Chapter 3 The summer of change

5th July 1993, Privet Drive 4, Little Whinging, Surrey

Harry is looking back at what happened last Friday. He expected the worst summer ever, but his relatives only talked to give him chores. Hedwig was making a lot of noise and on Friday evening Vernon became mad. Reluctantly he would allow Hedwig outside it if his words shut the blood oversized pigeon up, but only at night.

Harry was happy and it seems Hedwig was happier about being able to fly not about the pigeon comment but she immediately stopped making a sound as it was almost sundown so the night was approaching. Vernon wasn't happy but he couldn't sleep the last few days.

Vernon also said the same night what made Harry's mood make a full 360 was that for his Birthday until the 8th of August Aunt Marge will visit. Vernon did not say his birthday but just said from the 31st of July until the 8th of August.

Harry knew if Aunt Marge comes that also Ripper will come and Ripper her dog hates Harry like he was trained to hate him. He remembers a couple of years ago he has chased up the tree and it was way past midnight before Aunt Marge called Ripper off.

It is late at night and Hedwig had left somewhere during the day. He hopes his Aunt or cousin hasn't seen him as Uncle Vernon was at his job so he couldn't have seen him.

Hedwig flies in with two letters. He grabs the letters before giving her a few owl treats as she happy nibs his finger after eating it. He looks at the letters and notices one is from Hermione and the other is from Ron which surprises him as Ron barely sends a letter home so why would he send a letter so soon to him.

He decides to read Ron's letter first.

Hey Harry,

My father won the Daily Prophet Grand Prize Galleon Draw. We are going to Egypt to visit Bill my oldest brother. He works there as a curse breaker. He works for Gringotts on the pyramids and graves of pharaohs or whatever.

I will leave on the 25th of July and I will return 27th of August. We can meet on the 28th of August in the Leaky Cauldron as we go for our school supplies then.

Harry sighs as that means he can't go to the Weasley's for a part of the summer. He looks at the other letter he gets from Hermione. He opens it.

Dear Harry,

I hope your summer has been good so far. I decide to not tell my parents about the chamber, the basilisk and more importantly being petrified for more than a month. I want to tell them but I am afraid of how they will react maybe I will tell them later or maybe I send them a letter when we are back at school.

I heard from Ronald that the Weasley's go to Egypt. I hope it helps Ginny with working through what happened last year. I can understand she will have a troubled summer. I hoped to talk to her to assure her I don't blame her. Maybe we need to do something for her. Isn't her Birthday somewhere in August?

I am sorry Harry but I can't take you away from the Dursleys as I am soon going on vacation with my parents to France and I won't be back until the 15th of August. Maybe I can ask my parents to get you after I have returned and we spend the last couple of days maybe a week at the Leaky Cauldron. I certainly need to as my parents travel to the states on the 26th of August but they leave early that day.

Harry sees that Hermione ends with love but doesn't think about it. He resigns himself he needs to stay with the Dursleys for most if not the whole summer.

10th July 1993, Greengrass Manor, South Glamorgan, Wales

Daphne finally can look past Ginny lying on Harry just when she was almost completely sure she loves him. Since the first year, she has been having this feeling. She knows it is love but she feels something beside it and it is getting stronger every day and only when she sees Harry while they were talking as friends where nobody saw then it will decline a bit. But the moment he walks away the feeling comes back even stronger. The last few times she saw Harry walk away with Neville and Hermione she barely kept herself back to hug him and never let him go again. Every time she sees Harry she wants to feel Harry holding her.

She wants to be with Harry although she knows as the primary Heiress of the ancient and most noble house of Greengrass she needs to continue House Greengrass. She learned enough from Harry that he grew up with muggles and that in the muggle world marriage to multiple women is against the law and certainly seen as unnatural. In the wizarding world especially in England (as in other traditional countries) it is required for someone like Harry's position. Besides Harry, there is only one other and that is Neville.

Neville seems nice although shy and he can be a good friend but her heart only belongs to Harry. Daphne is looking in her family's library when her eyes are drawn to a book she never has opened before. She grabs the book. She brushes the dust off and sees the title. The book is called: bonds of a forgotten era.

It is an old book. She knows this is the book she needs and immediately starts reading it.

14th July 1993, Bones Manor (The ossuary), Berkshire

It is after dinner when Susan for the first time since she came back can talk to her Aunt. Susan has two questions. One is more important to her and that is if her Aunt as her guardian can send a letter to Harry's guardian to talk about the marriage contract her parents and Harry's parents signed before both were killed.

The second question was why her Aunt didn't come to Hogwarts while students were attacked by the monster from the chamber of secrets from Salazar Slytherin.

She walks to her Aunt's office as long as her Aunt is her guardian and Regent Bones. She knocks when she hears her Aunt says enter.

Amelia says "Susan you know you don't have to knock unless when I have a guest. This is your office as Lady Bones after all although you aren't yet."

Susan says timidly "I know Aunt Amelia, but I didn't want to disturb you."

Amelia smiles as she remembers Susan's mother was also timid when her brother correct her on her behaviour although it was always she needed to be more confident.

Amelia says "alright Susan. I want to apologize that I didn't have time after you got off the train. There had been some important cases and I tried successfully I may add to keep Arthur Weasley's Muggle Protection Act from being abolished although barely."

"Now is there something you want to talk about?"

Susan sees that her Aunt is a bit tired but she doesn't want to wait longer.

Susan says "Auntie I have two things I want to ask."

Amelia says that she still is a bit timid but thinks that she will be more confident in the coming years or at least hopes so until Harry Potter comes to finalize the contract. As Susan is then officially betrothed Amelia thinks that she becomes more confident as she has her husband with her most of the time although Amelia thinks she will still be timid with Harry just the two of them and maybe if Harry isn't near to others.

