Hello everyone, sorry for the wait, I have very little time to write these, and I try to get as much done as possible. Also I know Lio and Song calls Scarlemagne, Hugo in the past, but I'm going to keep using Scarlemagne when they talk to him or he talk.
Now onto adventure 18.
Adventure 18
Sympathy For The Mandrill And The Darkness Of the Past
The Past
In the past, Lio was trying to teach a young unmutated Scarlemagne his name with blocks, as Song watched them, writing down what she. "Hey, can you tell me what that says?" Lio asked Scarlemagne. But Scarlemagne said nothing and played with the blocks. "No response to formula 124." Song said, as she wrote a negative result on her paper.
That's when Emilia walked into the room. "Status report on the mandrill?" Emilia asked Song and Lio. "No signs of mutation, yet." Song said to Emilia, as Scarlemagne jumped into Lio's arms.
"We only have a few non-intelligent animals from the old world left. Increase the pace. I want him on two, three formulas a day. We will be the ones who learn what made the animals mutate. And then we will fix them. Understood?" Emilia said to them, before leaving.
This made Lio and Song look at each other with worried looks in their eyes. "Guess I've gotta give you some more formula, Hugo. I'm sorry." Lio said to Scarlemagne. This made Scarlemagne run into a connor, very scared.
"It's OK. Look, we got something for you." Lio said to Scarlemagne, as he pulled out the blankets Baby Kipo and Kalena were wrapped in. "Which one do you want?" Lio asked Scarlemagne.
Scarlemagne pointed to the one star pattern one. Lio then put the sun blanket away, and placed the star blanket around Scarlemagne. "Yeah, that's better." Lio said to Scarlemagne, as he picked up Scarlemagne. "Formula 125." Song said, before feeding Scarlemagne the formula. "One-hundred twenty-five. Have a good feeling about this one." Lio said to Song.
But 125 did nothing, and they kept this up for a very, very, very long time. And in that time Scarlemagne and grown up, and under the night sky while Scarlemagne was fast asleep. A black crack appeared and widened.
Then a cloaked figure had two sleeves in the cloak but only the left sleeve had an arm in it, and the right sleeve was just hanging there, walking out of the crack. "So you're Hugo?" The cloaked figure said, with a male voice, as he squatted down.
"I don't know what Necrozma is thinking when he asks me to do this to you, but I don't have time to question it. I have to hurry if I want to make it to the ceremony with Phi on time. I'm still getting an earful for being late for the ceremony last year." The cloaked figure said, as he put a Pink Light Crystal on the back of Scarlemagne's head.
The cloaked figure noticed lines of pink energy following around Scarlemagne. This made Scarlemagne toss and turn a little, before light faded. "Good. It worked. Now then, I wish you luck with your new taste on life." The cloak figure said to Scarlemagne, before walking through the crack before it closed.
The next morning, Lio and Song walked into the room. "Formula 3,853. I've got a good feeling about this one." Lio said to Song, with a very flat and tired tune in his voice.
Then Scarlemagne poured the bricks out and spelled out Hugo. "Hoo-go." Scarlemagne said to Lio and Song, making them gasp. "Hu-go. Hugo!" Scarlemagne said to them, as he stood up. This made Lio and Song laugh.
"Hugo. That's right. That's your name! You did it!" Lio said to Scarlemagne, as he and Song hugged Scarlemagne. "Welcome to our world, Hugo." Song said to Scarlemagne, as she noticed something in the back of Scarlemagne head.
Song then pulled out the Pink Light Crystal, which had a very dull light now, and looked at it for a few seconds, before it broke apart into nothing. "That was a Light Crystal. You think that might be how he muted?" Song asked Lio.
"Of course. Why didn't we think of it sooner. They are records of Mutes having certain Light Crystals scattered around their homes." Lio said to Song. "I guess we should tell Emilia." Song said to Lio. "Should we?" Lio asked Song.
Las Vasta Forest
Back in the present, Emilia was explaining her plan to take down Scarlemagne. "We'll reach Scarlemagne's palace from the tunnels underneath. This is where we'll lead the humans out while Kipo fights off the Mega Monkey, I'm pointing to no one. And where is Kipo, and Kalena as well?" Emilia asked everyone.
