Hello everyone, this is a chapter I've been waiting to do. The reason is that in the chapter all the secrets about Aqua come to light for the rest of the gang, and far warning, their will be some suicidal talk and some self harm in this chapter.
Oh, and another reason this chapter took so long is that I made a new story called The Black Dragon's Christmas Carol, using The Muppet Christmas Carol as a base, 5 of my Dragon Prince characters are trapped in the book of a Pokemon version of the Christmas Carol and must finished the story and learn a lesson to get out. I'm posting all of it on Christmas eve and I hope you will like it when it comes out.

Adventure 19
All That Glitters And All That Pain
Scarlemagne's Palace
While hiding from the guards, Kipo and Kalena quickly told Scarlemagne's story to everyone. "So, it was Dr. Emilia the whole time?" Benson asked everyone. "If she rescues the people from the burrow-" Lio said to everyone. "SHe'll turn everyone into mute-hating weirdos, just like her-." Kipo said to everyone, finishing Lio's sentence. "When she's the one causing all of this." Kalena said to everyone, finishing Kipo's sentence.
"Mm-mm-mm. I knew I didn't like her. I saw the twisted soul that lives beneath the surface, and I said, "Benson, that is an evil woman"." Dave said to everyone. "Dave! That did not happen. Quit lying." Benson said to Dave.
"But I did. I've been telling you from the start not to trust her. That she will betray us. She only cares about causing pain. She even perverted my invention to commit horrible crimes." Aqua said to everyone, ranting.
"Wait? What was that part about your invention?" Kalena asked Aqua, making Aqua cover her mouth, with a surprise look on her face. "Aqua, what aren't you telling us?" Kipo asked Aqua. Aqua removed her hand from her mouth and sighed.
"Okay. The truth is I've been keeping secrets from all of you. My birth name is Dawn, and I'm Emilia's niece." Aqua said to everyone, surprising everyone. "So you're the baby Dawn in the story?" Kipo asked Aqua.
"Yep. Emilia likes showing me off and uses me like a rally flag. She always told me that since I was born on the surface, I will take the surface for the humans, and that everyone should help me do that." Aqua said to everyone. "She doesn't sound like the carrying type." Benson said to Aqua.
"The last thing Emilia is, is carrying. Growing up with her was a living nightmare. When I had a bad dream and tried to find comfort in Emilia, she would lock me in my room, telling me that I had to do it myself, for that's what it's going to take for me to reclaim the surface. When I wanted to read books about fairy tales, Emilia took them from me and gave me a very complete medical book and even tested me on the book, and if I failed those tests, and I failed a lot, she wouldn't let me eat. And whenever I wanted to play with toys or draw, Emilia told me that those were a waste of time for me, and wouldn't give me anything, and if I made a toy or drawing, Emilia would trash it telling me that I shouldn't waste my talent on stupid stuff." Aqua said to everyone, her fist clenching.
Everyone looked at Aqua with a sad look on their face. "Dawn I'm so sorry that happened to you." Lio said to Aqua. "My name is Aqua now." Aqua said to Lio. "But if your real name is Dawn, why did you introduce yourself as Aqua?" Dave asked Aqua.
"That's because after what happened not long before we met, I didn't want to be the Dawn, Emilia wanted me to be, and I wanted to be my own person." Aqua said to Dave. "What happened, Aqua?" Kipo asked Aqua.
"Thanks to Emilia, I generally spent my time in my room alone, tinkering with whatever scraps I could get my hands on. One day, after following Emilia around on the surface, I found a Purple Light Crystal. And I was drawn into its glow and warmth. When Emilia wasn't looking I took a couple pieces off it, and sneaked it back to my room. Once I was in my room, I started to poke it, wondering what this thing was. During the process I ended up cutting my hand, and clenched the crystal in pain. That's when the energy from the crystal entered my hand and healed my cut." Aqua said to everyone.
"Light Crystal's can do that?" Kipo asked Aqua. "Yes, and when it happened to me, it got my attention. So I started researching the Light Crystals and their Powers. I researched it for mouths, all the while Emilia not paying enough attention to me to notice. Through many tests I learned that the energy in Light Crystals resonated with different beings, with humans being random, but finding out that all the mutes of the same kind, like the Timbercats share the same resonation, with the Timbercats resonance with the Green Light Crystals for example." Aqua said to everyone.
"Oh, what Light Crystal resonates with me?" Dave asked Aqua. "No idea, I haven't run a test to figure that out." Aqua said to Dave.
"Back to my story. After finding out about the resonation fact, I finally understood why mutes gathered around those crystals, but then I wondered about how come they were so random with humans, so I got back to my research." Aqua said to everyone.
"Is that all you did? Research?" Dave asked Aqua. "I was 14 and had no one by my shadow to talk to. Emilia never bothered to take an interest in me unless it was for one of her own interests, and the other adults around me followed Emilia's order and only taught me facts. Not once did I get to do anything more than studying things I had no interest in." Aqua said to Dave.
"Anyway, while I never could figure out the randoms of humans, I did learn that the Light Crystals let out a small healing pulse, and with enough of them gathered minor wounds become null and void. As well as help the body fight off disease faster. Fascinated by this, I made a machine that would drain Light Crystals, but their effects would be ten times better. I know, because with my machine, I could fix broken bones in mere moments instead of weeks." Aqua said to everyone.
"How'd you figure that out?" Wolf asked Aqua. "Oh, well I cut my wrist, gave myself a nasty cold, and smashed my fingers. And like any scientist would, I did it many times." Aqua said to everyone, with a normal tune in her voice, with everyone looking at her with a very worried look on their faces.
"You what! You should have never done any of those to yourself! Why would you even think that's a good idea!?" Kipo asked Aqua, resisting the urge to examine Aqua. "Well I was experimenting with the Light Crystals healing potential. Plus I cut my wrist where it wouldn't be fatal and I could hide it. I just gave myself a really bad cold. And I just broke my left pinky finger, I don't even use it." Aqua said to Kipo.
"That's no excuse. So tell me why you did it to yourself?" Kipo asked Aqua, making Aqua sigh. "Because I didn't care." Aqua said to Kipo, making everyone go from worry to confused looks.
"Before I met Benson and Dave, no one cared about me. Emilia never once showed any sign of love or care to me. And to everyone else I was just a chore or disaction. One day with Benson and Dave gave me more love than 14 years with Emilia and her crew ever could. And it was that longing for love and care that led to me greatest sin. One that I will never atone for." Aqua said to everyone, looking down.
"Does this sin have to do with Javin?" Kalena said to Aqua. "Yes." Aqua said to Kalena.
"After a while, I completed my research and showed it to Emilia, at the time I didn't know why I was so eager to show her. But thanks to Mulhollan, I finally understood that deep down, I wanted any kind of love or recognition from Emilia. I wanted her to see me as a daughter, a person, anything. I just wanted her to stop treating me like I was just a tool for taking the surface. But showing Emilia was my biggest mistake in my life." Aqua said to everyone.
