Chapter 15: A Black Date
It seems that the color black is the new trend of New Bubble York. Our iconic hero Spider-Guppy has started wearing his mysterious new black suit. Which is caused by the mysterious symbiote that he had in his possession. Thanks to that change, he has improved his fight against crime. His abilities have improved and he has performed on his hero side. And that's not the only black change. Lately, the mysterious thief Black Cat has emerged as one of the best thieves in the city. Neither the police nor Spider-Guppy have been able to catch her. That was due to her incredible abilities to go unnoticed. What many don't know is that behind the masks, there are people with not very happy stories.
Zooli Hardy, a young teenager who studied at New Bubble York High School with her friends. She was an average student by day, but by night she was the enigmatic thief Black Cat. She has a quiet life in an apartment in a troubled area, where insecurity abounded. We can see a normal day in this girl's routine. She was having breakfast with her family. There was her mom and her little brother Mike Hardy. They did not have a good economic situation, but both Mrs. Hardy and Zooli worked hard (in their own way) so that they would never go without food for a single day. Unfortunately, there were many problems besides the financial ones. That morning, someone knocked on the door.
Knock! Knock!
"I wonder who it could be. It's still too early" Zooli´s mom asked surprisedly. She got up and opened the door. It came as a bitter surprise to learn that it was a small crab-man with a couple of tough-looking, muscular thugs.
"Good morning, Mrs. Hardy...Enjoying breakfast?" The crab greeted her with a suspicious smile.
"Mr. Rivera, what are you doing here? There's still a month left until you collect my rent" The woman asked surprisedly.
"I wanted to give you guys a heads up. The rent has increased. The price for "protection" has increased. And I require an advance of rent to provide protection. And I hope you have to pay" Mr. Rivera said with an evil smile.
"Bear with me, Mr. Rivera. We just paid the bills and you know it's hard for me to pay the rent" Mrs. Hardy begged.
"You know how it is, Mrs. Hardy. You pay rent plus protection and my boys won't do anything to you or your children. You know what happens to those who don't pay...Do you want to end up like Mr. Mitchell?" He threatened them. Both Zooli and her mom were silent because they knew what had happened to their neighbor some time ago.
"But it is not fair! We just paid your rent a few days ago... And besides, the rent is not worth what we are living. It's quite expensive and they haven't even fixed the apartment's problems!" Zooli said bothered. Unlike her mother, she was not afraid to confront the owner.
"I like that about you...Unlike your mother, you do have the guts to talk to me...Listen, Zooli...You have to pay me if you know what's good for you...But you know, dear You don't have to pay me with money if you don't have... You can pay me in another way…" Mr. Rivera said with a perverted tone of voice. He wanted to touch the young woman's cheek. But she pushed his hand away from hers with her palm hard.
"I'm not going to give you that pleasure, pervert. But if you want me to pay you...Take your f*cking money...Just stop glaring at me...You suck" Zooli tossed a roll of bills into his hand. The owner just checked the amount of money.
"That girl needs to learn manners..." One of the thugs wanted to punch her.
"Nah. Not worth it. I only care that they pay. The rest is irrelevant...Ahem...Very good, ladies...See you next month" The crab said before leaving with his thugs. Zooli just closed the door and they were finally able to breathe easy.
"I'm sorry, daughter. I know I have to defend you... Mr. Rivera has wanted to be with you since we arrived...I still want to go find another place" Mrs. Hardy was about to cry until Zooli touched her cheek.
"Don't worry, mom. I can take care of myself. Even if we look for another place, he will find us. He's from the Hammerhead gang...so we can't do much...Hey, we shouldn't cry...We have to be strong together...for Mike" Zooli explained to her.
"(sigh) You´re right….By the way, where did you get the money to pay him?" Her mom asked.
"(sigh) That was my savings to buy Mike a present for his birthday...Never mind...I can work overtime..." Zooli tried to be strong for her mom.
