The teams came up with different strategies to capture other bases. They either attack the closest bases, the weakest bases, the ones captured by the knights or the Fairy Tail base. Fairy Tail has the most points, so other teams try to stop them by capturing their base.
Wendy ordered her teammates to remain in their base and defend it for now. They defend their base from 4 mages' attacks. Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus sent two of their mages to attack while the other three defend their bases. Their first target is the Fairy Tail base because they can't win if they don't stop Fairy Tail.
The defense of Fairy Tail's base was very formidable against the 4 attackers. Bella set up rune formations around their base to stop the attackers. She had learned some magic, but Rune Magic is the one she likes the most now, and she has a lot of talent with it.
Bella set up the rune formation before the puppet knights attacked their base. She didn't activate them though after Wendy ordered not too. Wendy knew that facing the knights would be easier than the mages, so they didn't need to use the rune formations then.
That strategy kept their rune formations intact and still good as new. Even if their base took some damage, their rune formations are still very strong. Walls of runes surround Team Fairy Tail's base, protecting them from other teams' attacks.
Even Orga from Sabertooth can't break the walls with his powerful Lightning God Slayer Magic. The attackers are Orga, Rogue, Hibiki and Jenny. They are trapped in rune prisons that are spread all around the base and they can't break their prisons.
Bella is dancing around happily while throwing flower petals while on the base's roof when she saw that no one can escape her rune prisons. It pisses Orga off and he yells angrily at Bella. But his yells make her happier because it means her rune prisons are powerful enough to frustrate Orga.
Rogue told Orga to stop and just focus on breaking the prisons. Orga sighed as he realized it was pointless yelling at Bella because she didn't care. He can't play mind games with someone who spent her whole life with a true monster.
So Orga stopped yelling and began trying to break his rune prison first. His attacks are powerful, but the first to break out isn't him, it's Hibiki. Hibiki had analyzed the runes using his Archive Magic and hacked them to break them.
He looked very smug after seeing Bella pout cutely because her rune prison had been broken in only a few minutes. But Hibiki's smug expression vanished along with himself. He was suddenly sent flying by a rune spring that came out of the ground.
Jenny, who was happy that Hibiki was able to help her break her rune prison, was frustrated now. Orga and Rogue are surprised to see another trap was waiting for them if they break their prisons. They look at Bella who was now smug after Hibiki disappeared.
"That cunning and playful fighting style. She is his sister indeed." Orga said.
Rogue nodded as he remembered fighting Ben a few months ago. He always fought seriously against real enemies, but he always played around while fighting his allies in sparring matches. He often teased his opponents when he played around while sparring to entertain himself and Bella copied that playful battle style.
Wendy and Carla tried to stop her, but they gave up because they knew that this style suits Bella well. She is stronger when she can be carefree in battles. Her serious self is strong, but the real nightmare for her enemies comes when she enjoys the fight and acts carefree, like now.
Bella is in a very good mood right now because she can now use every Rune Magic spell she has learned. So Wendy decided not to disturb her and let her do what she wants while the other team members do their tasks.
They leave the base's defense to Bella because it's more than enough. Meanwhile, they are now moving to attack other bases. But they don't move together, they split up to head to different bases to capture them alone.
The four of them don't attack immediately like other teams though. They gather information by inspecting and observing the bases first. They also watch as other teams attack the bases they target to find the weak points.
Wendy's strategy is simple. Observe their targets and let others weaken them first before striking. It's a strategy thought of by other teams before, but they changed it after the knights' attack. They realized that capturing the bases wasn't easy, so they need to move fast.
But they're also aware they can't go all out from the start. That's why they sent one or two mages to attack while the rest defend their bases. The first attackers' job is to weaken their targets. They will send more mages after their targets are weakened to increase their chance of winning.
The problem is, they are not that patient because attacking other bases and defending their bases at the same time is very difficult. They also don't know if they can capture other bases in the nick of time. So at the very least, they need to attack 30 minutes before the time limit was up.
Team Fairy Tail, no, Wendy was a lot more patient than anyone in this tournament. She ordered her teammates not to attack unless they are sure they can capture their base targets with the least amount of effort even if it's at the last minute.
Carla and Lily have the patience to follow that order, but it was difficult for Romeo. He kept worrying about the time limit and wanted to attack even though he was not sure about his chance of winning yet. Lily had predicted this, so he kept telling Romeo to be patient through their comm devices.
Romeo held himself back until he finally found the best chance to strike. The other 3 also do the same and they attack right when the bases they're targeting are captured by other teams. Other teams thought the same thing, but Fairy Tail had the most patience.
They waited until all teams were done fighting over the bases and attacked right when everyone became exhausted after fighting. All 4 members' attacks were launched at the last minute. The ones that captured the bases were still on guard, but they were tired while the Fairy Tail members were still full of energy because these four didn't need to guard their base.
Even if there are 3 people guarding the bases, the Fairies will still attack them. Those mages are tired while they're still full of energy, so even one of them is enough to fight the three tired mages. Besides, the Fairy Tail mages are aiming for the easiest bases to capture.
They are targeting the two bases that were captured by the knights that turned into the battleground for other teams too. The other 2 bases they targeted were Blue Pegasus and Quatro Cerberus. These two teams have the lowest defense because they only had 1 defender like the Fairy Tail team.
Carla and Romeo attacked the bases captured by the knights. Wendy attacked Quatro Cerberus while Lily attacked Blue Pegasus. They launch their attacks at the last minute with strong and decisive that will end their fight in an instant.
Carla attacked the tired Sting and Minerva, Romeo attacks the tired Toby, Yuka and Sherria, Lily attacks Ichiya who guarded his base alone and Wendy attacked Bacchus who also guarded his base alone. They all attack with super strong spells stealthily, so they surprised their opponents.
Carla used some magic bombs that she dropped from the sky, Romeo used the strongest spell his Fire God Slayer Magic could unleash that produced a massive explosion, Lily punched Ichiya away before the guy realized it and Wendy sent Bacchus flying far away with her Sky Dragon Slayer Magic. Unfortunately, Carla's attack failed because Minerva noticed her right away and teleported Carla's bombs away with her Space Magic.
Still, they successfully captured the other three bases and they didn't need to guard it for too long because they did it at the last minute. They put their flags on the bases and guarded them for a short time before the event came to a end.
Bella also successfully defended their base and no one could breach her defense. So with this, they got 40 additional points which gave them 108 points in total. Other teams have less points, so with this, Fairy Tail once again won the Grand Magic Games.