"Why, what happened?" Kipo asked Aqua. "Emilia had no interest in healing. Instead she found a wave to turn my research into a weapon, of course she made do all the work. In the end instead of a device of healing, it was a device of massive destruction. And Emilia used it on Javin's kind." Aqua said to Kipo. "You don't mean? What did this device do?" Kalena asked Aqua.
"The device supercharges Light Crystals, to the point they are very unstable and explodes with enough energy to reduce anything caught in the blast to ash. Emilia picked the Cheetah Boxers because they were her main obstacle for humans to take back the surface and unlike the other Mutes, they worship the Light Crystals more than others. So during one of the Cheetah Boers ceremonies, she tossed the device into their home and activated it." Aqua said to everyone, before hugging herself.
"Aqua?" Kalean asked Aqua, as all of them had a very worried look on her face.
"I can still hear the screams, taste the ash in the air, and the images of all those innocent Cheetah Boxers being turned into ash is burned into my mememery. I tried to look away and cover my ears, because this wasn't something I wanted to see. But Emilia forced me to watch, she told me I should watch my most amazing work with wide eyes and open ears, so that I would remember this with a clear memory." Aqua said to everyone, before crying a little.
"Aqua." Kipo said to Aqua, as they all gave Aqua a very sad look.
"When the explosions stopped, we started to clean out any Cheetah Boxers left, and I was the first one to find two of them, and while I was told to let everyone know when I find a Cheetah Boxer, I couldn't. I looked into their eyes and saw the fear and pain that I caused. Not wanting to cause more pain, I let them go, and when the others found a Cheetah Boxer, I lied and told them I would take care of them. And since it was my work that caused all that death, none of them questioned my lie about how I wanted to finish them. But instead of killing them, I help them get away"
"That means you save them from extinction, but where are they now?" Kipo asked Aqua.
"They won't need to be saved from extinction if it wasn't for my work. As to where they are. I have no idea, probably hidden somewhere. All I know is that after the disasters I caused, Emilia and her goons partied over the death of the Cheetah Boxers. But I felt no joy from it. I felt sadness, from the pain I had caused. And I felt rage towards Emilia for twisting my work. After the party we would start working on a large version device that would kill all the Mutes at once." Aqua said to everyone.
"But the mutes are still, did she never finish it?" Benson asked Aqua.
"No, she made it. But by that point I had enough and silently fought back. While I was quiet during most of the time working on the project, I secretly changed things on the inside of the device, and on the day we would fire it, I deleted all pans for the device, and rewired the release button into a boost button. Then with an act of surprise, I kept pushing the button, saying I was trying to release the energy, not letting onto the fact that this was all my plan. In the end, the device was trashed, and the massive amount of energy was released safely into the sky." Aqua said to everyone.
"That explains the energy reading we got before I showed up." Kalena said to everyone. "Can't she make another one of these things?" Kipo asked Aqua. "Nope. Emilia never understood my thought process, or understood me for that matter, the reason she made me do a lot of the work was because she never understood. And she can't make it now because she thinks I'm dead." Aqua said to everyone, making them look at her with wide eyes.
"What?" Kalena asked Aqua. "Yeah, when Emilia realized I betrayed her, she pinned me to the floor, and the device started to destroy the area around us. Emilia escaped in time, and while I got unpinned I was still trapped and was about to die. That's when Cloak came and saved me. After that I met Benson and Dave, and you know the rest." Aqua said to everyone.
"Well that does explain why you've been acting weird ever since we met Emilia. But if you knew all this, why didn't you tell us?" Kipo asked Aqua. "I didn't want you guys to know what kind of monster I am. After I met Benson and Dave, I planned to go hunting for Emilia, but Benson and Dave made me feel real joy for the first time. And I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could before I die." Aqua said to everyone,
"I'm sorry, die?!" Kipo asked Aqua, as everyone had a panicked look on their faces. "I don't deserve to live. After all the death I caused, I have no right. But I will not die until I take Emilia with me. Once she died without a shadow of doubt, I will kill myself. I'll walk up to Javin and let him take his vengeance on me for what I've done." Aqua said to everyone.
That's when Kalena walked up to Aqua, with a very serious look on her face. Kalena then punched Aqua in the cheek, knocking Aqua down. "I do not want to hear that from you!" Kalena said to Aqua. "Kalena?" Aqua asked Kalena, a look of confusion in her eyes.
"You're not the villain here, Emilia is. You made something for healing and helping, and she twisted it. Emilia caused all that pain, not you. You did the best you could with what you had and you saved those you could." Kalena said to Aqua.
"But…" Aqua said to Kalena, but was interrupted by Kalean. "No buts. You're one of us now, and this horrible person you think you are, isn't the person in front of me. You are a loyal friend and good person, who's had our back many times even when we made things crazy. When this is all over I promise you, I'll help heal those scars over your heart. And if anyone wants to hurt you for the choices of others, I will fight them. I'll fight the whole world if it means you can live a long and happy life." Kalena said to Aqua.
Aqua said nothing, but her heart was beating so fast she was sure everyone could hear it, and if it wasn't dark everyone could see her face turn light red.
"Guy, I hate to ruin the moment. But me and Kalean have to go, we wasted too much time here. You gotta stop Dr. Emilia from getting to the coronation. By any means necessary." Kipo said to everyone. "Don't worry. I'll make sure Emilia only goes 6 feet under." Aqua said to Kipo.
"No, don't kill her. I just need you to stop her." Kipo said to Aqua. "Oh, you mean fight dirty. Yeah, we can do that." Dave said to Kipo, as he started to pick up rocks. "Dave, always with the rocks. We're not throwing rocks at Dr. Emilia." Benson said to Dave. "At least not with rocks that tiny." Aqua said to Dave. "We're not throwing rocks!" Benson said to everyone.
"Kipo, Kalena, aren't you two coming?" Benson asked Kipo and Kalena. "Well, Scarlemagne's kind of opened up to us. I mean, he really told us a lot of personal stuff and-" Kipo said to everyone, but was interrupted by Wolf.
"Oh, you're gonna stay here and exploit his weaknesses for when you have to fight him." Wolf said to Kipo. "Yep, you guessed it." Kipo said to Wolf, earning a "you're lying" look from Kalena. "Here. You take these." Dave said to Kipo, giving Kipo the rocks.
That's when they heard footsteps approaching. "Someone's coming." Wolf said to everyone. "Quick, go." Kalena said to everyone, as Wolf, Aqua, Benson, Dave and their Pokemon jumped into the hole they made, Lio moved to the wall, and Kalena and Kipo started to walk like they weren't
That's when Gerard ran up to Kipo and Kalena. "Hey, Scarlemagne wants you two to join him in the food court. He said, and I quote, "No one goes to the bathroom for that long"." Gerard said to them.