"No way, young lady...You already do a lot for us...I just want you to study and spend time with your friends like normal teenagers...in a healthy way of course" Mrs. Hardy said quietly.
"Relax, mom. I know what I'm doing...Don't worry...Together we'll get ahead...For now...we have to go. I'm going to drop Mike off at daycare and go to school. See you at night" Zooli took his things and those of his little brother to go to school together.
"See you soon, Zooli...I love you" Their mom said.
"We love you too" Zooli and Mike left the apartment. The walk was silent and Zoolo did not want to comment on what happened in the morning. She began to think of many things "(This is all Hammerhead's fault. Mr. Rivera is only his pawn. I wish I could take care of them...Wait! Zooli Hardy can't take them...but Black Cat can try...Although...I think a little professional help could help me)" Zooli smirked because she remembered somebody who can help her.
Later, Gil Parker spends a normal day in his daily life. The usual, a few lessons, some time with his friends, delivering photos of Spider-Guppy to Jameson and he came home a little late. He was lonely because his Aunt May was still in the hospital. He has visited her daily to check on her condition. Luckily he had gotten better and soon he could go home. For now, Gil was in charge of the house. He noticed how his new symbiote managed to go unnoticed and that was good. He now no longer had to remove and put on the Spider-Guppy suit. Just thinking about it was enough for the symbiote to cover its body to put on or take off a black suit. It was night to watch the city, so he activated his black suit and went out to patrol the city. He noticed how some masked robbers wanted to open a business store to steal the money from the safe. However, Spider-Guppy managed to defeat them without any difficulty. The thieves ended up trapped in a web of black cobwebs. Much more resistant than the previous ones.
"That was very easy...Even they make me feel sorry" Spider-Guppy said confidently.
"You're right, spider...they are just rookie thieves...not professional at all" A female voice was heard. Spider-Guppy turned to see and noticed how a young girl in a catsuit was waiting for him.
"Black Cat!" He said surprisedly.
"Awww how nice that you remember me" She smirked at him.
"This time you won't escape" The masked hero said determinately.
"You'll have to catch me, little spider" She said that playfully before starting her escape. Spider-Guppy had no intention of letting her get away. Our hero chased the thief through a large part of the city. He had to admit that the girl was quite skilled. However, thanks to the power the symbiote had given him, Spider-Guppy could now rival and even surpass the thief's abilities. In fact, a few meters later, our favorite wall-crawler managed to trap Black Cat on a rooftop.
"This is over, kitty" Spider-Guppy said confidently.
"Oh please, I thought we were having fun together...But now that you got me...I'm all yours, little spider" She said with a seductive tone. Something that made spider boy nervous.
"Listen, Black Cat... The only place I'm taking you to is prison" He tried to keep his posture.
"Hmmm I see...Do you know something? Today you look different...I admit it...I like you better with the black suit...It's...charming" She started to play with him again.
"What do you want to play, Black Cat?" Spider-Guppy asked seriously.
"Listen...I know you want to catch me for my thefts...but you should know that I am an honest thief" Black Cat wanted to explain how she works.
"Thief and Honest are words that do not go together" The wall-crawler replied.
"Well, you should know that I only steal from the rich and not only from them... I steal from criminals…" She started with her explanation.
"I guess you took to heart the saying: It's no crime to steal from a thief" He joked a bit.
"You're funny, Spider-Guppy...I like that...However, I wanted to ask you for help. Or rather propose something interesting" Black Cat told him.
"What do you have in mind?" He asked curiously.
"I guess we both have a common enemy: Hammerhead. One of the most dangerous criminal leaders in the city. I want to attack his secret base to make him pay... Something personal... but I know it's suicide to go against him alone... So I thought we could work together. We could capture him together. That way I get what I want and you can finally hand it over to the authorities...Like the hero you are. What do you say?" She explained her proposal to him.
