Ace moved out of the hut and took a breath. "Okay, I feel fine." Trevor lifted an eyebrow. "Is that another lie?" Ace chuckled. "You are so mad about the fact I can lie now." Trevor nodded. "Yes! I am!" Ace gave a laugh, but moved a hand to his side as he seemed to be in somewhat pain. Trevor shook his head. "You're not fine." Ace took his hand away. "I can walk. Where is my bow?" Whitebeard blinked. "No, you're in no shape, son." Ace shook his head as he looked around. "Don't care, 2 days have passed. Where is my bow!" One of the guards made a motion to a hut. "Your things are there." Ace nodded and gave a smile to the man. "Thank you." Ace then moved to the hut and started to take his things and fastened them to his shape.
Trevor moved his hand. "No, you're in no shape!" Ace shook his head. "If I can walk, I can fight." Trevor gave a swear. "But no more lies!" Ace gave a small chuckle "You sound as if all my words are lies. I lied once. Once, Trevor." Trevor gave a look. "And you shouldn't have lied!" Ace shrugged. "It was either lie and go away, or just say bye." Trevor sighed. "Bye would have been better, then I would have known." Ace hummed. "I think you would have been angrier then." Trevor rolled his eyes. "Maybe." Ace chuckled. "I know you, you would have been angrier." Trevor gave a breath. "I am still mad!" Ace shook his head, before he looked at Zoie. "Lead the way." Zoie nodded. "It is a few hours on foot, but it should go fine." Ace nodded. "Good."
The walk was uneventful, which was good. They did meet some machines, but none was too bad and they managed to fell all of them. When they had walked for about two hours, they came to what looked like a small city with high walls that was around a passage through the mountains. Zoie went first and headed up to get the elders, to speak with them, and after a bit, one of the elders came over to them. "Sorry, I can not grant you safe passage." Ace frowned. "Why not? I will just head on then, I don't care." The elder hummed. "Then we will stop you." Ace gave a look. "Then I will fight." Whitebeard moved his hand. "You will not fight." He then looked at the elder. "What is the issue? We were told you could grant passage." The elder sighed. "A runoff has come back to fight us, no one is safe as long as she is loose." Ace shrugged. "Fine, where is she? I will kill her." The eldre frowned. "You would help us?" Ace nodded. "If it grants me passage, yes. Who is this?" The elder sighed. "Our champion, she went away and now wants my status, and I will not give up. She wants to wipe us out and start anew with her crowd." Ace nodded. "Okay, where is she? Who is she?" The elder hummed. "She is Sariah, last seen east of here. I don't know how, but she can… control the machines." Ace muttered something, before he looked at the elder. "I will find her and kill her, can I get safe passage then? Can I depend on you helping us?" The elder nodded. "Yes." Ace nodded and started to move. "Then I'm headed east." Whitebeard nodded. "We're all headed east then." Ace sighed. "Fine, I can't stop you." It was clear Ace wasn't thrilled, but they needed to help Ace here.
They then headed on and fought some machines as they moved by, Ace finding some trails to follow, before they walked and saw a herd of machines, and Whitebeard was about to defend, when Ace held his hand out. "No, they haven't noticed us." Whitebeard fronwed. "How do you know?" Ace hummed. "See the lights? They're blue. That means it is not aggressive at this moment." That was new info for him, but it made sense as he had seen red lights on those they had fought. "So they are red when aggressive?" Ace nodded. "Yes, when unsure, they are yellow. It is to signal to the other machines. Bright colors." That did make sense, and was good to know. Ace looked around, before he pointed to some bushes. "We should try and sneak past them, save time on fighting." That sounded to be a good idea.
They managed to sneak past the machines, and headed on. When they had been walking for about half a day, they saw what looked like a large camp of sorts, and there were people there that looked to be the enemy. And they had people going around the entrance, some even riding machines. They could do that too?
