Chapter 7:

The following morning, as sunlight filtered through the windows of the infirmary, Jonas stirred from his slumber. Blinking sleep from his eyes, he slowly became aware of Osiris still cradled in his arms. With a soft smile, he gently set it aside and sat up, stretching his muscles as he prepared to face the day ahead.

As he glanced around the room, he noticed Dr. Fraiser making her rounds, her expression a mixture of warmth and determination. Jonas couldn't help but feel a pang of gratitude towards the doctor who had tirelessly cared for him during his time in the infirmary.

"Good morning, Jonas," Dr. Fraiser greeted him, her smile brightening as she approached his bedside. "How are you feeling today?"

Jonas returned her smile, a sense of warmth spreading through him at the sight of her genuine concern. "Much better, thank you," he replied, his voice infused with newfound energy.

Dr. Fraiser nodded, her eyes scanning the monitors beside his bed to check his vital signs. "I'm glad to hear that," she said. "You're making excellent progress in your recovery."

As she continued to assess his condition, Jonas couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the doctor who had become like a mother figure to him during his time at Stargate Command. Her unwavering dedication and compassion had been a source of strength for him, guiding him through even the darkest of times.

"Thank you, Dr. Fraiser," Jonas said sincerely, his voice filled with gratitude. "For everything."

Dr. Fraiser's smile softened, touched by his heartfelt words. "You're welcome, Jonas," she replied, her tone gentle yet resolute. "Just remember to take it easy and listen to your body. We'll have you back on your feet in no time."

With a nod of understanding, Jonas settled back into the bed, his heart filled with a sense of hope for the future. Though he still had a long road ahead in his recovery, he knew that with Dr. Fraiser's guidance and support, he would emerge from this ordeal stronger than ever before.

As he watched her continue her rounds, Jonas felt a renewed sense of determination coursing through him. Whatever challenges lay ahead, he knew that he would face them with courage and resilience, buoyed by the unwavering support of those who cared for him.
