Chapter 5: Chamber of Revelations

Delia was not having a good day - or year even. It started with that crazy house elf ruining her summer, followed by those attacks on muggleborns, her ability of parseltongue being exposed and the subsequent vilification because of it, some seriously oversized spiders, and eventually ended with the massive cluster fuck that is the Chamber of Secrets itself. Was Slytherin crazy, because no one in their right mind would keep a basilisk under a school! That's like asking for a massacre to happen. The basilisk itself was probably a bit crazy too, which would be normal after being stuck alone in a chamber for so long. It kept calling her a half-blood. How it even knew or cared about her mother being a muggleborn baffled her.

As Delia layed on the floor, the stabbed diary and basilisk teeth in the puddle next to her, the burning in her arm from the basilisk bite started to slowly spread through the rest of her body. Now it really started to hurt and she could barely contain her screams. Her mind became numb. Suddenly there was a strong glow nearby and Delia closed her eyes on instinct.

"NO, Delia please no!" Someone screamed from nearby. That person fell to their knees and hauled Delia upright into a sitting position, holding her in a tight embrace. "Apollo, get your ass here now!"

Delia, finally somewhat understanding what was going on through the fog in her head, said "Arty, is that you?"

"Yes, Delia, it's me, it's me, please don't stop fighting it!" Artemis said, full of panic. "Why isn't he coming? Apollo!"

"I missed you, Arty." Delia said weakly, her strength fading rather quickly now.

"I missed you too, very much, but please hold on and fight it! I will take you to him, laws be damned." She started scooping up Delia into her arms, when suddenly Fawkes pulled attention to himself by singing a few soothing notes.

"A phoenix!" Artemis exclaimed in surprise. "Please, help her!" She begged Fawkes, as she laid Delia back down on the floor while holding her upper body upright.

Fawkes swooped down from the statue he was sitting on, and put his head on the spot where the serpent's fang had pierced Delia's arm. Pearly tears started sliding down his beak, right into the wound, before he took off again.

"Thank you!" Artemis said, the relief evident in her voice.

Slowly, the pain started leaving Delia and the wound closed. She shook her head in an attempt to clear it. As she looked up, she saw that Artemis was holding her, and couldn't stop a smile breaking out on her face.

"You're here, you're really here!" She exclaimed happily, hugging Artemis for dear life, who quickly reciprocated the hug. She leaned back a bit before asking "Wait, how is this possible? How are you here?"

Artemis froze at that question, unsure if she should reveal everything now. That choice was taken away from her when Delia continued.

"I mean, I assumed you were a goddess and that I travelled to an alternative reality where mythology was real, but does this mean that I'm a time traveller rather than a dimensional traveller?" Delia asked, raising one eyebrow.

Artemis, a bit startled at Delia having figured it out, swallowed before answering "Yes, your 'jumps' as you called it are to the past and not some different reality. Gods and everything else from mythology is real."

Delia shuckled a bit nervously at this, "I guess I should have seen it coming, I read books claiming Hecate to be responsible for the magical world. Not many people seem to believe it, but I guess it's true after all."

Suddenly, it was as a shock went through Delia. "What does this mean for us, my Lady?" She asked, sounding a bit defeated, for she knew gods and humans rarely interacted without tragedy and that it was dangerous to address a deity without proper title and respect.

Artemis grimaced at this. "Nothing. You're still my best friend, the one I grew up with on Delos. Please don't call me 'my Lady', I'm still the same person. Me being a goddess changes nothing between us as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure Apollo agrees with this." She said with as much conviction she could muster, pulling Delia into another hug. Delia relaxed again at this confession.

Artemis turned serious and cupped Delia's cheeks in her hands. "Please listen carefully to what I have to say." Delia, realising that what Artemis was about to say must be very important, completely focussed on her. "There are a few reasons why I couldn't visit you before, the main one is that it was a lot safer for you if I didn't. You're not fully human, or a witch as you refer to yourself, but a half-blood."

"The basilisk called me a half-blood yes, but I already knew I was one, my mother was the first magic user in her family after all." Delia said, a bit confused about what this had to do with anything.