Whitebeard looked at . "They are riding the machines too?" Ace nodded. "Yes, it is not that hard actually, you just need to know how." Made sense and they nodded. Ace then hummed. "The color goes the same here. The machines grow yellow when searching or think they see something, and red when attacking." Whitebeard nodded, and was about to speak when Ace did. "Wait here, I need to try something." Whitebeard looked at Ace. "What?" Ace shook his head. "You'll see." Ace then moved to the tall grass and snuck up on a machine with a rider, and when they were a bit away from the group, Ace moved his bow out and shot an arrow at the rider, hitting dead in her head. This caused the rider to fall down and the light on the machine grew yellow, but Ace moved over to it and moved his spear out, and he was sure Ace would kill it. But instead, Ace moved to do something with it, before the machine's lights turned blue again, and Ace made a motion, the machine's lights turning yellow, before red, and then the machine charged at the enemy.
As the machine attacked the enemy, who said it was no longer controlled by them and now running amok. Ace was by them and looked at them. "Distraction, take out everyone." He nodded and Ace pointed out some people to take on first, before they charged, and they managed to take on the enemy pretty quickly, it wasn't that many there, which was good, but weird. There were a few machines they took care of, before they all were down, including the machine who had been on their team, which the enemy took down.
As everyone was dead, Ace looked at them. "Search the camp." They nodded and did, and after a bit, Rakuyo spoke. "There are some drawings here." He said as he was by a desk and Ace headed over to look. "It's maps." Said Ace as he looked at them, before looking at some writing. And when Ace read it, his eyes widened. "We need to get back to the city!" Said Ace as he turned around and hurriedly walked towards the city, making them follow and Marco spoke first. "Why, yoi?" Ace shook his head. "An ambush, they are going to ambush the place." Whitebeard frowned. "But they would see them come." Ace shook his head. "Not if they come from underground." The captain frowned. "How can they come from the underground?" Ace sighed. "Machine that burrows." That really didn't sound good, they probably did need to hurry.
They then headed to the city at a fast pace, and as they were nearing the city, there was obviously a ruckus there, and there seemed to be fighting going on. As they got closer, they heard a machine, before a machine came into sight, this one looked like a huge snake, like a cobra. This was probably the machine that could burrow, as there was a huge hole in the ground, this machine was also huge, about one and a half size of him. It had huge fangs with something green dripping from it, probably a type of poison.
Ace was the first one to charge at the machine, taking his bow out and hitting places, before he tried to single out the fangs, and he did manage to take down one fang, before the machine used its body to charge on Ace, and Ace barely evaded it, before Ace sent an arrow flying to the machine's eyes. Whitebeard did hear some shouting to his left and upwards, and saw the elder fighting a person who seemed to be Sariah based on how she looked. He was brought back to the snake when he heard some sort of sound from it, before the machine spit something green out at Ace, which he thankfully evaded, probably poison. But it did hit one of the enemy people, and it rendered the person incapable of fighting for a bit as the green stuff seemed to sting, until he managed to dry it off. This was a dangerous machine. He did his best to help, but didn't want to get too close, but Ace was doing an amazing job.
After a bit, the machine seeming to grow more and more damaged, Ace used some second to aim, before he sent an arrow flying and hitting the machine in the mouth, which was open, before it made the machine's lights flicker, as if heavily damaged, before Ace sent one more arrow, this one hitting the chest, and that seemed to do the trick.
The machine fell down dead, and Ace turned his attention to the left, to a platform a bit over the ground, where the elder was fighting Sariah, and the elder was having a hard time obviously, but it was 3 on 1, Sariah not fighting fair. Ace headed over as the elder was fighting Sariah, and it was clear the elder was losing. But, as Sariah tried to do a finishing move, Ace went between them and pushed Sariah down from the platform and down to the ground below on her back. Then he jumped down from the platform with his spear out and tried to impale Sariah, but she managed to roll away and get to her feet, before Ace was at her and the two fought, both with their spears. Every time one tried an attack, the other blocked, no one getting one hit in; it was a tough match. But when Ace gave a hard swing, it sent Sariah a bit back as she faltered, before Ace quickly grabbed his bow and sent an arrow at Sariah. It hit her in the knee, and she fell down on it and used her hand to remove the arrow, but she didn't get back up as it hit her knee dead on. This made it so Ace could actually land a hit on her, sending her backwards as she hit a wall and slid down, before Ace used his spear to impale the woman and kill her. Ace won.
