Replies, waiting patiently:
Sephiria Arks- The secret plot is probably the largest of the season, so the fact that more and more of the cast is finding out things is only natural. I'm glad you're liking ow Zev is being written. It's nice having a voice-of-reason character in a cast like this.
lordgemini- Sorry about Persephone! I hope her scene at the end of the episode keeps your hope up. We'll have to see what Syd is up to today now that Persephone isn't around her to be loud anymore.
The Feline Overlord- I agree, Kaif's plot is one that sits a bit weird with me too. It is my first time writing a character where being ace is sorta their focus, so I'm hoping to get better at handling him. Glad you're enjoying Winslow's portrayal.
Space Zodiac- Faye's ability to tell time is just because she's an astronomer and better understands how and when the sun rises/sets, it's nothing super special. You'll learn much more about her today!
Okay, new day, another elimination, who goes today?
Episode 6: The Fishing Minigame
Chris was much more vigilant this morning on the scope-out for villagers, and he had secluded himself further into the woods than regular. After checking around a few more times, he took a deep inhale before starting the recap. "Last time" he spoke at a regular volume instead of a loud and excited one, "on Total Drama Ancient Abodes, our cast got sent to the scariest villager, Thea, to undergo rigorous spear training." The opening clips were of Croshia and Thea doing a mock fight, and Thea demonstrating a perfect throw with her spear that went through the wooden bear. "We learned that while a lot of our group here is pretty smart, that doesn't really amount to much when you're fighting." Clips played of the likes of Kaif, Sasha, Winslow, and Faye missing the bear by just not throwing far enough. "Kaif and Sasha had a not-so-needed heart to heart, and it looks like Sasha's dumping Kaif off for...Setsuna?" Clips played of Kaif and Sasha meeting in the woods, followed by Setsuna meeting with Sasha right after.
"In the challenge, our teams engaged in a mock battle, only because it'd be weird if one of our alleged helpers was gonna die out there. Monty and Zev proved to be a near unstoppable duo, until little Klase took one of them out!" Scenes played of Monty and Zev totally destroying Alessia and Winslow, followed by Klase successfully disarming Monty. "Despite Team Persephone, well, more like despite the efforts of Persephone herself, they still fell for the second loss of the season for the team." Clips played of Persephone and Zev's final duel, Chander picking off Team Gorgeous in the woods, and Persephone losing the challenge.
Clips then began to play of Winter and Alessia meeting up. "Hoping to remove any obstacles in her way, Alessia worked the swaying heart of Winter by being the trendiest person in Crevice, and then used her influence to send Persephone packing!" Clips played of Alessia pretending to be nervous in front of Winter, and Persephone's elimination. "With one more on their way to Loser Island, the numbers have officially began to thin!" The scene cut back to Chris in the woods. "Will Team Persephone be able to pull out a win today? How will the first alliance of Sasha and Setsuna play out? Will I almost get caught by a more interesting villager than Rodin? Find out right now, on Total! Drama! Ancient Abodes!
Opening Sequence
[Various cameras and other director equipment came popping out of various points of Crevice. The first camera appeared as it popped out of the window to the blacksmith's workshop. The next one popped out of the ground in the training arena, where spear promptly severed it from its wires. Finally, a camera emerged from the dock that was connected to a small hut, this camera falling right into the water.]
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine,
[The camera zoomed from the top of the cliff all the way down into Crevice, where Chef was seen lifting a heavy piece of stone into place on a house, putting it into place, only for it to be knocked out by a rogue explosion from one of Chander's pranks. Chef sighed heavily as Chander laughed nervously at the result. Nearby, Klase watched this all unfold apprehensively.]
You guys are on my mind,
[The camera turned to the blacksmith, where Harvey could be seen wielding a giant sword he had crafted. He performed a pretty terrible swing at a target, and turned to look at a confused-looking Alessia, who merely sighed in frustration.]
You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see,
[The camera switched to the middle firepit, which Nicolette was assisting with the cleanup of. Nearby, Setsuna was pitching in on a rock move with Monty, the archeologist clearly saying some things that made Nicolette nervous and Monty angry. The bassist lost his temper, punching a hole into the rock which startled all three of them.]
I wanna be famous!
[The camera moved from the firepit to the meeting hall behind it, where Syd was tampering with a machine she had created. Meanwhile, Persephone watched her to the side, grinning excitedly as the machine began whirring and lighting up some of the lights that had been placed in there.]
I wanna live close to the sun,
[At the bridge connecting the village to the forest, Shion stood proudly, and acknowledging the camera, gave a wink. He then stared out into the forest, where a pair of eyes could be seen in the shadows.]
Go pack your bags cause I've already won,
[The eyes startled Shion, causing him to quickly turn around, and he ran into Winter, who had followed Shion out to the bridge. Shion sighed and helped Winter back to the village, the bandwagoner confused as to why they needed help.]
Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day,
[The camera flipped to the abandoned shaman temple, where Winslow was digging around in search of something. They encountered an odd staff that was still glowing, which only intrigued them further on what was going on with it.]
Cause I wanna be famous!
[Back in the meeting hall, Chris was having a discussion with Zenthus inside the leader's quarters. Zenthus was accompanied by the other three villagers. The room itself had a dark shadow inside it.]
Na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na na na na!
[Out by the dock near the hut, Zev was fishing with a very old rod as Sasha poked her head out of the hut, looking around for something, and then sitting down to relax. As soon as she did, Kaif appeared out of the water with a makeshift heart, which Sasha took. As soon as she did, Kaif went from flirty to confused.]
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous! I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
[The camera transitioned to night, where Faye was gazing up at the stars. At one point, the camera zoomed in on one of the stars, which turned into a ball of fire. As the camera zoomed out, it revealed the firepit at night.]
I wanna be famous *whistling*
[The camera panned out further to show everyone circled around the campfire, where the villagers were present for as well, all very confused at the whole situation. Everyone whistled the theme song as Chris stood on the side, holding up a sign that the villagers could not see, which was entitled: Total Drama Ancient Abodes.]
CREVICE, MEETING HALL
The meeting hall was currently holding the villagers of Crevice, Chef, and Chris. "Thank you for meeting so early in the morning," Zenthus said graciously. Chris turned his head to see the sun that had been out for hours already, shaking his head in confusion. "We wanted to discuss the plan for the next few days or so. While we are currently getting closer and closer to full restoration, there becomes another matter we are lacking in- readjustment to modern society."
