Author's note: Hi. I just want to say, thank you for reading this! This is one of my first fanfics, and no flame please. If you don't like the story, don'tread it. Most of the chapters are going to be quite short, but I'll try to upload two per day, although it might be more during the weekend. Also, to stop any confusion, I'm doing thoughts in Italics, and any thoughts Jayfeather hears inunderlined italics.
Disclaimer:I don't own warriors, or any of the characters, but I do own my plot!

Briarpaw stepped out of her den. "What are we doing today, Thornclaw ?" She called. "Did you forget!?" Briarpaws sister, Blossompaw called from the clearing "Forget what?" Briarpaw mewed, her confusion deepening. "It's our assessment!" Bumblepaw, her brother yowled. "Do we have to do it in this weather?" Blossompaw moaned "Yes, you do." Lionblaze called, stepping out in the wet clearing "If you can catch prey in this weather, it'll be effortless when you're dry." "Come on Blossompaw, it'll be fun" Briarpaw meowed. I'm going to be a warrior! Briarpaw thought excitedly. I wonder what my name will be? Briarcloud? Briarshine?

"We passed!" Briarpaw yowled triumphantly, bursting into camp with a squirrel clamped in her jaws. Her siblings ran alongside her, laden with their prey. "Great job!" Their clanmates called. Suddenly, Briarpaw heard a faint sucking sound. "What's that?" She mewed, just as Lionblaze raced out into the clearing. "Everyone, clear the camp!" He screeched. "What's going on?" Dustpelt yowled from the clearing. "A tree is falling! Clear the camp!" The clearing erupted into chaos, cats milling about in panic. "Out, out, out!" Cloudtail screeched. Finally, cats started filing out the entrance to the camp. "Nursery clear!" Brambleclaw yowled. "Apprentices den clear!" Dustpelt called. Briarpaw darted forward trying to help untangle Rosepetal and Brackenfur. Briarpaw stared around the camp. Is there anyone left? Oh starclan, please bring my clanmates out of this alive. "Briarpaw, get out!" Millie's screech broke through Briarpaws cloud of thoughts. Her mother grabbed her by the scruff, dragging her out of the camp. "I can do it myself!" She yowled fruitlessly, struggling against Millie's grasp. "Don't you ever do that again!" She meowed, licking her kit's head. Briarpaw twisted her head to look around the camp, thankful that it was clear. Randomly, a flash of movement caught her eye. Longtail! "Come back!" Briarpaw yowled, darting towards him. "It's not safe! Suddenly, a loud cracking noise sounded above her as the tree plummeted down into the clearing. Briarpaw looked up as her life flashed before her eyes closed, and it all went dark.
