Mario, Goombella, and Frankly were heading for Petalburger to gather information from the villagers.

GOOMBELLA: Look, there's my old neighborhood, Petalburger!

MARIO: Wait, where's Professor Frankly?

Professor Frankly had just teleported to the other side of the neighborhood and is running towards Mario and Goombella, but he tripped and fell in the water.

MARIO: *gasp* Somebody better go in there and save him before he…

GOOMBELLA: He's right behind us.

Mario turned around and noticed Professor Frankly standing right with them in perfect condition.

MARIO: Drowns!

KOOPA: Hello, and welcome to Petalburg… Goombella? You're back already!?

GOOMBELLA: Yep!

KOOPA: And Mario's with you!?

MARIO: Yes, and we're on this quest for the Chaos Emeralds, we found one lying on the ground, but Hooktail grabbed it and gobbled it up, so we need to go to his lair and… uh…

KOOPA: You wanna take down Hooktail? My, so brave, we need to set up a party, Goombella, would you like to help me set up the party as these two brave men slay the dreaded Hooktail?

GOOMBELLA: Sure, I'd love to! You hear that, Mario? You're a very brave young man.

And with that, she blew him a kiss which made Mario blush.

KOOPA: Let's talk to Mayor Kroop about this! Come now, you three.

Mario, Goombella, and Frankly followed the Koopa to the Mayor's house and knocked on the door. Inside his house, Kroop was partying with the villagers like a teenager party.

KROOP: Huh? Now could that be!?

KOOPA: It's me, Jackson. Can I come in? I wanna talk to you about something.

KROOP: Sure, come in.

Mario, Goombella, and Frankly came inside the pink house.

MARIO: What the mama mia, isn't that a… a party?

GOOMBELLA: Yeah, with drinks and pizza.

FRANKLY: Man, this looks like fun!

MARIO: Excuse me, uh, Mayor? I wanna talk to you about something!

KROOP: What? You wanna steal my stuff!?

MARIO: No, that's not it.

KROOP: Go on, do what you will… but as you can plainly see, there's nothing to steal here. Oh, I guess I have a little money… take it, you fiends. And my antique shell, too. Just leave the photos of me and the missus. Can't do without those memories…

MARIO: We're not thieves.

KROOP: What? Not thieves, you say? Well, what's your story, then?

MARIO: I just wanna find that Chaos Emerald - the diamond jewel - that Hooktail just ate.

KROOP: Hooktail? You mean this enormous, ornery dragon that, legend has it, eats folks?

MARIO: Of course!

KROOP: So, are you reckless fools… I mean… Are you gallant heroes off to rough it up?

MARIO: You got it!

KROOP: This DOES sound promising! Why, if you can rid us of Hooktail, we'll shower you with gratitude and rewards. Wait, what's that I hear? You'll accept no reward?

MARIO: Of course I won't.

KROOP: What an unselfish man! You're noble, indeed… Yup, a good egg. Now… What was your name? Was it Murphy? Hmm… That's a fine name. Yes, a fine name, indeed. Well now, Murphy…

MARIO: It's "Mario".

KROOP: I appreciate that, Murphy! They ARE nice eyebrows. Now, listen up. If you're intent on going to Hooktail's castle, find the secret pipe near the village. I don't know where it's at, but I know you need stone keys to use that pipe. The keys are somewhere in Shhwonk Fortress, just past the village. Get them first.

GOOMBELLA: No biggie, we'll do it!

KROOP: I got to announce this to everybody.

Kroop grabbed his megaphone and went outside with Mario, Goombella, and Frankly following behind him.

KROOP: Attention Petalburger! This is your mayor speaking, and I just wanna make a big announcement! Murphy, Isabella, and this old mushroom are going to take down Hooktail once and for all!

Jackson went up to Kroop and whispered to where his ear should be.

KROOP: Isabella will actually help the village set up the party while Murphy and the old mushroom go and slay Hooktail!

