Once Sasuke and Naruto got far enough from eachother, they changed their paths to meet at the clearing hat they were at previously, expecting to see Lu. Once they got there, they both saw that Lu was covered in mud and water, but he wasn't exactly harmed. The river nearby and the scroll explained the sight for the two boys and they just sat down, watching Lu patiently.
"I know you two are here, even if I can't see you, ya know," Lu commented as he failed to complete the jutsu again.
"I mean we weren't exactly hiding," Sasuke remarked, "Just watching. What are you trying to learn anyway?" the noirette inquired, not exactly expecting an answer but was just asking because he was interested by the sight. As far as he knew, Lu didn't know any nature transformation justu, so this couldv'e been his first attempt, which made it all the more important.
"Well… the jutsu is called "Bubble Style : Creation," and the jutsu essentially creates a water bubble that can be manipulated after learning the main jutsu. It also seems to need both lightning and water nature, meaning it's a kekkei genkai. Also, it doesn't exactly require many handsigns as it's a C-rank jutsu," he explained briefly.
"Wait, Lu… you have a kekkei genkai? Like Sasuke?" Naruto jumped up in excitement.
"Yes, but we're not the only two, you do too," Lu responded, causing Naruto to get even more excited.
"Well… TELL ME! WHAT IS IT? IS IT SOMETHING COOL LIKE THE SENJU?" Naruto screamed in excitement, while also dancing around Lu as he attempted to focus on the jutsu he was learning.
"Ironically, yes," Lu confirmed, "But… if you want me to tell you, you need to calm down and not tell anyone about this," he sternly demanded. After he watched Naruto's energy fade away and saw a change in his posture he began to speak. "The Uzamaki clan is a clan that used to live in the Land Of Whirlpools. They were allies to the leaf, but sadly got nearly erridicated in the second great ninja war, the one our hokage participated in during his youth. Aside from that, they were descendants of Asura Otsutsuki, the son of Hagaromo Otsutsuki, which is…"
"Uh, Lu? What are you talking about?" Naruto interrupted. "I was following up until the Otususki stuff, what are they?" he asked.
"Well if you'd let me finish, you would've gotten your answer by now. There isn't much information on them, but Hagaromo Otsutsuki is usually known as the "Sage of Six Paths" or the creator of everything," he explained. This explanation actually clicked with Naruto. It also clicked with Sasuke, who was listening silently. " According to the books and scrolls in the library, the two sons of the sage, Asura and Indra actually started the Uzumaki, Senju, Hyuga, and Uchiha clans, with the last two being descendants of Indra. The closest of all clans to the brothers are among the Uzamaki and Uchiha clans," Lu concluded, ending his history lesson.
"Wait, Lu, what was my clan known for?" Naruto asked after taking in the information bomb Lu had dropped on both him and Sasuke.
"Oh yeah… sorry for not mentioning it. The Uzamaki clan was known for their fuinjutsu, their extreme chakra reserves, which exceeded even the Senju, and their clan jutsu, adatmantine chains. These chains were in each member of the Uzamaki clan, and they were extremely strong chakra chains that could even pin down the bijuu, which aided in sealing them," Lu summarized again, this time, he made sure that he didn't leave anything he knew about out.
"So, Lu, where does this leave you?" Sasuke inquired as he walked out of the shade of the tree he was under.
"I'm… not certain… I did some research on my clan but I can't even find a name for it. The justu is definitely a kekkei genkai, but aside from my two dead parents, I have no clue of the name," he answered truthfully,"I don't know if my reaction gave it away when we were fighting Mizuki, but Orochimaru is the cause of that. He took my parents to experiment on them, but for some odd reason, he failed at extracting our kekkei genkai, even all of his knowledge in doing so. I don't think the answers I'm looking for are in the Leaf Village, but I don't know how I can just waltz into Kumogakure to find out. For now, I'm just going to try to manifest the jutsu of my people so I can get strong enough to achieve my goal," he concldued, returning to his training.
"In the meantime, Sasuke, maybe we should train… I don't think sparring is the right thing right now, but I do think some ninjutsu training should help me," Naruto offered, but he wasn't really expecting the Uchiha to agree to his suggestion.
"Sure, but maybe after we get some missions completed as a team, in the meantime we should go home to get some rest or only stick to personal training.I'm sure it can wait until then, besides, we haven't even seen what sensei is capable of and we need to be ready for tomorrow," Sasuke pointed out, leaving the clearing.
