"Fucking... fuckers... calling me weak."
Naruto couldn't sleep that night, not after being told he wasn't going to be helping to fight the demons when they showed up. All he was going to be used for was to bond with the girls, make them stronger, and kiss them so they could transform for battle. He wasn't helping them fight, he was their transforming tool.
They were the magical girls, and he was the mascot character.
Naruto's fists sank slightly and cracked the boulder that he was punching in the backyard of his home, his knuckles bloody from the continuing punches he unleashed in his rage. As angry as he was, he wasn't going to shout, or yell, or take his anger out on the girls. As pissed off as he was that he felt like he was being used, they weren't wrong.
He felt like they were using him.
It was only his feelings that were hurt, the girls were genuinely trying to form a relationship with him and get to know him better. They were trying to fall in love with him, they were being pushed into a position like this so that they could save the world. They were doing the right thing, saving lives and putting their own hearts on the line.
They were heroes.
He was pissed at them, because as pissed as he was, he knew that it was wrong for him to be pissed at them. He was pissed at them because it was wrong for him to be pissed off with them, when they were the good guys. His pride was hurt, his dignity had taken a hit, and he completely knew that he was in the wrong for being angry.
It hurt.
"... It's wrong for me to be pissed... but I'm so... fucking... angry." Naruto puncuated his words by punching the boulder that served as his training partner. He was pissed at himself for not being able to stop himself from being angry with innocent people, and he was pissed that he couldn't handle the hit to his pride. Even if he knew it was wrong, it still hurt him deep down to be told that he wasn't going to be fighting by their side.
They were going to be protecting him.
"Uzumaki Naruto... it's been awhile."
-The Next Morning-
"Sorry, we failed again to kill him."
"Oh, you failed to kill Naruto again, it's fine. You can keep the money, just be sure to try again. I'm pleased with these results at least." A beautiful woman with deep blackened red eyes spoke as she ran a hand through her long black hair. She had a beautiful full figure, that she showed off with the lingerie that she was wearing. She had the happiest smile on her face, and she just clapped her hands with excitement when she saw a picture.
A dead assassin.
A member of the group of assassins that she had hired to kill her ex-lover and his wife.
"... We failed to kill him... but you're still going to pay us?"
"Oh sure, just keep trying whenever you get the chance. You're getting closer, he was almost in critical condition this time." The woman stated as she looked at the picture given to her. Next to the dead assassin, was Naruto on the ground bleeding. He was holding the assassins dagger in his hand and it was stabbed into the ground.
The assassin left her.
Once the assassin left, a shorter girl with a mildly developed body walked in after him, as if she had been waiting for the assassin to leave. She had extremely messy blond hair, and bright red eyes with peach colored skin and a rounded face.
"Mother, who was that?"
"An assassin group I hired to kill your brother, and he's growing stronger. This assassin was even stronger than the last one... and he got killed. Isn't it great that Naruto is growing strong?" The woman stated as she stared at her youngest daughter with eyes that pierced into the soul.
Skuld gulped.
She looked at the picture, and she felt nervousness. Her mother had been trying to kill her brother casually for years now, hiring assassins for the sake of sending them in to die. She didn't care if her son lived or died, just that he either grew stronger or was killed. She was very casual, not because she wanted him dead, but because she didn't care if he got stronger or died due to her assassins. The fight for survival for Naruto was just amusement to his own mother.
The horrible part.
Skuld knew that there was no malice in her actions, she didn't hate her son, dislike her son, but her expectations of him were so high that if he failed to meet them, then she expected him to die. It took a twisted woman to expect death of her children should they fail to meet her expectations. She agreed with her mother on many things, but the foul way she treated her brother was just something that she couldn't agree with.
She wasn't strong enough to do anything about it at all.
She wasn't even strong enough to try.
-The Next Morning-
"Stayed up training all night huh... I was just about to get some training in, keep my skills sharp for the demon arriving soon." Ichika stated as she twirled her spear around. She woke up earlier than the rest of her sisters who were more focused on living normal lives during the times they weren't going to school, working part time jobs, or getting a Val Love in whenever the chance showed itself.
Ichika raised an eyebrow when she noticed that Naruto was using a shovel to fill in a hole in the ground, and his clothes were covered in blood.
His own blood was mixed into it.
"... Some wild animal attack last night?"
"Assassin, an assassin attacked last night. Keep it a secret, I want to get this hole filled in before anyone else wakes up." Naruto had gotten a chance to take out his aggression on a man trying to kill him, so he did feel a little better. Still, he didn't like the fact that his life was still the target of some damn assassins. Ichika noticed that Naruto seemed pale, so she would guess that he had lost a lot of blood during the night.
"... You're not lying, are you?"
"Usually they only attack once every few months, so the next one won't come for awhile." Naruto explained with a grin.
"Ah! That is why you're arm is covered in bandages!"
The fact Naruto ignored her completely showed her that she wasn't correct, so the assassins weren't the reason why he wore bandages on his arm. She grabbed the shovel from Naruto and sent him a thumbs up.
"You take a break, get some rest. I'll finish up here." Ichika offered to finish up the fact he was going to be burying the body of his assassin. Assassins might try to target her beloved sisters in the future if she didn't pay more attention, so she would keep a firmer eye out in the future so that she could slay any assassins that might try to invade the home. "You know, if you had actually told us about these assassins, we could have protected you, you didn't have to fight by yourself." Ichika pointed out to Naruto as he was walking away.
*SLAM*
Naruto's fist punched a hole in the door as an enraged look overcame his face the very second that she finished speaking. She was startled by the violent outburst, since she hadn't been expecting it. She looked at Naruto's back as he walked into the house, raising an eyebrow when he didn't explain why he punched a hole in the door.
"... Sorry..."
"It's fine, you were attacked and hurt, of course you're angry. I would be angry too if somebody attacked me when I was training." Ichika waved off the apology as she glanced at him. She had a respect for a man who was willing to fight assassins to the death to protect himself, and not even tell his lovers in order for them not to worry about him. A kind and strong man who would look after her sisters, was the kind of guy who could handle this kind of stuff.
Naruto took a deep breath when he heard her speak.
She didn't get why he was angry, but he didn't know how to put his feelings into words to explain it to her. He didn't want her to get angry that he was angry with them, her and her sisters. It wasn't there fault that he was having trouble putting what he was feeling out there for them to understand.
"Hey, Lover... are assassins the reason your parents are dead?"
Ichima had the bluntness of a hammer, despite using a spear as a weapon.
Naruto was gone before she could get her answer.
