This place is beautiful, but living here seems exhausting Bonnie's first thought as she walked into the mausoleum, Freya had told her to come by at 10, so they could leave to go to the club together. She was praying that she didn't run into Klaus cause if she did, she just might melt his brain after he promised to call her two days ago but never did.
"Bonnie, you are actually here," she hears a voice say from behind, she turns to see Rebekah, and Bonnie gives her a weak wave before continuing to admire the house, she didn't have anything against the vampire but what do they even have in common.
"So I heard you are befriending my siblings," Rebekah says, Bonnie furrows her eyebrows and shakes her head.
"the only Mikealson, I get along with is Freya," Bonnie says "No offence to you, our interactions were limited but still," Bonnie quickly adds.
"So why do you smell like Nik," Rebekah asks raising her eyebrows, Bonnie avoids Rebekah's gaze, as she remembered the last time she saw Nik.
"Oh, um well you see," Bonnie starts to stammer but luckily Freya walks in and Bonnie greets her instead, she wasn't close enough to Rebekah to her what she and Klaus were doing nor would she want to hear.
"Are you guys ready?" Freya asked
"Yep, just catching up with Bonnie about someone we both know,"Rebekah says.
"I'll give you a tour next time you're here," Freya said, Bonnie looked at Freya and admired her, she looked gorgeous, she truly is a Mikealson
" So Bonnie, do you plan to go home with someone tonight or do we have to watch your back,"Rebekah asks with a knowing smirk. No way, she picked up on something.
"I haven't got laid in a while," a month and half to be precise, "but if I'm sober enough by the end to see he is not ugly maybe," Bonnie says. Freya agrees with her. Rebekah starts to talk endlessly as walk towards the club.
"Drinks are on me by the way," Bonnie goes to protest, but she doesn't see the point, she knows she's not using Freya for her money plus spending rich friend isn't bad right? Not that Bonnie was struggling she still had her dads money and also some money from Grams plus Damon's visa card from when he gave it to her. If push came to shove Bonnie would become a witch for hire.
Bonnie smiles at the sisters as they entered the club, and Rebekah immediately goes to the bar and orders them around of a few shots, Rebekah grabs her, so they can dance, they eventually part to go dance with separate people but Bonnie tries to be hyper aware, in case there is trouble. Freya finds her way to Bonnie on the dance floor.
"Relax, Bonnie, no one would be stupid enough to attack you here," Freya tells her, giving her a next shot. Bonnie shakes her head as she takes the shot and looks around for a dance partner, she spots a redhead with green eyes and goes up to him.
Bonnie spent most of the night grinding against him, halfway drunk until she feels him disappear, she turns and her confused green eyes clashes with amused blue ones. Klaus gives her a smile.
"Having fun without me" He asks. Bonnie rolls her eyes at him and walks towards the bar to get another shot.
"Are you alright?" Klaus asks her, putting his hands on her shoulder.
"noooo, I was hoping to see you when I was less sober, so I could melt your brain" Bonnie blurts out, she lets out a giggle damn I'm supposed to be ignoring him.Freya comes next to her looking at Klaus as if he would attack Bonnie in the middle of the club,
"are you okay," Freya asks her with concern in her voice, Bonnie nods at her and picks up her shot, but Klaus takes it away from her. Which causes Freya to raise her eyebrows at him.
"I need to talk to her for a minute," Klaus tells her before taking her hands to guide her out the club, she goes to stop him but Bonnie sees Rebekah whisper something in Freya'sear. Klaus takes her near his car, observing her with worry, and she just stares back at him.
"I don't remember leaving you mad at me, little witch." Klaus says, pulling her close to him.
"This is the first time I'm hearing your voice in weeks," Bonnie says, "especially after you promised you'd call me." Bonnie continues with a frown on her face. Klaus kisses the bridge of her nose, that action causes Bonnie to soften a bit.
"I'm sorry, I got so busy when I got back, it somehow slipped my mind, so I decided I would visit you instead." Klaus tells her looking into her eyes, somehow she knows he's telling the truth, "I didn't forget you, I promise." he added as he reached out to hold her hand.
"Hmm, I don't know," Bonnie says looking away from him, this wasn't good she isn't supposed to feel the need to forgive him, she shouldn't be happy to see him, to miss his scent, his voice, his touch. She was royally fucked.
"What can I do for you to earn your forgiveness?" Klaus asks her, Bonnie leans against his car, thinking, her mind is blurry and being around Klaus after not seeing him for a while, all she can think of his kissing him, being in his embrace, wondering what he would feel like when he's fucking her. But she couldn't ask for that.