"Right," Chef added. "Things have sure changed in the past thousand years or so. Maybe we ought to do some sort of cultural exchange at some point. You could teach us about your traditions, and our help comes from many parts of the world, so I am sure they have stories to share with you." Zenthus looked rather intrigued by the second half of that. "But, I agree still, that needs to happen sooner or later, because Thea won't know what I'm saying if I use the word 'won't'." Instantly, the huntress shifted around uncomfortably in her seat.
Croshia nodded. "I think that is a wonderful idea," she agreed. "However, a concern as well. Quite frankly, as much as I enjoy bear, I am getting tired of it, and we should lessen our hunting of it to allow the population in the area to continue. I also do not exactly trust these children to hunt down a bear." She looked over at Rodin, who nodded slightly. "I propose we have our ace fisherman teach our helpers to fish as well. After all, hunting and gathering is not exactly completely out of style here."
Zenthus looked rather interested in Croshia's suggestion. "Croshia, that sounds to be a notable idea." He turned to Rodin with a slightly more stern expression on his face. "Rodin, you understand that responsibility will fall to you." Zenthus sighed. "I understand if you have apprehensions about-"
Rodin instead cut of Zenthus before he could continue. "I can do it without issue," he replied bluntly, without even looking up from his seat. Thea looked shocked at the response, whipping her head around to try and find his eyes. "If the children fish, that means that I have less work to do, and I have more than enough rods to hand out."
Chef smiled at the fisherman. "Rodin, we really appreciate that, and I am sure that you will be repaid with the efforts of those who are here." Chef finally looked over to Chris. "Chris, does a day of fishing sound reasonable? Or do you think there should be a cooking component to that as well?"
"Cooking sounds good as well," Chris added. "After all, more people cooking means more food, and while each day that becomes a bit easier, I am sure a few of our helpers are already rather skilled in...wherever you cook. I did not notice a kitchen in the meeting hall."
Zenthus chuckled. "Our of necessity, we relocated our cooking facilities to the blacksmith workshop, where the cooking happens now." Both Chris and Chef looked rather concerned by that, Chef especially. Zenthus stood up. "This sounds like we have much to do today then." He looked over to Rodin. "Rodin, you understand that you will need to spearhead this instruction today?"
Croshia shot the fisherman a dirty look, but Rodin surprisingly acted regular without noticing it. "Ugh...yes, Zenthus. I also do not want those children to break my rods, so I wish to be present regardless. The rest of you can do whatever you need to." The meeting hall began to clear out after that, with Croshia following Rodin all the way back to the fishing hut. "You know, for never having watched one of the drastic rituals from that ridiculous shaman, I conducted myself perfectly."
"Satisfy your ego all you need," Croshia replied bluntly as she rolled her eyes at Rodin's comment. "We need to pick a new person for today. Someone in the other group, perhaps a polar opposite to counter the nothing we learned from the day before." She put a hand to her chin for a second, glancing outside to see who she could identify from there. "Watch the large boy, Monty."
Rodin nodded. "Interesting. I will try my best." He narrowed his eyes. "You need to keep Thea away from this investigation. Sprinkle snow outside her quarters, or whatever you need to do." Croshia did not appreciate the insinuation Rodin mentioned. "Apologies, over the line." He sighed. "Just go. I will take care of everything today...finally, something interesting is happening."
TEAM PERSEPHONE
Alessia walked back from the nearby the meeting hall with a huff. She walked right past her shack and instead found Winslow and Winter's shack. "Ugh, I can't believe this!" she said out loud, as if to grab their attention.
Winslow glanced up from the book they were reading on their bed. "Does this require my attention so intensely?" Winslow asked bluntly. "Rather, do you intend on sharing your concerns rather than ambiguously voicing them to the void?"
The questions seemed to make Alessia back off a bit, but the commotion was also enough to wake up Winter, who was sleeping up until that point. "Oh..." she said groggily as she wiped her eyes, "was I the last one to wake up? Guess I didn't get to be on that trend." They then noticed who was at the door, and instantly perked up. "Oh, Alessia, you're here! What's wrong?"
Winslow watched carefully from behind their book as Alessia voiced her woes. "I just spoke to Chris to see if there could be a room switch, and he said no! Can you imagine that?" She sighed. "Looks like that bed in my room will have to stay empty. I guess Syd knows how I feel now." Winslow raised an eyebrow at the streamer's final comment. "Well, I'm off to see if the boys are okay after last night's vote. See you all at the challenge!"
Once the streamer left, Winslow let out a sigh. "I believe that in a perfect world, it is possible that Chander's question regarding leadership is solved. She appears to be the perfect candidate." Winter furiously nodded in agreement. "But, her true motivations are yet to be discovered. What could a streamer have to gain from such an outdoor excursion such as this?"
Winter laughed. "Winslow, it's not that deep, we're all here because of the money, right? Most people sign up for this show to get the money, so that's my reason too. I mean, Crevice is a cool place, but we're really here for the money." She sighed. "Actually, I'm here because all my friends were auditioning too, but I'm the one who got it." They turned to Winslow. How about you?"
"The desires of few tend to more often gravitate themselves to me," Winslow said back eerily. "The village is the most interesting thing to me, and assisting with its restoration also brings me a sense of purpose right now." They stood up and grabbed the spear from yesterday. "I am off to look for edible plants in the area. I would watch the people you ally yourself with." As they left, Winter scratched her head in confusion.
Winter: "Watch the..." Winter said slowly to themselves. "Do they mean Alessia?" She laughed at the thought. "Probably not. Winslow's really hard to decipher sometimes."
Alessia then arrived at the other side of the team area, where Chander and Klase were getting ready for the day. "Morning, Klase," Alessia said quickly as she entered without permission into their shack. Klase gave back a silent wave. "Good morning, Chander," she said with a little more tenderness in her voice. "Did you sleep okay after the elimination?"
"Oh, g-good morning, Alessia," Chander said back quickly. "Yeah, I guess so. You were right, Persephone was a threat, but we so still need a leader. I don't want today to end up as bad as the first two real challenges." He shook his head. "Persephone did prove herself a bit yesterday, so maybe she would have been good..." He sighed. "I'm not great at this gameplay stuff. Team Gorgeous is united under Sasha pretty well, who could we unite under?"
The streamer giggled as she threw herself onto Chander's bed. "Chander, you've spent so long looking around for a leader, you need to remember yourself! I think you'd do a great job! Try leading today and see what happens!"