"How should we know? Maybe they don't want to attend your heartless meeting and listen to your plan that will have you betraying us in the end." Aqua said to Emilia, with her forcing her voice to sound deeper, her hood up and not looking at Emilia, earning a mean look from Emilia.
"I'm not going to betray you. I don't know where you're getting this terrible information from. But where are they?" Emilia said to Aqua, before asking everyone else. "They've been asleep all day. Transforming into a giant jaguar is pretty exhausting. Plus Kalena gave her some special hard training last night so they're very tired." Benson said to Emilia.
"Fine, you can catch her." Emilia said to Benson. "Now, all we need is someone to steal a nectar bomb from under Scarlemagne's palace, we so we can blow the tunnels behind us." Emilia said to everyone.
"To cover our escape. Yeah right. Just tell everyone its true purpose, to blow up some mutes, or me and my friends." Aqua said to Emilia, with her forcing her voice to sound deeper. "If you don't trust me with the nectar bomb, then why don't you get it." Emilia said to Aqua.
"You got it. Despite Aqua's out of normal mode, we're great at sneaking around." Wolf said to Emilia. "Yeah. We're small and fast!" Benson said to Emilia. "Am I'm very likeable." Dave said to Emilia.
Las Vasta Sewer
A couple minutes later, Aqua, Benson, Wolf, Dave, and their Pokemon were walking in the sewers. "Kipo said she and Kalena would be back by now. They definitely got captured." Dave said to everyone.
"Yeah, that's why we're getting the nectar we can find Kipo and Kalena, and-" Wolf said to Dave, but was interrupted by Dave. "Shj, shut up for a sec, those nectar bombs are right under Scarlemagne's palace!" Dave said to everyone, before gasping.
"We can break Kipo and Kalena out, then stop somewhere for dinner on the way back! Emilia's none the wiser." Dave said to everyone. Aqua then hit Dave on the top of the head. "That was already the plan." Aqua said to Dave, with her normal voice. "Minus the dinner part." Benson said to Dave.
"So. you're saying I made the plan even better." Dave asked everyone. "Hopefully, Mandu and Cloak can keep Dr. Emilia from getting suspicious." Wolf said to everyone, as they left Mandu and Cloak to play the sleeping Kipo and Kalena. "Considering she doesn't care about anything but her own goals, she won't bother checking on Kipo or Kalena until the coronation happens." Aqua said to Wolf.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Meanwhile in Scarlemagne's Palace, Kipo and Kalena were wearing some of Scarlemagne's puffy dresses, and sitting at a big table full of food with Javin and Lio sitting with them. And while Kipo and Virgo stuff their faces, Kalena and Javin were sitting at opposite sides of the table, and traded mean looks, with Kommo-o and Maira right behind them. Then some of Kipos food crumbs hit Javin
"Kipo do you have to be such a pig?" Javin asked Kipo, as he cleaned himself off. "Sorry, but this is really, really good!" Kipo said to Javin. "Kipo, are you hurt? Did you go to the goats? I'm so glad you're here, but what are you doing here?!" Lio asked Kipo.
"Don't worry, Dad. I'm OK. A lot has happened since I saw you. And one of the biggest things was finding my long lost twin sister. Dad, say high, to Kalena Oak." Kipo said to Lio. "So it's really you?" Lio asked Kalena. "High dad. I'm sorry our long awaited reunion hasn't always been at the best of times." Kalena said to Lio.
"Kipo and Kalena Oak, I can't tell you how long I've waited for this." Scarlemagne said to them, as he walked up to everyone. "Just do what he asks. It's gonna be all right." Lio said to Kipo and Kalena.
"Do you like your dress? Tell me. Wait, don't tell me! OK, tell me." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena. "So, uh, wait, you want me to tell you?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne. "Desperately!" Scarlemagne said to Kipo.
"It's lovely. And poofy." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Well I don't like it, it's fragile and not very movable for fighting." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. "I told you she would've liked armor instead of a dress." Javin said to Scarlemagne.
"To be honest, I thought we'd be locked in a spooky dungeon eating dirt." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Don't give him any ideas." Lio said to Kipo, making Scarlemagne chuckle.
"Please, you two are no prisoners! You two are my guest of honor, free to do as you two please. Eat, wander, relax, but… no jaguar or dragon business." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena, as he moved behind Lio and grabbed Lio's shoulders.
