood a chance.
"Hmm…" Stable Rock mused. He had already repaired the street without a trace of damage done. Mitsumi looked at him curiously. "Buy…that plot…for us…? We can…use it…"
"Ah! And make the area better for visitors?" Mitsumi asked with delight.
"Yes…" Stable Rock nodded.
"What would we put there?" Saitama asked.
"I know!" Lily chimed into the chat. "Make a building for Tacki to sell stuff! We'll have other staff there, but this way we can start merchandising!"
"That's a brilliant idea!" Mitsumi said with complete awe at the thought.
"We'll be able to set up strict security measures this way," Metal Knight mused. "In fact, we can also make it a place where people can purchase things from other heroes, too. So, I could make something and split the profit. As would other heroes if they make things to sell them."
"I love that idea," Mitsumi chuckled.
"I'd say four stories tall. The main floor can be a greeting floor with small snacks and stuff. Second floor can have stuff from C and B heroes. Third floor can hold items from A and S heroes. The fourth floor will be our floor to show they have to go through a form of security three times to reach it," Saitama said with a small chuckle.
"So, no security on the main floor. Security on the other floors. Makes sense. We could do something like the restaurant to put a few things not for sale on display. I can see that," Metal Knight agreed in full. "Then there would be security needed on all floors."
"Genos and I can work on a security room," Max offered.
"Good. Do it. Maybe, if it works well, we'll have it up by next week. Eh, maybe send out fliers to the other heroes about this? If any are interested? If we want to, we can even tell the board that, depending on how much is sold by a hero, it could be seen as a public service. To a point, that is," Saitama thought aloud.
"The building…is made…" Stable Rock snickered.
"What…?" Saitama blinked.
"We can…visit it…tomorrow…maybe…" the earth monster mused. Now he swooned from the intense head scratching he got.
"I'd say to leave the four floors for now. If we realize we need to add another floor, we should do it," Mitsumi smiled and joined in scratching him. Overgrown Rover whined and pawed at them both for attention. Scritch sniffed a bit and slunk between them for cuddles.
"Hey!" Saitama said before finding himself laughing softly at it. Then he paused when Scritch lifted up its head to stare out a window with a protective growl. Overgrown Rover snarled and bristled slightly. The other pets glanced at the window and gave odd sounds of concern. Saitama looked at them all and said, "Okay. What's going on?"
"Someone is trying to fly here and try their luck," Blue Ripple grumbled.
"Who?" Mitsumi asked.
"A low class hero of the B rank, I think. Has some kind of flight gear. Huh. He was dared to try and get in to see what our floor is all about. I'm gonna make some clouds with static to warn. If that one manages to get to the balcony…" Bright Bolt snickered out. Saitama nodded to proceed with it.
"I will add rain to your clouds. This way the ground landed on will be nice and shocking," Blue Ripple smirked.
"I have the plants in the room on alert," Tangled Vine said and yawned.
"Cold Snap is now aware and ready to freeze their shoes to the ground from the water," Blue Ripple said with an amused chuckle.
"Good. I'm not ready to ask questions. You all can ask for me," Saitama said with a neutral stare at his pets. At the sudden flash of lightning and a scream of pain given right after, Bright Bolt and Blue Ripple gave out harsh snickers. Then Saitama said, "Do not turn human with me like this with Mitsumi. Stay as my pets, please. Just find out what the guy wants."
Bright Bolt nodded and jumped off the bed. He trotted up to the balcony's opened sliding door window and blinked his glowing electric blue eyes. At the man in an all-white suit, helmet, goggles and gloves, Bright Bolt asked, "What do you want? This area is off limits. Talk now or get zapped again."
"I won't…talk…to a monster…!" the man grimaced and swore that his white boots were frozen to the ground.
"Well, Saitama and Mitsumi are in bed. They told us talk to you. And that's 'us' as in their pets. Sooo, start talking," the electrical monster said. A blue spark suddenly appeared and flickered to reveal Bang standing there with his arms crossed. Now the lesser hero gaped.