"Have you ever tried to go in one of these dresses? It takes a long time." Kipo said to Gerard. "Yeah, he should be glad we didn't rip these things to pieces trying to get out of these things." Kalena
That's when Gerard grabbed them, and started to drag them back to the Scarlemagne. That's when Wolf, Aqua, Benson, Dave stuck their heads out of the hole. And while Kipo and Kalena gave them a confident wink, everyone else gave them a flat "you two can't be serious".
Las Vasta Sewer
In the sewer, Wolf, Aqua, Benson, and Dave were practicing what they were going to say to Emilia. "Again." Benson said to everyone. "Hi, Emilia. Good to see you." Wolf said, with a very mean voice.
"You still sound like you want to kill her." Benson said to Wolf. "Hi, Emilia! You want to kill my best friends, and I'm OK with that." Wolf said, forcing herself to sound normal. "Hm, better." Benson said to Wolf.
"Look, Wolfie, all you gotta do is play nice until we get Mandu and Cloak then use this baby to blow up the tunnel in the morning so she can't follow us to Scarlemagne's palace! You can do it. And if you don't we are doomed!" Dave said to Wolf, while holding the nectar bomb.
"If we do that, then what do we give to Emilia?" Wolf asked Aqua. "That's why I swiped this perfume bottle." Benson said to Wolf, pulling out a bottle from his bag. "When did you even do that?" Aqua asked Benson.
"But, that looks just like this nectar bomb." Dave said to Aqua. "We know, Dave. That's the point." Benson said to Dave, giving Dave the bottle, and taking the nectar bomb. "Come on. And, again." Benson said to everyone, as they started to walk, making Wolf groan. "Why doesn't Aqua have to practice this?" Wolf asked Benson.
"Because, while she hates Emilia more than you, she at least knows how to sound normal." Benson said to Wolf. "It's from years of practice." Aqua said to everyone. "Now back to practice." Benson said to Wolf, making Wolf groan again.
Emilia's HQ
Some time later, everyone was back at the base, and standing before Emilia, with Emilia facing away. "Hi, Emilia. How's it going?" Wolf asked Emilia, sounding normal, with Aqua keeping her hood up.
"Look who I found pretending to be Kipo and Kalena." Emilia said to everyone, holding Mandu and Cloak to them. Everyone had a shocked look on their face, as Mandu squealed.
"Where are they?!" Emilia asked everyone. "They're gone?" Benson said to Emilia. "She was… she was right here." Dave said to Emilia. "They must have run off after you heartlessly asked them to hurt their mother." Aqua said to Emilia, with her forcing her voice to sound deeper.
"Do you really expect me to believe you don't know where she is?" Emilia asked everyone. "I don't care what you believe. It's your fault she's gone." Benson said to Emilia.
"My fault?" Emilia asked Benson. "You told them they had to fight the Mega Monkey. Do you know how scary that is?" Benson asked Emilia. "Not to mention, Kipo barely knows how to handle her new form, and Kalena still hasn't turned Mega. they're not ready for that fight, and you were going to make them have that fight tomorrow." Aqua said to Emilia, with her forcing her voice to sound deeper.
"Poor Kipo and Kalena! Carrying the weight of the world on her 13-year-old shoulders. No wonder they ran off." Dave said, before Wolf pointed her stick at Emilia. "If anything happens to my best friends-" Wolf said to Emilia, trying to threaten her, but Emilia didn't care.
"We're leaving. First thing in the morning, with or without her. I will not abandon all those humans." Emilia said to Wolf, making Wolf's stick away from her. "More like you want bodies for your fight of hate." Aqua said to Emilia, with her forcing her voice to sound deeper.
"That's not what I want." Emilia said to Aqua. "Now, give me the nectar bomb." Emilia asked Dave. "Oh, right, the bomb." Dave said, before he gave the bottle to Emilia. Emilia then gave Dave a grossed look, before walking away. Mandu then squealed. "It's fine, Mandu. It wasn't your fault… probably." Dave said to Mandu.
Emilia then walked up to Greta and Zane. "They're back, but Kipo and Kalena are gone. Something's up." Emilia said to them. "Do you think that Aqua girl convinced them that we're using them and planning on killing them when we're done?" Greta asked Emilia.
"Unclear but maybe. But saying that out loud doesn't help, Greta." Emilia said to Greta, before groaning. "We might have to go back to our original plan." Emilia said to everyone. "One of us has to use the sonic emitter on the Mega Monkey." Zane said to Emilia.
"As long as we have her friends, we can get Kipo and Kalena back." Emilia said to everyone. "But can we, that Aqua girl is ready to attack the second we try anything, and the beasts with them are capable of crazy things." Zane said to Emilia. "So long as we grab one of the kids first, they won't be a problem." Emilia said to Zane.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back at Scarlemagne's Palace. Kipo, Kalena, Javin, and Scarlemagne were playing a board game, with their Pokemon watching them. "A valiant effort, Kipo, and Kalena, but you two are too late. I will become Corn Don King!" Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena, as he moved a candle.
"Uh-uh-uh, not so fast. While you were sacrificing your army to burn my corn fields, I snuck into your farm. And started a revolt with farmers. SO, Actually, I win!" Kipo said to Scarlemagne, moving her piece.
"But I used my power as Scarlemagne's knight to force our guards to stuff out your little revolt." Javin said, as he moved his piece. "But while you're wasting your troops on your own people, I lead our army into battle, and lay siege to your capital, claiming it in the name of my alpha." Kalena said, as he moved her pieces all to Scarlemagne's side of the board.
"That means I'm the winner." Kipo said to everyone, before forcing a maniacal laugh. "I'm the winner, I'm the winner." Kipo said, taking the crown, and trying to put it on, only to gain a growl from Scarlemagne.
Kipo then put the crown down. "I like this game. The strategy, the manipulation, the use of force." Scarlemagne said to everyone, as he put the crown on Kipo and laughed a little. "What made you think of it?" Scarlemagne asked Kipo.
"Oh, um, just wanted to blow off some steam. You seem so stressed, pacing around and yelling at Gerard." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Yeah, you yelled at him so much he passed out." Kalena said to Scarlemagne, pointing to Gerard in a tree branch above them.
"Oh, that reminds me. Gerard!" Scarlemagne said to Gerard, yelling, making Gerard fall out of the tree. "The mute gangs will be arriving first thing in the morning. Is everything ready for them?" Scarlemagne asked Gerard.
"Yes, sir, Scarlemagne, sir!" Gerard said to Scarlemagne, saluting. "Excellent. And if I catch you yawning at my coronation, I will drop you from the sky!" Scarlemagne said to Gerard, with a threatening tune in his voice.
"Now, get some rest." Scarlemagne said to Gerard, letting Gerard leave. "Have you ever maybe thought about not doing that?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne. "Torturing Gerard?" Scarlemagne asked Kipo, before laughing a little. "No, I enjoy it very much." Scarlemagne said to Kipo. "Plus Gerard is kinda lazy, unless you threaten him. He doesn't do his work." Javin said to Kipo.