Amelia nods so Susan continues.

Susan says "Auntie I want to talk with Harry and his guardian to finalize the contract. I don't want to wait any longer. After everything I heard and seeing the girls that have their eyes on him, I want to be first with him. I know I won't become Lady Potter but I want him to become my Lord Bones."

Amelia as this was the most confident and convinced she had ever seen her ….. well besides he being convinced she was a Hufflepuff like her parents and her (Amelia) before her.

Amelia says "Susie I don't know if that is wise. You have only been 13 for a few months and I mean he isn't even 13 yet. I think we can better wait a year or two maybe after his OWL's is even better. Also Dumbledore his guardian has clearly stated that he doesn't want to discuss it until much later."

Susan almost screams for the first time ever "I don't care I want to at least let Harry know we are betrothed."

Amelia says "how about this? If I get a chance to talk with Harry or his guardian I will bring up the contract and have a meeting unless I manage to get the meeting here. How is that?"

Susan isn't happy and says "fine, but if it doesn't happen fast I will tell him. I want him to know. After last year I need him to know."

Amelia asks "what do you mean last year?"

Susan says "that is the second thing I wanted to ask you, Auntie. Why didn't you come to Hogwarts?"

Amelia asks confused "why?"

Susan says "I send you a letter that students were attacked and petrified although it was all muggleborns. I know I am a pureblood but still, the monster out of the chamber of secrets from Salazar Slytherin was on the loose."

Amelia jumps and says "what? And nobody told me. I didn't get a letter after the first one in October I thought you were just busy. Why didn't you tell me during Christmas or Easter?"

Susan says timidly "I thought you were gathering information so you could enter Hogwarts without Dumbledore being able to refuse you entrance by law. The headmaster can refuse you entrance if he deems necessary unless your child or ward was in danger or needs you or when the students are in danger."

Amelia says "I wasn't although I was busy with other things. This is one of the many reasons I don't trust Dumbledore. Please Susie tell me everything!"

Susan starts talking and tells her everything she knew what wasn't much although she also told her aunt the rumours and gossip although she said that most she knows is rumours or gossip.

29th July 1993, Privet drive 4, Little Whinging, Surrey

Harry says "Uncle Vernon, I need you to sign this form."

Uncle Vernon asks "what is it?"

Harry says "nothing. Something for school...

Uncle Vernon looks suspiciously and says "later perhaps. If you behave. And certainly, behave when Marge stays here I don't want any of your unnaturalness, you freak. Don't forget you go not to Hogwass but too….."

Harry interrupts Uncle Vernon and says "it's Hogwarts and well, it'll be hard work, pretending to Aunt Marge I got to that St Whatsits….."

Uncle Vernon interrupts Harry this time and says "St Brutus's Secure Centre for Incurably Criminal Boys!"

Harry immediately says "exactly. It's a lot to remember. I'll have to make it sound convincing, won't I? What if I accidentally let something slip?"

Uncle Vernon almost growls as he says "you'll get the stuffing knocked out of you, won't you?"

Harry thinks what is the difference then the beatings I got them a couple of times last three weeks when Vernon saw Hedwig leave in the day once but that isn't her fault. She likes to fly I would let her fly in front of Uncle Vernon if that would please her. I am just not strong enough to protect myself but I won't let Uncle Vernon hurt her. Other times were when Uncle Vernon had a bad day because of some bad news or something that happened at work.

29th July 1993, Azkaban, North Sea

Sirius is unbelievably looking at the newspaper Fudge came here earlier this day when he came by for his usually yearly visit to Azkaban like every minister does. Fudge was 'nice' enough to give him the paper when Sirius got Fudge's attention, but if you shout at him from barely a foot away it was difficult not to notice.

Sirius stared at the front page with the Weasley family and their rat. Sirius didn't notice Fudge and the guards leaving until the disgusting food was in his cell for him to eat. Sirius looks at the food but doesn't eat it and watches the picture again. He is sure of it, that rat is the traitor, it is Wormtail. The Weasley's may call it Scabbers but Sirius recognizes Wormtail everywhere.

3rd August 1993, Azkaban, North Sea

It is time. It is late at night the last human guard until tomorrow morning has just passed. Sirius turns into his Grimm form and hopes he is thin enough to get out. He hasn't eaten anything the last few days and he was thin to start with after so many years in Azkaban. He hasn't eaten every day as eating the 'food' every day was just as bad as having the Dementors near you for every hour of every week if not worse.

In his dog form, he can put his head through and looks around. He doesn't see a Dementor or human guard. He feels that at least a Dementor is close but as they have no eyes and can barely feel animal emotions he is at an advantage he hopes. If they catch him out of his cell he will surely get the Dementor kiss.

He walks between the bars of his cell. He hears Bellatrix cry and walks to her cell. He whines lowly of sadness. Right before he wants to turn to get out he hears her saying "no please no. Rodolphus please I am sorry, please spare her. Please spare my baby. No Rabastan, please. Master, please save her. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh …. NO."

Bellatrix is really crying now. Sirius hears with his heightened senses after a few minutes Bellatrix muttering without stuttering "my baby. Why? I did my best to protect her, why did they make me miscarry? I did everything they want even taking the dark mark convincing myself to want it as it doesn't work otherwise."

Sirius is filled with anger. For a moment he doesn't care if he gets kissed until he remembers he needs to save Harry from the rat and be his godfather although the Tonkses will be taken good care of him. Andi loves Harry, she dots on him as much as Lily not to mention Dora loves Harry always making him laugh with her Metamorphmagus skill including not wanting to leave him many times after she played with him when she needed to go home.

Bellatrix starts crying again and he feels her agony. Sirius needs to be quick before the Dementors come by again, but with Bellatrix's pain, he needs to do something before Harry as after he is done Harry will be his first and most important priority especially until he is cleared.