The performer hesitated at the notion of him taking charge. "That's really nice of you, but honestly, you might be better suited for the job," he admitted. Chander struggled to keep his focus with Alessia's piercing eyes meeting his gaze. "But, if you say so, I guess I could give it a try." He sighed heavily. "Alessia, to be honest, I really didn't want to be leader, so you have to tell me how I do, okay?" He turned to Klase. "You too. Be honest, please."
Klase nodded slowly as he laid on his bed reading through some sheet music. "You know I'm always honest," he replied bluntly. "After all, even on the first day I voted for Persephone because she was more of a pain to me that day." Alessia looked surprised to hear that come from the pianist.
Alessia gave a confident wink. "Don't worry, Chander, I'll be honest too, but I don't see a world that you don't do amazing! I'm sure you'll get us our first real win today!" She waved to them both again. "Well, I gotta get ready for the challenge. See you all soon!" The streamer left Klase and Chander's shack, returning to her own, more empty one, where she let out a confident chuckle.
Alessia: "Chander's right, this team needs a leader," she said bluntly. "But it can't be me, I'm busy playing Winter and Chander for their votes, so it's gotta be him. But, since he's sweet on me, maybe I'll be in a really great spot until the merge now." She sighed happily. "This game is really too easy."
Chander: "That was nice of Alessia to motivate me," he said with a nervous look. "She's so energetic all the time, and I'm glad she has faith in me. I really feel like I can give us a win!"
TEAM GORGEOUS
Out in the middle of the woods, Monty and Kaif were out hunting. "I'm real surprised you asked to go out to find food with me," Monty admitted as he carried a spear in one of his hands, a bag slightly full in the other. "To be honest, I thought this was something you'd ask Sasha to do."
Kaif hesitated for a second, before shaking his head and letting out an exaggerated sigh. "Alas, I am starting to think the stars were not meant to be on that one. That's why I asked you if I could come. I wanted to prove that I am a real member of the team still." He noticed a deer scampering away from them. "Do we...like...go and chase after that thing?"
Monty laughed. "With spears this weak, and that thing moving that fast, not a shot. Nice to hear that you're trying more though." After some time in silence, Monty spoke up again. "What about the others? Have you spoken to anyone else so far?"
Kaif laughed. "Honestly? I don't know. Everyone's so feisty, it can be hard to move on from Sasha so quick." He turned his head around to Monty. "How did you do it? You blew up day one and people started forgiving you in an instant!" The lover threw his spear at an animal that was racing by their feet, but was too slow. "And how did you get so many catches already?"
"Power and speed," the bassist said with a shrug. "And, I was honest with them. I think that could go a long way for you." He looked at Kaif right in the eyes. "I'll be honest. I like this you a lot better than the other you. You're normally watching with Sasha, but you should join us for cards tonight. That'll help you out big time."
The lover looked confused by that sentiment Monty had offered. "Maybe, I'd need to think about it. I don't wanna rule out true love just yet. There's a whole lot of other lovely ladies around. You clearly have your hands full with that." Monty rolled his eyes. "Well, I guess I'm enjoying this. Let me know if you ever want to talk again. This had been nice."
Kaif: "Monty is a good person," he said with a smile, that quickly switched to a frown. "I think that is going to bite him in the butt on this team though."
Back near the shacks, Faye and Nicolette were hanging out in their shack, just talking. "So I guess that's why I'm here," Nicolette said while the two were laying on their own bed. "The money is cool, but I think I'm really in it for the experience, meeting other people, and doing something new. I think there's something cool about that." She turned her head to Faye. "How about you?"
Faye grimaced at the question being thrown her way. "Eh...it's kind of embarrassing," she admitted sheepishly. "I don't want to sound needy or anything, but I'm here for the money. I'm between different jobs right now, and I could definitely get some help with the money." She shook her head. "Enough about that though. What do you do for fun when you're at home?"
"Well, I watched Total Drama a lot," Nicolette admitted. "My parents and I love watching it together, it always feels so fun." As she was explaining that, Faye's face fell a bit, but did her best to hide that. "I guess I cook a lot too, and I sing some. I guess my hobbies aren't super interesting." She turned the question around again. "How about you? I know you're a big fan of space and stuff, but what else?"
The astronomer let out a small sigh. "Um...you know, I draw a bit, and I guess I can cook pretty well too." She still sounded a bit on edge from just a second ago. "I don't really-" Her derailing train of thought was saved by an unexpected visitor at the door. Both girls looked up to see one of their teammates standing there. "Oh, Setsuna, how are you?"
"Eh, bored," the archeologist said with a shrug. "I know we're not supposed to go out into the east woods, because they're dangerous, but that makes me want to explore them a little more." She sat herself down on Nicolette's bed, the saint moving over to provide some room. "Anyway, I wanted to gage your thoughts on someone on the team," she said with a slightly more serious tone. "Monty."
Faye raised a confused look to Setsuna. "What's there to say?" she said with a dismissive tone. "I mean, he had a bad first day, but he told us that he was here to work on that issue, and he's doing better. You're not thinking you want to vote him out, right?"
Nicolette quickly interjected as well. "That should not be what we're talking about without him anyway," she defended. "He helped me out in the challenge yesterday, and I still couldn't do anything in the battle, but he gave me some good throwing pointers that helped me out a lot."
Setsuna laughed at the responses. "Wow, you all are quick with the assumptions. Nah, that's not what this is about. I was thinking that I'd make a move on him." That drew total silence from the room. "What? He blew up on Shion day one, sure, but you gotta admit, he's strong and hot. The only other person who fits that description around here has made it very clear that they're taken, both in serious tones and bad joke tones, which for Zev, are pretty much the same."
Nicolette hesitated with a response. She adjusted herself on the bed so she was behind Setsuna's field of view, but Faye could still see her clearly. "Um...I mean, those aren't bad qualities of course," she said slowly, "but do you think he's looking for a relationship? I mean, maybe he's not here for that."
The archeologist chuckled. "Oh, come on, everyone can be convinced," she said with a wink. "I'm sure I could work my magic." She slammed her hands on her legs and leaned in. "But, you two have got to be my wing-women for this, you can do that right?" Before either girl had a chance to respond, Setsuna stood up and clapped. "Great. I'll see you all in a bit!" Once she left, things were much quieter.
As things were wrapping up, there was another knock on the door. This time, it was Chef. "Challenge time, losers, put your wide-brim hats and vests on!" Despite the cook's immensely weird sentence, it was still more normal compared to the thing the two had just heard before that.