Javin then pointed his tump to the side, making Kipo and Kalena notice archers at the ready. "Uh…OK." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Wonderful! Now that we have all the nasties out of the way, I must admit, I had ulterior motives for our little soiree." Scarlemagne said to everyone. "And that is?" Kalena asked Scarlemagne.
"Some mutes have been rather fixed on the Burrow and Dragon Girls. The half-mute heroes of Brunchington Beach, who fought off the tyrant Scarlemagne. You can see how that's bad for my image." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena, before stuffing food into their mouths.
"And it doesn't help that my right hand ended up destroying the place." Scarlemagne said to everyone, as he looked at Javin. "Hey you wanted Cappuccino, Kipo, and Kalena, and I wanted Dawn. smashing the place was the only way I could make Cappuccino talk." Javin said to Scarlemagne.
"In any case, tomorrow I want you two to stand by my side as I take the crown, thus silencing any doubts of the total authority of Scarlemagne." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena.
"But your name isn't Scarlemagne. It's Hugo. What happened to you?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne. "Lio… my own baby sisters and you never told them about us?" Scarlemagne asked Lio. This made Lio look away from everyone. "Well, tell them! No, don't tell them. I'll tell them." Scarlemagne said to Lio.
The Past
In the past, Scarlemagne was reading a book out loud to Lio and a pregnant Song. "Which is why he would forever be known as King Louis the Beloved. Do kings still exist on the surface?" Scarlemagne asked them.
"No. Not… not for a long time." Lio said to Scarlemagne. "Maybe I could be the king. And I'll throw big parties and wear beautiful habiliments. That means clothes. We could all live in my palace! And go where we want, with no walls to contain us!" Scarlemagne said to them, getting loud and excited. This made Lio and Song shush him.
"Remember buddy, no one else can hear you talk. It's too dangerous." Lio said to Scarlemagne. "Things changed for us the moment you spoke your name. But we're afraid if she hears you, she'll take you away from us." Song said to Scarlemagne. This made Scarlemagne feel sad. Lio and Song then moved up to hug Scarlemagne.
After a few seconds, Lio and Song walked out of the room. "Good night, King Hugo." Song said to Scarlemagne, before they closed the door. Still feeling sad, Scarlemagne moved to his piano. Scarlemagne then started to play a slow tempo song.
"I'm not supposed to play the piano when I'm all alone. Or Sing Along to melodies. All of my own. So, though I have perfect pitch. And a rather perfect ear." Scarlemagne sang, as he played the piano
"I'll never play a song. In case somebody else is near. Sure, yes, I'm rather bored. And could use some release." Scarlemagne sang, as he looked around the room.
"But it's hardly worth the risk. I think you'd easily agree. I could play a rocking solo. Yes, believe me I could shred. But I'm careful lad. So, I'll just play it in my head." Scarlemagne sand, before pretending he was playing the piano in a fancy palace for a ball.
But Scarlemagne got so lost in his daydream, that he didn't notice Emilia walking by with baby Aqua on her back. But Scarlemagne did notice Emilia, when he heard Amilia gasp and Aqua giggling in amusement.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back in the present. "She'd seen me. Dr. Emilia." Scarlemagne said to everyone. "Dr. Emilia." Kipo asked Scarlemagne. "Yes, the very same Dr. Emilia who savagely massacred my kind." Javin said Kipo. "What?" Kalena asked Javin.
"Ah, ah, ah. Don't interrupt, it's rude. Didn't you teach your girls any manners Lio. I know I've tried teaching Javin manners, but he can get so aggressive when we talk about Emilia." Scarlemagne said to everyone. "No then. As I was saying." Scarlemagne said to everyone, as he got back to his story.
The Past
In the past, Scarlemagne was hiding behind Song and Lio. "OK, OK. We… We were going to tell you about our progress. But… but… but we had to confirm the results." Lio said to Emilia.
"Yeah, I just watched a monkey play a piano solo. I think they're confirmed. So which formula held the mutagen?" Emilia asked then, with Greta and Zane behind them and baby Aqua still on her back. "We don't know." Song said to Emilia. "Excuse me?!" Emilia asked them, with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"You had us giving him three variations just today." Song said to Emilia. "And who knows whether this was a delayed effect or a reaction between two different formulas-." Lio said to Emilia, but was interrupted by Emilia.