He walks past the cells and stops a few cells away from his own. He looks in the cell and smiles as much as a dog can smile. He managed to get into the cell through the bars. He feels the cold closing in. He walks to the occupant of the cell and before he notices Sirius biting him in his neck ripping his throat and mauling him wherever he can before he dies to let him feel pain like he did to muggles, muggleborns and others he killed. The occupant dies soon just before the Dementors come by.

As the Dementors feel only the dog but think that the prisoner is losing his mind. When the two Dementors stop at Sirius's cell they think he died as in the last few days in his sleep he has been muttering and the Dementors felt him losing his mind ….at least that is what they thought. They don't care about the dead so they keep moving.

After Sirius feels the unnatural cold and therefore the Dementors move on he walks back out of the cell between the bars. In the next cell, he walks in again. He turns out of his dog form and says "well hello Lestrange."

Rodolphus opens his eyes and jumps up. He says incredible "how can you be here?"

Sirius says "that is a trade secret but you will soon know although it will be the last thing you will know."

Rodolphus smiles "really with all that blood. You are hurt and you cannot take me regardless."

Sirius smiles before he says "oh this blood. Well, it isn't my blood but I think you know who it is after all you have the same blood."

Rodolphus looks confused, not knowing what Sirius means. He says "oh it seems I was as quiet as I wanted to be. If I say that it is from the cell next to us, I think you know who it is although he isn't alive anymore."

Rodolphus thinks for only a second when he growls and shouts "you killed my brother. I am going to kill you for that."

Sirius smiles and says "don't worry you will see your brother soon. I don't want to keep you apart for too long we both know you can't stay apart for too long. I will make sure you see him soon."

Before Rodolphus can respond Sirius turns in the Grimm, his dog form and jumps at him. As Sirius is large and heavy in his dog form, Rodolphus weaken by the bad food and Azkaban can't keep himself up and falls to the ground hurting him. Before he can even try to get Sirius off him Sirius starts biting his neck until he can also rip his throat out before mauling him just like his brother also before he dies to punish him just like his brother. When Rodolphus finally stops moving Sirius does one thing he didn't do to Rabastan and that is ripping his hand where normally the Lord ring and wedding ring are located off his arm. He ends with what he also did to Rabastan and that is ripping the dicks off their bodies. The dick that raped Bellatrix but also many underage girls and women as that is normal for Death Eaters especially to get the Dark Mark while torturing and killing them after raping them.

When Sirius is sure he did what he could to punish them mostly for hurting, tormenting and traumatising Bellatrix by destroying her biggest wish to become a 'better' mother than hers and mine. He walks out and while he sees many Death Eaters that deserves to die if he going to kill anyone else there is no way of his death they know he did it and maybe take it out on Bellatrix or portray him as a deranged serial killer who killed of the failed followers of his master if he must believe the Aurors who talked to him and were disgusted with him for betraying James and Lily to Voldemort as his right-hand man while he was an Auror while training the become a hit wizard.

He gets as soon as he can to find an exit. He managed to leave the high density of Dementors. On every floor, he feels the Dementors less although he needs to slip into a cell everyone now and then to evade the Dementors. It seems in his animal form the Dementors don't sense him as prisoners in the cell probably masked him being in the cell even though they were asleep. Sirius is sure it only works in the lower security cells and not in the more security cell as everyone there is weakened and not strong enough to mask his presence in the cells.

Finally, he is near the entrance of Azkaban where Dementors aren't allowed except when a prisoner is getting brought or is moved to the ministry for a trial. You can barely feel them here. He manages to sneak out but as he can't use the ferry especially without his wand and without drawing attention he jumps in the water and swims in his dog form to the shore washing his blood off him in the process.

It looks like an eternity until he finally sees the shore. He makes sure he goes ashore where he doesn't see light in either direction especially as light is probably the ferry with at least two Aurors stationed at it. The swim has drained his power and when he is ashore from exhaustion he turns back to his normal human form, not being able to keep his Animagus form up. As soon as he can move he starts going land inwards before the sunrise to make sure his escape is successful. As he is the first that ever managed he doesn't know what the Auror will do but he knows he will search the shoreline to find the point where he escaped and in this case went ashore before trying to find clues where he is going.

Sirius tries to think about where Andi lived and hopes she still lives there so he can see Harry. Andi will listen to him maybe reluctantly but she will. He only wants to go there as she as mediwitch besides lawwitch can help with his medical issue from prolonged Dementor exposure, malnourishment, weakened state and any mental issues that may arise like many nightmares he is sure he will have. However, the most important part and wouldn't go to her if he isn't there is Harry.

As he doesn't remember where Andi lived and the chance she has moved with Ted and Dora of course he starts to gather his magic and focus on Harry. His magic starts guiding him to his target, his godson Harry Potter.

6th August 1993, Little Whinging, Surrey

Harry has done it now. He rushes upstairs and opens the window and opens Hedwig's cage. He says "go, girl. I don't know where I am going yet but as soon as I can I will let you know."

Hedwig hoots softly and nibs his finger. She sits in the window frame. She turns around and hoots before the black lightning bolt appears on her stomach and a thin black line around her eyes. Harry sees this and wonders as he hasn't looked for her mark on my body at least according to Athena where and what the mark he has looks like. He never had the time in the morning when he took a shower as if he took the long Aunt Petunia would drag him out of it and he is never allowed to use warm water for the chance he used too much and Dudley and Vernon didn't have warm water to use.

He grabs his things throw them in his trunk before, grabs the things he hides under the loose floorboard and also throwing them in his trunk. He closes it and grabs the empty cage and drags it downstairs.

Just as he is downstairs Uncle Vernon runs to him. It is the first time he has seen Uncle Vernon run. If he is after Harry and he runs Vernon just send Dudley after him.