"You're a half-blood, yes, but for us it means something else. You're half human, half immortal, a demigod." Delia's eyes went wide open from shock at this revelation. "One of your parents wasn't a human."

Artemis took a deep breath before continuing, as if steeling herself for what was to come. "It's time I explain why I haven't visited you before. As I said earlier, mythology is real, not just the gods and heroes, but the monsters too, as you have noticed by the basilisk you've slain. Every being related to immortals or anything mythology wise really, has a scent. So do you. Monsters track half-bloods via these scents. If I would have visited you before, I would have left my scent behind near you, which would have attracted some attention from monsters over time. If I would have told you about this before, your scent would have significantly increased, making it a lot easier for monsters to track you down. This is also why my mother forbade us from telling you about all of this on Delos. We wanted to keep you safe from all of it until you were old enough to be able to fight these monsters. The only workaround Apollo and I found back then, was giving you the means to defend yourself, and add some basic enchantments to the necklace so we could keep an eye on you." She finished staring at the floor, as one of her fingers trailed the chain of the necklace Delia was wearing.

Delia took a while to process all of it. Her entire world had been turned upside down. She was eventually able to pull herself together, and decided to focus on gathering information. "I understand why you two did it, even if I don't completely like it. So basically one of my parents is an immortal, leaving me with a scent, meaning monsters will hunt me, especially since I'm aware of the situation. Why hasn't my parent come for me since he or she is immortal? And how am I supposed to defend myself? I don't have any weapons!" Delia asked, sounding nearly hysterical with a sad look in her eyes.

"Easy, easy, don't start panicking now." Artemis said, as she started rubbing Delia's back. "You do have a weapon. The necklace I gave you transforms into a bow if you want it to." Delia's mouth dropped open at this, to the amusement of Artemis, who smirked at her. "As for your parent, there are a set of laws called the Ancient Laws, something all immortals have to follow. One of those laws states that gods are not allowed to raise their half-blood children and can't directly interfere in their life. I'm sure that your parent cares for you, even if they can't show it to you directly."

"I don't have much time left, there is currently some trouble brewing at home, and my father demands my presence in case something happens, likely around the solstice. There are a few more things you need to know. First of all, the goblins at Gringotts can help you figure out who your immortal parent is, so you should visit them when you can. Secondly, there is a camp for half-bloods like you, where they are safe and can train. Children stay there either only during vacations or year round. The camp is in New York, it's called Camp Half-Blood." She grimaced at the name. "Lastly, now that you know, I can somewhat interfere in your life. The Moirai generally don't like it, which is why I will have to limit it as much as possible, but I swear to you, if your uncle ever so much as touches you again, I will deal with him in a permanent way." Artemis finished, voice full of determination. Delia looked very hopeful at the last promise.

Artemis stood back up and pulled Delia up with her. She looked over at the basilisk. "Congratulations on a successful hunt, I advise you to sacrifice it to your parent. Doing so would make it clear to your parent that you're aware of your heritage, and maybe they'll reach out to you then."

Delia nodded and was able to muster a weak smile. She still wasn't sure how to feel about all of this. "Thank you, Arty, for everything. I don't know what would have happened to me without you in my life."

Artemis looked back to Delia and smiled as well. "Don't mention it, as I said before, I care a lot about you." She pulled Delia in a final hug, whispering in her ear "Please close your eyes until the light has faded."

Delia obediently closed her eyes. She felt Artemis pulling back from the hug and briefly kissing her forehead, before she noticed a blinding light through her eyelids. Once the light faded, she opened her eyes again and couldn't find Artemis anywhere.

She walked over to the basilisk's corpse, unsure how to proceed. "Uhhhmm, I, Delia Potter, offer these spoils of hunting to my immortal parent!" She exclaimed, sounding rather unsure of herself. Something must have gone right though, as a few seconds later the body of the basilisk disappeared. Only the one basilisk tooth she used to stab the diary was left. She decided to wrap it up in some of her torn clothes and take it with her. She had just finished wrapping it up, when Ginny started to stir on the ground.

