Prologue
(Forest in New York)
Fear.
That's all Percy felt as he was running through the woods. It was very dark and he wasn't sure what was behind him but he wasn't keen on finding out either. I'm so dead he thought to himself as he was running.
As whatever was chasing him closed the distance Percy ran into an open clearing bathed in moonlight. In the middle of the clearing on a log sat a beautiful woman plucking a string on a bow shaped like a crescent moon.
She looked up to see Percy approaching before the creature behind him broke into the clearing. Percy turned around only to see the biggest dog he's ever seen. Covered in red and black fur and baring its teeth at him. Percy turned back to the woman only to see her gaze harden as she stood up. Pulling back the string a silver arrow appeared before she launched it and struck the dog between the eyes.
Percy watched in awe as the arrow struck its target and he stared at the dog in confusion as it exploded into gold dust. Turning back to the woman he finally got a good look at her.
She stood at a decent height with flowing silver hair and pulsing silver eyes with what Percy thought were crescent moon iris's but he thought it was just a trick of the light. She smiled down at him and spoke in a soft, kind voice, "Rest Percy, I will watch over you tonight."
She waved her hand as a silver sleeping bag and pillow appeared before sitting back down on the log. Percy who was barely standing mumbled "okay." before getting in the sleeping bag and passing out.
A few minutes passed before a flash of fire appeared and out walked a man in golden armor and a laurel wreath made of fire resting on his head. The woman, Selene looked up and smiled warmly at the man as he sat down next to her. He smiled back and spoke in a kind yet stern voice, "Is he the one?" Selene replied while looking at the boy, "Yes dear brother, I believe he is."
The man, now identified as Selene's twin brother Helios, titan of the sun, stood up and said " I shall start her on her journey then. With any luck they will meet when the Fates deem it the time." He then disappeared in a flash of fire, the same way he came.
Selene looked at the boy again and said "You will be our savior Percy Jackson. We need you." Before she turned back around while noticing her brother started a fire for her to enjoy while Percy slept. Selene smiled before settling in for the night.