"Hmph. Oh well," the blonde began, "hey, Lu, is it fine if I watch while I send some clones to the-" Naruto paused dramatically as he inched closer to Lu's ear,"library?" he whispered, making sure no one but Lu heard what he'd just said, aside from himself of course. Lu nodded silently, which led to 7 clones of Naruto popping into existence and 5 of those clones going to the library with the objective of learning about fuinjutsu and the Uzamaki clan. In the meantime, Lu was getting closer to successfully completing the bubble style: creation jutsu. Each attempt was getting better than the last, but Lu struggled with actually maintaining the bubble as it required better chakra control.
"Hmm… I might need to put this jutsu aside for later and do some chakra control training," Lu grumbled, upset at his many failures throughout the past hour.
"I don't think that's a bad idea, Lu, I could use it too," Naruto admitted, "It's not like this massive pool of chakra I have available is the easiest to manipulate, ya know," he added, which Lu just nodded in agreement. This led to both Lu and Naruto leaving the clearing, and searching for an instructor to help them. It didn't take long until they came across a violet-haired woman, holding two dango sticks, walking from the shopping district. The pair noticed a headband on her head and decided to go into the rooftops to tail her.
'I don't think they know I can sense them,' Anko thought as she noticed two chakra signatures, both being above low-chunin. She continued walking, but slightly altered her path to lead to a clearing, which the boys noticed, however didn't mind.
"Naruto, once we're in the clearing, we can jump down a safe distance from her, then ask if she can help us with our chakra control issue," Lu explained quietly as they tailed her. A couple of minutes passed and they were already back in the clearing they'd left to find an instructor. The boys dropped down, unarmed, ready to ask for her aid, until she suddenly vanished.
"What..?" Naruto, dazed by her dissapearance asked aloud.
"What do you have to say? Little boy?," Anko said as she held a dull kunai at Naruto's throat from behind him, essentially taking him hostage. In Anko's mind, she was already aware of Naruto and his secret, but held nothing against him as she'd gone through similar treatment, although nowhere near the level she could assume the boy had faced, being the jinjuriki of the Kyuubi, the same beast that had destroyed the village and killed their fourth hokage, Minato Namikaze. What Anko didn't expect, however, was for Naruto to create 5 perfect shadow clones of himself, using them as a diversion, and following up by using the headhunter jutsu to escape.
'The brat's not half bad,' she thought as she quickly got rid of the clones, slicing through them like they were paper.
While distracted with Naruto's escape and his clones, she didn't notice the 5 shuriken flying towards her that she narrowly dodged after hearing them as they got closer to her side. As she was flipping backwards to gain her footing, 20 more shuriken followed, however this time they came from 5 different directions, 4 per direction, causing her to either substitute, go up or down, or take the full barrage of shuriken. The answer she chose shocked Naruto and Lu when they saw the shuriken were neutralized by being deflected by Anko instead. After the shuriken were deflected, Anko rapidly did hand-signs for a ninjutsu that emulated the appearance of a fireball, however made of slimy venom, called 'Snake-Style: Deterioration,' which melted the next barrage of shuriken after she'd jumped into the air and fired the jutsu at her previous location. While airborne, Lu saw this as an opportunity to use 'Bubble Style: Creation,' although he knew it was incomplete. This resulted in two very sensitive bubbles being contained by a very thin layer of electricity, floating towards Anko who was now focused on another barrage of shuriken Naruto's clones had thrown at her. This distraction proved to be enough to land his very incomplete bubbles on the woman, taking a very small amount of her chakra away, which Lu felt returned to him.
"Now that's quite the nifty trick isn't it?" Anko whispered from behind Lu's ear as she pinned both Lu and Naruto down to the tree they were in, tying them up. She then picked up the two genin and descended back to the grass, dropping them at her feet once she was grounded again.
"So I'll ask this nicely, but only one time," she began ominously,"What were you two runts tailing me for?"
"How'd yo-" Lu began.
"Hey, didn't I say I was only gonna ask once? I already disabled you, and seeing that there isn't anyone here to see what I could do to you, I'd tread lightly," she advised.
Lu began speaking, explaining that both he and Naruto were looking for someone to help them with chakra control exercises and decided she would be a perfect fit for the job because of the gear she had and her appearance.
"Well, you'd be right about me being the right choice, I am technically a jonin, but that doesn't mean I'd be willing to help you two. Tell you what, if you do me a favor after you are satisfied with your training, I'll gladly help you with your… chakra control issues," she cheekily said, as she pulled out a kunai, freeing Lu and Naruto.
