Virtue and Venom: Chapter 35
Land of Stone: With Kakuzu and Sasori
Sasori and Kakuzu walked through the rough terrain of the land of stone with Gaara; Gaara was being carried by Kakuzu on his shoulder unconscious as they continued through the countryside.
"Up ahead" Kakuzu said gaining Sasori's attention "that mountain is the hideout" he said; Sasori looked at the small mountain and spoke.
"Good spot" Sasori said "but what about pursuers; surely there must be a search party out by now" he said and Kakuzu nodded.
"I have taken the necessary steps to ensure the extraction will be a success" Kakuzu said "even if they find the hide out, they will have to deal with the traps I set" he said as they walked up to the mountain and stopped. Kakuzu made a hand sign and a stone door rose up to allow both men access to the hide out "lets go" he said as both he and Sasori walked in. Once they were through the door it came back down and closed behind them.
Land of stone (30 miles away): With Naruto and the others
Naruto, Ino, Sasuke, Mamushi, Kakashi, Anko, Hanabi, Sai and Chiyo were all running while following Pakkun as the small dog was following the scent of Gaara.
"Keep up people" Pakkun said "they were here a few hours ago; they weren't running they were walking if these tracks are anything to go by" he said continued to run.
"That's good" Kakashi said "if we hurry, we could stop them before they do anything to Gaara" he said and the others nodded.
"We'll get him back no matter what" Naruto said "I won't lose another friend" Naruto said as he remembered Asuma, Choji and Shikamaru.
"I know we will" Ino said putting a hand on Naruto's shoulder; Naruto turned to Ino and smiled as he looked at her.
"Those assholes are gonna pay for taking Gaara" Mamushi said "when I find them, I'll chop them up with old reliable" Mamushi said as she pulled out a scroll making Naruto and Ino look at it.
"Huh, what the hell is that" Naruto said and Mamushi smirked.
"A secret" Mamushi said with a smile.
Sasuke looking at Mamushi smiled softly as his girlfriends' antics "she's a strange one for sure" Chiyo said gaining Sasuke's attention "such an odd couple you 2 are; you a quiet and stoic type fell in love with an eccentric and hyper girl" she said and Sasuke chuckled.
"She keeps me on my toes" Sasuke said "if I'm not around she might destroy a village because a child gave her an odd look" he said and Chiyo laughed.
"Oh, what I wouldn't give to pick her brain and see what makes her tic" Chiyo said.
At the same time: With Kakuzu and Sasori
Sasori and Kakuzu put Gaara down in the center of a large cave; in the cave there was a large Gedo statue with 2 hands coming out of the ground. Kakuzu and Sasori both jumped onto a finger and made a hand sign.
After a few minutes several holograms appeared; Pein, Konan, Kisame, Zetsu and Tobi appeared on a finger of the statue and Pein spoke breaking the silence.
"You retrieved the 1 tail" Pein said and Kakuzu nodded.
"Yes, lord Pein" Kakuzu said "but I am sure there is a pursuit after us; I set traps but they can only delay for so long" he said and Pein nodded.
"It'll take us 3 days to extract the 1 tail" Pein said "if necessary, you and Sasori go and hold them off while we finish the extraction" he said and both Sasori and Kakuzu nodded.
"Shall we begin" Sasori said "I'm not known for my patience" he said and Pein nodded.
"Yes; get ready" Pein said as he and the other Akatsuki members went through hand signs "Sealing Jutsu: 7 Phantom Dragons" he shouted as the Akatsuki began their extraction process.
1 hour later: With Naruto and the others
Pakkun stopped as he stood in front of a mountain; he sniffed the ground until he looked up at Kakashi.
"This is the place" Pakkun said "must be a secret entrance somewhere because the scent cuts off" he said and Kakashi nodded.
"Ok thanks Pakkun; you can go" Kakashi said as the small dog went up in smoke "Hanabi; use your Byakugan to scan around" he said and Hanabi nodded.
"Yes sir" Hanabi said as she closed her eyes "Byakugan" she said as he eyes activated; Hanabi scanned the mountain and scowled. "Damn it" Hanabi said gaining all their attentions "they picked a good spot; there's a lot of lead in the rock" she said and Anko looked at her.
