Chapter Eight

Mrs. Davis smiled as they entered, "My, those are lovely dresses. Where did you get them?"

"Harry conjured them," Daphne said.

Tracey said, "I wanted to ask, are there rules about how many articles of clothing you can wear for strip poker?"

Mrs. Greengrass answered, "Well normally it's whatever you come to the table wearing but if you show up in several obvious layers we'll assume you aren't serious and move Harry to the other side of the house. Your cousin Virgil is here for the holidays and staying in that wing. Maybe he would like some company."

"We'll show up in what we are wearing now if you'll all do the same," Daphne said.

"Excellent!" Mr. Greengrass said. "Now let's eat."

Harry spent most of the dinner too worried about his table manners and not slurping his soup to worry about what came after. As dessert was served he commented to Daphne, "I don't know why you were impressed with my cooking if you eat like this at home."

"Well for one thing you're not a professional with decades of experience like the cooks we have here," Daphne replied. "I'm only an amateur food critic but aside from only cooking British meals I'd say you can cook as well as our kitchen staff. It's not as fancy as you'd get in an expensive restaurant but you aren't trying for that anyway."

Harry smiled at her, "Thanks, I really appreciate that."

"I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner Mr. Potter," Daphne's father said. He stood, "Now it's time for poker. If you three are still set on sharing a bedroom, come with us into the game room."

The other three parents stood as well. Mr. Davis said, "Even if you don't win at poker you'll have won the right to sleep wherever you want."

The three teens also stood, and Daphne said, "Let's go."

Once they were in the game room Mrs. Greengrass pointed towards the bar and said, "You are all old enough to have a drink so the bar is open to you. Just help yourselves."

Harry turned to Daphne, "Want me to get you anything?"

"Well I doubt there's any Newcastle Brown back there but you can look."

Ambrosius Greengrass chuckled, "No Newcastle but if you've developed a taste for brown ale then you might find Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale to your liking. The enchanted cool box is on your left under the bar Harry. There should be some bottles of it right out in front."

Harry, "I see them, thank you." He removed two bottles and gave one to Daphne, "I could probably use one to calm my nerves and I also have grown fond of brown ale since the quarantine."

"They stocked beer in the quarantine ward?" Tracey asked.

"The pantry was heavily enchanted and quite well stocked," Harry said. "If I didn't know it to be impossible then I would think it was creating what I asked for rather than supplying me from the kitchens or wherever." He asked, "Do you want to try it too?"

"I shouldn't," Tracey said. "My impulse control is bad as it is."

Gerard and Ambrosius each poured himself a generous glass of Macallan and Deirdre poured glasses of Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve champagne for her and Penelope.

Then they all sat down at a round table and Gerard Davis dealt the cards.

Tracey won the first hand but lost the second, "I wish I had thought to wear shoes." She stood and removed her dress, "I could remove my new ring instead but I'm not that much of a cheat."

Mr. Greengrass smiled and said, "But you are enough of one to wear two sets of underwear?"

"We both are," Daphne said. "Call it our Slytherin cunning."

"I like the style of both sets," Tracey's mum said. "Were they your creation or his?"

"Mine," Harry said. "Tracey picked the color, the rest was my imagination."

"I might ask you to conjure me a few," Mrs. Davis replied. "Assuming they don't fade or pop out of existence by the time we're done."

"I wore his conjured clothes during most of our stay in quarantine," Daphne said. "Even his temporary stuff lasts around twenty four hours."

"They provided alcohol but didn't provide clothes?" Mrs. Greengrass asked.

"They provided five sets of pajamas with no underwear for each of us. We were there for over two weeks," Daphne said. She made a disgusted face, "Also, the antidote we were taking made us sweat out the poison. It wasn't painful or dangerous but it caused two side effects. We were very thirsty and anything we touched was coated in poison."

Harry nodded, "I'm not sure why they enchanted the sheets and pillows to clean themselves but not the clothes but we went through all the provided clothing quickly."

"The clothes would be different for each person to accommodate different sizes but the sheets could be the same for anyone," Mr. Davis replied. "Or at least that's how it seems to me."

"That makes sense," Harry said. He dealt the next hand and the game continued. Since he was only wearing a robe and boxers Harry was out first.

"Well, I can see one other reason my daughter likes you," Mrs. Greengrass said.

"Please don't be crass mother," Daphne said. "Yes, I think he's handsome but the size of his endowment did not sway my decision."

"It's not crass darling," her mother answered. "It's simply one of those truths most people don't mention. Surely your own endowments are part of the reason he likes you?"

Daphne smirked, "Well yes, but I like to think I'm a little more evolved than that."

"Well, of course, it shouldn't be the only reason," Daphne's mother replied.

"He also seems intelligent and he has good taste and better manners than most men his age," Mrs. Davis said.