"The Bennett house, I want it but" Bonnie begins to say, "okay, I'll get whatever you need, once you are more sober," he continues
"I'm not that drunk, few more shots before, I'm there," Bonnie says "I can still," Bonnie begins to say before stopping. Klaus raises his eyebrows at her.
"You can still what?" Klaus asks, Bonnie pulls down Klaus to her lips and gives him a kiss, he embraces the kiss, enjoying the feel of her against him after weeks, it seems they were both affected by being apart from each other, he couldn't guess why, the relief to see that she was okay and enjoying herself, the relief that she still wanted him as much he wanted her. Klaus pulls away from her, so she could get some air. being around this witch made him feel things he hasn't in hundreds of years. He would gladly give her the world if she asked.
"I missed you too," he tells her, Bonnie smiles softly and giggles, he swore he felt his heart skip a beat. "Freya told me I needed to pick you guys up, so stay in the car while I get them, okay," He gives her a peck on her lips before opening the car door and putting Bonnie inside. He went to get his sisters that had drank way more than Bonnie.
Klaus watched Bonnie sleep as he drove her home.
"I didn't know you were dating, especially my friend." Freya says in the back, Rebekah was laying on her legs with her eyes close, but he knew she was still up. Klaus rolls her eyes.
"Do I have to tell you everything I do now, big sister?" Klaus asks sarcastically
"Well, it is the Bennett witch so yeah, if you break her heart we have hell to pay," Rebekah speaks up
"you guys became friends a few weeks ago, and you're already so defensive," Klaus tells them. "Plus, how do you know she won't break my heart," He continues which causes Rebekah to laugh
"I'll pay her money, if she even makes you fall in love," Rebekah tells him. He rolls his eyes at her but stays silent. Klaus pulls in front of Bonnie's house, Rebekah sits sobering up peeking her head to look at him,
"No way," Rebekah says "Im starting to actually feel bad for her,"
"I'm not in love with her, beks, Be calm." Klaus says,
"yes but to have the great Klaus Mikealson to even be infatuated with you is never a good thing," Rebekah says. She was still angry of all her old lovers being killed by him, even though she has had the last 4 years without any interference from him in her love life.
Klaus got out the car and picked up Bonnie bridal style, opening her door, places her on her bed and undresses her. As he tucks her in her heart pattern changes, he places a kiss on her forehead
"good night Bonnie," he whispers
"good night, Nik," she says, causing him to smile. As Klaus got in the car, his sisters question him even more about him and Bonnie. Mostly freya, wanting know how this would work out given their history.
"Do I know about all the people you sleep with?" Klaus asked
"if you asked those vamps that follow me you probably would," Freya countered
Those vampires are there for your own good; I can't have my long-lost sister killed; how would that look on me? Klaus rolled his eyes and complained. His sisters sighs, knowing there would be no reasoning with him.
Klaus was feeling anxious for the first time in a while, the last time was when he was teaching a 5-year-old Hope how to ride a bicycle and right now he and Hope were driving to a campsite for their camping trip in the bayou for a few days before the full moon, they have done it once before and she had fun last time, he couldn't see what was exciting about, mosquito bites and sleeping in a tent, but hope always gets what she wants from him, but camping with her always made him think about the traditions he missed out as a child, building bonfires with his pack, eating what they caught.
He still had a pack of hybrids out there but they are mostly glorified guards, he was still learning how to be good alpha like Hayley was but after living years in isolation, it was difficult, ruling over wolves was different from being in charge of a city or even vampires, the sire bond helped him to his benefits but there was still that fear of losing his 12 hybrids the first time he tried.
Klaus stopped his truck and sat back with a sigh, he looked over to Hope listening to her heartbeat, it was one of the only things that brought him genuine joy in this world spending time with his daughter meant a lot to him, Having someone who wanted to spend time despite all his evils, someone he wanted to protect, how could he do that with the wolves missing. They were the rarest wolves in this world, what if this person was after her. He could not fail to protect her, and he and Hayley did their best to make her have a better childhood than they did, at the beginning it was hard but they were finally getting the gist of it.
Not to mention, Hayley was finally relaxing, after Jackson's death, her sole focus was Hope's well-being, they all tried to get her to live a little more but unless it was Hope or her remaining pack, Hayley isolated herself even from Elijah. her becoming friends with Bonnie was the first time in years, that she took notice of someone outside her bubble, they were somehow the people they both needed, Klaus don't know how the friendship worked, but he was glad that they both found each other.