"Ginny! Are you alright?" Delia asked urgently, while running towards her. She felt a bit ashamed for forgetting that Ginny was here.

"Yes, I'm fine, just a bit tired." She answered, her eyes rapidly blinking. She groggily started to look around the chamber.

"Here let me help you up, we have to get out of this place." Delia pulled Ginny up, and supported her as they walked to the chamber's exit, neither noticing the fading silver glow surrounding Delia.

Delia was confused. She was tiny and sitting in a basket. It was dark outside and very cold. She heard someone approach her from the driveway. The unknown person picked her up and held Delia close to her chest. The person appeared to be Lily Potter, if Lily Potter had black hair. She was smiling down at Delia, although there were clear tear streaks under 'Lily's' eyes. What is going on? What is this? Delia started to panic. Everything felt like an out of body experience, as she couldn't control her own actions.

"Hello sweetie, I'm sorry I can't be there for you anymore, that I can't raise you myself. I love you very much, never doubt that. There will be a time we will meet again, but I don't know when. I'm sorry you'll have to live here for now. You should be with your godmother or godfather, I would bring you to them myself if the Fates hadn't forbidden me from doing so." She sighed, "At least you should be safe from my ex-husband here."

Her voice sounded broken. She was looking down at Delia, the love clearly visible in her eyes. She held down a finger in front of Delia, and as per reflex, Delia held onto it with her entire fist. Delia started laughing and cooing, even if she didn't know why. Internally she was mulling over the information. The Fates forbade it, but why would they specifically forbid this? Delia tried to speak, but she couldn't. She of course had realised this must be her immortal parent. Delia drank in her parent's sight, wondering who she really was.

"You might have been born to a mortal aspect of me, but you're my first child in a very long time, I claim you as mine. Now and always."

After her mother had said that, she kissed Delia's brow causing Delia to feel energy flow throughout her entire tiny body. It spread from her head to the tip of her toes.

Suddenly, Delia knew what was coming next, as she finally started to recognise her surroundings. She would be left at the doorstep, doomed to the fun treatment of the Dursleys. It was so cold though. Why did she only have a thin blanket?

Her mother seemed to have noticed Delia's discomfort, and muttered something in a tongue Delia didn't recognise. Suddenly she felt pleasantly warm. Her eyes slowly started to droop. Lily cupped Delia's head with her hand and stroked her cheek with her thumb. The look in Lily's eyes spoke for itself, it showed clear sorrow. "I'm truly sorry my child, I can't stay. Goodbye Delia, may we meet again, my little one."

With that, Lily put Delia back into the little basket and walked away while crying. Delia started to fall asleep as everything went black.

Delia woke up with a start. Her heart was pounding heavily in her chest. In her panicked and confused state, it took her a few seconds before she recognised her surroundings. She was in a bed in the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey had insisted on her staying for the night after discovering that she had been bitten by a basilisk. She tried to explain that she was completely fine and everything was healed by phoenix tears, but it was to no avail. Her breathing and heart slowly calmed down to a more reasonable rate.

She thought back to the dream - was it really a dream? - she just had. Artemis was right, her parent did acknowledge her after the offering, and more importantly, her parent cared about her, loved her even. It helped against the insecurity that started to bubble up inside her ever since the conversation in the chamber.

So according to her dream, her immortal parent decided to have a mortal aspect - whatever that meant - and had her. Subconsciously, she was relieved by knowing none of her parents cheated on each other. Another thing that stood out to Delia was the ex-husband remark. So her mother was married before marrying her father. However, that tidbit of information helped very little in discovering her mother's identity, as plenty of immortals were married. There was no point in breaking her head over it now anyway, the goblins would help her with that - whenever she is able to visit them.

What currently was worthy of her attention though, was the fact that she had a godmother and a godfather. Who are they, and where are they? Why hadn't they raised her like her mother obviously wanted, rather than the Dursleys? Why had they never even tried to contact or visit her? She felt a sting of rejection and anger, but decided to bury it deep for now. If they didn't want to be family to her, then she didn't need them either.