All the Koopas started cheering and clapping except for the one who is still in his house. Just then, Kooper came up to Mario.

KOOPER: Mario, what's up, paisano?

MARIO: What's up, Kooper? How's Lady Bow doing?

KOOPER: Oh, she's doing fantastic, Mario. I really wish she would come with me, but she's on vacation with her sister and butler.

MARIO: Oh.

KOOPER: And I had to go see my mom and little brother here, but we will see each other again when we're done with our vacations.

MARIO: I'm-a glad, anyway, it was nice seeing you here.

KOOPER: Nice to see you here, too, paisano.

MARIO: Let's-a go, Goombella… Goombella?

FRANKLY: I think she's talking with a girly turtle.

GOOMBELLA: Hey Mario, I want you to meet someone I used to babysit during my high school years.

MARIO: You were a babysitter, Goombella? I did not-a know that-a!

KOOPIE KOO: Hey, you must be Super Mario, right?

MARIO: Extraordinaire!

GIRL KOOPA: I'm Koopie Koo, I'm Koops' babysitter after Goombella went to Rogueport College.

KOOPER'S MOM: Hey, Kooper, can you look after Koops while I head to the grocery store real quick.

KOOPER: Yes ma'am.

MARIO: Your a babysitter too?

KOOPER: Kinda, he's my youngest brother. Would y'all like to meet him?

GOOMBELLA: Sure, we'd love to!

KOOPER: Then follow me.

At Koops' room, Koops was listening to music on his headphones. Kooper knocked on his bedroom to where Koops can hear the knock. He pushed pause on his music and took his headphones off.

KOOPS: Yes?

KOOPER: This is Kooper, and… you got visitors.

KOOPS: Oh goody, is it Koopie Koo or…?

Kooper opened the door which revealed Mario, Goombella, and Frankly.

KOOPS: Wait, Goombella!? And Mario!?

GOOMBELLA: Hey, Koops! You doing good?

KOOPS: Yeah, and what is Mario doing in my house?

GOOMBELLA: He really wants to meet you.

MARIO: Hey, you must be Kooper's little brother, I'm-a Super Mario.

Mario extended his hand out and Koops heads over to Mario and shakes his hand.

KOOPS: I'm Koops.

MARIO: Nice to meet you, Koops, and this old Goomba is Professor Frankly.

KOOPS: Hi, Professor… Frankly.

KROOP: And now, Murphy and the old mushroom are going to Shhwonk Fortress to find the stone keys right now.

MARIO: Goombella, we gotta go! Duty calls!

GOOMBELLA: Bye Koops!

They left Koops' house.

KOOPS: Bye?

Mario, Goombella, and Frankly ran out of the house and into the gate that leads to Shhwonk Fortress.

MARIO: We're here, Mayor.

RANDOM KOOPA: Good luck, Mario!

GATEKEEPER: Take care, and be careful.

MARIO: Thanks y'all!

GOOMBELLA: I'll be back for the party though!

Koops ran out of his house and caught up with Mario.

KOOPS: Wait Mario!

MARIO: What is it?

KOOPS: Can I ask you something?

MARIO: Sure, but make it quick, okay? We gotta get the stone keys.

KOOPS: Okay… uhh… the thing is… I wanna… can you please…

FRANKLY: Maybe we should wait 'till later, Mario, the crowd's in a frenzy!

MARIO: But…

KOOPS: He's right, I'm never gonna get my thoughts out.

Koops walks slowly back to his house

MARIO: Wait, Koops!

KROOP: C'mon, Murphy! Make us proud!

KOOPIE KOO: Mario, we're counting on you!

JACKSON: And slay that Hooktail dragon once and for all!

GOOMBELLA: Jackson really means it, we gotta get the stone keys and you gotta fight Hooktail, don't worry about Koops, okay?

MARIO: Okie dokie! Shhwonk Fortress, here we come!

And so, they were on their way to Shhwonk Fortress.