Faye: "I don't know what was weirder," she said with a confused look. "The fact Setsuna's asking us to do that instead of her friend Sasha, or Nicolette's response to that request."
Setsuna: "Obviously Monty is hot and would be fun to be with," she said with a grin, "but the real treasure is those two. If I befriend them, we control half the team, and can pick off everyone else, then run the merge with a huge alliance."
RODIN'S HUT, CREVICE
The fourteen contestants were gathered by Rodin's hut, where a large assortment of old fishing gear was sitting around. Chris looked around to see whether or not the other villagers were nearby, but to his surprise, he did not see anyone else. "Good morning, children," Rodin said bluntly to them all. "We decided that while hunting for food is one way of getting it, there is another, and that is the one I prefer."
Rodin cast his fishing line into the water, and then perched it on part of the dock. "Fishing requires patience, serenity, and dedication. Once a fish bites, you need a tactical mind to reel it in, and strong enough arms to make it happen." Just then, there was a bite on the line, and Rodin demonstrated a perfect reel-in, pulling out a giant trout. "I plan on cooking this, so now it is your turn to try. Find a partner."
Alessia instantly grabbed onto Winter, which the bandwagoner reciprocated quickly as well. Chander and Klase also exchanged a high-five, and that left only two members left on Team Persephone. Winslow turned to Syd. "I suppose we will team up for this." Syd gave a thumbs-up to the wanderer, before carefully watching over Alessia's actions. "You have noticed something too," they added in a quieter volume.
Setsuna beat everyone to the race of Monty, leaving an upset Shion especially. "Aww, no fair, I wanted him!" Shion pouted playfully. He let out an exaggerated sigh and turned to Kaif, who was keeping his distance from Sasha. "Looks like us too cuties will have to take this one on."
Zev walked over to Sasha with a shrug. "You know we're not going to separate those girls up, so it's up to us." Sasha looked over as Nicolette and Faye found each other. Seeing they were the only two left, Sasha sighed and walked toward the fishing rods.
Rodin noticed the pairings were slightly different than usual. "Okay, I want the southern group to be on the left side of the dock." Team Gorgeous followed Rodin to the respective side. "Northern Group, you are on the right." Team Persephone went to their spot as well. "Remember, it is unlikely that you will catch something in the short time we spend doing this, but hope your group finds something."
Chris waited for Rodin to leave, but much to his chagrin, the fisherman stayed right on the dock, observing the cast. "You don't have something better to do?" Chris asked in a slightly condescending way. "I can watch the kids if you have other business to get to."
"Actually, I do not," Rodin informed the host. "Not only that, but I trust myself far more than you to protect my fishing gear. I will stay here. You should find Zenthus and get a job to do from him. Chef Hatchet is busy helping Croshia with meals." Chris hesitated at Rodin's blunt request, but seeing no other way around it, he took his leave.
Slowly but surely, the contestants all begin throwing their rods out into the river, and the waiting game was officially afloat. "This can't possibly be the whole challenge," Faye whispered to Nicolette as she watched everyone else waiting with the fishing rods. The astronomer looked up to make sure that Rodin had not heard her. "I guess now we just relax until there's a bite?"
Nicolette shrugged. "I guess so, but things could be way worse." She glanced around to the other end of the dock where Monty and Setsuna were. "What do you think Setsuna's going for over there? Like, it's been a few days. How would we even know what Monty likes?"
Faye turned her attention over there as well. "Well, I know you like music and singing, and I've only known you a few days. We also know Monty likes music, and Setsuna likes dinosaurs, or paleontology in general. If you ask me, it's all for an extra vote. I don't think it's worth all that trouble, so why she's roping us into it is beyond me." She laughed. "I think you're worrying about it a little too much."
The saint nodded slowly. "Yeah, you're probably right. I just don't want anything bad happening to Monty. He's been through a lot in the past few days already. I guess we all have." She turned back to Faye. "Hey...you looked a little upset this morning before Setsuna came in. What was that about, if you don't mind me asking?"
The astronomer took a loud inhale before sighing just as loud. "You know? I don't wanna talk about it right now...maybe after the challenge. I'd rather stay focused on what I'm doing right now." Nicolette nodded understandingly.
Further down the left side of the dock were Sasha, Setsuna, Zev, and Monty, but paired differently than usual today. "This is so relentlessly boring," Setsuna complained as she leaned up against the edge of the dock with a yawn, making sure she ended it staring right at Monty, who was focusing on the fishing rod ahead of him, not really talking at all. "How have you been, Monty? Doing okay?"
"Been just fine, thanks for asking," Monty replied both bluntly and insincerely. "Just focusing on the water right now, I'd like to be the one who got a lot of fish for our team." Nearby, Rodin was watching this conversation out of the corner of his eye. "Do you have a reason you're not also watching the water? I'd think we want to get a jump on the fish as soon as they bite."
Setsuna laughed. "Some things are far more interesting than the water, like you! I hardly know anything about you and it's been days already! You spend all your time hanging out with Shion and the other girls, it's like you forgot about me!"
"That's not really that true," Monty said back. "When we play cards at night, you're typically there too. If you watch and don't play, that's you're fault." Setsuna pouted a bit as she turned to the water with a huff, realizing she was not making much progress for the time being.
"Those two do not seem to be having a good time," Zev said quietly to Sasha. He noticed that the temptress was deeply in thought and staring out at the water. "Do...you wanna switch and take a break? You look slightly disturbed."
Sasha sighed. "I am just fine, I can handle it. I suppose it's just...Kaif and I had a disagreement about something yesterday, and I don't think it ended well. I haven't heard much from him at all since then."
Zev nodded. "Disagreements happen," he replied earnestly. "Look, you should take a step back and decide whether or not your actions were right, or at least justified. If they weren't, that's on you to fix that. Even if they were, it takes sacrifices to make relationship's work."
The temptress paused. "I suppose so, but Kaif is..." she suddenly stopped herself. "...probably going to listen if I apologize." Right then, she started getting a tug on the line. "First bite of the day," Sasha pointed out as she very carefully and methodically reeled in a huge fish from the river. The fish flew in the air, and right into Rodin's large arms. "Sorry," Sasha said with a slight frown.
Rodin inspected the fish that Sasha had pulled out of the water. "This is a rather impressive size," he said with a shrug as he handed the fish back to the girl. "You should consider learning more about fishing with me if you choose to do so. I see real potential as a skilled gatherer in you." Sasha hesitated at the fisherman's unusually kind offer. Rodin then turned to the rest of the team. "South group, you are finished with this section of our day's activities."