She shook her head to clear it. There was no point in going back to sleep now. She needed to find a way to convince the Dursleys to let her go to Diagon Alley sooner rather than later. Considering what happened the previous summer, she was certain it would be impossible to convince them to help her with anything. They would say no just because it was something she wanted, they didn't need any reason other than that.

She could simply run away and stay at the Leaky Cauldron, but that would raise red flags for many people, gain her a lot of attention she didn't need, and she would probably be sent back to the Dursleys anyway once Dumbledore found out. No, just skipping out on them wouldn't be an option. At least there was some solace knowing that Artemis would protect her against her uncle if it came down to it. Maybe she could just disappear from the Dursleys near the end of the summer, a week or two before term starts, yes that sounds more plausible.

For her plans to work, she needed to be unsupervised, so talking to the Weasleys or Hermione about it wasn't an option either. Especially since she didn't want to tell them about what really happened down in the chamber near the end. What was she supposed to tell them anyway? "Yea, a goddess appeared, she saved my life with the help of Fawkes, I sacrificed the basilisk to my mum, who by the way is a goddess too, I just don't know which one, so I need to go to Gringotts to find out who she really is." She snorted out loud at that. That would definitely be a one way ticket to the mental hospital. Her ADHD briefly reared its head by wondering if wizards even had a mental hospital before she was able to push the thought away. She needed to stay on track.

She sighed. All of this would be so much easier if she had someone to talk to in Hogwarts, someone who could actually help and advise her, someone who was aware of mythology being real. Some witches and wizards might still believe in the 'old ways', where they worshipped gods and goddesses and even made offerings to them, but their numbers were steadily declining. She was fairly sure Ron and the rest of the Weasleys don't belong to this group. He probably thought they were mental. Maybe if there was a god of quidditch, he would believe in them, praying for the Chudley Cannons to finally win. Hermione definitely wasn't a part of this group considering she was a muggleborn and raised catholic. She would most definitely look down on the 'old ways', whenever she found out about it, and call the wizarding people silly.

Not for the first time Delia wondered if she should try to actively befriend more people. In her first year she was too shy to really try. She clung to her first two friends, Ron and Hermione, and didn't care for more. This year, she had the intention of making more friends, but then the whole 'heir of Slytherin' thing happened, and everyone avoided her like the plague. She should probably start with Neville. The boy was always very friendly towards everyone. He didn't accuse her once of being the heir. His problems with the more practical side of magic left him quite insecure, his family didn't help with that from what she had heard, but she was convinced he would get better with both magic and with his confidence. Besides, he was willing to stand up to things he believed to be wrong, a trait that Delia greatly admired. Yes, Neville would be a perfect first step to expand her friend group.

With her mind made up about what she would be doing in the coming days, and her body completely calmed down from earlier events, she slowly started to drift off again.

xxx

Ever since the events in the chamber, it had been impossible for her to talk to Neville alone. She had tried, but Ron had basically attached himself at the hip since she left the hospital wing, and Hermione joined him as soon as she woke up from her extended basilisk induced sleep. The first time she was able to go somewhere alone was on the Hogwarts Express. She left their compartment with the excuse that she had to go to the loo, and even then she had to convince Hermione that she was fine with going alone. Delia started to get really frustrated with both of them. Couldn't they see that she needed some alone time?

During her solo walk on the express, she found Neville. He was sitting in a compartment with two Hufflepuffs she vaguely remembered as Hannah Abbott and Susan Bones. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff had herbology together. She hadn't talked to either of them, but Hufflepuff left a foul taste in her mouth after the events of the year. Those two hadn't done anything against her as far as she remembered though, so she decided to take a leap of faith and try to join them.

She opened the compartment's door and asked with a smile "Hey, do you mind if I join you in this compartment?"

Neville, being the insecure friendly guy that he is, instantly replied "N-no, w-we don't mind.", leaving no room for either Hufflepuffs to protest his decision, not that they seemed to plan on doing so. If anything, they looked more intrigued than annoyed.