Uncle Vernon screams "YOU BRING HER BACK! YOU BRING HER BACK AND PUT HER RIGHT!"

Harry doesn't care anymore and says loudly "no! She deserved what she got! And you... you keep away from me."

Harry draws his wand and while Vernon is afraid and nervous. Vernon manages to say without stuttering "you're not allowed to do magic out of school. They won't have you now. You've got nowhere to go."

Harry falters for a second as he realizes Uncle Vernon is right. The Weasley's aren't home and Hermione is also away. He also has no way of going to their house even if they were home. The Leaky Cauldron is all the way in London and there is no bus or subway nearby to get him to London.

He wished he have his broom but he kept it at Hogwarts as Professor McGonagall bought it for him probably with Hogwarts money and also he is sure his relatives would break it just to spite him. That is not to mention the broom is larger than him and they barely tolerate him. They sure don't want anything larger than him inside the house. The broom also doesn't fit in the cupboard and they surely wouldn't let it keep it in his room so breaking it and making it useless is the most likely outcome.

Harry says "anywhere's better than here."

Harry keeps his wand out and drags his trunk with the cage on top of him to the door. He opens the door and drags his trunk and cage out before he slams the door. He put his wand away when he looks up. He can't suppress a smile seeing the large dot being Aunt Marge flying higher and further away while he can still hear her screams.

He walks on Magnolia Crescent a few blocks away from Privet Drive. Suddenly Harry hears §Master§

Harry looks at the way he heard and sees a snake coming out of a nearby alley. The snake almost looks happy before coming closer §Master. I am happy to find Master. I was afraid when I felt Master's pain. I came as soon as I could without being seen§

Harry asks unbelievably in Parseltongue §Athena?§

The snake nods and says §yes Master I am Athena§

Harry doesn't know what to do. He thinks and finally asks §are you fully healed?§

Athena shakes her head and says §no Master, but I felt you getting hurt. I just needed to help even if took almost two weeks before I found your Master§

Harry knows what Athena felt as Hedwig also did as Hedwig was very affectionate in the days after as when he made her mad she didn't nib him and draw blood she just ignored him….. well until he was fully healed.

Harry says §Athena you should have stayed at Hogwarts to rest and train this form of you§

Athena says §no Master as your familiar we need to be with you and protect you if possible. I also don't need to train anymore as I have been able to keep this form after my wounds were healed even when I slept although it takes some concertation. I am sure it would take almost no concertation when I am with Master as it is the magic that makes me change§

Harry asks §so you want to go with me?§

Athena nods her head. Harry sighs before he says §fine, Athena. But don't attack anyone only if I say you can or if you are in danger. But if you are in danger of getting hurt don't kill the attacker but disable the attacker. Do you know how long you are?§

Athena almost nod very happily as she says §I am not very long Master as I am also younger§

Harry asks §can you show yourself completely?§

Athena slithers forward until Harry sees her completely. He says §I think you are about 1 ½ maybe 2 feet long. Well, come along I guess§

Athena nods and before Harry notices, Athena slithers to him and slithers up his leg before going under the large shirt and to his left arms. Athena warps herself gently but firmly around his left arm and has her head on his shoulder.

Athena sis §this feels good Master, being so close to Master§

Harry says §alright. When you are good Athena we go. I have however no idea where to go.§

Athena sis §I am good Master. I don't care as long as I am with Master I am okay. Where is owl Hedwig?§

Harry says §she is around somewhere. I let her fly and will find her when I find a place to stay.§

Harry doesn't know that Hedwig is flying high above him and follows him until he finds a place.

Harry walks until he reaches the playground. He put down his trunk and sits on the ground. The street light above him begins to flicker before it stops. He thinks about where to go and still thinks the Leaky Cauldron is the best choice but even if he gets a bus or the subway he doesn't know how to get to the Leaky Cauldron and he also doesn't have muggle money.

Harry knows if he has muggle money and he Dursley's found they take it from him and even beat him until he gets more. The trust vault is his thanks to his parents the Dursleys don't deserve even one penny because of how they treated him.

He looks at the empty play equipment before he senses something in the shadows across the street from him. He looks where he senses something and sees two yellow eyes. From the bushes comes something big. Darker than the shadows which conceal it. He immediately notices that it is a big black dog. Harry draws his wand. Athena notices it and removes her head from Harry's shoulder and stares at the big dog and is ready to attack if the dog attacks her master.

The dog whines before it barks. The dark is running at him, but before Athena can attack or Harry can take a step one word enters his mind. He says "Padfoot?"

The dog stops and gave a small happy bark. Harry feels that Athena is still ready to attack, but as the dog is out of her reach she doesn't attack. Harry says §Athena, don't attack the dog. I don't know how but I know him§

Athena doesn't want to but her master orders her to not attack so she will not. To show she complies she lies her head back on his shoulder but keeps her eyes open to make sure the dog doesn't try something.

Harry puts his wand away and sits back. The dog runs to Harry and pushes him down. Athena wants to attack but her Master told her not to. Her fear disappears when she sees the dog licking Harry's face. In the quiet night, you hear a hoot and Hedwig lands beside Harry and she hoots something.

Harry says "I don't know Hedwig but Padfoot was the first thing that came to my mind. Also, it feels like I know this dog."

The dog stops and gently grabs his large shirt to drag him along. Harry says "easy boy. I will follow just let me grab my trunk and the cage. Hedwig do you want to fly?"

Harry asks himself why he even asks as Hedwig hoots and starts flying staying close to Harry while Harry follows the dog. Harry feels that both Athena and Hedwig don't trust the dog but feel at ease because Harry is at ease and Harry feels even happy.