"No, I mean the whole coronation thing. What if you just united everyone over for a party? And let all the humans go." Kipo said to Scarlemagne, taking off the crown. "You're joking, right? What is power without someone to rule? Besides, this is what I've wanted my whole life." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, taking the crown. Kipo and Kalena scoffed at this.
"Really? Your whole life? I doubt this is what Hugo wanted." Kipo said to Scarlemagen. "Yeah, I thought you wanted to host elegant parties with all of us living in a palace." Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
This caused Scarlemagne to slam his hand into the table. "All he wanted was a hug and his stupid star and sun blankets. When I'm crowned emperor, that pathetic wretch Hugo dies." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena, before he stood up and left.
"Besides, there will be a show before the coronation. I know Emilia and Dawn can't resist all of us gathered in one spot. So when they come, we will catch them and all the humans will watch, as I rip out their hearts." Javin said Kipo and Kalena, before leaving with Maira and Jester.
"Well that went well." Kalena said to Kipo. "We've been at this all night. What else can we do?" Kipo asked Kalena. "Maybe remind him of who he used to be with something he likes. But we don't really know what he liked when he was Hugo." Kalena said to Kipo. "He likes hugs and star and sun blankets." Kipo said to Kalena, before getting an idea.
A few minutes later, as the sun started to rise, Kipo and Kalena ripped the cage bars to Lio shop cell. "Come on." Kipo whispered to Lio. "How did game night go? Did you find out what you needed to fight Scarlemagne?" Lio asked Kipo and Kalena, earning a slap on the back on the head from Kalena.
"We're trying to avoid the fight." Kalena said to Lio. That sounds strange coming out of my mouth." Kalena said, thinking out loud. "Yeah, I figured out a way we won't have to." Kipo whispered to Lio. "What?!" Lio asked Kipo and Kalena.
But that's when they heard footsteps, and moved to the wall. Luckily it was just Gerard, and he didn't see anything. "Phew." Kipo said, once Gerard passed them. "Hugo's still in there, and I know how to get through to him. I just need your help making him… a present." Kipo said to Lio.
"A present?! How will that… What will that… um, what?" Lio asked Kipo. "Just trust her. Kipo's ideas are wild, but they generally worked out." Kalena said to Lio. "You'll see. We can fix all of this, once we get through to Hugo." Kipo said to Lio.
"Hugo's gone. And a homemade gift isn't going to convince that lunatic tyrant to suddenly be nice!" Lio said to Kipo. This made a sad look appear on Kipo's face, and an angry face appeared on Kalena's face.
"Wow, no wonder Hugo turned out the way he did. When things get hard you want to run away, and now that you finally have a backbone, you want us to hurt our brother." Kalena said to Lio. "Come on Kipo, let's get to work. Obviously he's going to be of no help." Kalena said to Kipo, as Kalena led Kipo away. Lio said nothing, and went after them.
Emilia's HQ
Meanwhile at Emilia's HQ, Emilia and her forces got ready to leave. "All right Alpha team, you're heading in first. B Team goes in once you've secured the perimeter. Strike team goes in last." Emilia said to everyone.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Benson said to everyone, moving to everyone, a stack of pancakes in hand. "Who wants a hot breakfast?" Benson asked everyone. "Whoa, breakfast can be hot?" Greta asked everyone, making Emilia sigh.
"We don't have time. Alpha team leaves in five minutes." Emilia said to everyone, with her the only one not interested in the pancakes. "That's plenty of time." Benson said to Emilia.
"We'll eat fast. We won't even waste the time saying "mmm," no matter how good it is." Zane said to Emilia, looking at the pancakes. Emilia sighed. "You have four minutes." Emilia.
Soon everyone sat at a table. "Hey, everyone! There's food out here!" Benson said to everyone, as Emilia's forces started to eat. "It's hot and different! It's called a hot breakfast!" Greta said to everyone.
That's when Benson gave a thumbs up to Dave, Wolf, and Groove, making them bring out more pancakes, with Mandu and Star watching, and Aqua, and Cloak nowhere to be seen.
As Wolf walked towards everyone, Mandu got in front of her path, and made Wolf trip on Mandu. "Mandu, not helping." Wolf said to Mandu. Mandu squealed sorry.
Then as Wolf, Dave, and Groove served everyone, Aqua and Cloak walked up to everyone. Then Wolf, Dave, and Groove finished serving Emilia's forces, then Benson moved towards Aqua and Cloak, with Star joining them, leaving Mandu out of the conversation.
"It worked, everybody's here." Benson whispered to everyone. "Aw, yeah. We got this. The Brunch Bunch!" Dave said to everyone. "Who?" Wolf asked Dave. "The four of us and our Pokemon. I'm calling us that, now." Dave said to Wolf.
This made Mandu squeal and snorted in loneliness. "All right, Wolf, you ready for phase two?" Dave asked Wolf. "You're literally the only person that can do phase two without dying." Wolf said to Dave. "Right, right." Dave said, as Benson secretly passed Dave the nectar bomb.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back at Scarlemagne's Palace. Kipo and Kalena, where working a blanket. With the blanket being Kalena's baby blanket that she had stuffed in her back, but it was ripped up a little, so Kalena and Kipo worked on stitching it back together with a blue piece of fabric, with Kipo adding yellow glitter stars to the new blue parts of the blankets. And keeping an eye out was Lio, Virgo, and Kommo-o.
"I really don't think glitter and a patch job will solve this problem." Lio said to Kipo and Kalena. "I really don't think you should just give on someone you helped raise." Kipo said to Lio. "I've seen what he's become. He's hurt everyone we know and care about, including your mother!" Lio said to them, making them stop working.
"I know, but can you just trust us? Maybe if you weren't so quick to assume he's a lost cause, we wouldn't be here." Kipo said to Lio. "And let's not forget who hurt him first, was it you and mom. First with forcing him to hide in a place that would hurt him because you two were scared to have us on the surface. Then you guys just let him rot in a box while letting him get experimented on by Emilia. Then after mom trashed the burrow and you met up with him, you didn't like what you saw in him and abandoned him in a heartbeat." Kalena said to Lio.
This made Lio go quiet, this made Kipo and Kalena feel bad. "Dad, we didn't… I'm sorry." Kipo said to Lio. "I'm sorry too." Kalena said to Lio. "No, you two are right." Lio said to them, making them gasp. "Let's try this your way." Lio said to Kipo and Kalena. This caused Kipo and Kalena to hug Lio. Then once they were done hugging, they started to move.
But that's when they ran into the Mob Frogs, with the leader Mrs Sartori standing on two flying flies, Harris, and Kwat. "Burrow girl and Dragon girl." Mrs Sartori said to Kipo and Kalena.
Emilia's HQ
Meanwhile at Emilia's HQ, as Benson made more pancakes, Mandu tried to help everyone, but everyone ignored her. "Piping hot brekky comin' in!" Benson said to Emilai's forces, as he kept bringing out pancakes, making all of them forget their mission.