"Thank you for the kind offer, Rodin," Sasha replied respectfully. "I suppose fishing is still a rather important profession here. I can assist you while I am here, but that will not be something that I continue after our work here is finished."
"A reasonable response," Rodin agreed. "If you ever seek to learn more, I am here typically if I am not stuck in a frivolous meeting with Zenthus." The fisherman walked away from Sasha and found Monty again, who was coming over to congratulate Zev and Sasha for finding the fish. "Boy, you look rather excited for a single fish that might barely be enough to feed your team."
Monty noticed Rodin's suspicious look instantly, and switched gears. "I guess," the bassist admitted, "but it is still an accomplishment, right? We gotta celebrate those too, or is that not really how things work around here?"
The fisherman sighed. "I suppose you all are still children. Fine. You and the rest of the south group should wait until the north group catches something, then you will be sent to Croshia and Chef Hatchet for the next part of your day."
Sasha: "That was an interesting opening part of the day," Sasha pointed out. "Zev offered decent advice, even though it's not super applicable to the real situation. Maybe I let my brain go overboard a bit on this. Also, Rodin offered me extra fishing lessons, which seems like the first time he's taken an interest in anything."
Over on the other side of the dock, Team Persephone putzed around with no luck at all. "This is so boring," Alessia complained as she sat around with the fishing pole. "Unlike the fish, this actually bites." She turned to find her partner. "Winter, what do you think we should do while we wait for the fish to get to us?"
Winter was distracted, doing their own thing instead, staring blankly at the fish Team Gorgeous had found already. "No way, they already got one," she said quietly to herself. "That means we have to be in on this too." Alessia groaned for a second, and snapped her fingers, dragging Winter back into reality. "Huh? Oh, sorry, what were you saying?"
Alessia sighed. "I'm just so bored, ya know? There's gotta be something we can do to pass the time. We could chat as a team!" She turned to Chander and Klase. "Boys, either of you want to chat and hang out?" Chander and Klase nodded, scooting over. "Winslow, Syd, either of you want to join in on the fun here?"
Syd glanced up at Winslow with an extremely bored expression, but one not desperate enough to go over. "It appears the two of us will pass on your offer," Winslow declined. With a shrug, Alessia began chatting up the three who agreed to hang out. Syd rolled her eyes at how easily they had folded. "I agree with your analysis," Winslow mentioned. "She appears to be trouble."
Syd crossed her arms, shaking her head. "Perhaps it could be fruitful to reclaim her most usable pawn," Winslow offered to the mechanic. "Winter may have folded completely, but Alessia is shirking her chances of being a leader. If we can get our leader in with us, the votes sway in our direction." Syd nodded. "I will see what I can do."
Over with the other members of Team Persephone, things were just as secretive. "Why won't they ever hang out with us?" Alessia mourned facetiously. "If you ask me, I think Syd is sad that Persephone is gone, even though she was a tyrant over here." She warmly glanced at Chander. "Oh, leader, what do you think is the right move here?"
Chander sighed. "I do not want to throw those two away," he said with a careful glance to the two outsiders. "I mean, Syd is clearly skilled in a way none of us are, and Winslow brings their own talents too, and is clearly the most amicable with the villagers themselves. We need them in that way, to make sure that we're not the ones who blow Chris's cover, because you could probably guess what happens then."
"Elimination is the answer to that," Klase added. "I don't care for keeping our real reason from the villagers, but I also would not want to be eliminated because I told them that we're here for totally different reasons."
"Plus, they don't know about that yet anyway," Winter said. "You should wait for someone else to do it first." She looked over at Alessia. "Alessia, what do you think about the villagers?"
Alessia shrugged. "I'm not super concerned about them. I'm more worried about all of you, and I mean just the four of you." She glanced back again at Winslow and Syd, who were enjoying their silence. "I think the four of us could make the final four. What do you think about that?"
Chander hesitated. "Alessia, I appreciate the alliance offer, but...I mean...Syd and Winslow are still our teammates. I don't want to throw them away just for the fact that they won't hang out with us." The performer hesitated at the sad puppy-dog eyes of Alessia. "Why don't we take some time to think about it instead? Come back in a day or so. Let's just win this challenge."
The streamer groaned. "That's so unfun, but I guess if the leader says, than we do it!" She switched right back to her cheery demeanor. She then noticed a tug on one of the lines. "Oh! Klase! That one's on yours!"
The pianist stood up with a sigh. "Of course it is." He rushed over to the fishing rod and began trying to reel it in. It was a rather large fish, as he struggled to being it in, but the pianist's dexterity was once again proving to be quite useful. After some small pushback, Klase pulled the fish out of the water, where Chander pulled it off the line quickly. "Huh, I did it!"
Rodin's attention was finally gotten, and he glanced at the fish Klase presented. Team Persephone looked a bit less interested in their success compared to team Gorgeous. "Well done," Rodin added. "I will fetch Chris then. You all should head to Croshia's workshop for the second part of the day, where she and Chef will be waiting for you."
Chander: "All of the strategy talk is getting heated," he admitted. "Alessia seems to have a lot of faith in me, but I guess if I have to be the leader, I want to be everyone's leader, not just the four who she wants." He sighed. "This is hard."
The teams gathered inside Croshia's workshop, which no one else had been in yet. The inside was split down the middle to serve two purposes. On one side of the room was a full kitchen setup, with stone counters and well-crafted knives and other cutlery. The second half was a dust-ridden, charred up space with dried up globs of metal and dangerous stoves, clearly the original part of the shop.
"Welcome to my personal workspace," Croshia greeted the teams. "In addition to the tool-making that happens for me here, I also cook up anything that Rodin or Thea catch for me. Our meals have mainly been bear and fish the past weeks prior to your arrival, and I do not foresee that changing." She received the fish from Rodin and placed them on either side of the kitchen. "I expect that you all have some semblance of culinary skills, so I would like you to work with your groups to complete dinner for the night."
Croshia and Rodin exited the area to leave Chef and Chris there. "Well, dinner will be our official judging," Chris explained. "You better not screw up your fish, because it is curtains for whichever team sends things down the wrong pipe. Get cooking." With a wink, Chris exited the blacksmith area, leaving the teams to cook.
Outside the workshop, Croshia checked for other people before asking Rodin, "Well? Tell me how your investigation went this afternoon? What did you get from their conversations?"
