Lloyd POV: I felt better knowing that Kai no longer had a knife sticking out of him, but I wasn't happy when Cole told me about him trying to leave the second we left. But we're all used to his stubborn behavior by now and it wasn't that surprising.
"It would be a really good idea to have the gaming system in here. It might distract him." Nya said, really not happy.
"Agreed, but even then I'm not sure that will work the whole time." Cole stated, crossing his arms. Which was true.
I sighed and said, "Then it might be a good idea to have someone stay in the med bay with him."
"If you can get him to agree to that I'll be amazed." Jay said, and he and Cole left to get the system.
"But seriously, how can we get him to relax?" Zane genuinely asked, thinking it over.
"I don't know. All I do know is that he's going to be a lot of trouble." Nya said, and that we're all confident about.
And we were right about that because later Cole and Jay reported when they went to his room they found Kai trying to leave again. Nya literally had to go babysit him for a while because he continued to try and convince the others to let him walk around. Again, I wasn't really surprised by any of that.
Later in the evening, I walked in to check and Nya was sleeping in the chair and Kai was stiff and looked like he was in pain.
Immediately I walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"
He just waved me off and whispered, "I'm fine, but Nya needs to sleep."
But she heard us and slowly woke up. But she accidentally tapped his side with the wound and he flinched and gasped a little.
She immediately stood up and said, "I'm sorry, are you okay?"
"Yeah." he said, despite the pain clearly in his voice.
We both gave him a look, and he ignored us. "Then you won't mind if we change your bandages, right?" I said.
He rolled his eyes, but he said, "Alright."
Carefully, I helped him up and Nya started to unwrap his stomach. No one said anything, but he did squeeze my hand once Nya finished. I saw the long line of stitches on his side, and I felt really bad for him because those look really painful. Though they didn't look infected so that was good. Nya carefully rewrapped the bandages and he laid back down. Already he was looking more relaxed, but there was still some pain.
"Thanks." he said, the pain in his voice wasn't as oblivious anymore.
"You can thank me by staying right here." Nya responded, and I nodded too.
Again, he rolled his eyes, but didn't say anything for a bit before finally, "Fine, but I'm going to blame my boredom on you two."
"I think we can handle it." I said, laughing a little.
"For now, though, we all need to get some sleep. We'll check on you in the morning." Nya said, giving him a side hug.
We walked out, but I said, "How likely is he going to stay?"
"Better than before, at least." But she didn't sound convinced at all.
We didn't say anything else and just went to our respective rooms. But I found it hard to sleep since I kept thinking about what happened today. And how this whole week is going to go. The only thing I'm positive about is how difficult it's going to be for all of us. But I'm going to worry about that in the morning.

Nya POV: I really didn't sleep well last night, mostly because I was worried about Kai all night. He was always one to ignore his pain until it was too much. But eventually I got up and went to check on him. But when I opened the door he was still sleeping. For once.
He usually gets up early unless he's really exhausted. Or if he gets injured like this, and I really don't like it. He's told me that he's working on it, but I really don't believe him.
I closed the door and headed to the kitchen to have some breakfast. Though as soon as I entered I immediately wanted to go back to bed. Jay and Lloyd were failing to make pancakes while Cole was struggling with the dishes. And Zane was just watching all of this in front of me.
"Do I want to know?" I asked him.
"Frankly, I don't know myself." Zane answered, but the others heard us too.
"We were trying to make something, but… it didn't end well." Jay said, looking helpless. I couldn't help but feel bad for him.
"Okay, but what about Cole?" As I asked, he somehow sprayed himself in the face.
"I don't want to talk about it. But who went through so many dishes in such a short time?" he asked, looking and sounding frustrated.
"I had lunch at Borg Tower, so I'm innocent." Lloyd said, trying to scrape off his pan.
"And we mostly snacked on things after Kai's injury, so we shouldn't have that many dishes." Zane said, going over to help.
"Either way. Let's avoid making more dirty dishes please." Cole said, and I nodded. The poor man needed a break.
I went over to help since they needed it. But it still took us a while before we got through them. Zane helped Lloyd and Jay make a proper breakfast that didn't have so many dishes.
After getting everything finished and clean Zane said, "Could someone go clean the living room? Someone left the controllers out."
"I thought you guys moved the gaming system to Kai's room?" I asked.
"We were, but we caught Kai and got distracted." Cole answered, but he didn't look happy about cleaning something else.
"I'll get it." Jay said, and left.
"I'll go and check on Kai. He'll need a change of bandages." Zane said, and he also left.
"In the meantime, do you guys want to train?" Cole suggested.
"Sure." I did need the distraction.
I just hope we don't get any other surprises today.