Mandu tried to bring them frocks, but she carried the end in her mouth, so the frocks were covered in saliva. "Why is your pig slobbering all over the cutlery?" Zane asked Benson, holding up a frock. "Whoops." Benson said, as he moved to Zane. "Mandu, gross." Benson said to Mandu. "I'll get you a clean one." Benson said to Zane.
This made Mandu squeal and move back in shame. But that's when Mandu ran into Wolf. "Mandu! You're in the way." Wolf said to Mandu. This caused Mandu to move to a conor. "Time to go. No more pancakes, Greta!" Emilia said to everyone, looking at Great, who was still eating a large stack of pancakes. "But there are more pancakes. Do you want some?" Greta asked Emilia.
"They're made with love. And real fake butter spray." Benson said to Emilia, taking off his back pack, and pulling out a spray bottle. But doing this showed Emilia the Project K&K Book in his backpack, and she was way more interested in that than any pancake. "Absolute zero ingredients found in nature." Benson said to Emilia, reading the back of the bottle, not that anyone cared.
That's when everyone heard a giant explosion, and a massive dust cloud covered all of them. "I think the tunnel caved in! We should all go check that out!" Wolf said to everyone, making everyone run into the tunnel.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back at Scarlemagne's Palace, Kipo, Kalena, Virgo, and Kommo-o, get ready for a fight, with Lio on edge, with Kipo stuffing the blanket they made into her dress. "This is for destroying our home!" Mrs Sartori said to them, as Harris whipped out his tongue, and Kwat pulled out a spiky ball and chain.
"Hey, you tried to kidnap us. Don't act like you're the victims. Now because we don't have time for this. We're going to give you the chance to walk away. You're a lot stronger than when you first found us. You have no chance to beat us." Kalena said to The Mob Frogs.
"Nah, get them!" Mrs Sartori said as Harris and Kwat attacked. This made Kipo and Kalena break out their mute arms. Kwat tried to swing the ball and chain at them. But Kommo-o caught the ball. "Kommo-o." Kommo-o did an uppercut punch into Kwat, sending Kwat flying, and making Kwat lose her grip on her ball and chain. Kommo-o then tossed the ball and chain away.
"Poipole." Virgo said, as she fired a light green beam with shapes in it at Mrs Sartori, hitting her flies, sending the flies flying, and knocking her to the floor.
Meanwhile Harris was shooting his tongue at Kipo and Kalena. With Kipo and Kalena dodging, and trying to grab the tongue, but Harris kept pulling his tongue back before they could grab it.
Then the flies got up and tried to charge at everyone. "Poipole." Virgo said, as she fired purple goo at the flies, making the flies feel weak and sick. This caused the flies to crash into the ground unable to get up.
Then Kwat tried to whip her tongue at Kipo and Kalena. But Kommo-o grabbed Kwat's tongue with her right hand before it could reach them. "Kommo-o." Kommo-o said, as her right hand was encased with teal energy. This caused a small burn to form on Kwat's tongue, making her groan in pain. And white her in pain, Kommo-o had no problem pulling her forward and whacking Kwat with her tail, sending Kwat flying towards Mrs Sartori.
That's when Harris fired his tongue at Kipo and Kalena. But this time Kipo caught his tongue. Then Kipo jerked the tongue forward making Harris move to them. That's when Kalena popped out her tail and swatted Harris with it. Then Kipo let go of Harris' tongue, letting Kalena send Harris flying into Kwet and Mrs Sartori.
"Don't just stand there, get them!" Mrs Sartori said to Kwat and Harris. "KOMMO-O/POIPOLE!" Kommo-o and Poipole said as they let out sonic pusles, with Kommo-o's scales rattling.
This caused Mrs Sartori, Kwat, and Harris to cover their ears. "Shut… them… up…" Mrs Sartori said to Kwat and Harris, fighting through the pain in their ears. Kwat and Harris fought through the pain and fired their tongues.
But with Kwat and Harris in pain, it was easy for Kipo and Kalena to grab their tongues. Kipo and Kalena then shared a look, and knew exactly what to do without saying a word.
The two of them started to make Kwat and Harris' tongue twirl like the tongues were ribbons, this caused Kwat and Harris's tongue to start wrapping around them and Mrs Sartori. And after a bit of twirling, they started to run around them, wrapping them even more with the tongues.
And in less than a minute of this, Mrs Sartori, Kwat, and Harris were trapped by their own tongues. "I tried to warn you." Kalena said to Mrs Sartori, as everyone moved to the Mob Frogs. "Whoa! That was incredible!" Lio said to Kipo and Kalena.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Scarlemagne said, as he, Javin, Jester, and Maira jumped down from the upper floor. "Why are you out of your cage?!" Scarlemagne asked Lio, with a very angry voice, and got close to Lio.
"It's not what you think bro." Kalena said to Scarlemagne, as she and Kipo turned back to normal. "I know this looks bad, but I broke our dad out to come talk to you." Kipo said to Scarlemagne, as she and Kalena moved to Scarlemagne.
"Lio, you tell me." Scarlemagne said to Lio, giving Lio a spritz of his perfume. "Hey!" Kipo said. "Is this necessary bro?" Kalena asked Scarlemagne. "And don't hold back the truth." Scarlemagne said to Lio.
"We were coming to see you. I didn't think it was a good idea, but Kipo really believes in you, and Kalena trusts Kipo. And then these frogs attacked us. But they beat them… easily. It wasn't even a fight. My daughters are amazing." Lio said to Scarlemagne.
"Aw, Dad." Kipo said to Lio. "They can do anything. Even show me how wrong I've been." Lio said to everyone. "About what?" Scarlemagne asked Lio. "About how I gave up on you." Lio said to Scarlemagne, surprising Scarlemagne.
"I shouldn't have. I'm sorry it took Kipo and Kalena to point it out." Lio said to Scarlemagne, earning a hug from Kipo and Kalena. "My, my. You're just full of surprises, Kipo and Kalena. Now, come along." Scarlemagne said to Kalena and Kipo, before walking away with Jester.
"Hey! What about us?" Mrs Sartori asked Scarlemagne. "You want me to toss them in a cell for a while?" Javin asked Scarlemagne. "Leave them there, I'll figure out what to do with them later. For now you can watch Lio." Scarlemagne said to Javin, before walking away, with Kipo, Kalena, and their Pokemon following him.
Emilia's HQ
Meanwhile at Emilia's HQ, Emilia's forces ran into the tunnel, and saw it was all blocked. "Oh, no! There was an earthquake, but only right here." Greta said to everyone. "That's not how earthquakes work, Greta!" Zane said to Greta, as Greta looked down.
"Look." Greta said, as she and Zane got a closer look at a pink stain on the ground. "Earth blood." Greta said to Zane. "Huh. That's explosive nectar." Zane said to Greta, as the tunnel got darker. Everyone turned to see Wolf, Benson, Aqua, Dave, and their Pokemon, closing the tunnel door, with Dave burned and the tip of his right antenna still on fire.
