Kingdom Evil Remake 2.
Quick Note – Before we get into the chapter, I have something important I want to mention and it's about the chapter title for this chapter. Don't worry, the title will still be the same as I mentioned at the end of the previous chapter, only slightly different.
I have decided to change the chapter title to just Meeting Claire Redfield. The reason why is because I didn't feel like writing the zombie encounter right after Sora arrived in the Resident Evil world and meets Claire; it would've been too much for the former to take in since he had literally escaped from the darkness. Not to mention, he has no idea where he is at, considering it's a new world he has never visited before.
And to be honest…I haven't really been thinking much about the zombie encounter in this chapter, but only Sora's thoughts about being in a new world he has no knowledge of and the meeting between him and Claire. So, from this point on, I am changing the chapter title from Meeting Claire Redfield and Zombie Encounter to Meeting Claire Redfield.
Alright, that is what I wanted to say in the quick note. I know many of you guys would be disappointed about not reading the zombie encounter in this chapter, but I feel like Sora should enjoy his innocence first before he gets thrusted into a very dark nightmare that will change his life and haunt him forever.
With what I said out of the way, it's time to get on with the story. Let's head right into the chapter!
Enjoy the chapter.
Chapter Three: Meeting Claire Redfield.
Previously in the last chapter.
If Sora expected to arrive back on Destiny Islands where he assumed the Guardians of Light were still at and wondering what the hell happened to him after the bright light engulfed his body, then he was in for a rude wakeup call. He was not being transported to his home, but to a different place, a place that is very much different than the worlds he had been to, a place where there is so much evil it made the evil people Sora faced paled to comparison…and a place where he'll lose his innocence.
Sora wasn't sure what was taking the bright light so long to transport him into the land of living, but as soon as it died down and he felt his feet touch solid ground, he got a look at his surroundings. What he saw made him frown in confusion.
From what Sora could see, which is hard since it's currently night time and raining heavily, soaking him from top to bottom, he was standing on a lonely road in a very large field with numerous light poles on the right side, extending onwards and downwards. There wasn't a single person around, no cars driving by or any buildings, except a small gas station a bit distance away. Everything was just completely silent.
Despite appearing in the middle of nowhere odd, it didn't stop Sora from voicing out the words that came to his mind.
"Where am I?"
(In the Present; With Sora)
Sora has absolutely and cluelessly no idea where he was at all. He's in an unfamiliar land in a unfamiliar world he has no knowledge of, and he was on the verge of panicking because there wasn't a single person around to ask questions about where he is. He never liked the idea of having no one to talk to since it leaves a depressing feeling in his heart. It was this inspiration that made Sora gain as many friends as possible in different worlds so he could have someone to talk to if he decides to visit said worlds in the Gummi Ship.
But unfortunately, Sora was in an unfamiliar world with no friend in said world to talk to, leaving him not only completely alone but no idea what to do. He had never traveled solo to unfamiliar worlds before in the Realm of Light, even though he did travel solo to a few unfamiliar worlds in the Realm of Sleep for his Mark of Mastery exam. Like in the darkness he had been transported to moments ago, Sora needed to figure out where he was by himself.
However, Sora can't figure out where he was at the moment since he's still on the verge of panicking, which needed to be taken care of quickly before it's too late.
"Okay, calm down, Sora, calm down," Sora muttered, trying to ease the panic feeling inside him. "Having a panic attack in the middle of nowhere in a unfamiliar world won't solve anything but would make the situation worse. You shouldn't let panic overtake you after realizing there's nobody around to ask questions about where you are. Take a deep breath through the nose and let it out with the mouth."
Doing what he instructed by taking a deep breath through the nose and letting it out with the mouth, Sora felt a wave of calmness and peace overtake his body, along with his mind, which made it easier to take in the situation. Having a calm mind without panicking will make things easier to think during any type of situation, including dire or dangerous ones. It was how Aqua defeated the possessed Terra in Radiant Garden thirteen years ago after tracking him down, despite her wanting to become sad and cry at seeing her friend being possessed by Xehanort.
There were a couple things Sora did after calming down and gaining a calm mind. The first thing he did was check to see if his body is in one whole piece instead of many pieces. When he got killed by the massive Demon Tide during the final battle in the Keyblade Graveyard, he got sent to the Final World where his body split into many pieces, forcing the spiky brunette to do a rather long search and collect game to reconstruct his body. He did not enjoy collecting pieces of his body at all since it was very weird collecting them.