"Thanks Neville. Ron and Hermione have been a bit too much during the past days. I needed a break from them." She said, while sitting down next to him.

"Oooh, trouble in paradise for Gryffindor's golden trio?" The blond one, Hannah Abbott, asked. Her face had perked up at this information. Wonderful, Delia thought, another gossip like Lavender.

Neville snorted, which sounded very out of character for him. Maybe there was a lot more to him than she thought. "You should have seen Ron and Hermione, they have been her constant shadow since Delia was released from the hospital wing. This is the first time I've actually seen her without at least one of them in over a week. It's a miracle she only snapped now."

"Nevermind that… Do people really call us Gryffindor's golden trio?" Delia asked, with a look of disbelief on her face.

"Yes, it started in first year when you three started hanging out together acting all mysterious and then raked up all those points to win the House Cup during the feast. Not that we minded much, as Slytherin would have won otherwise, but a lot of students call it favouritism, especially considering who you are. It doesn't help that we don't know why you got those points to begin with, apart from a very vague statement. Now it happened once more, again for no known reason apart from that it had something to do with the chamber of secrets." Susan said, the underlying questions were clear.

"Hmmm." Delia acknowledged. She wasn't sure if she should reveal what has happened during the past years. She decided to vaguely clue them in about what happened last year, and depending on their reaction, she would continue about this year too.

"Last year… well, tell me, what do you think happened to professor Quirrell?" Delia asked, while tilting her head sideways.

This threw all of them for a loop, as they hadn't seen that question coming. "Well, euh, he got a new job offer and left the school before the feast, right?" Neville said, quite unsure of his answer.

"I heard he got into a big row with Dumbledore and was kicked out of the castle." Susan said, also doubting her answer.

"O please, everyone knows that the vampires who Quirrell had pissed off in the continent finally decided to pay him a visit. A visit that left him a bit drained." Hannah said, in a tone that left no place for debate.

All the other members of the compartment blinked and looked over at her, a look of pure disbelief on their faces.

Suddenly Hannah burst out laughing, "You should have seen your faces!" she was able to weeze out. "There are actually people who believe that though." Her statement was followed by a resounding slap of Susan's hand coming in contact with her own forehead.

"Well…" Delia started, somewhat thrown off track by the vampire theory "None of those answers are correct. Quirrell was possessed by a dark wizard for the majority of the year. He tried to steal a valuable artefact from under Dumbledore's nose, and kill me afterwards. I fought back and was able to defend myself against him thanks to some accidental magic. That's also why I was in the hospital wing for so long at the end of first year." She said, eyes cast at the floor. The memory of Quirrell attacking her and her fighting back was still clear in her mind.

"Is that why you three had to leave the common room in the middle of the night? You wanted to stop him from stealing an artefact?" Neville asked. Delia idly wondered why he hadn't asked about this before, considering his involvement.

"Yes, we knew he would try to steal it that night, and Dumbledore was gone for the day. We had to do something, we tried going to the professors, but none of them believed us." Neville shook his head at this.

"When you say you were able to defend yourself thanks to accidental magic, what exactly happened to Quirrell and the artefact?" Susan asked, her interest peaked.

"He died. The accidental magic caused my hands to be lit on fire or something so I could burn him. I was able to stop him from choking me to death because of it." Once again everyone's eyes widened at this admission. "The artefact itself, that one got destroyed by Dumbledore. A friend of his was the actual owner, and agreed that destroying it would be the safest option."

"So a professor died, while being possessed by someone, after he tried to steal a valuable item… why wasn't the DMLE told about this? They surely would have opened an investigation about this, yet I heard nothing about it." Susan questioned. She had trouble believing the story, it sounded even more fantastical than some of the other rumours flying around. Yet, she didn't peg Delia as someone who would lie about something as grand as this. Interesting.

"It wasn't in the papers either." Hannah added as an afterthought.

