Chapter 1: Defiance towards Fate
"So this is it huh"
Roxas stared at the pod in front of him, the pod that holds his Other, Sora. the source of everything so far, his reason for the Organization wanting him, hiding things from him, and the reason he ultimately betrayed them, all because he was Sora's Nobody, all because he could use the Keyblade.
Roxas clenched his fist as he glared at the ground beneath, it's not fair why? Why did everyone only care about Sora? Why does his life matter more than him? Is it because he was a nobody? Is it because he has no heart? Well, it is not like he was asked to be born this way. So why why why why WHY!
"*Sigh* Sora you're lucky" Roxas stared back at Sora still in his sleeping state with a look of resignation and envy before closing his eyes "Looks like my summer vacation is over"
As he said this Roxas body began to fade away slowly as his body began to merge back into his other
However before the merger could be complete, strange images began to appear in his mind, of a young girl standing next to him and hanging out with him started to invade his thoughts. But for some reason, he can't see the girl's face, only the girl's clothes and her black hair.
Who was she?
More images started to appear of her and him doing missions together, talking to each other, hanging out with one another….and even trying to kill each other
He now saw him holding her near the crystalized body as she whispered something to him
"Roxas I need you to do me a favour all those hearts I capture….Kingdom Hearts…please set them free"
Roxas opened his eyes with a look of realisation 'Xion!' The key of destiny used all the willpower he had to break free from the merger as his body stopped fading
A look of anger and fury now appeared on Roxas's face as he stood up from the ground and glared at the pod where Sora was.
He remembers now how there was another person with him and Axel, How he and she were always there for each other, how he and she were tricked into killing each other, by not only the very Organisation that they worked for but by the very people who put him into that virtual prison and considered his life to be lower than dirt
The thought of those three caused Roxas to clench his fist even tighter as he gritted his teeth those bastards treated both him and Xion like they were both expendable garbage like their lives didn't matter in the slightest and manipulated Xion into believing suicide was the best course of action
And to think he almost let them get away with it
'Yeah well not anymore I'm done being a goddamn pawn by both DiZ and Xemnas I'm through being told that my life has less value than anyone else damn it!'
right now something inside him is screaming at him to leave this place and finish the mission that was given to him by Xion
And you know what he agrees
"Screw this," he said out loud before he turned around from the pod containing Sora. He will not let DiZ have his way and he will not be used by others ever again. And so he raised his hand to create a Corridor of Darkness before DiZ appeared behind him.
"What do you think you are doing?" the bandaged man asked in his holier-than-thou voice.
The key of destiny looked back at the man with what can only be described as destain and hatred before turning back "I'm leaving"
The Corridor of Darkness started to form, blackness rising from the ground to create a portal. However, the darkness didn't completely rise, as if something was pushing it back "What the hell" Roxas muttered in surprise.
DiZ just smirked at the blond-haired keyblade wielder before speaking in his smug tone once more "I'm sorry to inform you of this but to make sure you didn't have any thoughts on escaping I designed a barrier around this place that will prevent any Corridor of Darkness from forming"
Roxas growled at the bandaged man, before looking back at the disintegrating portal. He then continued concentrating and started to push more of his darkness into the portal
"Just give up, child. It is obvious you can't escape so why not accept defeat and return to your other self, besides it's not like you were supposed to exist anyways." DIZ said causing Roxas to growl at him even more before glaring at the portal
As Roxas was contemplating on just giving up and booking it before DIZ and Riku could catch him until an idea popped into his head.
As Roxas stopped pumping the corridor with more darkness a red and black surge of energy came out of Roxas's hand as it poured itself into the Dark Corridor causing it to rise and forming a portal but instead of the portal being all black it was red with a black outline this wasn't a Corridor of Darkness this was was something more. If he had to describe this Corridor it would be…Chaotic
DIZ's eyes widened in shock at what he was seeing, somehow the boy was able to open up a portal which should be impossible as he made sure the barrier would halt any Corridor of Darkness from being created no matter how much darkness you pour into it. "How did you do that!" DIZ yelled at the boy who was currently looking at his hand at that moment
Roxas couldn't believe that actually worked. Due to having the ability to use Light, Darkness, and Nothingness In a last-ditch effort he used a combination of the three elements to create this new Corridor
Roxas looked back at DiZ whose eyes were now one of panic as he gave the man a Victorious grin before he jumped into the portal escaping his terrible fate and heading off into the unknown…..

'I must be either very insane or completely stupid for jumping into a portal I have no knowledge of. I didn't even set a destination, I could end up anywhere. Oh well, better than being with DiZ, Riku,' he thought as he was descending through the Corridor, it seems unlike the Dark Corridor he used to make which let him walk through one world to another, this Corridor which he is now calling the Corridor of Chaos seems to have him descending instead
However, he soon stopped wandering about that as strands of the portal started to form around his body covering him from head to toe causing the Key Of Destiny to panic. 'What's going on!?' he thought wildly as the clothes he was wearing were starting to change into….a new coat.
