"Adrien, did you put all the laundry in the hamper?" Marinette called. "Yeah!" Adrien called back. Marinette sighed as she lugged the hamper down to the laundry room. There were two things that never seemed to get down in the Agreste household. Laundry and dishes.
She hummed as she sorted the lights, dark, and colored and begin tossing them into the wash. Then she paused, pulling a long blue like tail thing from the very bottom of the basket.
"Is that what I think it is?" Tikki asked, sitting on Marinette's shoulder. Marinette felt a warm and fuzzy feeling. "Yes, Tikki. Its the first scarf I made for Adrien." She sighed, studying the scarf critically. Moth holes and a bad smell came from the scarf.
"Adrien would be devastated if I threw this away. And really, all it needs is some loving care." Determined, Marinette threw it in the wash, determined to make it new again.
An hour later, she was at her sewing machine, the machine humming away. "Bugaboo?" Adrien called, coming in wearing his jogging shorts. "Don't look!" Marinette sprang up, and quickly closed the door behind her. "Okay," Adrien tilted his head. "I was just wondering when lunch would be ready."
Marinette groaned internally. Lunch! "How about you pick up some soup and sandwiches?" Adrien grinned, leaning over to kiss her nose. "And Starbucks? Okay, be back soon!"
Take your time, Marinette called in her head. Tying up her hair in a messy bun, she set to work again. Taking a quick break for lunch, Marinette worked steadily into the evening, but at last she finished the scarf.
"Love, I have a surprise for you!" Adrien clicked off the TV, eyes shining. "For me?" He opened it, eyes widening in surprise. "But this is...you…."
"Yeah, I gave it some love and tender care, and ta-da! New meets old scarf!" "Marinette, I don't know how to thank you."
"Oh, I know how you can thank me," she said, sitting down in his lap. "A simple kiss will do." Adrien grinned, wrapping the scarf around them both, before meeting her lips with his.