"On the one hand, I don't trust you...But on the other hand... Capturing Hammerhead will be an important step in reducing crime in New Bubble York...I have tried to capture him red-handed for a long time...Sounds like a unique opportunity...Do you know something? I accept, but I'll be watching you" Spider-Guppy analyzed the options. And he thought that having a temporary alliance with her could be a good alternative to stop Hammerhead's criminal work together. She just smiled. It seems that both reached an agreement.
They both started their quest to find the infamous mob boss. Black Cat had a plan to find his hideout. She proposed to follow the movements of a man who worked for Hammerhead. This man was Mr. Rivera himself, that man who made life miserable for the girl under the mask of the thief disguised as a cat. Spider-Guppy found it curious that she knew that man, but he didn't want to go into too much detail. They both decided to follow Rivera stealthily, since he had gone with some thugs towards a mysterious abandoned warehouse. Spider-Guppy and Black Cat managed to sneak into the cellar through the roof. They both noticed that the place was full of heavily armed criminals guarding the place. Both knocked out a few of them stealthily, using webs and surprise attacks to ambush them. Both were approached for a meeting where Rivera would meet the infamous Chief Hammerhead.
"Greetings, Hammerhead!" Mr. Rivera said with respect. The famous criminal was present. He was a hammerhead shark man with a blue elegant suit and a red tie. He had the intimidating look worthy of a crime boss.
"Do you have what you promised me, Mr. Rivera?" Hammerhead asked seriously.
"Of course, my lord. I always keep my promises" The crab gave a suitcase full of bills to the leader of the mafia. That money was part of what he collected from rent payments and "protection" payments. That is to say, money that he took out through extortion.
"Not bad...And in cash much better...However, I expect an increase in the collection for the next month" Hammerhead ordered.
"Don't worry about it, boss. I always manage to get more money" Mr. Rivera said confidently.
"I hope so, Mr. Rivera. If I want to compete against Tombstone and Silvermane, I have to acquire the most resources. And in this way, I can become the most powerful man in New Bubble York" Hammerhead wanted to be the most powerful criminal boss in the city.
"Looks like this is his base of is his money laundering center" Spider-Guppy analyzed.
"There are not many guards. We can attack them" Black Cat proposed.
"Something's wrong. This has been easy. Let's take some of them down and head straight for Hammerhead" Spider-Guppy planned.
"Sounds like a plan, Spidey" She agreed with a smile.
"Spidey?" He asked confusedly.
"Don´t you like it? Come on, we have work to do" The masked thief smirked and both of them started to move in silence. They started knocking out some thugs in stealth. This time, the boss noticed.
"Hmmm It seems that this time we have company" Hammerhead said seriously.
"Huh….Hello there?" Spider-Guppy appeared in front of them landing heroically.
"Spider-Guppy!" Mr. Rivera and the thugs were surprised.
"We finally meet face to face. You've meddled in several of my operations...You know, Spider-Guppy? I'm starting to miss your red and blue suit...At least that way you showed what a clown you are" Hammerhead said with a mocking tone.
"Wow, the great Hammerhead... They weren't lying when they told me about your huge head. As long as that's not a big airhead..." Spider-Guppy said sarcastically.
"Hmmm You're going to learn to respect your elders... Finish him off!" Hammerhead earlier ordered thugs to appear with guns pointed at him.
"Oh come on!" Spider-Guppy prepared to fight until someone attacked some thugs with a surprise ambush.
"Don't think I'll leave you the whole party, Spidey" The masked girl said with a smug smile.
"The Black Cat! You've been robbing me! But no more! Kill them both!" Hammerhead ordered furiously. Both masked men began to fight strongly against the armed criminals. Spider-Guppy used his agility, strength, webbing, and his enhanced abilities in the black suit to take down most thugs. Black Cat used her acrobatic skills and the claws from her gloves to take out some of the thugs.
"Not bad, kitty" Spider-Guppy commented about her fighting abilities.
"You're always being so great at this, little spider" Black Cat said while she was knocking down other thugs.