Roxas starred as the strands of Chaos that are now disappearing from his coat, the same one he wore during his time with the Organization. 'No, not the same,' he thought as he noticed the differences. For one the coat no longer covers his whole body and is unzipped, showing his plain black shirt and the chain with the X symbol, The coat also had two belts that are connected by a clasp that had the nobodies symbol on it and a zippered pocket in between them and the shoulder now have shoulder pads.
His pants also changed as well. Gone were his white and black pants now replaced with a grey and black one along with his shoe being a black military-style combat boot with grey outsole. Once the coat had fully formed, a bright light emerged at the end of the portal with Roxas crashing down causing the young boy to get knocked out.

DiZ slammed his fist on his desk as he scowled at the computer screen showing the footage of Roxas opening a Corridor over and over again 'How is it possible? How did that nobody create a Corridor even though he shouldn't be able to'
Just as he was pondering this Riku appeared out of his dark portal and looked at DiZ "So what do we do now"
"Isn't it obvious we must find him again without him Sora will never be able to defeat the Organization. Namine, can you track Roxas as you did before." Both he and Riku then turned to a young, blond-haired girl in a simple white dress standing to the side.
The young girl shook her head causing the both of them to frown "I can't whatever he did is causing interference with his connection with Sora"
This made DiZ growl in anger as Riku was clenching his fist as he looked back at the monitor that shows his best friend currently sleeping in a pod that will continue to hold him until they can get Roxas back.

The Greater nobody slowly woke up from his slumber, Clutching his head from the pain of the fall. That Corridor seriously did a number on him.
As he got up from the ground Roxas started noticing his surroundings and realised he was in some sort of plaza of a cathedral, everything was quiet. The only sound was the running water from the decorative fountain in the center of the plaza.
'where the hell am I?' Roxas thought to himself he also noticed how damaged the area was and how a chunk of the fountain had been destroyed 'The better question is what the hell happened here' the young nobody asked himself.
Roxas cautiously summoned Oathkeeper and Oblivion in case something decided to surprise him as he checked around the destroyed plazas he soon noticed that most of the routes were either blocked or destroyed but by who?
as he headed towards the northern gate. The only route that hasn't been destroyed or blocked by rubble he soon realised the gate was locked as well as he tried to push the gate to open but didn't budge "Alright then Plan B" Roxas muttered as he tried to cut the gate in half with Oathkeeper only for a red barrier to appear and deflect the attack.
"What the!?" The keyblade wielder yelled in a surprised tone before he repeatedly tried to strike the gate again and again only for the same thing to happen again causing him to grow more frustrated before deciding to give up.
"Just great now how am I supposed to get out of here" Roxas says as he dematerialized his keyblades and checked his surroundings again only to quickly stop when he soon noticed a small red door to the right of the northern gate causing the Nobody to facepalm himself 'how did I not notice that'
Roxas then walked towards the red door and entered to see the inside of some sort of storage room, and just like the area before it, it seems to be damaged as well with even a portion of the stairs case being destroyed as well 'what could have caused all this' The Nobody wondered he first thought it was the heartless until he realised if that was the case this world would have been destroyed by now.
Roxas softly shook his head standing around here isn't going to solve anything right now he needed to continue moving and find out what was going on and fast so he soon ran up the broken stair and leaped off the destroyed parts of it and found himself on the second floor of the building before finding a second area of storage with a blue door this time.
Believing this was the way out Roxas soon walked toward the blue door and just as he was about to grab a handle a red barrier appeared once again blocking Roxas off from leaving "what again-ugh!?" Before he could finish that sentence a sudden wave of killer intent soon flooded the area causing Roxas to look back to see an entire swarm of bugs covering the area causing the keyblade wielder to summon his weapons.
however before he could strike first the bugs went into what appeared to be a bunch sacks on the ground causing the sacks to expand and grow and if that wasn't weird enough the sacks seemed to have blades on one of their arms or legs "well you don't see that everyday" Roxas muttered however as he sensed there power he didn't feel all that threatened by them
and he sooned proved it as well as he moved swiftly and silently, taking down the sack monsters with ease. While their strikes were powerful, they were nothing compared to his attack as each of his slash caused a fatal blow against these creature causing them to roar out a vicious scream as they disappeared leaving nothing but red crystals which to the nobody surprise were absorbed into his keyblades 'what was that' he wondered however he didn't have time to think as more of these creature tried attacking him with there blades only for Roxas to parry them.
as he finished the last of the sack creatures Roxas soon looked back at the door to see the barrier destroyed granting him passage to the next room "well now i know what caused all this damage" but what were those things? they couldn't have been heartless while they may have seemed similar there was just something different about them but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
He then grabbed the handle and opened the blue door leading to a small balcony and as he walked through he soon noticed the area right next to him.