Delia paused at this. Susan had a point, where had the police been? Surely they would have investigated an attempted murder and a killing in self defence? Even the potential heist of a ridiculously valuable item on its own could have warranted an investigation. Even this year, with all the petrifications, there had been no aurors involved, except for them locking up Hagrid, just so they could be seen doing something. "I… I don't know why the law enforcement wasn't involved. They definitely should have investigated Quirrell and should have at least questioned me about the events. Maybe they talked it through with Dumbledore?"

"No, if the DMLE was aware of it, I would have definitely been questioned about it by my aunt, she is the head of the department after all." Susan spoke, with not a single ounce of doubt. Delia was shocked. She didn't know Susan's aunt had such an important position.

"It's also weird how the DMLE didn't show up in relation to those petrifications." Neville added, "Surely the petrification of several students by unknown people must have been a solid basis for an investigation?"

"Well, they did arrest Hagrid and sent him to Azkaban for it." Delia commented, still bitter about it. She really disliked the minister because of it.

"WHAT?" Was a simultaneous outcry from all three other occupants. "They sent him to that hellhole just like that?" Hannah exclaimed, completely outraged.

"Yes, minister Fudge said that he had to be seen doing something." Delia answered, her disgust clear on her face.

"I can't believe this, I'll have to ask my aunt about it. Something is just not right, about any of this." Susan said.

"Delia, do you have any idea what happened to Lockheart? He was admitted to the hospital around the same time you were, but still hasn't been released. No one knows what happened to him." Neville asked.

"Oh, that asshole tried to wipe Ron's and my memory, luckily he used Ron's broken wand for the attempt and ended up wiping his own memories. Not sure what happened to him afterwards though." Delia answered, quite casually.

Susan's head fell into her hands, "I can't believe it, another teacher attacking students, and again no DMLE? What is wrong with Hogwarts?"

Hannah on the other hand looked more thoughtful "Why did he want to wipe your memory anyway?"

"We found the Chamber of Secrets, and he wanted to take credit for finding it. Apparently that's how he got the stories for his books. He found someone who did something unique and amazing, and then he simply wiped their memories and used the story for himself, as if he did all of it." Delia stated, as if it was just a minor detail.

"Good riddance to him." Neville uttered.

Susan's eyes started to twitch. Being raised with the head of DMLE as her guardian, she knew all about the laws and followed them to the dot. This started to become too much for her to handle.

"Hold on, backtrack a second there, did you just say you found the Chamber of Secrets?" Hannah asked, her face showing her disbelief. "You aren't really the heir of Slytherin right?"

Delia's eyes narrowed at Hannah, her temper slowly started to flare up. "No, I'm obviously not the heir." Delia spat. "If anyone actually did a bit of research or bothered to ask questions, then they would've known. But I guess it makes total sense to blame a little kid for the attack on muggleborns, a kid whose mother was a muggleborn and whose best friend is a muggleborn, right?" Delia glared at Hannah, before continuing "And yes, I found the chamber, if anyone just bothered looking into the matter, then they would've known that the chamber was opened about fifty years ago, and someone died back then. The person who died became a ghost, known as Moaning Myrtle, who is more than happy to tell her death story to anyone who asks."

Susan gave Hannah a pointed look, before she stated in a placating manner "Yes, we believe that you aren't the heir of Slytherin, Delia. We're sorry for how people, mainly Hufflepuffs, have treated you this past year. It wasn't fair. Besides, and no offence, but a second year being capable of such petrifying spells that even the entire Hogwarts staff hadn't heard of, is ridiculous on its own."

Delia nodded her thanks, and started to calm down a bit. The heir of Slytherin was still a sore topic for her. She decided against mentioning the basilisk being responsible for the petrifications. Maybe a story for a different time.

Neville couldn't hold in his curiosity anymore "But, do you know who actually is the heir of Slytherin?"

Delia flippantly answered "Yea, he's a guy going by the name Tom Marvolo Riddle. He seemed to have had some serious daddy issues and took it out on the school." After receiving some confused and disbelieving stares, she continued "But you would probably know him better under his made up name, Voldermort."