"Grrrrr! It's time for me to deal with you two once and for all" Hammerhead pulled out a Thompson Model 1921 submachine gun with a drum magazine. He fired hard at them. Spider-Guppy used his web to knock over a large container to use as a wall of protection against bullets. In this way, he and Black Cat were saved from the impacts. The hero easily used his web to snatch the gun from the mobster.
"Wow! This gun is old school...Would be great for a museum" He commented funnily.
"Don't mock, wall-crawlers. Let's settle this like men. Hand to hand!" Hammerhead placed gold gauntlets on his hands to engage him in hand-to-hand combat. Both began to fight a few minutes before the criminal could give our hero a strong headbutt.
"Aghhh!" Spider-Guppy fell a few meters away from him on impact "What a hard head…"
"Now you see why they call me "Hammerhead." I have a virtually unbreakable metal plate inside my forehead. Now…Die!" He wanted to deliver a killing blow to Spider-Guppy, but the crook got between them and she landed a hard parry on his neck, knocking him down in the process "UGGGH!"
"Don't die, spider" Black Cat winked at him before helping him to get up. They both prepared to fight Hammerhead together.
"So that's how things are going to be, huh? It doesn't seem fair to me two against one...We must even things out. Go ahead, Gargan!" Hammerhead ordered loudly. At that moment, Spider-Guppy felt the vibration in his head. His spider instinct was warning him of danger.
"Look out!" Spider-Guppy caught Black Cat and they both dove to the ground to avoid a deadly projectile. It was an acid shot.
"Did you miss me, Spider-Guppy?"
"Oh oh!" Next to Hammerhead, the dangerous guy with the scorpion tech suit appeared "Scorpion?! What the hell are you doing here?! You should be in prison!" Spider-Guppy asked surprisedly.
"That's how things were supposed to be. But Hammerhead came along and offered to get me out of prison in exchange for working for him. I am now his personal mercenary and hitman. And believe me, Hammerhead pays very well... And now, getting back at you will be an extra bonus" Scorpion said before preparing his stinger for combat.
"Black Cat, this is getting out of hand. I advise you to get out of here" Spider-Guppy advised her.
"And leave you alone with those two? Not at all. I got you into this in the first place. We started this together and we'll finish it together" Black Cat answered seriously.
"I've faced Scorpion before. I hope it's not so hard now" Spider-Guppy said.
"Enough! Scorpion, finish them off!" Hammerhead ordered.
"It will be a pleasure, boss!" Scorpion smirked before he attacked them.
This great duel had begun. Spider-Guppy and Black Cat vs. Hammerhead and Scorpion. The spider hero began to fight against Scorpion, because like him he already faced him in the past. So defeating him first would be easier. Meanwhile, Black Cat had the courage to face Hammerhead one on one. She knew that she was at a disadvantage against him, he was extremely stronger than her. So, she used his wits to fight him. She dodged his blows and headbutts with agility, speed, and cunning. From time to time, she would use her claws to damage him bit by bit. But she used her environment to her advantage like throwing objects at him or knocking down large structures to harm him.
On the other hand, Spider-Guppy was fighting against his opponent using all his possible skills. Scorpion had improved little since his last fight. But now, our protagonist was much stronger thanks to his "last improvement" with the symbiote in his body. So, his duel against him didn't last long. All he had to do was dodge the deadly sting, grab the robot tail and use his strength to roll his opponent around with his tail. Scorpion tried to break free, but Spider-Guppy bound him tightly with his powerful web-enhanced webbing, immobilizing him completely.
"Scorpion will no longer be a problem. I hope Black Cat is dealing with Hammerhead without problems" Spider-Guppy went to help her.
To his surprise, Black Cat was fighting Hammerhead effectively. It was a difficult fight for her, because she couldn't take blows from him, because they would be devastating for her whether they were blows with mitts or head butts with her strong metal plate. She was getting tired, and Hammerhead knew it.
