Lucy looked over at Elijah, who was driving them to the airport. Bonnie opted out of being in the front seat and lashed her hand when she was about to open the car door. She looked at her cousin as crazy, but apparently, Mikealson's men were groomed to be the perfect gentlemen still, even though they were monsters underneath it all.
"You think the girls are okay?" Bonnie asked; she hadn't spoken to them in days, and she couldn't be worried about them. She knew Zaci was taking care of them, but still, they were her responsibility, and she hoped they didn't think this was more important than her being with them.
"I'm sure they are having the time of their lives without you," Lucy said. "Plus, they have two witches with them; what could go wrong?"
"Freya is not in New Orleans," Bonnie said. frowning, she had sent Hayley after Tyler because he could help them with the missing wolves. She knew now that it had gone past the dead wolves they found in the witches' quarter. She just hoped Hayley could put an end to it.
"How do you know that?" Elijah asked, but before she could answer "the bracelet," he finished.
"Or she texted me," Bonnie fibbed. Both were true, plus the bracelet worked both ways. It was Bonnie's magical essence; Freya would always know where Bonnie was, whether she wore it or not, and Bonnie could only locate Freya once she was wearing it.
"It's not wise to lie," Elijah said.
"You think Freya would wear something and not know the effects of it?" Bonnie chided. "She knows it's not just a bracelet; it's so she can draw on my magic," she said, rolling her eyes.
"But she's not part of our coven?" Lucy asked
"No, I haven't asked her yet; her family is clingy and controlling," she sighed.
"You're with the worst of them," Lucy said, "but you can't fight love." Lucy went to look at Elijah, but she felt Bonnie pinch her. She shrieked and turned to glare, but Bonnie was motioning at Elijah.
"What?" she mouthed.
Bonnie picked up her phone.
He's the worst because he's actually been in love, so good luck.
Lucy laughed and looked back at Bonnie, and she shrugged.
I'm not interested. She texted back.
"When you lie to me, you lie to yourself," Bonnie sang. Lucy rolled her eyes. She felt the blood rush to her cheeks. She thought about the kiss she placed on his cheek, and since then, she's been giving him the cold shoulder ever since.
"So the plan is Germany, then Austria, was it?" Lucy asked,
"Yes, if it was something simple, we would have gone with a private plane, but the first class would have to do it," Elijah said.
"Did he just say private plane?" Lucy mouthed. Bonnie smiled and nodded.
"You know I can still hear when you mouth it," Elijah said.
"Give me your card so I can buy Lucy some minutes then," Bonnie said, poking her head between the seats.
"I don't think that's necessary," Elijah said
"Well, we want to talk without your watchful ears so," Bonnie emphasized. Elijah sighed.
"You agreed to be two women for more than a day," Bonnie said. "So don't catch an attitude." Elijah took his wallet out of his suit and gave it to Bonnie. She took out his card and handed it over to Lucy.
"People will think he's our bodyguard," Lucy said, taking up her phone to buy the data.
"He makes a good one," Bonnie said, looking at him.
"So did you really need me for this trip? You could have just used him as a battery," Lucy said, looking at Bonnie. She shrugged
"It's not if I need you for this trip; Elijah needs to be back alive, and you need to leave Maine." Bonnie said "Plus, it sucks only communicating with you using emails or rare phone calls," Bonnie pointed out.
Lucy sighed "Honestly, after my mom died, I met Katherine." Lucy started, "I just mostly wanted nothing to do with Bennetts; the family is just unsupportive." Lucy continued
"When we separated, the family just got so broken, and I wanted to help you when I met you, but I couldn't bring you into my drama with Katherine, and I wish I could have known what would have happened so we could have prevented it," Lucy finished.
"I didn't want you to stop me from anything, Lucy; I just wanted family." Bonnie said, "I don't blame anyone for what happened in Mystic Falls." Bonnie continued.
"I don't want you coming to New Orleans to repay some debt you think you owe me; I just want to bring my family together." Bonnie said, "To let them know they have my support if they ever need it." Lucy nodded
"I understand that but I'm in New Orleans for you and those kids," Lucy said "You think we have more Bennett babies around? or do we have to work on that with you and Klaus?" Lucy said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Stay out my womb," Bonnie said, pushing her chair.
