Later, Robyn and Mebh were back at the den with their daughter. Kelly was sitting on the floor playing with a doll while Mebh and Robyn sat against a cave wall.
"Are we going to leave the town?" asked Kelly.
"We don't know, sweetheart," said Robyn who was thinking about everything her uncle had told them.
"If bad people are coming, wouldn't leaving be the best?" asked Kelly as she put the doll down to look at her parents.
"Kelly, leaving would mean that we may never be able to come back here," said Mebh as she knelt before her.
"Even to visit the grave," she said.
"But staying would mean we could die," said Kelly.
"That's right," said Robyn after sharing a look with her wife. They both knew that Kelly was smarter than what her age would make people think and that she understood more than most kids.
"I would miss the town and being able to visit my mom and dad," said Kelly with a sad expression while looking down at the floor.
"However, I'd take losing all of that over losing you two, because I love you two just as much as I do them," she said while looking up at her moms with a big smile.
"Oh Kelly," said Robyn as she and Mebh hugged their daughter.
"So you really mean that you want to leave?" asked Mebh.
"Only if you two do, if you want to stay and fight then so will I," said Kelly.
"I believe we should put our thoughts into this decision as well," said Moll as she, Bill, and Jack walked in.
"Dad, we were…," said Robyn before Bill cut her off.
"You need to take care of the family, Robyn," said Bill.
"Especially since I won't be with you," he said.
"What… what are you talking about?" asked Robyn who was confused and horrified by her father's words.
"I've decided to stay here to help protect anyone who decides to stay behind and to lead them into battle," said Bill to the surprise of Robyn, Mebh, and Kelly.