They walk back towards Privet drive and even before he sees the street Harry says "Padfoot, I don't know why you are heading that way but I am not going back."

Padfoot looks at him and sees that Padfoot doesn't understand. Padfoot barks but doesn't continue. He walks past Harry and starts walking away from Privet Drive. This time Harry happily follows.

It took almost 20 minutes later before they reach a big park. Padfoot keeps walking deeper in until they reach the bench the furthest in the park. When they reach the bench Padfoot sits in front of it. Harry decides to sit on the bench. When Harry sits Hedwig lands on the back of the bench. Harry sees Padfoot watching side to side before he looks back.

Harry is surprised when where Padfoot was before is suddenly a man. Harry wants to draw his wand but somehow he remembers this man but still the only word he remembers is Padfoot.

He is only surprised as he only knew Professor McGonagall could change into an animal. He remembers Daphne calling her an Animagus which Hermione agreed as she found a book where it was mentioned in the library. It was weird as Hermione said it was only mentioned and not how to become one, there was no book in the library of Hogwarts that explained it.

Padfoot says "hello Harry. I don't think you know me but I am Sirius Black and I am your godfather."

Harry looks at the large smile, but Harry is not happy. If he is his godfather where has he been?

Harry asks "how do you know me and if you are my godfather then where have you been?"

Sirius sighs and says "I can't believe Andi didn't tell you about me even if she doesn't believe me. I thought she would have at least mentioned me even if she didn't tell you I am your godfather."

Sirius waits a minute before he continues "have you never asked Andi about your parents and what has happened or how they were in the school days?"

Harry says "I am not allowed to ask about my parents or talk about school. Who is Andi?"

Sirius looks surprised and says "who is Andi? Andi or her whole name Andromeda is your guardian as I was unavailable. You should live with her, her husband Ted and your cousin Nymphadora or like you said Nymfie only you allowed to call her that or sometimes Dora when you heard one of us call her that."

Harry says "she isn't. Dumbledore is my guardian and I live with my muggle relatives. Aunt Petunia my mother's sister, Uncle Vernon and my cousin Dudley."

Sirius wants to scream but he needs to know more.

Sirius asks "why?"

Harry shrugs and says "I don't know. I have been there for as long as I can remember. Dumbledore says that I need to return there every summer even though I asked to stay at Hogwarts after my first year and after last year. Dumbledore doesn't let me. I think he is my guardian."

Sirius says "you aren't allowed to stay with your relatives. Your parents wouldn't let him be your guardian or your muggle relatives be your guardian. It even went that far that your mother in the combining Will of your parents forbade to let Petunia and Vermin even meet you and let stand you stay with them. Dumbledore knows this as he invited himself when the Will was drafted and signed. The goblins made an exception and the will was drafted and signed in your parents' house instead of in Gringotts."

Sirius thinks for a minute before he says "yes, Andi was the first available on the list who would be your guardian to my knowledge."

Harry says "my relatives don't like my mother and father as I didn't even know I was a wizard until Hagrid come on my 11th birthday to deliver the letter from Hogwarts as Uncle Vernon burned all the letters that were brought by the owls."

Sirius asks "do you know how your parents died?"

Harry nods and says "I only know it from Hagrid. My relatives told me my father and mother died in a car accident. Hagrid told me they were murdered by Voldemort."

Harry smiles on the inside when Sirius doesn't react although he does quickly glances around them and sighs when he doesn't see anyone.

Sirius asks "why are you out this late Harry?"

Harry says "I kind of accidentally blew up Aunt Marge, Uncle Vernon's sister when she badmouthed my mother after my father. Now she is floating somewhere in the sky."

Sirius is relieved he didn't kill his Aunt Marge although he would probably have if he heard what she said. Sirius doesn't hate muggles but he hates those kinds of muggles although if she was a witch or wizard he also hates her. She is too much like the Malfoys in Sirius's mind at least when he met Malfoy before going to Azkaban.

As Malfoy didn't end up in Azkaban he is almost sure that Malfoy hasn't changed. That means they are still Death Eaters, believe in Pureblood supremacy, bribing wizengamot members and if needed ministry employees, threatening people as last resort and probably the worst still has Narcissa as wife while Narcissa deserves someone who really loves her. There is the rumour Narcissa isn't Draco Malfoy's mother but Sirius doesn't know if that is true although all Blacks have the dominant black hair trait. Narcissa suddenly had blond hair as does Lucius Malfoy and his son Draco also.

The Black hair trait was almost one of the most obvious signs that someone is from the Black family. Harry is also from House Black but he doesn't get his Black Harry from his father and grandmother. Harry likes James who looks like Charlus who looks like Fleamont who looks like Charles and so on until the very start of House Potter. Most of the men look like their father and grandfather although Harry has his mother's green eyes. Sirius doesn't know if Harry's grandfather had his mother's eyes but James and Harry do.

Sirius asks "Harry did you have a place to go too?"

Harry shakes his head before saying "not really my closest friends are on vacation. I have other friends but I don't know where they live and have no way to move around. My best idea is the Leaky Cauldron but I need to wait to get on the muggle subway I guess. That is also a problem as I don't have muggle money."

Sirius looks at Harry's right hand and what he suspected when he learned he lives with his relatives becomes true. Harry should be able to wear the Heir ring of House Potter. As he is the last one left (or at least the only Heir) he should wear the Heir ring which also gives him access to the properties House Potter has and he can choose one to live in.

Sirius hopes Harry trusts him as he doesn't want to go to Black Manor in London and he doesn't know about the other properties of House Black as he moved out of Black Manor before his father told him about the others.