"Holy," Roxas mouthed when he saw the situation from a higher view.
About a hundred of those things occupied the main business district street. They sat upon overturned cars and buses, some of which had caught fire. All of them were twittering madly as well as the stare at the pile of dead corpses surrounding them
Roxas looked unnerved he knew if he went down there right now and fought those things he'll get overrunned and killed "best to stay in the buildings for now" he muttered as he continued walking forward and entered the next room
it was white cathedral completely void of anything except a stair leading to the lower floor that has nothing but chairs and an empty pedestal while on the upper floor was an empty area with two bars one of which is blocking the exit to this place along with a destroyed floors
Roxas immediately sliced the bars into pieces with Oathkeeper before leaping over the destroyed floor and walking out of the cathedral leading him to another balcony this one however lead to a dead end
"Just great now where do i go" Roxas sighed before he looked at the building next to this one and spied a balcony across the street with a high railing this gave him an idea he could jump from this building to the next one
The only problem is the army of monsters down on the street below. if he fails this jump he'll fall straight to the ground and he'll have to fight and eventually be overwhelmed by those things
"That's just a risk I'll just have to take" he says to himself as he got into a running position and dashed straight towards the balcony and yanked himself from the railing and over the mass of monster below him.
He then landed on the railing of the other building as he hoisted himself over " man that was close" Roxas sighed in relief before sprinting down the balcony. When he reached the end, he launched himself across the street again, landing himself on a larger balcony
*Vroom* *Vroooom* *Vroom*
Before he could continue going any further however he heard a sound of what appeared to be an engine revving
'where is that noise comings from'
*VROOOOM*
As the noise got louder Roxas soon pinpointed sources of the engine rev as he looked towards the roof of a giant building right next to the one he was standing on and was filled with those sack creature's he fought before but they weren't alone as in middle of it all was a white-haired boy wearing a blue coat and pants with a red hoodie and brown boots. and in his hand was a red sword that seems to be cover in flames Roxas noted
the cloaked boy watched as the man fought these thing and as he fought he soon heard that engine rev again which came from the man's sword as flames came out of the hilt 'so that's where that noise was coming from' he noted once more and as he continued to watch Roxas soon noticed one other unique thing about this man his right arm.
The man's right arm was a red reptilian-esque claw that seemed to extend up to his elbow. not only that but there's also a blue streaks that runs along the back of the forearm that is also connected to a glowing patch on the back of the hand although that wasn't the weird part
the weirdest part was how the man was able to summon a larger, spectral arm that look similar to the one the man has and grabbing those creatures with it before slamming them to the ground
needless to say Roxas eyebrows were raised as he examined the thing as he has never seen anything like it before 'then again weirder has happened to me before' Roxas thought as he remembered alot of his mission with the Organization and even that fight with Riku where he changed his entire appearance when he succumbed to darkness and was able to summoned that weird heartless to defeat him
pushing those memories aside for now he continued to examine the guy fight with those things Roxas could see the guy was skilled and ruthless 'if he and i had to fight I'd probably wouldn't have the upper hand in that battle' he thought to himself, trying to decide what to do.
On the one hand, this had nothing to do with him and the Organization had always advised him to keep out of sight of the "locals" whenever he was in a different world. On the other hand though, those methods wouldn't really work in regards to his survival. He needed information, he needed allies, and most importantly he needed help, especially in a world he has zero knowledge about. 'Besides, at this point what do I have to lose?' he thought as he pulled up his hood and summoned Oathkeeper and Oblivion.
Nero was not having a good day, he woke up late today, completely missed his childhood friends Kyrie performance in the cathedral thanks to him trying to find a good gift for the girl and a bunch of demons deciding to block his path to said cathedral and having to fight them without his sword and that wasn't even the worst part, the worst part was the fact some red coated asshole decided that today of all days would be a great day to shoot the pope and cause chaos in the cathedral before leaving and killing some of the men from the order and if that wasn't bad enough the demons decided to do a full scale invasion right when the old bastard died just perfect. and now here he is trying to track down the guy in the red coat and getting some payback for making his day into a shit show
So imagine his surprise when he saw a key shaped sword come flying out of nowhere and cutting down three demons in half as blood spilled from there bodies and the key shaped sword disintegrate into nothingness. Both he and the scarecrows looked back to see some guy standing on the railing wearing an all black coat and a hood obscuring his face. they were also shorter than nero by a couple of feet as well. The main characteristic about this person was the two odd swords he was holding. One was long and black, with what looked like bat-wings on for the hilt. The other was shorter and coloured a crystalline white, with what looked like a heart and a star at the end of it.