"Ok and…" Anko said before Hanabi deactivated her Byakugan and looked at her.
"The Byakugan can't see through lead or certain ceramics" Hanabi said "why do you think the anbu wear ceramic face masks; so, we can't see their faces" she said before Anko went wide eyed.
"Seriously" Anko said "damn it; how are we going to find an entrance, we have no eyes and no scents" she said and Sai cleared his throat.
"I can offer a solution" Sai said as he opened his scroll; Sai took out his brush and began to scribble a bunch of ink bugs that came off of the paper "My ink creatures will find a way in" he said.
The ink bugs all scurried into the mountain and the majority bounced off not able to find any openings; however, several disappeared into the mountain making everyone look at them in surprise. The ink bugs all gathered to the single point and exploded making the opening to the hide out visible.
"Wow; great thinking Sai" Naruto said looking at Sai who nodded.
"Just trying to assist" Sai said as he put up his scroll.
"Ok now we need to get in" Kakashi said "we're looking at probably 10 to 20 feet of rock" he said as he began to brain storm. 'How will we do this' Kakashi thought.
"Hey I have an idea" Mamushi said raising her hand; Mamushi dug into her backpack and took out a scroll with bright yellow markings "I have 20 pounds of C4; lets blow it up" she said and Chiyo spoke up.
"Good thinking honey" Chiyo said as she reached into her sleeve and pulling out a scroll "I have 100 explosive tags" she said.
Anko pulled open her shirt and reached down putting her hand in her cleavage; Naruto and Sasuke were looking at her rummaging trying to find what she was reaching for.
'Jiggly' They both thought.
Ino seeing this bonked Naruto and Sasuke on the head "don't look dumbasses" Ino said; Hanabi seeing this was disgusted.
'Men… such pigs; they are just lumps of useless fat' Hanabi thought 'they have nothing to do with a woman's beauty" she thought.
*Meanwhile
Tsunade, Hinata, Mei Terumi and Samui all sneezed at the same time.
*Back to the story
"Aha found it" Anko said as she pulled out a scroll and opened it; Anko was now holding a crate of dynamite "I'm so glad I kept this thing from our mission to Kusa" she said with a smile.
"Oh shit" Kakashi said "well I guess we can try it; everyone evacuate to about 2000 feet" he said.
With the Akatsuki
Gaara was levitating off the ground as the 1 tail was being extracted from him; Kakuzu and Sasori were both in deep concentration as they needed to focus. Suddenly there was a loud boom which shook the mountain and nearly made both men lose their footing.
"What was that" Pein asked and Kakuzu spoke.
"An explosion; the pursuit team has found us" Kakuzu said.
"I'll deal with them" Sasori said as he leapt down from his finger platform to the ground "you continue the extraction" he said as he walked out.
Outside: With Naruto and the others
Sasuke was standing behind a waist high mud wall dusting himself off as rock fell down from the sky "ok it's open" Sasuke said as he wiped his face "looks like a fireball was enough to set it off" he said as he looked behind himself.
Mamushi, Kakashi and Anko all made a large mud wall to protect themselves from the blast; Mamushi was the first to come out from behind and wrap her arms around Sasuke.
"Thank you, Sasuke," Mamushi said giving him a kiss on the cheek "you set off my explosives; how sweet and romantic" she said making Sasuke sweat drop.
"I don't think you even know what that word means" Sasuke said.
"Ok everyone; let go in" Kakashi said "Me, Naruto and Sasuke in the front, Ino, Chiyo and Hanabi in the middle and Anko, Mamushi and Sai in the rear; stay alert and stay close" he said and they all nodded.
Kakashi led the way through the opening with the others following behind him; as they entered the case, they saw there were lights installed meaning there was running electricity in the mountain. Naruto as walking through down a dark and scary looking hallway which was barely lit.
'Aw man this is like a horror movie' Naruto thought; when Naruto took his next step, he felt his foot sink down. Naruto set off a pressure plate which triggered a trap; a long blade came out of the wall going towards Naruto's chest. Naruto quickly grabbed his trench knives and put them up in front of him.
The blades clanged and Naruto was knocked on his ass "holy shit" Naruto shouted as both Kakashi and Sasuke stopped and looked at what happened. Suddenly from the ceiling dead drop spikes fell down being unseen by the 2 men.