Sirius wants to go to Gringotts with Harry to get his Heir ring. Sirius needs Lord Black to attend to some matters but he doesn't know if the Goblins allow him to attend to those matters or in the worst case capture him and return him to the ministry or keep him as a prisoner of the Goblin Nation. He will take his chances as Harry being Heir Potter is very important and gives him more rights. If Sirius is captured Harry can stay in the Leaky Cauldron and with limited access to the Potter Family Vault he can learn his place he obviously knows nothing about. Sirius doesn't need to ask Harry to see that. Sirius doesn't like Pureblood society and politics, but Harry needs to know as he eventually is a part of it especially if he like the previous Lord Potter wants to change wizarding Britain for the better. Harry needs to play a Pureblood Heir and if he is even a little bit of James he will hate it. True James' parents also didn't like the politics but knew that it was the best way to push Wizarding Britain to the 20th century and help the muggleborns be treated equally, help werewolves and other half-breeds but also part humans like Hagrid who is a half-giant.

Sirius knows Harry can take the Knight Bus but not with Sirius no matter if Sirius is like he is now or in his dog form. Although he wonders if Harry can even use it with his owl let stand the snake on his arm as the night bus is only for wizards and witches.

Sirius is still too weak to apparate and certainly not strong enough to take Harry with him to side apparate. Sirius knows this is useless but he can't think of anything else than to walk to London.

Sirius asks "I suppose you haven't got a house-elf do you?"

Harry says "not really …. but I have a house-elf who may want to help."

Sirius asks surprised "really? How?"

Harry says "well it is a long story but long story short I tricked his former master to free him."

Sirius asks "so he is your house-elf?"

Harry shakes his head "no, he is a free elf."

Sirius immediately asks "do you mean he is not bonded?"

Harry is considering it before saying "I guess not."

Sirius says "Harry, house-elves needed to be bonded to a wizard or the family or they die."

Harry asks surprised "really?"

Sirius says "yes, if James and Lily still lived they will have told you. House-elves feed of their master or a magical House as they need magic to live beside the basic necessities as food."

Harry says shocked "Dobby."

Dobby pops in and says "the great wizard Harry Potter Sir calls for Dobby. Dobby is so happy the great wizard Harry Potter sir did. What can Dobby do for the great wizard Harry Potter sir?"

Harry is happy Dobby still is alive. Harry asks "Dobby are you alright?"

Dobby has tears in his eyes and launches himself at Harry's leg as he hugs it. Dobby says "the great wizard Harry Potter is so good to Dobby. Dobby is feeling good being away from bad masters."

Harry asks "are you sure Dobby. My godfather, Sirius Black says that house-elves die if they are not bonded to a wizard or magical House whatever that may mean."

Dobby nods and says "the great wizard Harry Potter godfather is right. If Dobby doesn't bond Dobby will slowly die. Dobby can work at Hogwarts as the magic inside Hogwarts can prevent Dobby from dying quickly but eventually, Dobby needs a wizard of House to serve or Dobby will die."

Harry says without thinking about it "can I help you Dobby?"

Dobby against has tears in his eyes and hugs Harry's leg as he was still holding it and says "the great wizard Harry Potter sir can if he bonds Dobby to the great wizard Harry Potter sir and the most ancient and most noble House of Potter."

Harry looks at Sirius. Sirius says "I mean Houses like that. Many Houses like yours and mine have magic that the house-elves can also feed on. The magic doesn't disappear as the magic just like with wizards and witches will refill. Most wizards and witches don't even feel the house-elves feeding on their magic especially not strong ones."

Sirius sees Harry not responding and says "Harry if you want to save Dobby, bond him to you as most other families wouldn't take him as the previous Master released him even if you tricked him. Being free is seen by most elves as the biggest disgrace as they are seen as bad elves and not being good enough elves to serve. As they are freed it isn't uncommon for them to kill themselves or go crazy in a matter of days. I must say Dobby is different. Dobby who was your old master?"

Dobby looks at Harry. Harry doesn't know why but nods to nudge him forward that it is alright. Dobby however sees that he is allowed to answer.

Dobby says "the great wizard Harry Potter's godfather Dobby old bad Masters were the Most Noble House of Malfoy."

Sirius can't control laughing as Harry has tricked Lucius Malfoy and succeeded. The laugh made Harry happy as it triggered a happy memory as he sees a younger-looking Sirius laughing and playing with him and another man he has never seen before.

Sirius knows there is only one place to go. He had hoped that Andi will let him stay but as Harry doesn't stay there it would be weird to go there especially as Sirius wants to know more about Harry and with a doting Andi on Harry, it will be difficult to have that not mentioned he will be stunned and tied the moment she sees him and that will be the best outcome.

Sirius says "Harry I think you need to bond Dobby."

Harry looks confused and asks "how?"

Sirius says "there are different ways but I think you like this one as the former Potters used but first put your wand hand on Dobby's head."

Harry doesn't think about having other house-elves and asks Sirius what to say. Sirius tells him and Harry makes sure he remembers it.

Harry puts his wand hand on Dobby's head before he says "I, Harry James Potter bound thee Dobby the house-elf by mother magic to become the house-elf of I, Harry James Potter and of the most ancient and most noble house of Potter to serve the family and become my family."

Dobby has tears of happiness in his eyes as he manages to say "Dobby the house-elf accept Master Harry's wonderful offer to serve the great wizard Master Harry and Master Harry's house."

A light that lights up the whole park for a solid minute. Harry hopes that the residents from the houses closest to the park were asleep or at least didn't notice the light. Harry didn't hear cars nor past any on the walk here so he thinks no one awake on the outside has seen the light.

Sirius smiles as the light shows that it is a strong bond for Harry's age as he has never seen such a strong bond with someone underage. It shows that Harry is a strong wizard although Sirius knows Harry is when he thinks back.

