Disclaimer: Naruto don't belong to me
A/N: Here is a little something for Christmas. It was kind of rushed since I have been really busy lately. Merry Charismas everyone, and have a happy new year!
Christmas, a time of the year that gave of joy, or so people would say, for Sasuke however, it was a stressful time. Naruto kept warning him about getting Sakura a present from the first of December like he had gotten Hinata gift at the beginning of November.
Now he wished he had listened to the dope, he meant to buy it sooner though, but for some reason, he kept putting it off thinking it wouldn't be hard. But it was now December the 20th and he didn't know what to get her. She had told him many times he didn't need to get her anything as long as she got to spend time with him it'll be fine but he insisted he got her something. He knew she got him something, and according to Sai, it was something magnificent. Of course, the guy couldn't tell because Sakura would beat him into a bloody mess, with Ino's help too.
So any old sweater or dress he had passed by in the well-decorated stores wouldn't do. He would have asked Shikamaru for help but he had too much pride. Everyone thought he had gotten her something already. "Ah." He hummed to himself as he remembered her gushing about the perfume set her aunt had bought for her one time for her birthday as a plus he like the smell on her too.
So he pulled out his phone looking for it online, according to Sakura it was an easy way to do last minute shopping. Coming across it he smirks, this would be a plus to an emerald ring to match the chain she always wore. But to his distress shipping would come after Christmas, groaning he went into contacts to call Shikamaru.
But the thought of the guys laughing at him stopped him from pressing call, not to mention one of them slipping up to their girlfriends who were all friends with Sakura. That will be trouble and maybe his death. Sighing he made a B line to the jewelry store to get the emerald ring, maybe he could get her a matching earring to go with it, that wouldn't be so bad. He knew she would love it regardless but he wanted something that will blow her mind away.
Just as he was about to talk to the clerk something came into view, it reminded him of something else and the brilliant thought came into mind. He stood there for a couple of minutes thinking it over when he decided he would go through with it. Leaving the store immediately he went to a place he hadn't gone to in a while.
….
Sakura sat cuddled into her boyfriend's chest as they chat about the busy week they had and how they should spend their free time off together. It was early Christmas morning and they couldn't be any happier to be together, with the busy schedule they always had. "Ok enough, I can't wait to give you your gift. Close your eyes." Sasuke watched as she jumped off the couch, placing her empty cup that had hot chocolate init she stood in front of him like a little child. "Close them or else." He smiled at her as she placed her hands of her hips and puffed her cheeks at him cutely.
Closing his eyes he waited for her next command, he was tempted to open them as he heard shuffling. But with a temper like Sakura's, he decided against it, he wanted their Christmas morning to continue as a peaceful one. "Ok open them." With that, he opened his eyes to see a hand-painted portrait of his family, his parents, his older brother and the best part was next to him was Sakura.
His parents had passed away when he was a month into dating Sakura, in a car accident, she was there for him then and he always wanted a picture like this. He never thought he would be able to have one, so this meant a lot to him. "Thank you, babe, really." He got up to admire it, wrapping his arms around her waist he brought her in for a kiss. He was certain about his gift to her now.
"Close your eyes now." She immediately did as he asked with a grin on her face she didn't know what was coming to her. Sasuke pulled the box from his pocket; walking around her he moved her hair aside and pinned the Uchiha necklace on her. He knew his mother loved her when his family met her she kept telling him she was a keeper. The necklace was his mothers, she would always say it was for her daughter-in-law. Itachi had it and that day he had gone to his brothers to retrieve it from the old Uchiha's mansion. His brother had also approved of Sakura, which is why he had no trouble getting it.
He and Itachi had almost stopped talking, but because of Sakura, they had gotten close again, even working together or having drinks to catch up every so often. But Sasuke never likes going to the Uchiha's mansion after he moved in with Sakura, there were too many painful memories. It was something Sakura was helping him work on too. He admired his brother for staying there by himself with the workers his family had hired and trusted.
That night Sasuke wondered if he was ready to give it to her, he knew no one else was going to get it but her, he knew she was the only one for him, the only one he truly loved. But giving her such a gift as a last-minute thing wasn't what he wanted. So over the days as he kissed her goodbye and went to work he thought hard on the matter.
He was ready for such a step with the only woman that deserved such a jewel, and after her gift to him, he knew it was the right time too. He watched as she looked down at it, taking the petite pendant into her fingers she sniffled as tears ran down her face. "Don't cry." He took her into his arms and kissed her forehead as she sobbed into his chest. She knew the meaning behind such a gift. "I love you Sasuke." Was all she could say making him hide his smiled into her hair. She cherished the gift that was placed around her neck, she would never take it off, never let it out of her sight. Sasuke knew she would treasure it like his mother did as he and his brother did. "I love you too." He kissed the top of her head and held her tighter, satisfied with how things had turned out.