"Then I'll do it myself. We're so close to turning these mutes back into the animals they are." Emilia said to them, making Scarlemagne sweat. "Zane, take a sample." Emilia said to Zane.
Zane smirked as he took a syringe with a needle. "Come here, monkey." Zane said to Scarlemagne, making Scarlemagne run away. "Stop, you're scaring him." Lio said to Zane, trying to get in the way, only for Zane to push Lio down to the ground.
Zane then walked up to a very scared Scarlemagne, who was holding his face in fear. Zane then grabbed Scarlemagne arm and forceful pulled it, causing some of Scarlemagne sweet to hit Zane.
This made Zane fall under Scarlemagne mind control. "Stop it!" Scarlemagne said to Zane, making Zane freeze. Scarlemagne then noticed this and was confused. "Um, let me go? Please?" Scarlemagne asked Zane.
Zane then let him go. "Zane? What are you doing?" Emili asked Zane. "Mandrills have pheromones that can influence other primates, but the mutagen must have heightened the effects." Song said to everyone.
Emilia then walked up to them, and looked at Zane in a trance. "Tell him something else. Do it." Emilia forcefully said to Scarlemagne. "Do the waltz?" Scarlemagne asked Zane, with a nervous tune in his voice.
Zane then did the waltz without missing a step. "Incredible." Song said. "You two, stay here. Don't let him out of your sight!" Emilia said to Song and Lio, before taking Zane away with Greta following her.
Song and Lio then moved up to Scarlemagne. "What you just did is remarkable! A little scary, but remarkable." Song said to Scarlemagne. "Is it true? You only gave me intelligence so you could take it away from everyone else?" Scarlemagne asked them.
Lio and Song looked at each other for a couple seconds. "That's how it started. But you showed us we couldn't be a part of that anymore. That's why we're going to escape the burrow." Lio said to Scarlemagne.
"Let's leave right now." Scarlemagne said to them. "We… we can't." Lio said to Scarlemagne. "Yes, we can! I can make them do whatever I want with my pheromone. I can make them pay for being so mean to us…" Scarlemagne said to them.
"I know you're angry, and I am too, but forcing people to do things against their will, that's wrong, Hugo." Lio said to Scarlemagne. This made Scarlemagne look away with a sad look in his eyes. "As soon as the baby's born, we're breaking you out of here." Song said to Scarlemagne. "We'll escape together. I promise." Lio said to Scarlemagne, before they hugged him.
Las Vasta Sewer
Back in the present. Wolf led everyone into the room where the nectar bombs were stored. "We only have a couple of minutes before the guards are back." Wolf said to everyone. "Those nectar bombs are close. I can feel it deep in my bug bones." Dave said to everyone, as he leaned against a box.
"Or on your back, because you're leaning against it." Aqua said to Dave, as she pulled him off the box, and turned Dave to box. Wolf then opened one of the boxes, and Dave took out one of the nectar bombs in it.
"Dave, you better hold that thing tight. One wrong move and this whole cave goes up like a firecracker." Benson said to Dave, as everyone looked at Dave. While looking at Dave, none of them noticed Aqua swiping a nectar bomb for herself, before Wolf closed the box.
Then they heard footsteps. "Shh… Guards, hide!" Wolf said to everyone. And while everyone hid, Dave froze. Then the guard walked past them. "Close one. Now, let's rescue Kipo and Kalena." Wolf said to everyone, as they moved out of their hiding spot, and noticed Dave didn't have the nectar bomb any more.
"Wait, where's the bomb?" Wolf asked Dave. "I panicked. You guys were leaping behind crates like majestic gazelles, and I didn't want them to see that I had the nectar bomb, so, I kinda ate it." Dave said to everyone. "Oh, Dave. Oh, no." Benson said, as he got very worried.
The Past
In the past, Lio walked into Scarlemagne's room, only to find Emilia experimenting on him, making my Scarlemagne run endlessly on a treadmill, collecting Scarlemagne sweet. And while watching Scarlemagne and writing stuff down, Baby Aqua was watching Scarlemagne, with a very sad look on her face
"I expected the mutation to affect his size, his intelligence, sure. But, to manifest a power like this? Don't you think it's impressive Dawn?" Emilia asked Dawn, as Scarlemagne got off the treadmill and dropped to his knees, a hand on the glass.