Kakashi was pulled back in time by chakra strings courtesy of Chiyo and Mamushi extended her tongue and wrapped it around Sasuke's waist pulling him back as the spikes fell right where the 2 men stood.
"FUCK" Kakashi shouted; Kakashi looked back at Chiyo "thanks" he said and Chiyo smiled.
"Don't mention it" Chiyo said.
"Thanks, Mamushi" Sasuke said as Mamushi retracted her tongue and smiled.
"You're welcome… I want my usual after the mission" Mamushi said and Sasuke nodded.
"You earned it" Sasuke said.
"Ok are we just going to ignore what she just did" Naruto said "Mamushi's tongue stretched like 30 feet" he said and Mamushi giggled.
"Family jutsu" Mamushi said as she extended her tongue and touched her for head before retracting it "it comes in handy… in many kinds of ways" she said with a wink.
"Ew gross" Hanabi said.
"I meant eating ice cream and stuff" Mamushi said insulted "god Hanabi I'm not that kind of girl" she said and Hanabi looked at her with a blank face.
"Yeah sure" Hanabi said.
Naruto got up and looked down the hall way "they booby trapped this place" Naruto said as he made his signature hand sign "I better clear the way" he said. "Shadow clone jutsu" Naruto shouted as he created 10 clones "ok boys lets go" Naruto shouted.
*1 hour later
"Banzi" A Naruto clone shouted as he ran down the hall; a few steps later there was a explosion from a land mine. Naruto and the others were about 50 feet back as they saw another clone be destroyed.
"What clone was that again" Naruto asked Ino who was keeping count.
"82" Ino said "we've been at this for an hour already" she said shaking her head.
"Landmines, spike pits, snake pits, flame throwers, poison darts and acid traps" Anko said "they really don't want us finding them" she said.
"Let's keep going" Kakashi said and Naruto made 3 more clones who began to walk ahead of them; Naruto and the others began to walk down the hall way when a clone stepped on a pressure plate "everyone get ready" Kakashi said. As soon as he stopped speaking, he Naruto and Sasuke all fell through a trap door on the ground.
"Naruto" Ino shouted and as soon as she said that her, Hanabi and Chiyo were all lifted on a platform which raised them up through the ceiling into another area.
"What the hell" Anko shouted as she, Mamushi and Sai were left behind in the hallway which was now clear "lets go and find them; Sai make some creations to clear the way" she said and Sai nodded.
"Very well" Sai said as she scribbled out some ink creatures.
With Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke
All 3 men were getting off the ground groaning as they stood up "damn that hurt" Naruto said as he cracked his neck "owww" he whined.
"We fell into another trap" Kakashi said as he saw they were in a wide-open area "and I don't think it's over" he said.
Sasuke activated his sharingan and scanned around and saw movement "Movement all around us" he said; Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke all drew out their weapon and looked around in the barely lit area.
Out of the shadows came the clanging and rattling of wood which Naruto and the others knew all to well; over 100 puppets in red cloaks carrying various weapons came out and surrounded them.
"Oh shit" Naruto said as he looked around trying to find the puppet user "where the hell is the puppet master" he said.
*With Ino, Hanabi and Chiyo
"Hanabi, are you ok" Ino said as she helped Hanabi up.
"I think I bruised my butt" Hanabi said as she rubbed her behind.
"I think I lost my arm" Chiyo said pointing down at the ground with her other arm; on the ground was a severed limb. Both Ino and Hanabi screamed in terror until Chiyo began to laugh "hahaha; sorry I couldn't resist" she said as she recalled the severed limb back with her chakra strings. "That was always your favorite joke… right Sasori" Chiyo said as she looked past Hanabi and Ino.
"I haven't heard it in a long-time grandmother" Sasori said as she walked out showing his puppet body "now then" he said bringing out his metal wings. "Shall we begin" Sasori said.
Ino took out a kunai and got into her stance, Hanabi activated her Byakugan and got into a taijutsu stance; Chiyo took out a scroll and opened it up revealing both the mother and father puppets making Sasori's eyes widen.
"Yes; lets begin my dear grandson" Chiyo said.