"Hello. I was brought here from my dojo. You are not allowed here. And, before you ask, I am the S ranked hero, Silver Fang. Be glad you're talking to me and none of the others. Right?" Bang asked carefully. Then he paused at what he was mentally told by the pets. "I see. So, you won't talk to monsters, even though they are our allies? Interesting. I shall be reporting you to the Hero Association board the moment I can."
"He was dared to be here," Blue Ripple said when he trudged over. Bang rose a brow and stared with confusion at the man.
"Something about not having courage and blah, blah stuff," Bright Bolt snorted and walked out to the balcony. "I just wanna zap him again."
"What were you dared to do exactly?" Bang asked.
"Um…well…" the man stalled.
"To steal…a set of panties…?!" Blue Ripple cringed with disgust.
"I'm zapping," Bright Bolt said and let an electrical spark shoot off his antlers. "That's just rude and not needed."
"What?!" Mitsumi shouted out from inside the bedroom. "Panties?! From me?! What crude and childish antics! I want to know who made the dare!"
"Mitsumi…" Saitama sighed.
"No, Saitama. It's personal clothing. My personal clothing. It's like he was deliberately going to steal something of mine as a trophy!" she frowned hard. Now Saitama blinked when it all sunk in.
"I get it now. Okay. Five minutes?" he said and rubbed her belly. "I'll be right back Takaki. I have to slap someone."
Several kicks were given and he smiled softly. He kissed her forehead and snagged a robe on his way out of the treasure bed. He walked out after securing it and glared at the faulty man in front of him. When the pupils of his eyes flickered like dull coals, the man said, "Please! I won't do it again!"
"I don't believe you," Saitama said flatly. "This was to be a day of rest and relaxation for me and my wife. What's your hero name?"
"Sky High," the man mumbled.
"How long have you been a hero?"
"A month…"
"What rank are you?"
"B class…"
"And you got here from the rocket pack on your back. As you let it reflect your name. Just know this," Saitama said and suddenly rushed into the man's face. "I'm S class and rank 3. My wife is rank 4 in the same class. Her fans would have shredded you to pieces if you even stepped one foot into our room. And she has new fans. Our pets were ready to turn you into a chew toy. Who dared you to come here? Answer me now."
"I'm not gonna snitch!" Sky High scowled.
"Then why are you a hero?" Saitama now asked him point blank. "I consider myself a hero for fun. But to my wife? I'm her protector. I'm the one that punches out the bad man that she points at. I'm the one that slaps the crap out of anyone that dares to upset her. You just upset her. You wanted to steal a personal item of hers. Why?"
"I know why," Blue Ripple growled on gleaning the man's thoughts. "The one who dared this one has an intense crush on Mitsumi. Remember the one from the hotel that tried and failed to attack Stable Rock?"
"What?! That guy?!" Saitama's eye twitched. "I knew it! I should have slapped him! Please tell me that he's not a hero!"
"Very low C class. As you thought, he used the hero rank as a means to try and get to her. Stable Rock is…" Blue Ripple turned to see the jeweled earth monster lumbering out.
"I got…this…" he growled. "Saitama…go back…to…Mitsumi…"
"Why?" Saitama had to ask.
"I will…show…what I did…before…" Stable Rock smirked. "I am…not…in the…room…so…"
"Ah! To be human out here! Okay. That's fine. I'll leave it to you," Saitama nodded. Now that he walked inside and closed the glass sliding door to the balcony, Stable Rock retreated into his shell to let it merge and form into his human form. He glared down at the lesser hero with his glowing amber eyes and set his golden staff glittering with gems upright next to him.
"As her pet, I protect them. As her brother, I initiate justice to protect family," Stable Rock grounded out. "I didn't bother to learn the name of the one that dared you to do this. That one is insignificant. You are a B class hero, knew this challenge was utterly foolish and still decided to act on it. Why?"