"I see you're getting tired, bad cat. When I put my hands on you, you'll see what happens to those who steal from me" Hammerhead said bothered.
"You get mad at me because I steal from you, but you steal from others... And I'm the thief?" She commented sarcastically.
"You'll see, damn!" Hammerhead was about to hit her.
"Go to sleep, metal head" She used her agility to jump on top of him and climbed onto his back. She used force to throw him directly into a small electrical generator. That caused Hammerhead to suffer a strong electrical current directly into his metal plate.
"GRRRUUUUAAAAAAHHHHH!" He screamed in pain and fell to the ground unconscious. In this way, Hammerhead had been defeated.
"Black Cat, that could have killed him!" Spider-Guppy scolded him.
"He'll be fine. He will only suffer from headaches. And even if he died, would that be bad? He has hurt many people, he should pay" Black Cat asked curiously.
"We... must not be executioners" The masked hero told her.
"Anyway, you see that they are handed over to the police...I have business to take care of" The masked girl said quietly.
"What are you planning?" Spider-Guppy asked her.
"None of your business...It was fun but...I have to take care of something by myself. See you, Spidey!" Black Cat said before disappearing in front of his eyes.
"Wait! Huh?! H-How?" Spider-Guppy was surprised. Who knows what our mystery thief has in mind.
A few meters away from the warehouse, one of Hammerhead's workers had escaped. It was the cruel Mr. Rivera. He was thinking of escaping with his money until a mysterious shadow cornered him in an alley.
"W-W-Who are you?!" He was scared. It was revealed that Black Cat cornered him to a wall in a threatening manner.
"Hi there….I know who you are, you piece of trash. You're just a cowardly man who likes to scare and intimidate the weakest. Besides, you steal from the poor... Let's just say it's something I can't forgive you" Black Cat said seriously.
"Please...Who cares about those dumb families?!" He said bothered. That caused Zooli's anger, since she was the girl under the mask. He was insulting her beloved family. So, to shut him up, she clawed at his face using her claws, leaving scars on his face "AAAGHH"
"I care! And I think about teaching you a lesson...If you keep messing with those families...I'll kill you!" She said bothered.
"Please! No! I…I….I WON'T DO IT AGAIN!" Mr. Rivera said scaredly.
"I know you won't do it. So... I'll give you something you'll never forget" She prepared her claws.
"No! No! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
Some time later, the police arrived to arrest Scorpion, Hammerhead, and their gang members. They also found Mr. Rivera, tied with ropes, hit and clawed, but unconscious. It was a victorious night for our protagonists, but the joy would not last long. On a quiet night, we can see a very important agent in his office. He was Captain Stacey, Deema's father. He was going through some files before he felt that someone entered his window. Luckily, he recognized him easily.
"Oh hello, Spider-Guppy! It's nice to see you around" Captain Stacey said quietly.
"I'm not in the mood right now. Explain to me what this is?!" Spider-Guppy said angrily. He threw a newspaper on the table with disturbing news:
"Hammerhead on Parole"
"Is it a joke? We caught Hammerhead at his own base of operations where he launders money. Is that not enough?" Spider-Guppy asked, annoyed.
"I understand your annoyance, Spider-Guppy. I am also upset. But I don't make those decisions. Those decisions are made by my superiors and by the court. And you and I both know that locking up these kinds of men is dangerous. It is not easy for anyone. For now, until we find something solid, we can't lock him up" Captain Stacey tried to explain to him.
"You are useless! They harm thousands of people in this city and you can't lock up these animals?! Anyway, the police or the laws are useless! You know something, if I find Hammerhead on the loose again, don't expect you to find him alive!" Spider-Guppy said it with a sinister tone of voice.
"What the heck are you saying? You have never crossed the line and I don't want you to start now. If you do, you know I'll have to stop you" The police commander said seriously.
"Ha! I would like to see you and your colleagues try. If I have to cross the moral line to clean up this town...I will!" Saying this, Spider-Guppy left the building and went swinging through the night city. That worried the policeman a bit. Is he telling the truth?
