Merlin decides not to follow the absurd diktats of destiny. And so does Arthur and Morgana. Merlin leaves with Morgana to conquer Camelot and restore magic through force. As Arthur and Merlin amend the laws easing the use of magic, opposition erupts from both nobles and commoners. While the king, queen, and knights prepare for the Golden Age, Dodd-Killian and Mordred plot revenge against them all even as a new threat rises from Escetir. With a raise of his staff, Anhora pushed it forth and Prince Arthur fell his body transforming by the time he hit the ground." After killing a unicorn a price must be paid. Prince Arthur must prove to be true of heart and face a series of tests while dealing with being cursed.

What if after handling the Crystal of Neahtid in the the Witch's Quickening, Merlin wasn't just given a vision of the Great Dragon destroying Camelot. What if he was given insight into the events that would take place during the Fires of Idirsholas. What if the fates gave Merlin a second chance to set things right, stop Morgause once and for all and perhaps even save a friend.

Whilst kidnapped Arthur learns of Merlin's magic, and cannot forgive him of his betrayal. But when Camelot is threatened and magic is needed, will Merlin come back to his king before it's too late? Dreams. Dreams are what permeate the ever intangible inner mystery of humans, but for Merlin he is plagued by a terrible nightmare the night before he is meant to leave for Camelot. When he arrives he finds that the woman from his nightmare is not only real, but sharing the same nightmare he had. Will this chance change of fate spell the doom of Albion or its salvation.

On a hunting trip gone wrong, Arthur discovers Merlin's magic and banishes him - but not before making a wish he'll come to regret. The next day, Arthur has no memory of the magic, and wakes up to a Camelot that is not his own. Everything is different, everyone seems terrified of him, and worst of all… Merlin has vanished without a trace, as if he never existed in the first place.

As civil unrest stirs in Camelot, Arthur's knights and close friends contend with their own challenges and internal battles.