"Sorry about this everyone, but we'll always have brunch!" Benson said to everyone, as Dave laughed and they closed the door, surprising everyone. "Quick, Cloak use Acid Spray!" Aqua said to Cloak. "Nihilego." Nihilego said, spraying orange acid at the outline of the door, metaling it. "There, that'll hold them for a while." Aqua said to everyone.
"Guys, mission accomplished!" Wolf said to everyone, as they walked back to the table. "The Brunch Bunch rules." Dave said to everyone. "So long, Dr. Emilia! Benson said to everyone.
That's when they noticed Emilia. "I wouldn't be so sure." Emilia said to everyone, before dropping the bottle on the floor. This surprised everyone. "She broke your perfume!" Dave said to Benson, earning a mean look from Aqua.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back at Scarlemagne's Palace, Scarlemagne lead Kipo, Kalena and their Pokemon to his piano. "What do you two think about this for my grand entrance?" Scarlemagne asked them, as he played his piano.
But after a few keys, Scarlemagne yelled in furnstation. "No. Not regal enough." Scarlemagne said to everyone, as Kipo and Kalena took a set on the sides of Scarlemagne.
"Maybe something more like this?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne, as she played a slow-tempo tune. "Oh… I like that. But it needs a little tremolo." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, before joining in playing the piano. "Kalena join us." Scarlemagne said to Kalena. "I don't know how to play the piano." Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
"It's easy, I'll show you." Scarlemagne said to Kalena, and he took her hands and started to help her play a few keys. After a couple seconds, Kalena started to play on her own. Once that was done, Scarlemagne started to play again. All of them smiled, as they all played the piano together.
They played for a little bit, enjoying their time together. And when they were done, they all laughed, with their Pokemon smiling at them.
"You know if you were like this with everyone, instead of forcing them to follow you, they might choose to." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Yeah, instead of trying to rule by fear, maybe you could rule by offering them a better life." Kalena said to Scarlemagne, making Scarlemagne scoff.
"No one wants to be ruled. Why would they choose that?" Scarlemagne asked them. "Because they like you." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "And they would respect you." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. "That would never happen." Scarlemagne said to them.
"It already did… with us." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "Yeah, bro. Even if you got a lot of bite, it's love and respect that makes someone a king." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. That's when Kipo pulled out the blanket. "Here. We made you something." Kipo said to Scarlemagne, pulling out the blanket.
"Is that?" Scarlemagne asked, looking at the blanket with a surprised look on his face. "Your sun blanket, yes. It was the only thing I had of my past, and I did my best to keep it. After all, I felt warm and safe with it. I think a part of me knew my big brother was watching out for me." Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
"I know it's a little ripped up, and that we don't have your star blanket, but we thought… Well, we wanted to say we're sorry for everything that happened and for my part in hurting you." Kipo said to Scarlemagne, as Scarlemagne took the blanket with a sad look on his face. "Yeah, if it was up to us, you would have been a part of our lives before all this." Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
"You two weren't the ones who rejected me." Scarlemagne said to Kipo and Kalena, as he folded the blanket. Then Kipo and Kalena stood up. "Please, just promise me you'll think about what I said? Give people a chance to like you." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "And if you need a show before you can start your coronation. Sign me up for the fight." Kalena said to Scarlemagne, surprising Scarlemagne and Kipo.
"Kalena, we're trying not to fight here." Kipo said to Kalena. "This isn't a fight out of anger or hate, this is a fight that I want to do, and I have the feeling he wants it as well. Plus me and Javin have a score to settle, and I need to tell him a few things, and I think the only way I can reach him is through our fist." Kalena said to Kipo. "Very well. You and Javin can have your fight." Scarlemagne said to Kalena.
"Thanks bro." Kalena said to Scarlemagne, before she, Kipo, and their Pokemon walked away. Scarlemagne then put the blanket on the piano, and started to practice again.
Emilia's HQ
Meanwhile at Emilia's HQ, Emilia confronted everyone. "Now then I would advise you kids to surrender." Emilia said to everyone. "Yeah. No. You may think you're a big bad hero of humanity, but you're not. You're just a selfish mean old lady." Aqua said to Emilia, sounding normal, earning an odd look from Emilia.
"Who are you?" Emilia asked Aqua. "You really don't know who I am. Well that's no surprise, it's not like you ever cared about me…" Aqua said to Emilia, taking off her hood, letting Emilia see her face. "Aunt Emilia." Aqua said to Emilia, surprising Emilia.
"Dawn! Impossible. You're dead!" Emilia said to Aqua. "I'm Aqua now. The Dawn you knew died on that ship. I was saved by Cloak." Aqua said to Emilia. "To think you would sink so low as to betray us again and work with mutes." Emilia said to Aqua.
"You betrayed me first. You raised me to be a monster, striping my life of any kind of fun. And when I finally make something for you, you force me to turn it into a weapon." Aqua said to Emilia. "I did all of that for you Dawn. I had to make you ruthless if you were to take back the surface." Emilia said to Aqua. "And I will. Form the monster that is you." Aqua said to Emilia, making Emilia sigh.
"I see you still going through your teenage rebellion. I had hope that if you survived, and got your head on straight you would come back. And be the one that takes back the surface like your grandfather wanted you to be. But I see you've been twisted by the Mutes, and there's no saving you." Emilia said to Aqua, as she pulled out her crossbow.
"Kartana." Star said, as he threw leaves at Emilia's crossbow, tuning into tiny scraps. Startled by this, Emilia looked around, and noticed a metal pipe nearby, and picked that up. "Nihilego." Cloak said, as she sprained orange acid at the pipe, melting the pipe into nothing but a metal puddle.
"See what I mean Emilia. You might be all big and tuff with goons at your side, but without them, and our Pokemon at our side, you're next to nothing." Aqua said to Emilia. "Okay, we're wasting enough time here. Groove, stop her with Electroweb." Benson said to everyone.
"Xurkitree." Xurkitree said, as he fired a spider web made out of electricity at Emilia. Emilia rolled back, dodging the webbing. Emilia then turned her head to look at the sonic emitter. Emilia then rushed it. "Not so fast." Aqua said to Emilia, as she pulled out a crossbow, with an arrow that had a thick but fragile shaft.
Aqua fired the arrow at the wall next to the sonic emitter. Once the arrow hit the wall, the shaft cracked, and pink nectar leaked out of it, before causing an explosion. The explosion destroyed the sonic emitter, and knocked Emilia back.
"What the? How did you do that?!" Emilia asked Aqua. "After the way you raised me. Did you really think I won't take a nectar bomb for myself." Aqua said as she pulled out an empty nectar bomb, before dropping it to the floor, shattering it.
"But where's the nectar?" Dave asked Aqua. "Let me introduce my latest invention, nectar arrows. They don't pack quite the punch of a nectar bomb, but they still pack a punch. Wouldn't you agree, Emilia?!" Aqua said to everyone, and asked Emilia, as she pulled out a whole jar full of nectar arrows, and loaded one into her crossbow, and fired it at Emilia.