Spider-Guppy was full of anger. He was furious that all the work he did to capture Hammerhead had been for nothing. All because of a corrupt legal system. Our hero was getting tired of continuing to fight criminals, all for the crime to only keep increasing.
"I'm sick of all of them. They believe they are above the law and innocent people always suffer for it. And the police don't help at all. We need a new kind of justice...Perhaps...My justice..." Spider-Guppy said those things that were a bit extreme. It was evident that something was going on inside his head "Wait...Where did all that come from? I can't be that kind of vigilante...My justice? No... What is happening to me? Perhaps..." Gil was suspecting that something was wrong with him. He started to deduce something before someone appeared next to him.
"Is it common for heroes to talk to themselves or is it yours specifically?" She was Black Cat with a special smile.
"Oh! I'm sorry...I hope you didn't hear anything" Spider-Guppy said nervously.
"Nah. I did not hear anything. Don't worry. I just came to tell you that we did a good team job. That night...was fun" She winked at him.
"At least one of us had fun. Everything we did was useless. In the end, Hammerhead was free" The hero said disappointedly.
"Well, that was YOUR goal. Me? I did have what I wanted" Black Cat commented.
"W-What? What was it you really wanted?" He asked confusedly. Black Cat simply took out a suitcase. She opened it up in her face to reveal a good amount of bills "No…No…"
"Please...this was what I wanted from that fool...I really need this money" She answered.
"It just can't be! You used me to take care of Hammerhead while you took the money!" He said bothered.
"Don't say it like that...That sounds so cruel...I didn't take advantage of you...The opportunity just presented itself...and I took it" The masked thief answered quietly "You can take your part. After all, it was a team effort"
"No. I will not take money that is not mine" He denied.
"It is a pity. Because I really loved what we did. You and me, fighting criminals. Although, my thing is not fighting. Anyway, listen, what we did was wonderful" Black Cat smiled at him.
"Of course not. I was an accomplice and I didn't even realize it!" Spider-Guppy said bottered.
"The money I took was from Hammerhead...Someone who dishonestly took money. They don't care what they have to do for money. And I, well, I am a person who needs money to live like everyone else. And I know that the person under that mask has money problems too..." She said confidently. That made Spider-Guppy a bit surprised.
"What makes you believe that?" He said nervously.
"Only a simple and humble person would be able to use his skills and risk his life for an entire city. My guess is that you are also poor. So...I want to propose something to you...We could work together, taking some money from Hammerhead...And not only from him, from the other bands too" She proposed to him.
"I can't... that's wrong" He denied.
"Listen, you and I both know what it's like to live in poverty...do you think the rich and powerful care about us? It is convenient for them that we live badly, and because of them, it is that men like Hammerhead are still free from doing harm. We are survivors. Please, Spider-Guppy...How many times have you helped everyone and they give you something in return?" Black Cat said with a persuasive tone of voice.
"Cause it's not what a hero does" He said bravely.
"(sigh) What a remedy...I'm just saying...sometimes it's necessary to do the wrong thing for the right reasons. I know you're going to need my help, and when you need it, I'll be waiting for you. Anyway, I hope to see you soon" Black Cat decided to leave him alone. Those words stayed in his head for a long time. When she left, he felt that her phone was ringing. He answered the call to receive good news, or so it seemed.
Finally, Aunt May was better and could leave the hospital. Gil decided to go for her in her civil mode and took her home. They didn't talk much, because they were tired. This is where more problems appear. The household expenses were increasing and not only that, the hospital bill was very expensive. Not even working at the Bubble Bugle for the rest of her life seemed to be enough to pay for it. A new economic crisis hit the Parker family. Gil didn't want his aunt to break her back working for all that expense. She was already an older adult and her pension was not enough. More problems for Gil's life. In that moment of despair, he remembered his last conversation with Black Cat. What if they robbed criminals? It wouldn't be "wrong" to steal from bad people, he thought. That's why he decided to patrol one night swinging through the city, hoping to meet his next partner. He was on top of a building looking at the night city
"I wonder where she is" He asked himself.