The other three occupants cringed at the use of his made up name, before everything started to sink in and their eyes became as big as saucers.

"B-bu-but you killed him, right?" Neville asked, fearful about Voldemort apparently still being alive, not that Delia could blame him for that fear, she wasn't exactly unaffected by it either.

"No, I defeated him, but never killed him. What was it that Dumbledore called it again? Ah yes, I vanquished him." Delia shrugged, before adding "Who do you think was the dark wizard that possessed Quirrell anyway?" Secretly, Delia enjoyed seeing their reactions to all of this. Their shock made for some hilarious facial expressions, if only she had a camera. Yea, she really needed to get a camera.

That last statement seemed to knock Susan out of her state of shock though. "Quirrell was possessed by You-Know-Who? You-Know-Who was our defence teacher for an entire year?!" She nearly screamed out. She really didn't know what to make of all of this. She would show the memory of this entire conversation to her aunt, that she was certain of. Her aunt needed to look into all of this. These claims were too serious to ignore.

"Yea he was, just immagine how much more enjoyable our classes would have been if he hadn't faked that stutter." That last remark made all three of them look at Delia as if she was completely mental.

Hannah said, in a broken voice "Can we please talk about something else? I rather not think about any of this."

The topic of conversation soon switched to summer plans, however it all stayed pretty awkward, as all of them were still thinking about everything Delia had revealed. Delia herself had to be careful during these conversations in order not to reveal too much about her homelife. Deep down, she was still ashamed about it all. Once the topic changed to professional Quidditch games and which teams would make it to the next World Cup finals, something she knew absolutely nothing about, she decided it was time for her to return to Ron and Hermione. They definitely would be wondering by now where she is.

"Hey guys, I think I should return to Ron and Hermione, before they claim I've been kidnapped and start searching the train for me."

Hannah snorted at this "Alright, don't be a stranger, alright? It was… interesting getting to know you." she added.

"Likewise!" Delia responded with a smile blooming on her face "Have a good summer!" She said, before leaving the compartment as the others chorused goodbye to her. She walked back to her previous compartment, wondering if anything would come of this conversation. She was sure that Susan would expose all of this to her aunt, which wouldn't be a bad thing to be honest. Maybe she should try to stay in contact with them via owl during the summer, or would that be weird after only talking with them once?

As she entered Ron and Hermione's compartment, she was instantly bombarded with Hermione half-screaming "Delia! Where have you been? We started to become so worried about you!" Delia sighed, why did she come back here again? Oh well, at least it's only for a few more hours.

AN: Am I being an ass by purposefully making it hard to guess Delia's parent? Yes, yes I am. A cookie to anyone who can figure out who her parent is though, I currently have the 'reveal' planned in a chapter or two. Thank you for reading this chapter!

Next chapter will probably be up in a 2-3 weeks. Currently working on a chapter for my other FF.

SaxcuL. the all-knowing: Guess you aren't all knowing after all hehe… I'll see myself out. But as said above, reveal is currently planned in a chapter or two, whenever she visits the goblins.

Sypho Dias: I am leaning on the latter, yes. I initially was down to include Apollo, the problem is I just haven't exactly figured out how to do so, thus I ended up scrapping the idea.

Anon2018 (?) - Not fully there yet, but it's definitely better now. Thanks!
I decided on Delia becoming a Gryffindor, for multiple reasons, mainly because I will be following canon up until now. As you can see by the end of the chapter, she starts questioning some of her decisions, she is about to become 13 (taking the jumps into account, she kinda already is 13) and wants to become more independent, she starts thinking more for herself now instead of just going with the flow.
Some of the people you mentioned will become her friends, but obviously it takes a bit of time now.
She isn't the perfect Ravenclaw aka super intelligent kid, but she will definitely start taking her education more seriously starting year 3 after receiving a wake-up call.
She definitely is pagan now, considering she knows that the gods etc are real.
The books were meant as a gift by the twins, the healing came from Apollo yes ;)
Everything goblins related will be in about two chapters. There will be talk about the key, blood test, … the classic HP FF stuff basically.
