Chapter 2: Growing Family
At the city hospital...
Jin worried: How is my wife, doctor?
Doctor: Your wife had a panic attack, leading to early labor, but she is fine. She woke up minutes ago, and the baby...
Jin, concerned, awaited the news.
Doctor: The baby is completely healthy, and congratulations, it's a girl!
Jin, relieved, expressed gratitude: Thank you, doctor.
Doctor: "You're welcome. Later, please proceed to the registration to fill in your newborn's information,"
Jin nodded and walked toward Xiaoyu's room.
Inside, Xiaoyu lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Jin stood by the door, watching her.
"Xiao..." he started.
Xiaoyu saw him and began to sob.
Jin hurried to her side, "Xiao, I'm sorry. I should have taken better care of you, and..."
Still in tears, Xiaoyu stammered, "I... I saw... I saw... a DEVIL."
Jin stood in shock, "WHAT!"
Xiaoyu, Worried, trying to sit: WHERE ARE THE KIDS?
Gently putting her back down, Jin reassured her, "Lay down. I'll get them for you. They are with our daughter."
Xiaoyu managed a light smile, "We... we have a girl."
Jin looked at her, smiled, and held her hand, "Yes, I'll get her and the kids. Wait here, and please don't move. The doctor said you should be in bed till you recover."
Xiaoyu nodded, still emotional while Jin kissed her forehead and went to see his newborn.
In the nursery...
Sasuke, the eldest son, gazed at his new sister, "Hi, baby sister, I am Sasuke, and I am your big brother."
Syuuto playfully pushed Sasuke, "And I'm Syuuto. I will protect you with my heart."
Sasuke corrected him with a smirk, "It's with my life, silly."
Panda, fixated on the baby girl, expressed with a rawr, "Hello, mini Xiaoyu."
Sasuke agreed, "You're right, Panda! She looks exactly like Mom!"
Jin entered the room.
Both boys exclaimed simultaneously, "Dad, look!"
Jin gazed at his daughter, then kneeled and cradled her, "She's beautiful, just like her mom."
Both kids beamed with joy, then Syuuto asked, "Dad, how is Mom? Is she okay? The doctor didn't allow us in."
Jin turned to them with a comforting smile, "mom is okay, we're going to see her now."
Jun, observing Xiaoyu from afar, murmured, "Oh, darling, I'm sorry I'm late. I would've loved to meet you."
Kazuya, coming in disguise, inquired, "So, where are they?"
Jun motioned for Kazuya to stand still, "Stand here; they're coming."
Walking towards Xiaoyu's room, Jin held his daughter, and both of his sons rushed to their mom.
The two boys cried out, "Mom!" and went up to her bed.
Xiaoyu greeted them, "Kids..." (she attempted to sit)
Jin warned, "Xiao!"
Xiaoyu corrected herself, "Oh, I forgot."
Jin addressed the kids, "Listen, kids, Mom won't be able to move a lot, so we need to support her, all right?"
Both kids nodded in understanding.
Panda entered and positioned herself next to Xiaoyu, leaning in.
Xiaoyu looked at Panda and patted her, expressing gratitude, "Panda, thank you." She began to sob, recalling what happened before she fainted.
Flashback (While on a walk with Panda, Xiaoyu sensed an unusual aura. Initially thinking it was a hallucination, she turned to find a devil—a female devil. Shocked, Xiaoyu fainted immediately. Meanwhile, Panda attempted to protect her from the devil, who left upon seeing Xiaoyu faint. Panda then carried Xiaoyu on her back, rushing to Jin for help as she was bleeding.)
Jin, for the first time sincerely, thanked his dead grandfather Heihachi for gifting Xiaoyu a panda as a bodyguard long years ago. (Fact Tekken 3 - Heihachi taught Panda "Advanced Bear Fighting" to fight so she is able to serve as Xiaoyu's bodyguard during the tournament).
The doctor's receptionist comes in, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but have you decided on a name for her?"
Jin glanced at Xiaoyu, silently acknowledging that she was the one to decide on their children's names. Xiaoyu, with a soft smile, looked at Jin and said, "Jun. I want to name her Jun."
In shock, Jin gently grabbed Xiaoyu's face and kis5ed her, his expression a mix of overwhelming joy and love. "What did I do to deserve you?" he whispered, his love for her evident in his eyes. "I love you."
Xiaoyu, blushing, replied with a chuckle, "Those kids... I love you too," and she shyly looked down.
Jin kissed her forehead, then turned to his daughter, his gaze filled with pride as he looked at his newborn. Just the sight of her meant the world to him.
However, as emotions unfolded in the room, Jun, who was watching from afar, turned away, overcome with both joy and sorrow. She was happy, yet a tinge of sadness lingered as she realized she had missed out on precious years and memories with her son and his family. A sense of regret washed over her, wishing she had been in contact with him long ago.
Feeling the weight of Jun's emotions, Kazuya wrapped his hand behind her and said sincerely, "I promise we will make amends. I'm sorry, truly sorry."
Jun, unable to contain her emotions, burst into tears, a mixture of happiness, regret, and longing flooding her heart.