Rodin looked unfazed by the demanding tone that the blacksmith had taken with him. "I found that the girl from the southern group, Sasha, has a real knack for fishing, she had quite the dexterous approach to the rod as she caught the fish for her group."
Croshia stood in shocked silence for a second, her face falling. "Oh my spirits," she said with a loud groan. "Rodin, you got distracted! I knew we should not have done a fishing activity today." She put her hand on her face with sheer annoyance. "Did you get anything about our actual target today?"
The fisherman put his arms up defensively. "Monty appears rather competition-driven," he explained to Croshia. "In fact, all of them do. I am not sure if that is something that is unique to children of the modern era or if that is just this specific group. It is too early to tell, and we have no one in this village who can speak on the matters of the outside world to verify." He smirked. "I may have gotten invested in the fishing challenge, but do not think I shirked a responsibility that I actually have an interest in."
Croshia sighed. "Fine, that is decent information. I suppose that is enough for now. We will let them do as they please for the rest of the day." She glanced back at the workshop. "I assume you caught your own fish for us to cook instead of eating their catch?" Rodin then provided a fish larger than either group's catch. "Excellent."
CREVICE, CROSHIA'S WORKSHOP
Team Persephone stared at their fish, which was a large salmon Klase brought in from the previous part. "Okay," Chander said aloud, getting the team's attention. "I think the best thing we can do is to cook this normally and not go too crazy. We want a good product more than anything, especially if the villagers have a chance of judging this." He sighed. "We could pan-sear the fish, but there's nothing to season it."
Winslow raised their hand to offer a solution. "On the contrary," they opened up with. "I have found many edible plants in the area that could provide a source of extra flavor on the fish." Chander grinned at the wanderer's suggestion. "If you will excuse me." Winslow excused themselves to go gather up some plants for the fish.
"That's one thing taken care of," Chander said. "Obviously we should worry a little bit about this oil..." he picked up the cooking oil that was sitting in the kitchen area. "It's...some natural mix that I think Croshia made herself? Is it safe?"
Syd grabbed the pan, and using a flint and steel she produced from her backpack, lit a fire to start cooking. "Wow, awesome work, Syd!" Alessia cheered, before instantly turning away with an annoyed look on her face. "Of course they pick right now to start being useful," she griped to herself.
Meanwhile, Team Gorgeous was struggling more with their fish they had caught, a giant cod. "I do not think the villagers will be too picky," Shion commented. "Maybe we just need to not overcook it?"
Kaif nodded. "That could be the best thing to do. I'd even argue that the villagers might get overstimulated with excess seasonings, so maybe we don't really use any." He paused. "Did...Chris say we were cooking for only the villagers ever?"
Faye shook her head. "He...did not. That means that we might just be running around blind here. Should we try and season some of it and be careful on who we sent what part of the fish, or is that too much?" As the strategy talk ensued, Nicolette struggled to say anything, a bit of desperation appearing on her face.
Sasha cleared her throat, grabbing everyone's attention. "That's far too risky, Faye," the temptress said bluntly. "If we want to capture everyone's interest in the fish, we need something that is visually pleasing to everyone. Something plated well for the hosts but also subtle and simple to not overstimulate the villagers as previously stated. Anyone object to that?"
Setsuna was the first to chime in. "I totally agree with that! How about you, Monty?" Monty let out a huff at Setsuna's attempt to include him. "Okay, I guess that means we should start cooking. Team Persephone is way ahead already."
With about ten minutes left, both teams were finalizing their plating. Winslow had returned with seasoning. "Greetings," they said to their team. "I have returned with natural flavors that should be pleasing to everyone." Klase quickly grabbed the seasonings from Winslow and finished off their salmon with it.
Right at that moment, Chris walked in. "Okay, everyone! It's officially judging time! You'll eat whatever you cooked today, and so will myself, Chef, and Zenthus. Meet me in the woods half an hour after dinner, and I'll give you the results!"
Alessia: "Of course, leave it to Syd and Winslow to start being useful the moment I target them." She grumbled. "Playing this game without my planned strategy of just flirting my way through is going to be annoying. I have to emotionally support Chander or else he'll stop being leader. I have to keep telling Winter about streaming trends because they're only interested in that for some reason, who are these people? At least I knew exactly what I was getting with Persephone."
Kaif: "Was it just me, or did Sasha support my ideas in the cooking section? Something obviously switched in her. I'm still a big 'no' on that alliance offer, that's just not how I play. I guess I'll just have to flirt around with someone else now that Sasha isn't going to be in love with me anymore."
Setsuna: "Monty is not leaving himself open," she admitted. "I need to thank Shion for wearing him down a bit on the first day, but I'll get him, and if I don't, I'll get the other girls on my side, and I know just how to do it."
CREVICE, MEETING HALL
Dinner was quieter and more tense than normal. Rodin and Croshia were observing over everything as they ate the fish Rodin made for them and Thea. The huntress in question was staring down anyone who accidentally looked in her direction, spending a lot of time chewing down on her bear meat too. The three judges sat by the front in a small circle. "Could you remind me on why we need to decide which group cooked a better fish?" Zenthus questioned the hosts.
"Obviously to help out," Chris defended quickly. "We want the other group who did well to share their tricks with the group who did not do as well, that way anyone can cook. We saw they all could fish, so this is the next best option." Chef sighed quietly to himself as Chris lied effortlessly to the guardian.
Zenthus nodded. "Very well." Completely ignoring how the fish was plated, Zenthus tried the salmon first. "The flavors are unique," he admitted. "I believe I recognize some tastes from the area. Croshia occasionally uses some of these herbs in her cooking as well. I would suggest that they continue to do so." He then tasted the cod. "Unfortunately, this one is rather bland, but nutritious nonetheless. I would suggest some extra herbs from the salmon, but otherwise it is still a rather fine preparation." He looked over to Chef. "Does that qualify?"
Chef nodded. "That's gonna be fine," he said. "Thank you for your time and your thoughts on that." He turned to Chris. "I'm leaning toward the salmon as well. I have no clue where they found those plants, but they definitely did well. The plating of the cod was a bit more appealing though. Personally, I like to enjoy looking at my food I make too, so it's a tough call."
Chris nodded. "Okay, so that's one for the salmon, and one for the cod. Sounds like a productive day." He looked over to Zenthus. "Thanks for your help on that. As thanks for this, we'll do your culture study tomorrow for sure." He stood up. "Okay, helpers!" Chris announced, getting the attention of the cast. "I need you all to meet me by the southern end of the woods for now. We'll discuss plans for tomorrow there and do our nighttime ritual a bit later."