Baby Aqua touched the spot on the glass where Scarlemagne was touching. Then baby Aqua let out a sad cry, like she didn't like this.
"What are you doing?!" Lio asked Emilia, getting her attention. "Well, my test has failed to figure out what caused his change. So I'm studying his new trick. It's an incredible discovery, is it not?" Emilia asked Lio.
Lio then moved to Scarlemagne's side. "You can't lock him in a cage! He's a person!" Lio said to Emilia. "He's an animal, Lio. The future of the human race is on the line. So, think like a scientist and stop getting so attached. I trust you won't need any more convincing." Emilia said to Lio, holding a bottle of Scarlemagne sweet at him.
Lio said nothing, as Emilia took baby Aqua and left. "It's OK. it's just a little longer until the baby comes." Scarlemagne said to Lio. "I promise." Lio said to Scarlemagne.
Time passed, and Emilia kept draining as much of Scarlemagne sweet as she could, all the while baby Aqua getting more and more upset with each visit. And while Lio visited him at night trying to make Scarlemagne feel better.
Then, one night, the place started to rumble and alarms sounded. This made Scarlemagne wake up and gasp. "Hello? What's happening?! Hello?" Scarlemagne called out. But that's when something caused the room to break apart in a violent and destructive way, making Scarlemagne yell in fear.
Lucky for Scarlemagne he was free from his cage and was okay, minus a couple scratches around his face. Then the light of the morning sun woke Scarlemagne up. The light of the sun blinded him, and he got scared.
Then Scarlemagne felt the rumbling, and turned his head to see Song in her Mega Monkey form, with Emilia controlling her with his sweet. And on Emilia's back, as baby Aqua who was crying out in fear very loudly, with many tears flowing from her eyes. But Emilia wasn't listening, either she didn't care or was focusing on the Power Song had.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back in the present. Everyone but Lio and Scarlemagne had a shocked look on their face. "It wasn't you? Dr. Emilia was controlling my mom?!" Kipo asked. "That means the one who made mom attack your burrow wasn't Scarlemagne, but Emilia." Kalena said to Kipo.
"And here I thought Emilia was just a danger to us mutes. But it sounds like she's a danger to all living creatures." Javin said to everyone.
"Wait, what did you two say? The massive monkey is Song? She's alive?" Scarlemagne asked Kipo and Kalena. "Yes. We found a picture of her, and her arm was the same fur as the Mega Monkey." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. "I knew there was something different about the Mage Monkey." Scarlemagne said, before everyone looked at Lio.
"Song's pregnancy had side effects. And with your pheromone, Dr. Emilia turned her into a weapon. I spent months tracking them, and I tried to get her back, but she's gone." Lio said to everyone.
"No, Dad, she's not! She knew who me and Kalena were." Kipo said to Lio. "What? Uh… Are you sure?" Lio asked Kipo. "Yes. She's still in." Kalena said to Lio. then Scarlemagne laugh.
"You failed her, and now I have her. Oh, that is so us." Scarlemagne said to Lio, making Lio sit down. "My parents raised you. They named you. They… they loved you. How could you hate them so much?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne.
"I was a child, on my own. Thrown into a world a billion times larger than anything I'd ever known. Do you have any idea what that's like?" Scarlemagne asked Kipo, slamming his hands into the table.
"Actallu, I kinda do. I know how scary it must have been alone." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "But you had me with you." Kalena said to Kipo. "I can only imagine how hard it was for you." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. "You have no idea what it was like." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena.
The Past
In the past, Scarlemagne was wandering around the ruined city, hiding from all manner of scary things for his young mind.
One night he went into a convent store to rest there for the night, and saw an old family carving in the back. This made Scarlemagne miss Song and Lio. Then he noticed some star and sun wrapping paper in the back and used them to make a bed and blanket. Scarlemagne then went to sleep in front of the old family carving.
Next morning, a Mega Bunny woke up, causing Scarlemagne to run away in fear. Scarlemagne then found himself hiding in the forest around his palace, and saw something move into the tree. Curious, he followed them into the tree.