But with the wolves disappearing all over the world, causing him to travel out of the country, as a favour to Hayley who was worried because it was Bonnie who told her it was connected, she saw each wolf having different sigils on them. over the years they have been many packs and some of them had rumours of their members missing, yet he had not heard anything, which was impossible, there were a few secrets that he did not know of, the armory, Rayna Cruz and even the heretics that were locked away in the prison world. Hayley told him that was the true reason Bonnie was even in New Orleans.
Klaus figured whatever was coming would happen here in New Orleans, and he wished she would tell him what she saw but she was hesitant, he understood cause he wasn't exactly known for being the calmest of the Mikealsons,
Though he would not harm in any way plus it would useless she could very well kill him if she tried hard enough, she was filled with enough anger and hurt from years of being unappreciated by her friends, but she probably would still give her life to put a stop to him from hurting them cause that's the only way to get her into action.
The past few weeks of spending time with her though he has seen, her not letting the anger define her, he got to see her smile, laugh. watching her eyes light up as he carried her around the city, he enjoyed watching her interact with the city, the way she stands on her toes before grabbing his hand drag him to where she wanted to go.
Klaus could see himself growing to love Bonnie, he was honest when he said she could break his heart, and he could see why his siblings could see that as disastrous, for him loving someone has never been easy.
Klaus sat up and touched hopes cheek hoping to wake her, so they could start with their trip, last time he did everything himself, Hope was mad she didn't get to help.
"Hope," Klaus called to her softly, He called to her again but no answer, so he decided to set the tents himself, after he was done she was still sleeping so he decided to call Bonnie.
After a few rings "This is Bonnie," She yelled, she sounded a bit of breath.
"hey my little witch, are you okay?" Klaus asked her,
"yeah, I'm with your sisters and your names popped up, and I couldn't let them see or Freya will start to question me again, Rebekah is teasing me for some reason" she said "What exactly did you tell them last night?" Bonnie accused, which caused him to smile.
"not much, but they are just being nosy," Klaus said leaning against his truck, "Don't worry they find something else to gossip about soon," Klaus added.
"I hope so, 'cause I'm not exactly comfortable talking about you," Bonnie mused.
"Are you embarrassed by me?" he teased
"Well, I don't know, did you do something?" Bonnie ask in the same tone, Klaus looked at Hope in the passenger seat, she was starting to wake up.
"I do have information about the house but id rather tell you in person," Klaus said, he found out that it was owned by Josephine LaRue, he was of course able to buy it, and put it in Bonnie's name.
"but-" Bonnie begins before Klaus interrupts her,
"don't you want to see me?" he asks, he hears Hope get out of the car,
"I do but I have so many things going on, getting this house would kind of solve like most of my problems," Bonnie sighed
"don't worry, you'll get it" Klaus promised, she was about to protest but Hope's voice came into earshot.
"Daddy, daddyyy let's get started," She exclaims with excitement "Oh you are on the phone, who is it?" Hope inquired tugging on his pants, he smiled at her.
"It's Bonnie," Klaus tells her, her eyes instantly light up,
"can I talk to her pleaseeee?" she pleads. "I don't know "Klaus drawls pretending to think even though Bonnie already told him to put her on. Hope continues to plead, he honestly found amusing her never had her want to talk to someone this much, what did the little witch do to his daughter?
"Okay," he says handing her the phone, he listens to them talk for a while it was mostly hope asking to see Bonnie again because she was finally able to grow flowers without any hiccups and she was convinced Bonnie should teach her more spells, for some reason he felt calm, hearing them talk to each other, from what Hayley said to him they enjoyed each other company when they were around each other, bonnie was like a fun aunt to her.
Hope hands him back the phone after Bonnie said she was going to introduce her to another little girl.
"hey," Klaus whispers
"Hey so, why did you really call?" Bonnie asked him,
"I wanted to hear your voice," Klaus says honestly "and also tell you I won't be in town for a few days we are on a camping trip,"
"Okay, I hope you guys have fun, ill see you soon," Bonnie muses.
"yeah soon," Klaus says before Bonnie hangs up.
Klaus puts his phone in his pocket and looks at Hope who had a bundle of thin sticks to her chest.
"Is this enough Daddy" she questions,
"Yea but we might need a bit more," Klaus says "Why don't you get the pots, while I set everything for the fire up,"
She goes off to get the pots, he's relieved she didn't ask to do a fire spell. Klaus puts everything behind his mind and decides to focus on allowing his daughter to have as much fun as possible.