He remembers when Harry was almost a year old. Lily worked in St. Mungo s for her healer education. He was with Remus and James looking after Harry. Suddenly they hear a small pop and Harry was gone. We searched the whole house and while we were afraid for Harry's safety we were also afraid of Lily who was very protective of Harry although they were too, the mother instinct of Lily was very scary.

Just when we would leave to search around a floo call came and it was Lily. Apparently, Harry wanted Lily as he apparates to Lily's arms inside St. Mungo's. Apparate at nearly a year old is unheard of and even apparating into St. Mungo's where Lily was should be impossible.

Sirius looks at Harry and says "I think we need to go Harry. Dobby can you bring us to the park in London called Grimmauld square?"

Dobby says "if Master Harry wants to Dobby can bring Master Harry, Master Harry's godfather, Master Harry's trunk, cage and Master Harry's owl and snake."

Harry asks "are you sure Padfoot?"

Sirius says "Harry, I can't think of anything else. I don't like the place and everyone knows that. They will never think I will be there and the wards on the house will also protect us."

Harry thinks but then says "if you are sure then it is alright. Dobby if you please."

Dobby nods. He snaps his finger and the trunk and cage disappear before he holds his hand out. Hedwig lands on Harry's right shoulder. Dobby sees that Sirius, Harry, Athena and Hedwig are connected to him one way or another and pop out.

6th August 1993, near midnight, Rome, Italy

Dumbledore sits in his office for the Supreme Mugwump and also the English delegation he is the only member of. Suddenly Fawkes flame in with a letter in his claws. There is a perch and Fawkes takes place on it.

Dumbledore opens the letter and reads:

Albus Dumbledore,

It has come to our attention that your ward Harry Potter has used an Inflatus jinx on one Marge Dursley, that is the sister of his muggle uncle Vernon Dursley. Marge Dursley has been found circling a chimney in Sheffield. She has been punctured and he memories modified. The memories show that Harry Potter has done it without his wand or saying it. We do not want to punish him for the accidental magic it shows. I do want to talk to Harry Potter regarding this evening.

Minister Fudge has sent me to let you know and request a meeting before Hogwarts start again. As Sirius Black as you know is on the loose Minister Fudge thought it would be better if I, as the director of DMLE talked with him about it as I can protect Harry if Sirius decides to attack. Fudge claims he can too but we both know that is not true.

As you are his Guardian I hope you can allow us to talk. If wanted then you can be present. I do know that your ICW business keeps you away from England until the 28th of August. I would like to talk before that and want to talk to Harry Potter as quickly as possible. Is it possible to have someone you trust to act as your representative and act as his guardian for this meeting?

Dumbledore knows that letting Harry go to talk to Amelia Bones is a great risk as Amelia doesn't trust him enough to follow him mindlessly or listen to him without objections like others.

Dumbledore thinks 'should I do this? Also, do I need to bond his magic again? All those bonds on his magic in his youth and then after the Troll. Now he does this. He becomes more of pain in my arse than he is worth, but I need him for when Tom comes back.'

Dumbledore thinks about who the best choice is and he can only think of one who would follow his orders although she thinks is it more his preference and she will agree. Professor McGonagall will do it. She also can as she is his head of house as head of house Gryffindor. She listened to him the last two years about Harry so why would she don't do it now.

He writes two letters the first one is for Professor McGonagall.

Dear Minerva,

It seems Harry had a little problem at his home that drew the attention of Minister Fudge. With Sirius Black on the loose Amelia Bones needs to talk to Harry about the little problem. As I am with the ICW until the 28th of August and can't leave earlier I would hope you can take Harry to talk to Amelia Bones. I think it would be best to keep Amelia's question to the incident that happened at his home.

I would suggest you make sure of that and that any other questions don't need to be answered. If she has any questions, not of that she can send me those questions and answer what I can.

I will send her a letter that she needs to contact you for when. She wants to do it soon.

Dumbledore places it in an envelope before grabbing another parchment to respond to Amelia. Dumbledore starts writing.

Dear Amelia,

I understand with Sirius Black on the loose that you want to talk to Harry. While I don't find it needed if you think it would be wise and you need to know I will allow it as it is still magic outside of school which is against the law.

As I can't leave I asked Professor McGonagall if she can be present instead of me and as my representative. If anything else comes up that isn't related to the incident I would be happy to answer them when I get back to England. I hope you can wait for that also as I want to know how the search for Sirius Black is conducted and if there has been any evidence.

I think we can talk after the Wizengamot meeting on the 29th of August.

Dumbledore never uses the Guardian of Harry Potter but he tries to let her not forget what he wants as Harry's guardian she needs to try to follow his request not that he doesn't trust Professor McGonagall but he just wants to make sure he doesn't lose Harry to Amelia or her niece Susan Bones. Harry is starting to notice girls without a doubt in the coming years and if Susan takes after her mother he will surely notice her and he can't have that. Ginevra is the only one good for him as Molly will follow my orders without objection and she can keep Arthur and Harry in line. Hopefully, Ginevra will follow her mother in following me as she will be the best to keep Harry in line.

6th August 1993, Grimmauld Square, London

Dobby has popped Sirius, Harry, Athena and Hedwig into a park. Harry has never been here before. Sirius sighs before he says "follow me."

Soon they reach a metal fence with a small gate. The gate is open and Sirius makes sure nobody is outside as he stands between the numbers 11 and 13. Harry notices number 12 is missing but doesn't comment on that.

Sirius says "Harry can I use your wand for a moment?"

Harry nods and gave him his wand. Sirius points it at the place between numbers 11 and 13 and waves the wand a few times before giving it back to Harry. Harry looks almost confused until his face turned into amazement as numbers 11 and 13 starts moving and in between number 12 appears after almost 2 minutes of number 11 and 13 moving, although the muggles don't seem to notice.