Scarlemagne then walked into the area that would be his palace. "It's a palace!" Scarlemagne said, as he took in the beauty of the place. That's when rock music was playing and getting loud. Scarlemagne then hid behind the piano, and saw Gerard, Lemieux, and Porcelain run it, with all three of them rocking a goth look while rocking out.
"They're just like me. Well, kind of." Scarlemagne said, before looking at the piano. Scarlemagne then had an idea and played the piano. This got Gerard, Lemieux, and Porcelain attention, and made them stop their rock music.
Scarlemagne noticed they stopped, and stopped playing before turning to them. "Um, hello, chaps. The names' Hugo, and I have wonderful news. You are my first friends on the surface!" Scarlemagne said to them, as Gerard walked up to him.
"What are you doing in our dark food court? This is my domain." Gerard said to Scarlemagne, before sniffing him. "You smell like a human." Gerard said to Scarlemagne. "Oh, gross. Humans are disgusting." Lemieux said, pinching her nose.
"They are not!" Scarlemagne said to Lemieux, slamming a fist into the piano. "You're a weirdo, aren't you?" Gerard asked Scarlemagne. "Seems a bit harsh." Scarlemagne said to Gerard.
"OK, tell you what, I'll give you a chance to prove your worth in battle." Gerard said to Scarlemagne, slamming his fist into his other hand. "Hm… please, say it's a battle of wits." Scarlemagne said to Gerard.
But that's when Gerard moved to the side, and Porcelain lunged at Scarlemagne. Then Porcelain rammed Scarlemagne face into the piano, before tossing him. "Oh, you're very strong. Good for you." Scarlemagne said with a weak voice, as he was sweating nervously.
"Should I finish him?" Porcelain asked everyone. Gerard chuckled a little. "Go for it." Gerard said to Porcelain. Scarlemagne then started to panic. He then noticed his sweat dripping down his face, and then thought of the only thing he could do.
As Porcelain tried to punch Scarlemagne in the face, Scarlemagne flicked his sweat into Porcelain's face, making Porcelain fall under his control. "You're going to lose the fight." Scarlemagne quickly said to Porcelain.
Then Scarlemagne tackled Porcelain to the ground. But Porcelain forced Scarlemagne off her. Then Porcelain tried to jump onto Scarlemagne, but Scarlemagne kicked her away.
Then as Scarlemagne got up, Gerard and Lemieux were enjoying the fight. "Yeah. Gerard said. "C'mon Porcelain! You can do it, just get him!" Lemieux said to Porcelain.
Then Scarlemagne ran up and headbutted Porcelain in the face. This caused Porcelain to fall to the ground, with Scarlemagne painting. "Not bad! All right, you're in." Gerard said to Scarlemagne. This made Scarlemagne smile.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back in the present. Wolf was leading everyone through the basement, with Benson and Dave freaking out a little with the fact that Dave ate the nectar bomb. "Ok, Dave. Easy does it. One step at a time." Benson said to Dave.
Then Dave's stomach started to rumble. Then Dave slowly started to walk. But stopped at a crack. "Go without me. I'll never make it." Dave said to everyone. "We would never." Benson said to Wolf. "Yeah, you have the bomb." Wolf said to Dave, earning a mean look from Benson.
"But what if I explode? Everyone but me would die! And I'll be bummed out for a really long time!" Dave said to everyone. "Scarlemagne's palace is guard by a thousand mind-controlled humans. It's gonna take all of us to break Kipo and Kalena out. I know you can do it. I believe." Benson said to Dave.
"What about Wolf and Aqua. Do you two believe in me just as Benson?" Dave asked everyone. "Uh… Uh… yep." Wolf said to Dave. "You paused!" Dave said to Wolf. "Just please don't blow us up." Wolf said to Dave. "And I believe that you won't make a mess until the worst possible moment." Aqua said to Dave.
"Whoa, everyone's counting on me." Dave said to everyone, as he held his left leg over the crack. "Oh, almost there." Dave said, as he froze and Benson freaked out. Then Benson stepped over the crack. "I did it!" Dave said to everyone.
