She ran as fast and as far as she could through the deep dark forest. As she ran, she could hear the heavy footsteps behind her, she didn't know how long she had been running for; but it felt like she had been running for forever.
As she ran, she kept thinking how something like this could happen to her. She thought she had found a nice man from Forks Washington; to date turned out to be horrible idea now that she has seen his true colors.
(Flashback)
Katherine met Riley Biers at a local bookstore. They soon began to date. A year and a half into the relationship, Riley started to act weird going to Seattle every weekend. Soon Riley started to ask Katherine to join him. But Katherine refused to go with him. One day Riley asked Katherine to join him, and she refused to go with him. Riley reared back and slapped her across the face. Katherine was in shock; Riley had never laid a hand on her before. Soon after Riley had hit Katherine; he left in a rage not saying a word to her.
Week after week it's the same thing. Then one week Riley is obsessing about a woman that he met named Victoria. Katherine wanted to tell Riley that if he wanted another woman just go after her. But she didn't, out of fear of what Riley would do to her if she opened her mouth and said the wrong thing.
All Riley could talk about was how this woman had promised him immortality. Honestly Katherine thought Riley was losing his mind, there was no such thing as immortality, you live then you die the end. Nobody could live forever, that was impossible.

As Katherine ran, she could feel herself losing steam. To be honest she was getting exhausted from all the running. Riley was catching up fast. Soon Katherine spotted a large boulder next to a mountain. Katherine ran for it and hid behind it. Katherine held her breath and didn't dare to move or make a single sound. Katherine could hear Riley stop to look for her. Just then Katherine heard something else in the forest. Something was growling, not at her but at Riley. The growling was getting closer and louder. Katherine didn't dare move, too scared to make a noise. Whatever was growling was getting closer. All sudden there was a scream and the sound of running. Katherine took a chance to look and saw Riley running away at something that was standing near the rock.
As Riley ran away, Katherine came out from behind the rock. What Katherine was not expecting was a giant wolf standing there which she didn't see. As Katherine took a step out from behind the rock still looking at Riley's form fading away, she didn't see the medium sized rock on the ground and tripped and fell to ground hitting her head on another rock and falling unconscious.