"I just felt that his challenge was a no brainer!" Sky High sulked. "It was just panties. It wasn't like it was anything else..."
"That human was lusting after Mitsumi! He wanted her clothing for himself as a keepsake! And it's something that adorns her most sensitive areas! Have you even thought about that?!" Stable Rock scowled at him.
"And did he really tell you that if she wore them it would be even better? I mean…doesn't that creep you out?" Bright Bolt asked when he walked over in his human form. Bang was still there and was getting quite livid at what he was hearing. "You were cool with stealing used clothing, too? Geez, man. You have issues. Maybe you need therapy…"
"I don't need therapy!" Sky High retorted.
"Maybe to convince yourself on why you agreed to be a hero. Was it only for the pay?" Bang asked. That got the man to go quiet. "So, you don't have the heart of a hero at all. Interesting."
"When's the last time you actually protected someone from harm?" Bright Bolt asked. "Just recently I was helping stop fires, saving victims from destruction and keeping others safe! I'm more of a hero than you!"
"Which is why we are part of the Heroic Monster Association," Zenchu said when arrived from Wind Crane's wind transport. "True. We're monsters. Oh, joy! Who the fuck cares if we're proving to be more help than humans like you?"
"A point for him," Bang nodded. Then he neatly blocked a sudden strike at Stable Rock with his outstretched palm. "Bad move. Very bad move."
"You would dare to attack my brother?!" Mitsumi shrieked out from the penthouse bedroom. Now she was in a robe, had all of her fans out and Saitama could only follow her with a sense of pity for the man. "What gives you the right to outright attack my brother?! And DON'T YOU DARE say that it's because he's a monster! That is absolute garbage!"
"Ah…" Sky High's jaw dropped at the sight of all her fans flicking out blades and spikes at him. They didn't become the singular crescents, but stayed in the circular sets of ten. He was staring at the jeweled fans with complete fascination, though. Stable Rock grimaced at how greedy the human clearly was.
"You thoroughly pissed off my wife. Forced me to come out here. Again. You need to visit the Hero Association board. Especially since you tried to attack a family member," Saitama said with hard, neutral stare. Cold Snap appeared with a flicker of blue and nodded at him.
"Sweet Mask says to send both of them now. They will be questioned," Cold Snap told him. Mitsumi nodded to show it needed to be done.
"Wait!" the man started, but Cold Snap was already sending him off.
"Good. He would have tried to stall to ask questions on how you got my fans. He is not worthy of even getting a false set. Everything is well now," Stable Rock nodded. "I was sorely tempted to slam him off the roof with a rock slab, though. Think I would have been able to?"
"If he tried to attack you again, yes. Do it. Self-defense," Saitama nodded and led Mitsumi back inside. All of the fans settled along the walls again to become silent sentries. Cold Snap sent Bang away before going into the guest room to rejoin Fumio and Tareo. When Bright Bolt was going to head inside, Stable Rock put out his palm to stop him.
"Become his pet," Stable Rock said in warning.
"Ah! Yeah. I can do that," Bright Bolt chuckled sheepishly.
"I'll head back now. Contact me if any other bullshit happens," Zenchu said and got pulled back to Wind Crane. Stable Rock and Bright Bolt moved back inside after shifting into the natural forms to snuggle into Mitsumi.
"I don't like how anyone can just land on our rooftop," Tangled Vine grumbled. "I would like to make a canopy with thorns on the outer part and a beautiful atrium underneath."
"I like that," Saitama grinned. Mitsumi was still irritated at everything, but she burst out with laughter when Overgrown Rover licked at her face. Scritch snuggled its head under her chin to get her giggling with joy at it. Saitama nodded and let her snuggle into him after that. He brought his game back up to check on his gatherers and finally relaxed again.
He knew his pets were guarding the way in. And he knew the fans were waiting to shred anyone they didn't see as an ally to shreds. As irked as he was that someone thought they could try and barge in like nothing was going to happen had him concerned. After this? Never. And if it did happen, the intruder will deal with me.