"Those along with power and wealth are what attracted me," Daphne said.

"And what about you, young Harry," Mr. Davis asked. "What attracted you to Daphne?"

Harry blushed as he answered, "Well she is intelligent, attractive, well educated and I like her sense of humor." He added, "She can also help steer me through this new culture. Although that's not a primary reason, it helps."

Mr. Greengrass smirked, "Did she tell you we were average? If so, she misled you. We're considered a bit eccentric."

"She did mention that but I hear the Potters were also considered eccentric so that balances out nicely," Harry said.

Mrs. Davis was the second person out, "Well, now that I am out of the running and so is Mr. Potter I hope I can convince him to conjure me a few pieces of lingerie." She stood and walked over to where he was sitting, "How about it, Mr. Potter?"

Harry blinked twice, "Sure, Mrs. Davis. Do you want the same as what I made for Tracey?"

"Yes, but only one set," Penelope Davis said. "And if your creative muse motivates you to try something different, feel free."

Harry just nodded and conjured a black thong, "Here's the first one."

Penelope Davis took it, smirked, turned away from Harry, then bent over before putting it on.

Harry had looked at Daphne when Mrs. Davis did that so he saw her quick grin. As he looked around the table he saw Deirdre Greengrass roll her eyes, looking remarkably like her daughter when she did that.

Deirdre said, "Stop trying to show off for the boy. You've got to be twice his age at least."

Ambrosius Greengrass said, "If you're going to dress you have to leave the room. You know the rules."

Penelope faked a look of surprise, "Oh, you're right. I guess I'll just have to take these off again." Of course she put on another show doing that then tucked the underwear into her handbag. "I still want the matching bra though."

Harry conjured it and passed it over, "Here. I Hope it fits."

"If not I can always adjust it," Penelope Davis replied. "I'd offer to let you do it but my dear friend Deirdre would scold me again." She put it into her handbag then went back to her seat.

Tracey was the third person out despite her extra underwear and left it piled on top of her dress next to Harry's clothes.

Daphne was out fifth, just after her mother and left her clothes mingled with those of Harry and Tracey.

After Ambrosius Greengrass won Daphne smiled and said, "Well none of us won the game but we did win the ability to allow all of us to share a room so I'm happy. I am also happy because both Harry and Tracey are letting me decide."

"Ah, the pleasure of being the dominant one in a relationship," Ambrosius Greengrass said. He grinned, "If you ever want to discuss it with me I'd be proud to share some advice."

Daphne blinked, blushed, then replied, "Thank you father but I doubt I will ever ask."

Ambrosius laughed, "Ah, the look on your face was worth being made to sleep on the couch."

After he won the game Ambrosius said, "We usually play billiards after poker. Do you know how to play?"

"No," Harry said. "I've seen it played but never learned how."

"We shall teach you then," Ambrosius Greengrass said with a smile. He stripped off his remaining clothes before they started.

Harry picked it up quickly and did fairly well.

Tracey was visibly distracted by both him and Daphne, especially when she bent over to shoot. The older players teased her about it.

Daphne was amused, "I've been sharing a room with you since before we hit puberty. I can't be that distracting."

"I disagree," Harry said.

Tracey nodded, "I think part of it is that you know that I'm looking and you don't mind. Not having to sneak peaks makes it harder not to look."

"I'll remember that next time I'm trying to convince either of you to do something," Daphne said.

Tracey groaned, "We're in for it now Harry. She'll have us doing anything she wants with just a shimmy and a pout."

"I'm her boyfriend," Harry said. "That's a pretty normal thing from what I can tell and if you're her best friend she hasn't had to work hard to get you to agree to much in the past either."

"Yes, but now she knows," Tracey said and blushed.

Harry laughed, "Worst case you get to see a lot more of her and maybe you do a few things you would have avoided but she's your friend she won't steer you too far wrong."

"I promise not to be too mean," Daphne said. Then she gave Tracey a hug.

"Take your conquests back to your room before you grope them," Ambrosius Greengrass said.

"That's a new rule," Penelope Davis said.

"Yes, but I agree with it," Mr. Davis said. "I think it's time for us to split into two groups."

"Don't you mean three?" Tracey asked.

"No, and you knew that already I'm sure," Penelope Davis said.

Tracey blushed but nodded, "Yes, and I think Daddy is right. We should get back to our room."

Daphne chuckled, "Fine, let's go then." She grabbed her wand and pointed it at the clothes they had taken off, "Finite Maximus!"

Tracey said, "I wanted to keep that dress."

"I'll make it up to you," Daphne said. "Come on, it won't be the first time we've walked back to our room naked."

Tracey laughed, "True enough, let's go see what Daphne has in store for us tonight Harry."

Harry smiled, "Sure, lead the way."

Once they left the room Tracey added a little extra sway to her hips as she led them back to Daphne's room.