Thankfully, Sora's body is in one whole piece instead of being a ghost upon arriving in this unfamiliar world and he let out a huge sigh of relief. He was glad he thought about checking his body first after calming down from his near panic attack. If he had to do the search and collect game to reconstruct his body again…
Not wanting to even think about the search and collect game he had to endure in the Final World, Sora quickly moved on with the other things he wanted to check after calming down. The second thing he did was check to see if he could summon the Keyblade in his hand, even though Chirithy did say he'll lose his powers after using the Power of Waking. Since he did use the power, Sora was sure the Keyblade wouldn't appear in his held-out hand.
But Sora's great surprise and shock, however, the Keyblade he started out with in his very first journey – Kingdom Key, a classic skeleton key with a silver, medium-length cylinder blade with the teeth shaped like a crown, a blue rainguard, a golden square cross-guard, a black hilt and a sliver keychain with King Mickey's Disney Castle logo at the end of the keychain dangling off the cross-guard – appeared in his hand by a flash of light.
'I can still summon my Keyblade?' Sora thought shockingly and surprisingly as he stared at Kingdom Key in his hand with wide eyes. 'How? I thought Chirithy said I'll lose my Keyblade powers once I used the Power of Waking, which I did to bring Kairi back. So…why do I still have my Keyblade?' Sora began thinking a few scenarios in his head to figure out why the Keyblade stayed with him after vanishing it. 'Is it because my heart is so strong with all the bonds I made during my three journeys the Keyblade decided to stay with me or is it because I'm on a Keyblade Master level like Riku and Aqua?'
Sora believed it was his strong heart that made the Keyblade stayed with him instead of vanishing like Chirithy said after using the Power of Waking. It has to be the only explanation why the weapon stayed since being on a Keyblade Master level like Riku and Aqua doesn't seem an actual reason, despite it could be an added possibility with the strong heart.
Like what he thought before in the darkness, Sora had made many speeches about the heart, which the heart itself allowed him to escape the darkness when he couldn't summon his Keyblade. Thinking about the heart caused him to replay all the speeches he made during his three journeys.
"Now, I finally know what you mean about strength of heart. Mine comes from Donald and Goofy. If we stick together, we're unbeatable. Not even Hercules stands a chance. With these guys beside me, I'm ready for anything!"
"I know now I don't need the Keyblade. I've got a better weapon: My heart. Although my heart may be weak, it's not alone. It's grown with each new experience, and it's found a home with all the friends I've made. I've become a part of their heart just as they've become a part of mine. And if they think of me now and then…if they don't forget me…then our hearts will be one."
"The heart may be weak and sometimes…it may even give in. But I've learned that deep down, there's a light that never goes out!"
"Xemnas…there's more to a heart than just anger or hate. It's full of all kinds of feelings. Don't you remember?"
"Just stop it! You treat people's hearts like bottles on a shelf, but they're not! Hearts are made of the people we meet and how we feel about them. They're what ties us together even when we're apart! They're what…make me strong."
"A heart can live anywhere. Even inside data. There are hearts all around us."
"Distance doesn't matter. Andy's part of their hearts, just like my friends are part of mine. You can't rip that apart! There are hearts are all around us, trying to connect. Your 'loneliness' only made Woody's and Buzz's connection stronger. That's the heart's true nature: To never, ever let go. Wherever they are, Andy and the other toys haven't let go either."
'Yeah…I was right about my theory,' Sora thought, feeling a smile appearing on his face, the first one ever, from thinking about all the speeches he made. 'The only reason why the Keyblade didn't vanish after I used the Power of Waking was because all the bonds I made during my three journeys. My heart and I grew strong with all these bonds and in turn, this made the Keyblade stay with me.' The smile on Sora's face grew bigger as he stared at his right hand where he first got the Keyblade three years ago. 'I am so glad I still retained my powers.'
Still having the smile on his face, Sora moved on with the other things he wanted to check. The third thing he did was check to see if he still had the Gummiphone with him in his pocket, which was thankfully there upon placing a hand inside, much to his relief. However, he didn't take it out because of the heavy rain, and he was planning to head towards the small gas station for shelter once the spiky brunette gets done with the other things he wanted to check.
The Gummiphone is a recently built device created by Chip and Dale, engineers and mechanics of the Gummi Block technology. It is made of Gummi Blocks and its appearance is very much like any smartphone, a black screen, a red and black square case with a silver button on the right side, another silver button with a black logo of Disney Castle below the screen, four golden circles in the front – two on top and two on bottom – and a golden crown accessory.
The purpose of the Gummiphone was to have the Guardians of Light stay in contact with each other if they are across various worlds or doing separate tasks to thwart Organization XIII. That way, they can give each other their own updates about what they had learned. The Gummiphone was probably Chip's and Dale's most brilliant invention and incredible device in the universe.