This made Benson and Wolf breathe a breath of fresh air. That's when Dave noticed mover cracks, and gasped. "NO!" Dave yelled. "Oh for the love of…" Aqua said, as she walked up to Dave, picked Dave up and carried him under her arms. "Let's go!" Aqua said to everyone.
The Past
In the past, Scarlemagne was following Gerard, Lemieux, and Porcelain through the forest. With Lemieux and Porcelain quietly talking bad about Scarlemagne. "Hey, hey, quiet down. We're here." Gerard said to everyone, as they reached the Newton Wolves Observatory, with the Newton Wolves distracted by something.
"They're distracted. Let's loot that observatory." Gerard said to everyone. "Oh, we're stealing?" Scarlemagne asked Gerard. "Yeah, that's how it works up here. You stick with your kind and take what you need from everyone else." Gerard said to Scarlemagne, as they started to move.
"Stay back! Stay away!" a familiar voice to Scarlemagne said to the Newton Wolves. This got Scarlemagne attention, and Scarlemagne stayed to see if he was right about who that was.
"Everybody, cool it!" one of the Newton Wolves said to the rest, before they sniffed the air. "Smells like fresh meat." another Newton Wolf said. "It's those goth apes! C'mon, let's get 'em!" The Newton Wolf said, as the Newton Wolves charged. "Oh, snap, run!" Porcelain said, as she, Gerard, and Lemieux ran away with the Newton Wolves on their tails.
This left Scarlemagne see that the Newton Wolves where bothering Lio, with baby Kipo and Kalena wrapped in their blankets in one hand, and a stick in the other. "Lio. Lio!" Scarlemagne said, as he ran up to Lio. "Hugo?" Lio asked Scarlemagne, surprised by them being here. But it was a welcome surprise and he ran up to hug Scarlemagne.
The two hug each other for a couple seconds, before breaking the hug. "I thought you were…" Lio said to Scarlemagne, before noticing the scars on Scarlemagne's face. "Oh, Hugo. I can't tell you how good it is to see you." Lio said to Scarlemagne.
Scarlemagne then looked around, and noticed Song wasn't with them. "Where's Song?" Scarlemagne asked Lio. "When the burrow fell… we barely made it out." Lio said to Scarlemagne, before showing him a sleeping baby Kipo and Kalena.
"Are those my blankets?" Scarlemagne asked Lio. "Hugo, I-." Lio said to Scarlemagne, but was interrupted by Scarlemagne. "You promised we would all leave together and Song was only going to have one baby. Did you even try to save me? Did you at least return, to see if I'd survived the collapse?" Scarlemagne asked Lio, as he grabbed both baby Kipo and Kalena, waking them up and making them cry.
"It all happened so fast. Emilia came for the babies. We had to run. Hugo, we've been running ever since. But you made it out, and now we are together! You, me… and these two are Kipo and Kalena." Lio said to Scarlemagne, showing him baby Kipo and Kalena, who stopped crying for a few seconds.
But Scarlemagne wasn't interested in the babies, his mind a fix on the fact that Lio never even tried to look for him. "You didn't even look." Scarlemagne said to Lio. "May I… hold one of them?" Scarlemagne asked Lio, with a bad smile on his face.
"I don't think…" Lio said to Scarlemagne, as he took a step back, as baby Kipo and Kalena cried a little. "Let me hold them!" Scarlemagne yelled, as he lunged for baby Kipo and Kalena and grabbed their blankets.
In a panic, Lio pushed Scarlemagne off them, ripping a piece off the blankets. "I'm sorry." Lio said to Scarlemagne. But Scarlemagne just started laughing, like a crazy person. In fear, Lio ran away with baby Kipo and Kalena in hand.
Soon Scarlemagne returned to his palace, panting and sweating like crazy. "Hugo, where'd you go? You missed…" Gerard said to Scarlemagne, but was interrupted by Scarlemagne splashing him with some of his sweat.
"You're no longer the leader of this pack. You're a subject. My subject. You know, I was once told that forcing someone to act against their will is wrong. But, you know what I think is wrong? Ignoring that which makes you superior. The surface shall have kings once more. And the world will bow before-." Scarlemagne said to everyone, but as interrupted by Porcelain.