"Sorry to interrupt, but is Lucy talking about Katerina?" Elijah asked, bringing their attention to him.
"Yep, the both of you have a lot in common when it comes to that vampire," Bonnie said. Lucy turned to her again.
"He knows Katherine?" she asked, and Bonnie nodded. "How do you know Katherine?" Lucy asked
"Katherine never told you who she was hiding from." Bonnie asked her
"Yes, Klaus because she betrayed him and he couldn't take it," Lucy answered
"I guess betrayal is the right word in Mikealson terms, but it's best Elijah tells the story," Bonnie said, sitting back. Lucy turned her head toward Elijah.
"Katherine was the first doppelganger we found after the curse was put on Klaus; she was supposed to be the sacrifice, but that failed when she decided to turn into a vampire and run like a coward," Elijah said with conviction. They looked at him to continue, but they reached the airport, and she had a feeling he didn't want to go into much of their history.
"Well, I'll be sleeping for the rest of the flight," Lucy said, sitting down. "Did you get the dimenhydrinate for me?" She directed the question to Elijah. He had done the shopping for the girls since they didn't want to part ways.
"You know it won't be that bad, 'cause we have space," Bonnie told Lucy.
"Better safe than sorry," Lucy said, taking the medication. They got settled before the flight took off. Bonnie took out her laptop and looked through her emails. She clicked on one that had an unfamiliar email.

Hey Ms. Bennett,
I need to talk to you about your time as the anchor; I think I may be experiencing something similar. I've been blacking out and waking up in strange places. losing track of time, I think it's the ancestors who are using me to serve their purpose. I need your help to stop it from happening before it's too late.
Vincent Griffith.
Bonnie read the email several times to ensure she was reading it right. She wasn't sure how she could help Vincent; the first thought she had was to kill him, but that probably would become another regent's problem. It wasn't the same for her when she was the anchor. Yes, she lost track of time, but he was probably being possessed; she didn't think they did that, but it made sense they did. Witches can't stay dead in peace; they must always have a say in current affairs.
She just needed to find a way to cut off the ancestors from possessing Vincent until she was ready with the spell to destroy them. She could not tamper with the well without resistance, so it had to be someone whose family was part of the New Orleans witches. Dene nor Zaci were powerful enough, so she had to talk to Freya about helping him, but not before she found out what they were doing during the time he was blacked out. What was the plan for the dead wolves? for the Mikealson family?
She knew the plan involved Lucien, but what? Bonnie shut down her computer, sat back, and closed her eyes. She was going to meditate so she could communicate with the spirits; maybe they'd tell her something.
Bonnie opened her eyes to a field of blue hyacinths. She heard a giggle, turned her head, and saw Hope in her princess dress.
"Bonnie, you're in my dream," Hope said. Bonnie looked around and then smiled at Hope.
"Well, let's make use of it until I move on," she said. Hope pulled her up and ran away from Bonnie once she was on her feet. Bonnie chased after her, giggling all the way.
"When are you coming home?" Hope asked when Bonnie finally caught her. She looked at Bonnie with her sad brown eyes, and she felt her heart drop.
"I'm coming home soon; I'm just taking care of something with Uncle Elijah and my cousin Lucy," Bonnie said, touching her shoulders.
"Do you like Uncle Elijah?" Hope asked. She studied Hope; she didn't want to lie to the girl, but what if she asked why she didn't?
"No, I don't," Bonnie answered honestly, and Hope nodded
"I get it I don't like dancing classes but Hiwa does so I stay," Hope stated
"Why do you stay?" Bonnie asked. Hope looked at her, and her eyes were full of tears.
"She's my first friend who is a witch, and she actually likes me; she tells me the most amazing stories and loves my drawings of them; she'll hate me if I leave." Hope cried.
"Hiwa wouldn't hate you if you didn't dance anymore; she likes you," Bonnie said to encourage her.
"but I don't want her to be mad," Hope said
"It's okay if your friends are mad sometimes; as long as they respect who you are or your wishes, you know they are here to stay," Bonnie tells her, touching her cheek. Hope nods and hugs Bonnie.