They walk towards the door. Sirius touches it and the door glows quickly before it disappears. Sirius opens the door and Harry follows with Dobby and Dobby levitating the trunk and owl cage.

Sirius immediately thinks 'except there is a lot of dust it is the same. A very grim, old, mouldy and miserable house just like when he left. Maybe I am lucky and Kreacher died.'

Sirius says "welcome to my childhood home Black Manor in London. I lived here with my ….. uuuuhhhh loving family until I was sixteen. Then I ran away from home to my best friend Harry your father and grandparents. They let me stay with them until I had my own place after Hogwarts. It was when your father and I were Aurors trainees and later hit-wizard trainees. Your father lived with your mother at the manor I don't remember where the manor is somehow. They stayed at the manor until they needed to move because of Voldemort."

The door closes behind them and they walk towards the kitchen. Just a few feet before the kitchen is the staircase and they suddenly hear a scream.

The scream screams "what are you doing here? Dishonourable, disgraced and disinherited son of the most ancient and most noble house of Black. You filthy mudblood lover. And he is from the mudblood lover Potter House, isn't he? What is he doing here? Filthy half-blood. How dare you befoul the house of my fathers…."

Sirius sees the curtains at the side of the portrait and closes them.

Sirius smiled at Harry and says "Harry, that was my lovely mother Walburga Black. Harry, now you've seen and met my mother. She is dead. I had the feeling she was but the closed door and the portrait made it sure she is thankful."

Harry looks confused and wants to ask if he wasn't sure why he gave Harry his wand back. How could he defend himself?

Sirius asks "I think you want to know why I didn't hold on to your wand for the chance she was alive?"

Harry nods and Sirius says "normally I would but as I could unseal the door, my father and younger brother died I am now Lord Black and the house would protect me even if my mother was alive."

Harry nods dumbly he understands a bit but he doesn't know why Lord Black or when a house is most ancient and most noble really matters.

Sirius sees and says "don't worry Harry I will explain everything as you need to know as you're an important person in our world."

Harry immediately and automatically moved his right hand to his forehead and put his fingers on his scar.

Sirius says "yes Harry that is very important to the others but also as the Heir and last of the line of House Potter. I will explain everything in the coming days regarding your house and being Heir."

Harry nods. Sirius sees the time and says "we can better go to sleep."

Sirius sighs until he says "Kreacher?"

Nothing happens Sirius says "Kreacher!"

A pop is heard and there is Kreacher he says "disgraced son called for Kreacher. Kreacher doesn't want to listen. Mistress will be so mad at Kreacher."

Sirius sighs and thinks "sure my mother died but she couldn't take Kreacher with her."

Sirius says "Kreacher stop talking. You have shamed the House of Black. Look at the house and all the dust. Is there any room without all this dust?"

Kreacher doesn't want to answer but says "Young Master Regulus's room is clean as is the Mistress's room."

Sirius sighs he should have known. Sirius says "you are not allowed to leave the house. Starting tomorrow you will clean the kitchen and after that my room. Now be gone."

Kreacher bows and pops out.

Sirius says "that is what happens to old elves who have been twisted by their master of in this case mistress in the form of my mother. Also, most of the House magic is used for the wards so there wasn't much magic left after my mother died. With the low amount of magic, he gets older must faster and I would say lose his mind but he has his mind enough to treat me like when I was here. He was my mother's favourite elf and my mother liked my younger brother as the proud Slytherin, Kreacher adored him. I was the upstart Gryffindor shame on the house. Are you also a Gryffindor like your parents Harry?"

Harry smiles and nods. Sirius says "of course you are."

Sirius asks "Dobby can you clean the living room so we can at least have a clean place to sleep?"

Dobby nods. He gently put lowers the trunk and owl cage. He pops out before coming back and start cleaning. It took almost half an hour before Dobby says "Dobby is done godfather of Master Harry. Dobby can do more tomorrow if Master Harry desires so."

Harry and Sirius look and see that is it clean enough to sleep in. Harry says "thank you Dobby."

Sirius asks "Dobby can you get the two of the cleanest mattresses here?"

Dobby gets a smile and says "Dobby can get mattresses from the bad master."

Sirius says "you think you can still enter?"

Dobby nods and says "yes godfather of Master Harry. As Dobby is bonded to Master Harry Dobby doesn't have to be afraid of being captured and being rebounded."

Sirius smiles and says "Harry what do you think?"

Harry understands and says "do it Dobby but only if you can and can get safely back. If you can also take two smaller ones. One for you and one for Kreacher."

Dobby nods and Sirius says unbelievable "Kreacher? Are you sure Harry?"

Harry says "I understand you don't like him Sirius, but maybe if we treat him nicely he would become better and be at least be neutral towards us. I rather if we don't want him to die that he serves us because he likes us than as duty to your house like a slave."

Sirius thinks and says "maybe you are right. He is raised with the ideals like my mother so he can't help it. Maybe with us here and not only my mother's portrait he can become a bit like a normal house-elf instead of the crazy elf he is now."

Dobby pops in with a large smile. The mattresses look very comfy. Harry says "Dobby please put the one for Sirius and mine here. Yours on the other side of me and the one of Kreacher closer to the entrance of the living room."

Dobby nods enthusiastically nods "yes Master Harry."

Harry says "great. I am tired I go to sleep. Goodnight. Dobby if you are tired I think you can better also go to sleep. Goodnight Hedwig and Athena."

Hedwig hoots something and Athena sis something before leaving his shoulder and lies down on the mattress next to Harry.

Sirius asks "Harry can you tell me about Athena and Hedwig more?"

Harry says "sure Padfoot but not now after I wake up."

Sirius says "sure. Goodnight pup, I am quite tired after looking for you."

Let's end here for now. In the next chapter, Amelia gets her opening and she is in for a big surprise. Harry gets a part of his family back and more.