Emilia got up and ran, avoiding the arrow and explosion. "What's wrong Emilia? Isn't this what you wanted? Me, to be a mad woman that destroys everything?!" Aqua asked Emilia, her voice getting angry, as she chased Emilia, shooting arrows at Emilia. But Emilia dodged the arrows, making the arrows hit many of the stuff in the room, destroying it.
"To be a savage that would slaughter all the Mutes for the humans?!" Aqua asked Emilia, as she kept shooting her arrows at Emilia, hitting the walls, and making large cracks form all over the building.
"You'd like it if I brought down the sky itself, if it meant the end of the mutes!" Aqua said to Emilia, as she fired a few arrows at the ceiling, making part of the ceiling break from the explosions, and making rubble fall all around Emilia, trapping her.
"GO AHEAD AND SAY IT! SAY HOW PROUD YOU ARE OF ME! TELL ME THAT I'M EVERYTHING YOU WANTED ME TO BE!" Aqua yelled at Emilia, her voice a mixture of hate and frustration.
Benson, Wolf, Dave, and their Pokemon were taken aback by Aqua's actions, for they never have seen Aqua act like this, and it scared them a little, even Wolf was a little scared by this.
"I'm not proud of you. The second you start showing some real progress towards our cause, you turn traitor. You've been nothing more than a waste of time and resources." Emilia said to Aqua, with not a single hint of care or compassion in her voice.
This made tear steam of Aqua's eyes, before Aqua let out a loud wail of sadness and rage. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Aqua yelled to Emilia, as she grabbed a handful of arrows, and planned to put them all into the crossbow.
That's when Benson, Wolf, Grove, and Cloak grabbed Aqua, warping their arms around Aqua, making it so she could move. "LET GO OF ME! SHE HAS TO DIE!" Aqua said to everyone, as she tried to force everyone off her.
While struggling to get out of her friend's grip, she dropped one of the arrows, and it landed on the ground, but it didn't break, so no one noticed.
"This isn't what Kipo wants." Benson said to Aqua. "What about what I want? Everything I did and know is what Emilia wanted. And if I wanted anything else, she took it away from me! She has to pay! She has to die!" Aqua said to Benson, putting more force into trying to get everyone off her.
"You have us now. She can't take that away from you. I know she's hurt you, but we're here for you, and we'll help make up for all the joy you've missed out on." Wolf said to Aqua, surprising Aqua, and making her stop moving.
"You're literally the last person I expected to hear that form." Aqua said to Wolf. "I'm trying to say what Kipo would say if she was here." Wolf said to Aqua. "That makes much more sense." Aqua said to Wolf.
"Look Aqua, she's already taken so much from you. Don't make her turn you into the killer you always think you are." Benson said to Aqua. "But I am a killer! And it's all thanks to her!" Aqua said to everyone, as she got back to forcing everyone off her.
"No you're not. Your Aqua. You helped bring peace to Ratland when Groove's kind showed up. You always make sure Dave and I are healthy. You always are the voice of reason for us. You're our friend, and a very kind one at that. And the last thing you are is a killer." Besnon said to Aqua.
This calmed Aqua down. That's when Emilia noticed a crossbow near her, and picked it up before anyone noticed.
"Yeah, minus your monkey thing. You're a pretty alright girl. One that I'm glad I know." Daves said to Aqua. "Thanks guys. But you should really let go of me, and we should deal with Emilia." Aqua said to everyone. "Relax, we got her." Wolf said to Aqua.
That's when a normal arrow came flying at them, missing them, but hitting the stinger on the Wolf stick suddenly shattered into pieces. "NO!" Wolf yelled, as the pieces of the stinger were scattered to the side of them. All of them looked to see Emilia with a loaded crossbow in her hands.
"Okay enough of this childish nonsense. All of you are going in the box. And if you try anything, I'll hit those nectar arrows and blow you all up" Emilia said to everyone. That's when Aqua heard some footsteps, and noticed Mandu to their side. Then Aqua noticed Mandu used her mouth to pick up the point of the singer, and slowly walked to Emilia.
Realizing what Mandu was planning, Aqua realized she had to keep Emilia's eyes on them. "Do you really think we're going to do what you say? You're still not that big of a threat to us." Aqua said to Emilia. "I can handle a few simple minded children." Emilia said to Aqua.
"Except, this "simple minded child" had you running around your base for your life, and has outsmarted you two other times before today." Aqua said to Emilia, surprising Emilia a little. "Two times?" Emilia asked Aqua.
"The one you probably know about is when I destroyed your device, but that was the second time. The first time was when I tricked all of you that I wanted to kill the Cheetah Boxers. That was a lie, I got those Cheetah Boxers you guys found to safety." Aqua said to Emilia, making an angry look appear on Emilia's face.
"So you've been a problem child since then. Well then I won't let you get the best of me again." Emilia said to Aqua. "I would wait a bit before saying that." Aqua said to Emilia. "And why is that?" Emilia asked Aqua.
That's when Mandu reached Emilia, and jabbed the singer into Emilia's leg, making Emilia scream a little. Emilia dropped her crossbow and fell to her knees, that's when Emilia noticed Mandu.
"That's why. Because I know if I insult that pride of yours, your focus would be completely on me." Aqua said to Emilia, as everyone let go of her.
"I will… not.. Lose to a mute." Emilia said, struggling to stay awake, as Aqua walked up to Emilia, putting the nectar arrows away. "You just did." Aqua said to Emilia, before kicking her in the face, giving Emilia a black eye and knocking Emilia out. "That felt extremely satisfying." Aqua said to everyone, before looking down and noticing Mandu.
"Who's the best pig ever?" Aqua said to Mandu, giving Mandu some pets. "Mandu, that was amazing." Wolf said to Mandu, as everyone moved to them, and she picked up Mandu.
"I'd kiss you if I didn't see you eating out of the garbage earlier." Dave said to Mandu. "The eight of us make a pretty killer team!" Benson said to everyone, as he picked up the metal rod that was Wolf stick. "I hereby dub thee, Baroness of the Brunch Bunch." Dave said to Mandu, as Benson moved the metal rod over Mandu, like he was knighting Mandu.
That's when Wolf picked up the stinger Mandu used on Emilia. "Ah, Wolf, I'm sorry." Benson said to Wolf, as he dropped the metal rod. "It's fine. We gotta go. The coronation's about to start." Wolf said to everyone, before dropping the singer, and everyone started to run. And while Wolf did look back at the remains of her stick and cried a little, she knew Kipo and Kalena needed them, and ran after the others, with Aqua leaving that one arrow she dropped behind.