"Oh! I see you missed me, little spider" Black Cat appeared behind him "It seems that you were looking for me... What is it about? Do you want to... try to arrest me again?" She asked him seductively.
"I was thinking about what you said to me that night...About doing the wrong thing for the right reasons...Black Cat, I accept your proposal" Spider-Guppy finally agreed. She smiled at him.
"That's great news. You won't regret this, my new partner" She approached him provocatively.
"I thought this would be professional" Spider-Guppy said nervously.
"Rules are made to be broken, right?" Black Cat touched his face softly.
"Hmmm w-well…I guess" He got very nervous. She made a very daring move. She began to remove the mask slowly, though she didn't remove it all the way. She just wanted to reveal the hero's lips, and decided to give him a passionate kiss. Black Cat had kissed Spider-Guppy! They lasted like this for a few seconds before she separated a little from him "W-Wow…."
"I think that this teamwork thing is beginning to like me. See you later, Spidey!" Black Cat winked at him before leaving. She could have removed his mask to find out who he really was, but she didn't. The boy was simply stumped. He felt weird, because he thought that the girl he would kiss would be Molly Jane Watson.
"Weird... But I thought... I should have done that with Molly... No, she's with idiot Eddie. Also, we're not a couple, so it doesn't matter, right? Pffff Screw this…." Spider-Guppy said confidently.
It seems he wasn't affected by what Molly was doing. In fact, he doesn't even care. Gil was wondering if Black Cat had feelings for him. It would be strange. But he could try. At least, there was nothing that could be intervened. But, his feelings for Molly came to his head. Gil now had a conflict of various emotions, thoughts and even feelings. PrimroseRaspberry: Hello, friend! I'm glad you liked this version of Black Cat. Honestly, I thought giving her a better origin story would be ideal to give her a better personality. It looks like Gil and Molly's problems are only going to get worse, and Eddie Brock is just one more ingredient to wreak havoc. Evidently, that alien thing Gil has is suspicious of Gil's new changes. We'll see how this all goes.

Post-Chapter
We return to the apartment where the Hardy family lives. This time, breakfast was a happier hour for the family. Zooli, Mike and Mrs. Hardy had a lovely family time. Until someone knocked on the door. The woman was nervous in case it was Mr. Rivera, but she covered her feelings and went directly to the door. When she opened it, she saw that it was a completely different person.
"Good morning sir? Who are you and what are you doing here?" Zooli´s mother asked nervously.
"Good morning, ma'am...Hmmm...Hardy, right? I am the new owner of the apartments...And here I bring you the new announcement of the regulated rental prices" The new gentleman showed a paper that determined the price of the rent. The surprise was that it was less than what Rivera charged, plus he promised to start repairing the reported damage. The rent was still expensive, but it didn't compare to Rivera's prices.
"Wait...new owner? What happened to Mr. Rivera?" Mrs. Hardy asked curiously.
"You do not know? Mr. Rivera has been caught by the police on many charges. It seems that someone handed him over to the police...And this time it wasn't Spider-Guppy...Rumors say that the person who captured him was a girl dressed as a cat" The owner explained to her. Zooli listened to the conversation and couldn't contain his smirk when he heard that this bad man had been captured and would not return.
"A girl dressed as a cat? Well, I live in a city where there are all kinds of weird people. I guess this is the least weird thing I've ever heard" Mrs. Hardy analyzed all kinds of characters that lived in town. Finally, our girl was relieved by that news. At that moment, she remembered what she had done as the Black Cat.
"(Hmmm I kissed Spider-Guppy! I was able to unmask him at that time...but...Nah, I like the mystery better. I want to see how things will be with Spider-Guppy...I don't know, this will be...interesting)"