Thea swallowed a piece of bear meat and turned to Rodin and Croshia. "Nighttime ritual?" she asked. "That is where they hold up the deal and send someone away. Do you suggest we investigate?"
Croshia put her hands up defensively to stop Thea in her tracks. "Thea," the blacksmith said sternly. "You know Zenthus would not permit that. Additionally, we are sharing our culture with them soon. It would not be fitting to intrude on theirs without properly sharing ours." Thea nodded obediently, while Rodin stayed focused on the group, watching as everyone left normally, a skeptic look appearing on his face.
CREVICE, WOODS
Once everyone got to the woods, Chris had a grin on his face, knowing that everyone was no longer on his tail for the day. "Congrats on surviving another day in the Alaskan Wilderness," he said enthusiastically, "but that ends for one of you soon!" He laughed as everyone had nervous looks on their faces. "Just a heads-up, tomorrow will be a tough day to keep this secret thing up, so I need everyone on their A-game tomorrow."
Chris continued. "Anyway, both teams did pretty well, but it's results time." He looked over to Team Gorgeous first. "Team Gorgeous, Chef appreciated your playing of the food, and gave you his vote." Sasha smirked at her successful plan as Chris turned his attention to Team Persephone. "Team Persephone, Zenthus enjoyed your extra seasoning, earning his vote thanks to the edible plants used." Sasha's face fell at that news, and Winslow grinned. "Finally, my vote. After a grueling day of secret-keeping, I want fish that tastes good above all else. My vote is going to Team...Persephone!"
Team Persephone cheered, and Chander let out a giant sigh of relief. Winslow looked rather pleased with themselves for earning the win. "Team Gorgeous, your team's winning streak is over, so that means that we will be sending one of you home for real this time! No more Monty-like eliminations!" Monty grimaced at the reminder of him almost being sent home.
As everyone walked back, Nicolette sighed. "This is probably my fault," she said to Faye quietly. "I wish I could have helped more, but I feel like I'm not really good at fishing, and I was so stressed in the cooking portion I didn't say anything either...it's probably going to be me going home."
Faye let out a quiet sigh as they walked back to their cabin in relative silence. "Nicolette, this morning you asked me why I was so upset when you mentioned something simple like spending time with your parents." The saint glanced over to see Faye in distress again. "I don't really go around telling this to people, but you look upset, and I want to share something with you because you're my friend."
The astronomer took one final look outside, triple-checking that no one else was even remotely close by, and then shut the door, placing a rock underneath the bottom to keep it from moving as much. Faye let out a loud sigh and looked over at Nicolette. "Nicolette, to put it plainly, I don't think you should leave, but I can't imagine someone as selfless as you will take that at face value, so I want to try a different approach."
Faye smiled. "I was able to do the same thing as you for a while. When I was home, my whole life was spending time with my parents. I'd read space books with my mom before I went to bed, and she'd tell me all sorts of facts about the stuff we read about. I'd also spend time with my dad gazing up at the sky with him. He knew a lot too, since he's an astronaut. He'd laugh whenever I shared a fact about a place in the sky he'd been to. That was me for a while, and then suddenly it wasn't."
Nicolette sat quietly as Faye's face fell, stopping the reminiscing and continuing her story. "One day when I was eight, my dad went up for a mission and didn't come back. He's been missing since then. Since that explosion, I've tried looking for him, but found nothing yet." She sighed. "Unlike me, who never lost hope, my mom did. She lost hope when I was nine, and I watched as she took her own life."
Faye shook as she spoke now, Nicolette listening as respectfully as she could. "For the last ten years, I've been in foster care. I tried living on my own for a bit, but that backfired pretty quick. But, I'm here now, and so are you. Part of me thought that this would be a good opportunity to explore more of Earth, but in reality, I need the money, and I need it bad. I've been alone ever since then."
"Faye..." was all Nicolette could muster for a while. She watched as Faye slowly regained her composure. Suddenly, all of the saint's problems felt irrelevant and meaningless. "I...I'm so sorry all of that happened, and I'm sorry I dragged you into my problems too. I was being selfish."
"That's not what I meant for you to get from that," Faye said stately. "Nicolette, even though we've known each other for like, three days, you're my best friend I've had in years, and while yes, you probably don't deserve to leave anyway, I want you to know that I still need you here. If you are not going to save yourself because you want to win, I want you to save yourself because I want to have a friend here. Is that okay for me to ask?"
Nicolette nodded, pulling the astronomer into a hug. "Faye, of course that's okay. I'll stay here as long as you need me to. I promise not to make you get this emotional again over one of my problems too."
Faye: "Well, to be honest, I was not planning on being that emotional today," she admitted. "But, her head's back in the game." She shuddered. "For those wondering, that did not feel any better to get off of my chest."
Nicolette: "I thought I was struggling here," she said solemnly. "I need to stay here longer to help Faye out."
On another side of Team Gorgeous's shacks, there were cards going on. "Ooh, lucky me tonight!" Shion cheered, winning another hand, adding more small pebbles to his winnings. "How about one more round? We have some time before we gotta vote."
Kaif snickered. "You know, Shion, with the luck you've been having, we might just vote you out so we can start winning some hands!" Shion paused for a second before Kaif laughed again. "Joking, of course, it was your idea to keep it simple that got us at least one vote from the judges."
Monty collected the cards, dealing out another hand. "Okay, last round." He turned to Kaif. "See? I told you you'd enjoy yourself if you just hung out with us." The game began again, and Sasha took that opportunity to get up and walk out of the shack. "There she goes. Always up to something I think. I know she's suspicious, but I wanna turn the vote on Setsuna tonight if we can. She's busy trying to pull a Shion."
The Japanese boy giggled at the terminology. "I wouldn't mind that option," Zev added. "I think we could get her out with four votes. Although, what if we took out Sasha instead? That could be something that we do too, and although you'd hate it, Monty, we could wait a day to take out Setsuna."
Kaif shook his head. "Sorry, I'm not really an alliance person. I'm just gonna vote for whoever I think didn't help out enough in the challenge, and Sasha got our fish and took my idea to plate it nicely for Chef's liking. Hope that's okay."
Zev nodded. "Of course. Sasha would be happy to hear you're not turning on her." Zev laughed at that comment, which forced Kaif to nervously laugh along with it. "Okay, the three of will vote Setsuna then. You can join us if you want."