Scarlemagne's Palace
Back at Scarlemagne's Palace, all the mutes and a few Ultra Beasts were gathered in a massive arena. The arena was full of every mute they ran into on their adventures in the bleachers, in the middle of the arena was a pit making everyone sitting high up, there was one massive exit, next to the exit was two moats with six pedestals in it, and a statue that was covered by a white sheet, above the exit was a massive space, with a few chairs in it and a symbol of a crown over it, meaning it was the kings box, threw was a box in the upper back of the arena with Puck and Peofa locked inside it, in the middle of it all was a big tan wrestling ring that covered most of the arena's ground floor, in the ring was Javin and Maria, waiting for their fight, and the humans were heard into a group between the exit and ring
That's when Kipo, Kalena, and their Pokemon walked into the area, with Kipo and Virgo in the king's booth, and Kalena and Kommo-o walking into the arena walking past the humans, with Kalena wearing her normal outfit.
"Wait a minute. Is that the burrow and dragon girl?" A Newton Wolf asked, as everyone noticed them walk into the arena. "Imagine my surprise when Scarlemagne told me you wanted this fight. I was hoping to take my revenge. But you're a close second." Javin said to Kalena, as Kalena and Kommo-o walked up into the ring. Once she was in the ring, she and Kommo-o stood before Javin and Maira
"I know what happened to you. And you were right, Aqua is Dawn." Kalena said to Javin, making Javin give Kalena a mean look. "If you know what happened. Then hand her over." Javin said to Kalena.
"I can not. Aqua is under my care. And if you wish to harm her, then I have no choice but to smash that hate of yours into pieces." Kalena said to Javin, cracking her knuckles. "You'll have to wait for the boss to show up first." Javin said to Kalena.
"Do you think Scarlemagne's being fashionably late, or do you think we got through to him?" Kipo asked Lio, with Lio still under mind control. "I know you can't say anything, and… and that's troubling, but, I've decided to feel good about this." Kipo said, as everyone heard a piano. "Our song. Maybe I did get through to him!" Kipo said, with a big smile on her face.
But that's when the area started to rumble. That's when everyone noticed Song walking to them, with Scarlemagne in her hand, with Jester standing on the piano, throwing balls into the air, making firework explosions, all the while Scarlemagne was laughing like a maniac.
"Or not." Kipo said, as the humans and mutes watch Scarlemagne show up with a surprise look on their faces. Then Scarlemagne stopped playing the piano, and Jester stopped throwing balls. "I can't hear you!" Scarlemagne said to everyone, before making Song roar at everyone. This made everyone cheer, as Song moved Scarlemagne and Jester to the king's booth.
"My mute brothers and sisters, welcome! Today marks the beginning of a new age. A golden age, ruled by yours truly." Scarlemagne said to everyone, making them all cheer. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Now, before you all bow to me, it has been brought to my attention that perhaps I should give you a choice." Scarlemagne said to everyone, making Kipo gasp, thinking she and Kalena got threw to him.
But that's when Scarlemagne flipped the leaver in the booth. This caused a door in the tree to open, and molten gold came pouring out of it. "You can swear loyalty to me, and live in my golden city, or you can choose to oppose me, and become part of the decor." Scarlemagne said to everyone, as the molten gold flowed down and into the small moats with the six pedestals.
That's when a flamingo flew over the moat and swiped the sheet away, revealing it to be Mrs Sartori, Harris, and Kwat all of them killed, after getting covered in molten gold, and forever to be decorative statues.
"Are those the actual Mod Frogs?!" a female mute asked, before the mutes started to panic. "Choose wisely." Scarlemagne said to everyone, before laughing.
The sight of the Mod Frogs, made, Kipo, Kalena, Javin, and their pokemon gasp in shock.
Very scared about suffering the same fate as the Mod Frogs, the Mutes started to chat Scarlemagne's name.
"Do you like your gift?" Scarlemagne asked Kipo. "Uh, I… I didn't ask for this." Kipo said to Scarlemagne, with a disguised look on her face. "You didn't have to. You and Kalena gave me a gift, so I gave you one. They'll never bother you again." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, as Kipo started to breath heavily, on the edge of a complete freak out.
"You look upset. But I did what you asked. I'm giving them a choice." Scarlemagne said to Kipo. "What kind of choice is that?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne, her voice sounded like her heart was breaking.
"Let me try again. This time, I'll give you the choice. I'll let everyone go. Only those who want to follow me will stay. I will give up everything I've worked for, for you." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, turning away from Kipo, making Kipo feel happy.
"But I need to know you're willing to give something up for me." Scarlemagne said to Kipo. "OK, anything." Kipo said to Scarlemagne, with a worry tune in his voice. "Gild your father." Scarlemagne said to Kipo. "What?!" Kipo asked, completely shocked by Scarlemagne's request.
"No, I won't hurt my dad." Kipo said to Scarlemagne. "I see. So you don't choose me either." Scarlemagne said to Kipo. "Let's see if Kalena is different then you two." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, before walking to the edge of the booth.
"Kalena! What do you think of my present to you?" Scarlemagne asked Kalena, pointing to Mob frogs. Kalena gave the Mob Frogs a look of rage. "It's horrifying. They may have been a pain, but no living creature should go out like that." Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
"In that case Kalena, I'll give you the choice Kipo rejected. I'll let everyone go. Only those who want to follow me will stay. I will give up everything I've worked for, for you. But I need to know you're willing to give something up for me." Scarlemagne said to Kalena.
Kalena gave Scarlemagne a mean look. "Then if Kipo rejected the request, then you asked for something crazy." Kalena said to Scarlemagne. "It's nothing crazy. I just want you to choose me over Lio, and to prove it. I want you to gild Lio." Scarlemagne said to Kalena.
This caused Kalena and Javin's eyes to widen. "You can't be serious?!" Kalena asked Scarlemagne. "I am. Gild Lio and everyone can go free." Scarlemagne said to Kalena. Kalena could feel the eyes of everyone in the arena, but she didn't care. "No! I won't gild my father, and you can't make me!" Kalean said to Scarlemagne, earning a mean look from Scarlemagne.
"So you're rejecting me as well." Scarlemagne said to Kalena. "Boss, your request is madness. Maybe they have a point, this whole king thing is making you go crazy. We've done a lot of bad things so you can get that crown. Maybe we should just stop this thing now, before things get much more out of hand." Javin said to Scarlemagne.
"So you rejected me to Javin." Scarlemagne said to Javin. "Boss, I'm not rejecting you. It's just all this has gotten out of…" Javin said to Scarlemagne, but was interrupted by Scarlemagne.
"ENOUGH!" Scarlemagne yelled, making everyone go silent. "I promised these mutes a fight. And now I'm going to give it to them. And to add to the pressure. The losers will be gilded!" Scarlemagne said to everyone, making Kalena, Javin, and their Pokemon eyes widen.
"NO!" Kipo yelled. "You can't be serious?!" Kalena asked Scarlemagne. "Are you really going to gild one of us and our partners after this, simply because we think this is crazy?!" Javin asked Scarlemagne.
"You all reject me and are now disobeying me. So yes I will gild the losers! Now fight for our amusement, and fight like your lives depend on it!" Scarlemagne said to Kalena and Javin before laughing like a mad man.
