Nightcloud sighed dreamily as she watched a handsome IceWing chat with his sister, Neptune. Her deep blue eyes seemed to take on a glazed look as she let her mind wonder.

"Hey, what are you doing? Spying on Frost like a stalker again?"

The black-and-dark-blue dragonet jumped about a foot in the air and spun around wildly. Her electric blue eyes met the deep jade green eyes of her best friend, Lightchaser.

"Hey! You two love-sick dragons! What on earth are you doing?"

Nightcloud and Lightchaser spun around to see Silkshade and Moonshimmer. Lightchaser rolled her jade green eyes and flicked her tail from left to right.

"Hey, where's Nightshade?" Neptune asked, jumping into the conversation. Nightcloud jumped about a tail-length into the air.

"Right here, Neptune," came a voice from the shadows of the Amethyst Winglet's sleeping cave. The dark blue IceWing spun around to see her NightWing clawmate.

The small black-and-purple NightWing had a leather pouch slung over her shoulder, Neptune assumed that it was full of scrolls and various other items.

"I met some of the dragonet's from both the emereld and crystal winglets, you guys wanna see the scroll with the new winglets?"

The three other dragonets nodded and Nightshade dug through her bag for the winglet placement sheet. "Ah-ha!" she cried, finally find the scroll that she'd been looking for.

Nightshade gently rolled out the scroll and carefully set it on top of the small wooden table the was centered in the middle of the study cave.

Nightshade glanced over at Neptune and Nightcloud, Lightchaser and Swiftkiller were sitting across from the three. Silkshade and Moonshimmer were StarClan knows where. Nightshade shook her head and read the next winglet on the list.

Emerald Winglet

IceWing: Snowball

MudWing: Creak

NightWing: Silkshade

RainWing: Flamingo

SandWing: Snake

SeaWing: Cobalt

SkyWing: Scarlet

Nightshade smirked and glanced over at Lightchaser, who blinked and cocked her head to the side. "What?" she asked her questioningly. "Why are you staring at me like that?" Nightshade shrugged and flicked her tail from left to right. "No rescan," she replied loftily.

Topaz Winglet

IceWing: Flurry

MudWing: Smudge

NightWing: Moonshimmer

Lightchaser reread the list of dragonets in the Topaz Winglet, after doing that, she looked up into Nightshade's light purple eyes. "How many winglet's are there?" Lightcatcher asked, blinking and point to the scroll with a wing. Nightshade giggled and pointed to the scroll with a claw. "I think there are six winglets," she responded with a shrug of her wings.

Ruby Winglet

IceWing: Blizzard

MudWing: Falcon

NightWing: Lightchaser

RainWing: Orchid

SandWing: Cactus

SeaWing: Pearl

SkyWing: Ember

Lightchaser smiled and looked at the others. "Hmm... the dragonet's in my winglet seem interesting." Neptune laughed and rolled her icy blue eyes.

Crystal Winglet

IceWing: Silver

MudWing: Walnut

NightWing: Nightcloud

RainWing: Thistle

SandWing: Sahara

SeaWing: Emerald

SkyWing: Harmony

"Well..." Nightcloud sighed and shrugged her wings with an amused expression on her face. "My clawmates seem interesting," Lightchaser giggled and playfully batted one of her wings.

Amethyst Winglet

IceWing: Neptune

MudWing: Hazel

NightWing: Nightshade

RainWing: Azalea

SandWing: Coyote

SeaWing: Artemis

SkyWing: Whirlwind

Once Nightshade had finashed reading the final winglet on the placement scroll, Lightchaser stared at Nightshade with wide eyes. "B-but you did there were only six winglets!" she exclaimed, still shocked about how many winglets that were actually added to the academy's student roster.

Diamond Winglet

IceWing: Artemis

MudWing: Hickory

NightWing: Swiftkiller

RainWing: Lavender

SandWing: Opel

SeaWing: Koi

SkyWing: Burgundy

A silence fell on the group yet again and this time, it was Silkshade that tried to break the silence.

"So, uh, what do we do now?" Lightchaser sighed softly and looked down at her scroll.

Nightshade was about to say something, but the chiming of the school bell interrupted her. "Well... I guess we'd better get going then, see ya around Nightshade," Neptune waved her tail and headed to her history class with Webs.

With one last heading and a glance at the placement scroll, Nightshade headed off to her math class with Nightstar. The young dragonet sighed softly to herself as she walked down the never ending hallway.
