Author Note: I received a comment that has me a little concerned that this person didn't read the chapter.

How did she out run a vampire?

I'm curious.

If they had read the chapter, they would have read this little quote:

She was being chased by someone who smelled of leech, but they were still human."

Otherwise, they would have known that Riley was human when he was chasing Katherine.

Dark Side Of The Moon

Chapter 2

As Katherine lay unconscious at Sam Uley's house, Charlie searched high and low for her identity and the unconscious girl's family, but without knowing who the girl was Charlie couldn't find her family.

As time passed the pack started to wonder if the girl would wake up at all. Each pack member had something to say to the girl.

"Whoever did this to you I will find them and kill them if I have to," Leah tells the girl while she looks over her.

"You are safe here nobody is going to hurt you," Sam tells the girl when it is his turn to watch over her.

"You deserve better than what you got. No man should lay a hand on a woman. You deserve to be loved." Jacob says to her in his turn.

"I know Leah said she would kill whoever did this to you. Well, you see I agree with my big sister." Seth tells the girl when it is his turn to watch over her.

"Granpa said to tell you that you are welcome to stay in La Push so that we can protect you from whoever did this to you," Quil tells the girl.

"We all heard about this Riley person, who may have done this to you. I promise to you that I will do whatever possible to protect you, from the person who was chasing you." Embry tells the girl.

"You need to wake up, everybody is worried about you. We need to know who you are to be able to help you." Jared says to the girl.

Then it was Paul's turn to watch over the girl, at first Paul said nothing to the girl. Paul looked over at the girl and, saw that the bruises were more defined on her face and in the shape of a handprint. Felt the rage starting to bubble up inside, so much that Paul thought he might phase Sam's guest room. But Paul pushed that feeling away and calmed down before he phased into Sam's house.

As Paul leaned over the girl, there was a moan. Paul didn't know where the moan came from, then the girl moved, and she blinked open her eyes we're a second and then closed them. At first, Paul thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. The girl then opened her eyes and saw Paul looking at her. For Paul, everything stopped and stood still, and the girl became everything to him. Then there was a scream which could be heard outside of the house, which is where Sam was on his way home.

When Sam made it upstairs the girl was cowering in the corner of the bed and Paul was looking quite worried.

"Paul, what happened?" Sam asked as Emily tried to calm the girl down.

"Outside," Paul says to Sam looking at the girl.

Sam and Paul leave the room and Emily starts to question the girl.

"What is your name?" Emily asks the girl.

"K…Kat…Katherine." The girl stuttered out.

"Okay, Katherine, do you remember what happened?"

"I was at home when Riley came in and tried to drag me out to the car, saying we needed to go to Seattle to meet some woman that could give us the perfect life."

"What sort of perfect life?" Emily asks.

"Immortality. Which isn't possible, you live then you die. The end." Katherine tells Emily.

There is a short pause while Katherine thinks about where she might be because she doesn't recognize where she is.

"Where am I anyway?" Katherine asks Emily.

"You are in La Push," Emily tells Katherine.

"La Push? How did I get to La Push? I live in

Port Angeles." Katherine replies.

"We don't know, you were found in the woods unconscious."

"How long was I unconscious for?" Katherine asks.

"A day and a half," Emily tells Katherine.

"I am feeling tired," Katherine tells Emily.

Emily was looking out the window when Katherine told her this and didn't notice that Katherine had laid down and was starting to doze off.

"Okay, you get some rest I am going to go call the doctor to come and check on you." But when Emily looked back at Katherine, she found Katherine asleep. Emily walked out of the room and went and called Doctor Greentree.

Outside Paul and Sam had started to walk the path that led to the beach.

"So, Paul what happened up there?" Sam asks Paul.

Paul was quiet for a while; he was just looking down at the ground as they walked along the path.

"I…I Imprinted." That is all Paul said to Sam.

"That is great! Who did you imprint on?"

"On the girl. After she opened her eyes, I imprinted on her. Sam, she fears me, I don't know what to do."

"You must be Patient. She has been through a lot."

"I will have to be there for her and support her. Whatever needs I'll be there for her."

"Now that you understand. Can we head back to the house?"

"Yeah, sure I need to check on my imprint."

Meanwhile

As Riley drives back to Seattle after chasing Katherine to god knows where and coming face to face with a giant wolf or bear. Riley didn't know what that thing was that he saw in the woods.

Victoria was going to kill him for failing to bring her another member of the newborn army.

She is going to kill me, for not bringing Katherine to her. Riley thought as he drove closer to Seattle.

As Riley got closer and closer to his destination, he got more and more nervous.

Once Riley arrived at his location. He sat in the car trying to calm down his racing heart. Once Riley got his racing heart under control he got out of the car. But before he could move or shut the car door Victoria was in front of him.

"Where is she? I want your girlfriend!"

"She got away. She ran away and something like a giant bear or a wolf or something like that chased me off."

"No excuses! You said you would have that little plaything of yours."

"I know. But there were complications."

Victoria walked Riley into a rundown abandoned building. Once inside Victoria kissed Riley and then proceeded to bite Riley. Within seconds Riley was on the floor in pain and agony from the venom that Victoria had pushed through his veins.

"Maybe that will help you catch the little brat and make her one of us."