"Thank you, Bonnie I can see why Daddy likes you." Hope said, "Do you hate Uncle Elijah because he doesn't respect you?" Hope asked. I knew she'd ask; she is definitely her father's child in the approach.
"No, Elijah did something that hurt me and I can tell you when you're a bit older but I don't want you treating him differently when I do, okay," Bonnie said softly
"Okay, come home soon, please." Hope pleaded. "Hiwa keeps talking about you."
"I will," Bonnie said. Hope disappeared from her arms, and the flowers began glitching from blue to yellow. The bright sun that was in the sky turned into a moonless night. Bonnie shivered and hugged herself to get warm. She looked around her surroundings; she was in a passage in the forest, where she could see old street lights and a few stoned homes.
"Did you bring it?" she heard a voice ask. She looked towards it, and the person was looking directly at her. She moved her hands from her shoulders and was about to answer, but the wind shifted around her.
"Don't worry about that. Do you have what I want?" She heard another male voice ask, and she gasped when she saw his face. It was the man she ran into on her way to see Marcel.
"Yes, of course," the man said with disdain, handing him a brown paper bag. The man grabbed it and handed him a bag.
"The directions are in the bag for the witch," the man said, opening the paper bag, taking a vial, and looking at it.
"Why would a vampire need wolf venom?" the human asked.
"the same reason I'm funding your family business." The vamp said, "The St. Johns are allowed to carry out their business and hide because of me; don't forget that." The vampire said, flashing his fangs and speeding off.
Bonnie closed her eyes, hoping to wake up, but she was back in the field. She saw Hope; this time it was filled with tulips. She looked around, and beyond her, she saw a woman at a tree. She walked towards the tree, and as she grew closer, it became clear that it was her grandmother. She ran towards her and gripped her in a hug, but when she was hugged back, it felt different. She pulled away.
"You're not Grams," she stated, confused and angry. The clouds that formed in the sky got darker.
"No, your grandmother is long gone; we thought this form would be better for you." Her grammatical mouth moved, but it spoke inside her head. bonnie gripped its shoulders
"What did you do to her?" she questioned, shaking her body.
"After your grandmother saved your life, she went on to find peace, thinking things would work out for you," the voices said in her head. Bonnie gasped and looked away. She cried; she always thought her grandmother was punished again for helping her.
"It's okay; it's better that way if she knew what happened afterwards." The spirits began, Bonnie nodded, and her grandmother would despair.
"Why have you brought me here?" she asked, wiping her tears from her sleeves and looking back at the spirit that looked like her grandmother.
"We took this form so we'd be more inviting but if you prefer something else," it said Bonnie quickly shook her head. "we don't have much opportunity to talk to you and now that you've bonded with Niklaus Mikealson, it has changed our dynamics," it said
"What do you mean?" Bonnie asked
"You guys are more intertwined than you realized. Don't worry, we are not mad. Just wish we could have seen it coming," it said. Bonnie nodded and then widened her eyes, realizing something.
"You guys can't see the future?" Bonnie asked, and it shook grams head
"we can only tell you the past; anything you've seen is a gift that belongs to you only, very few beings have that privilege," it said
"So why am I here?" Bonnie asked
"We will continue to help you with the spell to destroy the ancestors; we will loan you our power, but you cannot do it yourself," it said. Bonnie nodded as she thought as much.
"We would like you to work on getting the witches who would help you choose carefully; those who help you will always have access to us." it said "You will help us connect to this age of witches." it hummed
"What about Lucien?" Bonnie asked
"We want to stop him; he has been planning for centuries to put things under your mate's nose. If he succeeds, he will be a vampire with both Silas' and Mikealson's vampire abilities, and this time nature can't make a loophole," it said, ringing in her ears.
"Why don't you stop the spell?" Bonnie asked
"We would need a witch of the same standing to help us, and they haven't been one willing in a while," Bonnie nodded. That's why we have vampires now, because no witch was willing to help.
"we will be in contact Bonnie, remember to read your books and also explore Germany before you leave," it said. Bonnie opened her eyes back on the plane. It was dark, and the air hostess was going around checking on the passengers. She took a deep breath and got out her book so she could write down what happened.