Sora had been using the Gummiphone the whole time during his third journey after learning its existence when he received his new garments from Master Yen Sid. Although he didn't understand how the device works at first, given he's not extremely good at any sort of technology. He almost broke the real Ansem's computer when it didn't tell him, Donald and Goofy much information about Nobodies or the previous Organization XIII. But after a few coaching tips from Jiminy the Cricket, who had learned about the creation of the Gummiphone, Sora was able to understand and use the device with relatively ease.
The fourth and final thing Sora did upon moving on was checked to see if he still had his silver crown necklace around his neck, which was thankfully there like the Gummiphone in his pocket, much to his extreme great relief. The necklace had been a birthday gift from his mother, and he always wears it everywhere he goes, except in the showers or in bed. If Sora had lost his trademark crown necklace his mother given to him after vanishing from Destiny Islands, then he would've become extremely depressed.
Now that Sora has finished checking out all the important things he did after calming down from his near panic attack, it's time to head towards the small gas station for shelter against the heavy rain, which is now starting to make him not only feel extremely cold and wet but let out loud sneezes from a running nose. He was starting to regret checking out all the important things he did in the open field where it's raining heavily instead of underneath a roof.
Yeah, Sora should've headed towards the small gas station right after calming down from his near panic attack when he realized he was completely alone in a unfamiliar world he still has no knowledge of. If he did, then he wouldn't be this cold and wet while letting out loud sneezes from a running nose to begin with; he would've been still wet, but not cold and have a running nose.
And so, after giving himself a slight bonk in the head for making such a stupid decision, Sora began running towards the small gas station he spotted the moment he arrived in the unfamiliar world, intending to get out of the heavy rain, dry himself off with the Keyblade and using the Gummiphone to see if he could contact his friends. Sora wonders how they were doing now. Were they trying to figure out where he is or are they still taking his sudden disappearance hard like Kairi?
Either way, Sora hopes his friends are okay.
As he continued running towards the small gas station in the heavy rain, doing his best to push away the coldness, Sora's mind began to wander about the recent developments that had just happened after vanishing from Destiny Islands. Why didn't Chirithy told him he would get transported in the darkness first before appearing in another world after using the Power of Waking? Did he neglect to mention that fact or had no idea what would happen? Sora believed it was the former since the plushy cat doll, along with the younger version of Xehanort, did knew much about the Power of Waking than him, only that it is used to wake up people's sleeping hearts.
Still, though, the question remains in Sora's mind: Why didn't Chirithy told him he would get transported to the darkness first before appearing in another world after using the Power of Waking?
But more importantly, why did Sora get sent to this particular world?
Because Sora was deep into his thoughts about the recent developments that had happened after vanishing from Destiny Islands, as well as Chirithy not telling him about getting transported to the darkness first before appearing in another world while wondering why he got sent to this said world, he did not notice he had already arrived at the small gas station. It only took the lack of raindrops hitting him to finally be aware where he was, making the spiky brunette blink his eyes a few times. When did he already arrived without realizing?
"I guess I pulled a sudden Captain Jack Sparrow arrival," Sora mused, chuckling at his joke as he remembers the pirate captain in the Caribbean world suddenly appearing on the Leviathan he, Donald and Goofy found in a huge cave on an island.
Pushing the joke aside, Sora summoned his Keyblade in his hand and raised it in the air to cast a drying spell, followed by a heating spell, on himself, which made his wet clothes and hair become dry at first before becoming extremely warm that made the coldness he felt a few moments ago vanished. Thanks to Donald's and Merlin the Wizard's teachings, Sora was able to become extremely proficient at casting powerful magic, including ones that require years of studying and practicing. He is like the ultimate prodigy who can adapt to anything or situation with ease.
Once dried and warm, Sora vanished his Keyblade, took out his Gummiphone from his pocket, turned it on and began calling one of his friends to tell them he was alright, only for the call to end in failure. This made him frown while becoming a bit worried at the same time since the device had never done that before during his third journey. But there's still an important question: Why did the call ended in failure when it never happened before?
Seeing he couldn't contact one friend, Sora decided to contact another friend, only for the same thing to happened with first one. Now starting to become more worried from seeing two calls ended in failure, he tried calling every friend on the list of contacts in the Gummiphone, but every attempt ended in failure, which is making him more worried than before but extremely angry. Why is the stupid phone not working at all?! It wasn't until one more failure that Sora gave up on trying to contact his friends.