The rest was then easily dealt with, many running away as their leader was dead. The elder came they had had issues with this woman for a long while, and now she was gone. They most likely wouldn't have made it without Ace. As things calmed down, one man looked at Ace. "You beat the champion, your name, Champion, fits even better now." Ace rolled his eyes. "It is not my name!" The man hummed. "But you are the champion." Ace gave a breath. "Why is it so hard for people to call me by my name? Why must people say Champion, Savior, Hero, and such. What happened to Ace?" Trevor hummed. "When you stop helping people, people will stop it." Ace shook his head. "That's not happening." Trevor nodded. "Then people will call you things like that, since for them, you are a savior." Ace rolled his eyes. "I hate it!" He got why Ace didn't like it, but Ace was a huge help to people.
The elder then came to them and gave a small bow. "I thank you for the help. You now have safe passage through. My people will do everything we can to help you succeed in your task. You just inform me where you need us, and I will do my best." Ace nodded. "I will, we just need to settle a few things first, but I will need your help." The elder nodded. "You have my eternal gratitude, and I hope you will succeed in your task." Ace nodded. "Same." The elder then left to settle a few things too.
Things were calm for a bit after that, them just settling a few affairs, which was mostly just speaking to people, before some guards came up to them with one from the enemy between them, the elder with them and this seemed serious. The elder spoke when Ace turned to them. "Champion, this sneaker wants to speak to you." Ace nodded. "Okay, what do you have to say?" The guy moved to look at Ace. "Tobias wants to speak." Ace nodded. "Okay." Whitebeard did wonder who this was, but he would see. The man then handed something to Ace, a small device it looked like. The man gave a breath. "He also wants to talk alone." Ace gave a small snort. "His champion is dead. We are now on my terms. He doesn't get to choose." The man nodded. "Okay." He was then led away by the guards, and Ace looked at the chief, who was by them. "We need to be alone." The elder nodded and left with his people, and Trevor looked at Ace. "Why did they leave? We should leave and speak to this man wherever he is." Ace shrugged. "Tobias is probably hiding far away in a cave." They all frowned, Whitebeard not sure how they would find this guy then. "Then how will we speak if you don't know where he is?" Ace frowned a bit, before he gave a small laugh. "Oh my, you don't know." They all frowned, Trevor speaking. "Know what?"
Ace gave a chuckle and threw the thing he got to the ground, which emitted some light, before a see through shape appeared, who frowned when he looked at them. "I said alone." Ace hummed. "What you can say to me, you can say to them, Tobias." The man, Tobias, rolled his eyes. "Fine, do you know what you just did?" Ace nodded. "I took away your champion." Tobias gave a glare. "Not only that, but you took away the only chance we have to win this war!" That didn't sound good. Ace shook his head. "No, my rules now. We meet, face to face, and no more lies, no more hiding in a cave or behind others. We meet." The man gave a huff. "Fine! I'll come to your camp." Ace shook his head. "No, I'll send some coordinates, head there." Tobias sighed. "Fine." Ace nodded. "Good." The image then faded and Trevor moved his hand. "Wait! All this time, we could have spoken long distance!?" Ace nodded and took the device from the ground. "Yes, you just need this nifty little device." Trevor blinked. "Then why has no one told us that!" Ace hummed. "They take a distance from the machines, this comes from the machines." That did make sense. Trevor gave a swear. "Damn it! I hate this place!" Ace nodded. "Was shocked when I found out. But yeah."