the black cloaked stranger dashed himself in the air and attacked the scarecrow demon. 'Well you don't see that everyday,' Nero thought as he joined the fray. The two moved swiftly and viciously, taking down the demons with absolute ease. The demon's attacks were easily dodged by the two blade wielders. The devil hunter watched carefully as he fought. Whoever was helping him was extremely skilled with his weapons. His movements were very fluid as well but they clearly lacked power behind their swing. fortunately it seems like he's no stranger with fighting against multiple enemies
Once the last scarecrow burst into flame thanks to Nero sword, the two swordsmen looked at each other. Nero watched guardedly as he placed his sword on his shoulder as the black cloaked person's weapons disappeared in a flashes of light and dark. "Thanks for the help now, will you mind telling me who the hell you are?" Nero demanded from the hooded figure
Roxas decided to pull down his hood revealing his face to the white haired devil hunter. "I'm Roxas. I saw you were in trouble and thought you might need some help," he explained simply.
Nero raised his eyebrows. He never met anyone named that in Fortuna "Roxas huh? I'm guessing you not from around here are you?" he asked the blond haired boy
Roxas shook his head "nope just got here actually" this caused Nero to get suspicious of the boy since Fortuna is a remote island disconnected from the outside world and as far as he knows there were never boat arrival planned for today as well so how did he get here
Nero soon lifted the blade from his shoulder and pointed directly towards the blond boy causing him to be on guard "and how exactly did you get here precisely?" he demanded from the nobody
Roxas thought about what to do for a moment before realising it was probably best if he told somewhat the truth "Long story short, I was in a group that was using me and my best friend for there own ends. and my friend was then tricked by our groups enemy into committing suicide and I was captured by them I only recently escaped both of them and ended up here, wherever here is."
Nero narrowed his eyes, it didn't seem like he was lying. but it was obvious he was leaving things out, but besides that everything he said seems to be true. "I see. Well the names Nero and to answer your question your in an island known as Fortuna it a remote islands that's completely disconnected from the rest of the world so you should he safe from those people here...unfortunately you seem to have caught us at a bad time" Nero looked back at the burned corpses of the scarecrow demon as roxas did the same thing
"Yeah I've been wondering what those creatures were and what exactly happened to this place?" Roxas asked the white haired swordsman causing to sigh in frustration just remembering today
"I'll keep this story short as well these things right here are demon creatures that are born from the demon world and are basically cruel monster that seek to devour humans blood and their souls to increase their own power" hearing this caused Roxas to frown by the sound of it theses demon sounds no different from the heartless but unlike the heartless these demons sound more vicious and cruel
"As for what happened *sigh* awhile back our order was worshipping there God Sparda when suddenly some red coated asshole decides to drop from the sky and killed the pope of there religion causing panic around the town and if that wasn't bad enough the dude proceeded to murder all of our soilders in the area as well I tried fighting the fucker but he ran off before we could finish the fight" Nero explained to the blonde who just processed everything that was told to him
"And now I'm basically on a mission by the order to hunt this guy down and bring him back to headquarters while stopping this demon invasion while they evacuate citizens to safety because that's totally something one man can handle all on his own" he says in a very clearly sarcastic tone that even Roxas could understand and could see how that would be to much pressure even for someone like him, Roxas looked at Nero. "Want some help?"
Nero looked back at the boy with his eyebrows raised "Why?"
He shrugged. "Like I said, I just escaped and now I'm on the run. Judging from what happened, I'd say this place is not very friendly right now and beside by the sound of it you could probably use a partner right now so what do you say" Roxas says as he raised his right hand towards Nero
Nero stared at Roxas hand wondering if this was a good idea before a smirk formed on his lips and shook his hand "I warn you I don't play nice with others" Nero warned the teen with playful tone however this simply made Roxas smile back at him "yeah well neither do I" Nero grin grew even further before letting go of Roxas hand and walked towards the door.
"Follow me" Roxas nodded and followed, Nero was unsure of where this would all take him but he knew one thing. It sure as hell will be interesting

So I'm sure some of y'all realised this but this chapter of the story is basically inspired by one of my favourite Roxas Story on this site that being Demonabyss Twilight will which has unfortunately been dead for 4 years now…God time goes by so fast anyways since it been gone for so long and it ending up with a giant cliffhanger that will probably never resolved i decided to make my own version of his story
Obviously some concepts from Twilight Will will stay the same like the Chaos Corridor, Roxas main keyblades being changed to two become one and defiance of fate and some of the drive form like void form but the rest will be completely my idea
Be warned though don't expect my writing to be like Demonabyss I'm still trying to get better at descriptive writing and hopefully I get better as the story continue
As for pairings…..yeah I'm sorry but if you don't like harems this is not the story for you then since I'm planning for Roxas multiple love interest throughout his journey (again I'm really sorry)