'Great, I can't contact the Guardians of Light with the Gummiphone,' Sora thought sadly, sighing heavily as he turned off the Gummiphone and put it away in his pocket before taking deep breaths to calm his extreme anger down. 'I don't understand why it's doing that since it never happened before. Does it need a stronger connection, or does it need to be recharged? Ugh, I don't know! I don't even know anything about technology!' Sora sighed heavily again as he leaned against a gas pump before sliding downwards to sit on the ground, hands holding his head. 'This is such a bad start. Not only do I have no idea where I am or what this world is, but I can't contact my friends. I just wish there is someone I can talk to and ask questions about where I am.'
As if the sky was answering Sora's wishes, the sound of a roaring engine like a motorcycle or a truck filled the air, making him raised his head upwards to see where it's coming from. It was apparently coming from the empty street and moving towards the gas station where he's currently taking shelter against the heavy rain. This made Sora extremely happy because he's about to meet someone who could tell him where he is, and he quickly stood up from his spot to get ready to greet the person.
Soon, the roaring engine sound got closer to the gas station and Sora witness a motorcycle with a rider on top, completely soak to the bone, apart from the head that is currently covered by a white helmet, entering the driveway before parking underneath the gas pump roof. From there, the rider turned off the motorcycle's engine and reached upwards to pull off the white helmet with both hands, making Sora's breath be taken away upon seeing the rider's face.
The rider on the motorcycle revealed to be a very pretty petite-built young woman who looked to be a couple years older than Sora, probably one or two. She had long, brown hair with two bangs framing her face and a loose ponytail in the back, fair skin, red lipstick on her lips and blue eyes. She was also taller than Sora by two inches, something that made him lose his breath-taking state and internally wailed in despair. What is with everyone, namely girls, being taller than him? He didn't like it and he didn't like being short.
The young woman's attire consisted of a sleeveless, button-up reddish-pink vest with a brown knife sheath on her left shoulder, which held a knife, a black sleeveless shirt underneath, short reddish-pink shorts with longer black shorts underneath, a brown belt, a brown pouch in the back with the strap looped sideways around in a circle and leather, knee-high dark brown boots. She also had a black gun strap wrapped around her right leg, which held her gun, and a metal feather with a light blue gem necklace around her neck.
The young woman placed the white helmet in her hands on the motorcycle and looked around at the gas station, her blue eyes landing on Sora, who was still having an inner turmoil about being short. She looked greatly surprised to see a lonely slightly younger teenager out in an open field so late at night. She wondered where he came from and who he is.
"Who are you?" The young woman asked curiously, discreetly moving her hands towards the gun strap where her gun is. While the younger teenager doesn't seem dangerous but totally innocent, it's better to be prepared just in case.
"Huh?" Sora snapped out of his inner turmoil after hearing the young woman's voice. It was beautiful and sounded like an angel. "What did you say?"
"I asked who you are. What's your name?"
"I…" Sora trailed off, not sure what to say. What can he even say when he's at a loss for words? He was meeting one of the prettiest girls he has ever seen that is making his heart beat faster with a blush appearing on his features. Sora wasn't sure how to describe this feeling inside him, but he is assuming it's shyness from meeting someone new, which is quite odd since he never had a problem when meeting new people.
So, after taking a deep breath to calm his sudden nerves, Sora let a large wide grin filled with brightness appeared on his face as he introduced himself to the young woman. "My name is Sora. What's your name?"
Seeing the large wide grin on Sora's made the young woman smile as well, proving he was not dangerous at all, which convinced her to move her hand away from the gun strap. She didn't know why she was smiling, but it's probably because the grin filled with brightness looked so damn cute on the boy's face, which made her own heart beating faster with a blush appearing on her face.
When the young woman realized she was blushing, she shook her head a bit desperately in an attempt to get rid of it. For some strange reason, she did not want Sora to see the blush on her face. If he did, then he would ask a question that'll make her feel embarrassed. Once the young woman's face was back to its normal color, she then went to answer Sora's question about her name.
"My name is Claire, Sora, Claire Redfield."
And done! That's the ending of the chapter! I'm so glad I got this done because I was starting to become a bit stressed from writing, especially the gas station arrival part. I didn't know if I should let Sora investigate the place or just have him move on with his original mission, which is contacting his friends after getting out of the heavy rain. In the end, I decided to do the latter since the next chapter will be the zombie encounter.
Like I said in the beginning of this chapter, I haven't really been thinking much about the zombie encounter, so the next chapter could take a while for me to write. I hope it doesn't because I want to work more on this story.
Anyways, here is a new chapter for this story and I hope you guys enjoy it.
Write a review if you like this story and enjoy the chapter.
Next Chapter: Zombie Encounter.