Sasha stepped away from the window where she had been listening secretly, and went to the archeologist in their shack. "It's as I thought," Sasha said. "The instant I walked out, they started to plot against us. We're the two main targets, but it's mainly you." Setsuna widened her eyes at that news. "So...we need at least four votes to keep ourselves safe. Kaif practiced what he preached and is voting on his own."
Setsuna groaned. "None of the boys will vote with us, but we can establish a numbers advantage by dropping one of them, and I have the perfect idea." She stood up with a confident smirk. "Leave it to me, Sasha. I'm going to take care of all of our troubles at once!" She skipped out of the room, leaving a slightly confused Sasha.
ELIMINATION IV: TEAM GORGEOUS
All eight members of Team Gorgeous arrived at the campfire, where Chef and Chris were waiting with seven rock in their hands. "Look at that, a full team," Chris mused. "Been a whole day or two since I've seen one of those here. Anyway, that's the last time that'll happen, because one of you is on your way out of here!" He laughed. "So, tell me about it, what did we mess up today?"
"There was not much to mess up," Faye spoke calmly, completely back to normal from earlier. "We got a fish first, which we thought would be enough to give us an advantage or anything, but clearly it was not." Chris smirked at the team's annoyance of that. "But, we tried and failed, that's all there is too it."
Chris nodded. "Thank you, space girl, here's a space rock for you." He threw Faye the first rock of the night. "Faye's safe. Anyway, also safe tonight is going to be Zev and Shion!" The musician and the tall boy grinned as they each caught their rocks as well. "Monty, you're safe!" The bassist let out a small huff as he caught his rock. The boys nodded knowingly at each other as they saw who was left.
There were only three rocks left. "...Sasha," was the next name called. The temptress looked slightly relieved to receive a rock, but still appeared slightly nervous for Setsuna, who was waiting rock-less next to her. There were only two rocks left. "Nicolette." The saint let out a loud and desperate sigh as she got her rock, looking extremely relieved to be in the game still.
Chris held up the final rock. "Neither of you really did anything today to warrant going home," Chris pointed out. "Setsuna and Kaif, this is the final rock. As much as neither of you really deserve it, our contract says we gotta get rid of someone to drop the suspicions of Thea and Zenthus every day. One of you goes right now, and that person will be...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...Kaif." Setsuna smirked as she caught the final rock, causing Kaif to widen his eyes in shock. "Kaif, you've been voted out of Total Drama Ancient Abodes."
Kaif stood up. "Well, that was surprising," he said with a shrug. "I honestly did not think this is why I would go down." He glanced over at Sasha, who with a sad look, mouthed a 'sorry' to him. "Okay, well, I guess I gotta go flirt with Persephone or Harvey now." He shuddered. "Or maybe I wait for one of you to get wherever we're going instead."
Chef escorted Kaif to the Raft of Losers, where he willingly stepped on and left with a wave. As Kaif drifted out of sight, there was still a tense air as everyone slowly started returning to their shacks for the night. Only Setsuna had a glow on her face.
Setsuna: "Nicolette looked really stressed after the challenge, and so I told her that Kaif was targeting her, which clearly was true, since she was in the bottom three. Leave it to my wing-women to come in clutch with the last two votes. Sasha's a bit peeved that it had to be Kaif, but she'll get over it."
Chris chuckled. "Oh, the tension is just palpable on that once-happy team! How will they fare tomorrow! Will Team Persephone keep up their winning record or will they throw it out? Can Setsuna get this target off of her back? Find out next time on Total! Drama! Ancient Abodes!"
LOSER ISLAND
Kaif stepped off of the raft to the beach of Loser Island, where he wandered around. He noticed Harvey there, already throwing rocks at birds. "Oh, you're here," Kaif said calmly. "Where...are we?" Harvey, instead of answering the question, threw a rock at Kaif, who sidestepped it. The lover found a sign and began to read it.
Welcome to Loser Island. This is not your end. There may be another chance to redeem yourself.
"A second chance," Kaif mused. "That's really interesting." He looked around to find anyone else. "Where is Persephone?"
Harvey scoffed, finally responding. "That dumb broad went into the woods, claiming to be 'training'." He made obscene fake quotes with his fingers. "Anyway, she might've died out there, I haven't really checked in on her, not my style. What're you gonna do?"
Kaif shuddered at the man-child's comments. "Okay, well, first things first, I'm going to make sure Persephone's okay, and then...I don't know, wait for something to magically fall in love with here."
Vote Confessionals:
Faye: "Well, Setsuna warned me of my literal worst fear coming to happen. Sorry, Kaif, you did this to yourself."
Kaif: "I'll just vote for who I don't think helped out." He sighed. "Sorry, Nicolette, you didn't do a lot today."
Monty: "I'll gladly vote Setsuna. I'm not gonna make a big outburst again, I'm gonna handle it like an adult and vote her out."
Nicolette: "After Faye said she needed me here...sorry, Kaif, you need to go."
Sasha: "It's annoying that Kaif has to leave," she admitted, "but him not being an alliance person will hurt me before it helps me."
Setsuna: "Hopefully this pans out well, I have trust in my wing-women. Sorry, Kaif."
Shion: "Looks like we're voting out Setsuna. It isn't me, and that's all that matters!"
Zev: "I feel bad turning on my shack-mate now that we're not bitter enemies, but this is our best move. Sorry, Setsuna."
Current Teams:
Team Gorgeous: Faye, Monty, Nicolette, Sasha, Setsuna, Shion, Zev
Team Persephone: Alessia, Chander, Klase, Syd, Winslow, Winter
Eliminated: Harvey, Persephone, Kaif
And we've unfortunately lost Kaif. Kaif was a super interesting character I got submitted, and I still have some plans for him, I think he'll be one of the more prominent Loser Island characters, and most of his development will actually happen over there. Will it all happen in one stretch there or will he return to the game and have his time there cut short? Find out soon!
Anyway, the challenge today was really a social challenge, and it was needed to spark off some plots. As we heard, we'll be doing some cultural studies of Crevice next time!
The other big scene today was Faye's backstory, which I really hope I did an okay job of retelling. Faye was one of the characters that I left in the background until today so this would be a big episode for her, and I have a couple of other characters I've been doing the same thing for.
Anyway, I don't think I have much else. Next chapter should come out faster since I'm really excited to write that elimination. I do not hate the character that's being eliminated, but the way it's done is set up really well I think.
Anyway, I've announced it some other places, but I have some other projects in the works that I will share here at the halfway mark for this story. Let me know what you thought of the chapter in the reviews! I'll see you next time!