Whitebeard nodded, this was good. "What now? We meet this guy, and then what?" Ace sighed. "We need an army. But I have an idea." They all nodded, that was good. Ace then walked towards the exit. "Follow me." They did, and they walked for a while, maybe half a day, Ace not giving away where they were headed and what kind of army he had. But after they had walked for half a day, the ground started to shake in turns, and there was a mountain in front of them, shielding from half the view of a field. After a bit, the ground shaking now and then, a huge machine came into view, it was over triple the size of Whitebeard, which was saying a lot. It hadn't noticed them, as its lights were blue. Trevor blinked. "We need to run." Whitebeard agreed, they couldn't fight this.
Ace sighed, before he looked at Trevor. "I need to get to the machine's back." Trevor frowned. "Ace, you can't g-" Ace shook his head. "I have a plan. Okay?" Trevor gave a small swear. "Fine! I'll help." Ace nodded, and Trevor moved himself to be ready, before he threw Ace towards the machine. Whitebeard had no idea what Ace could do, as this was one of the largest he had seen, and probably highly aggressive. If this one detected Ace and Ace didn't get to do his plan, they were most likely doomed.
When Ace was on top of the machine, its lights changed to red as it tried to buck Ace off, but Ace did something on its back with his weapon, before the machine's lights changed to yellow, before blue, and calmed down. That was extraordinary. Ace then slid off the machine's back and looked at them. "This is our army." They all blinked, Trevor speaking. "I need to know how the fuck you do this!" Ace hummed. "Secret." Trevor rolled his eyes, and Ace chuckled. "Kidding. I honestly don't really know how, but I use this machine part," Ace showed a part on his spear. "And they go calm and listen to me. It doesn't work on everyone though." Trevor took a breath. "I desperately hope for a yes now. Did you know it would work on that machine?" Ace hummed. "Not a hundred percent, but yes." Trevor blinked. "What if it didn't work?" Ace hummed. "Then I would have fought until I either died or won."
Trevor nodded. "What now? We have an army, what now?" Ace hummed. "We meet Tobias, then we head to a tribe to the south. They need help and we can use their help if we help them. We need it." Whitebeard nodded, that sounded good. "Okay, how far away are Tobias and this tribe?" Ace hummed. "Tobias is probably an hour away, the tribe is some hours away, maybe half a day." That made sense.
They then headed to a field, and after a bit, the man, Tobias, came into view and gave a frown as it saw the machine, before he looked at Ace. "You can't tame them." Ace hummed. "Found an upgrade." Tobias frowned. "So what now? You can just tame everything?" Ace shook his head. "No, I can't. But I can tame more than you. Now, we use my rules. You work with us now." Tobias looked at them. "And who are they? They are also outlanders." Ace nodded. "Yes, but they can fight, unlike you." Tobias gave a look. "I can fight." Ace shook his head. "No, you can't. You teach others and then you hide behind them. This time, I am in charge. You, you take care of that machine, while we get ready, ready for the war." Tobias nodded. "Okay. What are you going to do?" Ace hummed. "We have a place to be, to stop these machines." Tobias nodded, and went over to the machine and he hoped this man was a good man. Ace then explained where they were heading to Tobias and them, before Tobias went off and away from them, and they also moved towards what Ace had spoken about.
When they were a bit away, Ace looked at Trevor. "I will meet you there, I need to do something." Trevor looked at Ace. "If you're lying about this place, if you're sending us to the wrong place so you can go on alone again, oh my God, Ace." Ace shook his head. "No, you're here now. I can't change that. Even though I want to. I will come as fast as I can. I promise." Trevor nodded. "Okay. Break that, and I can never forgive you or trust you again." Ace nodded. "I know." Trevor nodded. "Okay, do what you need to and we will meet there." Ace nodded. "Yes." Ace then left, heading towards a mountain, and he was curious on what Ace would do. When Ace was a bit away, he looked at Trevor. "Do you think he was lying?" Trevor gave a breath. "If he did, I can never forgive him or trust him. We can just hope." That was true. They then headed towards where Ace had said, and he hoped Ace would show and they were heading to the right place.