"Hugo?" Porcelain asked Scarlemagne. "No… Scarlemagne!" Scarlemagne said to everyone, while looking at a relation of himself and laughing madly.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back in the present, Scarlemagne was laughing like a madman, before suddenly stopping. "So, you see, Kipo? Kalena? All of this really began with your father… with our father." Scarlemagne said to them, holding a hand out to Lio.
"Dad, how could you leave him?" Kipo asked Lio. "I had to make a choice. And I chose you two." Lio said to Kipo. "There shouldn't have been a choice at all. Hugo is our brother, one we never got to know because you were more worried about the two of us than him. I understand a lot was going on, but you still should have looked for him and helped him when he needed you most, not run away. If there's one thing I learned from my time with the Kommo-o's, it's you don't leave a member of the family behind no matter who he or she is." Kalena said to Lio.
"You're right. I'm sorry." Lio said to Kalena. "I'm not the one you should apologize to." Kalena said to Lio. "Right." Lio said to Kalena.
"I am so sorry, Hugo-." Lio said to Scarlemagne, but was interrupted by Scarlemagne knocking a tray off the table. "Don't you dare call me that! Take him away!" Scarlemagne said to Lio, turning away from everyone, before two humans dragged him away, making Kipo and Kalena gasp.
Then Kipo and Kalena hugged Scarlemagne. "What? What are you doing?" Scarlemagne asked them. "We're hugging you." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Is it not obvious?" Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
"Why?" Scarlemagne asked them. "Because you need it." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "And it's something long over do brother." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. Scarlemagne dare not say anything or move.
Watching this, Javin felt bad and pulled out Flash's doll of himself, and seeing Kipo, Kalena, and Scarlemagne hugging each other made Javin wish he could hug Flash.
Meanwhile underground, everyone was back in the sewer of the place, with Aqua still carrying Dave. "Man, that was tense." Benson said to everyone. "It's not over yet." Aqua said, as she felt Dave's stomach rumble. The rumble was loud enough that everyone heard it.
"Dave, what was that?" Wolf asked Dave. "OK, it is possible that this explosive nectar is upsetting my stomach." Dave said to everyone. "Run!" Wolf said, as Aqua dropped Dave, and everyone else ran away.
Benson looked down to see Dave running with them. "Dave, no! Stop following us!" Benson said to Dave. "Oh, oops! My bad." Dave said to everyone, as he stopped running. "Take cover!" Benson said to everyone, as they took cover in a doorway.
That's when Dave exploded into goo. Everyone turned their heads to see Dave in his buff form, the nectar bomb in hand. "Oh, I think I'm allergic to this stuff." Dave said, as he kept sneezing.
Then Dave did a big sneeze, and it forced Dave into his old form, tossing the nectar bomb into the air. Everyone rushed and grabbed the nectar bomb, as Dave kept sneezing, circling threw his forms until he was in his teen form.
"Bless you." Benson said to Dave. "What are you nerds waiting for? Scarlemagne's palace is this way." Dave said to everyone, as he walked away. Only for Dave to sneeze and change into his normal form.
Meanwhile back up top. Kipo and Kalena moved to Lio cell., and found him sitting in the back "Dad?" Kipo asked Lio, getting his attention. "He's right. All of this is my fault. You two must hate me." Lio said to them.
"Of course not." Kipo said to Lio. "Yeah dad, how could you have known all this would have happened. You did what you could at the time. All this isn't your fault." Kalena said to Lio.
Lio felt a little better and walked to them. "No more secrets?" Kipo asked Lio. "No more secrets." Lio said to Kipo. "Now we just have to tell the others the truth." Kalena said to everyone.
Then there was an explosion behind them. Soon the rest of the gang came out from the smoke, coughing. "Are you sure that was only one drop of nectar?" Benson asked Wolf and Aqua. "I made sure it was just one flack of nectar. But apparently even that is really explosive." Aqua said to Benson, as she brushed the ash off her clothes.
"Whoa, that stuff was inside me." Dave said to everyone. "Let's find the secret prison and blow the doors off the place." Wolf said to everyone, as Aqua and Dave noticed Kipo and Kalena.
"I don't think we need to do that." Aqua said to Wold. "Yeah, we found her." Dave said to everyone, as the rest of them noticed Kipo and Kalena. "Hey." Kipo said to everyone. "We have some to tell you all." Kalena said to everyone.
