Things have gotten more intense in the earlier chapters. It is my duty to inform you that we will see our beloved protagonist in one of his lowest points. You are warned.
Bubble Guppies Fanfic
The Amazing Spider-Guppy
Chapter 17: Inner Demons
"Spider-Guppy Strikes Fear into the City!"
Is it a joke? I'm sorry to tell you that this time it's not a bad joke. Though the Bubble Bugle has sensational news about the town's hero, this time Jameson isn't entirely wrong. It seems that Spider-Guppy had started using a strong hand against criminals. He felt that the way criminals would stop harming people was by causing them fear. And in fact, we can see how that is reflected in a single event.
"Give me your wallet, sir!" It was an assailant who threatened a poor gentleman with a gun. And he was not alone. They were surrounded by four other gang members. They were the accomplices of the assailant who looked dangerous. Two of them had knives, one had a baseball bat, and the other had a shotgun. The snail man could only hand over his belongings and pray that they did not hurt him.
"O-Ok…Just…Don't hurt me…I have kids" The man begged.
"Do you think that matters to me? Ha! Guys, hit him!" The leader of the group laughed.
"As you command, boss!" The thug with the bat wanted to hit the victim. At that moment, a black spider web appeared and trapped the man with the shotgun, eliminating the most dangerous of the combat.
"Why don't you idiots mess with someone your size?"
"Spider-Guppy!" All the gang members said they were a little intimidated. Our hero didn't even give them time to prepare and took the bat from one of them with his web. Quickly, he launched himself into combat against them. This time, Spider-Guppy was fighting more aggressively and without much mercy. The assailant's lackeys fell heavily injured from heavy blows.
"Get away, demon!" The leader of the group said scared before starting to shoot him with his pistol. Spider-Guppy approached him intimidatingly as he dodged the bullets until he disarmed him with a kick to the hand. The thief stepped back and raised his hands in surrender "Okay! Okay! Okay! You win! I give up, Spider-Guppy! I'll stop raiding! I swear!" He begged scaredly.
"Oh! Not so brave now without your gun, huh? Do you know something? I know you are going to stop hurting people...Because you will never be able to use that hand" Spider-Guppy said with an intimidating tone of voice.
"What are you talking about?! You are not like that?! You don't do that?!" The criminal was terrified when Spider-Guppy subdued him by grabbing his wrist tightly.
"Now I do it" Spider-Guppy decided to do something horrible to him. Without mercy, he broke his wrist.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" The thief fell to the ground writhing in pain. Spider-Guppy approached the person he had just saved.
"Are you okay?" The masked guppy asked him. The man was shaking with fear and could not speak well.
"D-Don't hurt me, Spider-Guppy!" The innocent man said scaredly.
"Do not worry. They are the only ones who deserve this. You have nothing to fear" He tried to explain to him that he wouldn't hurt him.
"Take my things! Get out of me!" The man panicked and ran away. Spider-Guppy didn't understand why he was terrified if he had just saved his life. Just at that moment, some police cars arrived.
"Spider-Guppy, you're taking this too far! Now you dedicate yourself to beating criminals, breaking bones and traumatizing them for life?" Captain Stacey faced the masked boy seriously. Some policemen were preparing their weapons for an emergency.
"You should be thankful I didn't kill them. Rather I was pious with them" Spider-Guppy commented with a harsh tone of voice.
"Listen to me, I have tolerated many things from you...But what you are doing now is not correct and if I see that you continue like this...I will have to arrest you for the good of all...What happened to the Friendly Neighbor?" The police officer asked him.
"The Friendly Neighbor is gone. This city doesn't need a hero, it needs a vigilante. They need someone to do what it takes to stop the dregs of society. I must remind you that you are so incompetent that you have not been able to stop the most dangerous criminals. People want justice and if you don't give it to them, I will" Spider-Guppy said that with a rather aggressive tone.
"You've been like this ever since our failed arrest attempt on Hammerhead...Listen, this is not the way..." Captain Stacey said quietly.
"Is that not the way? Do not say stupid things. These criminals do not have a single shred of mercy with people. Why should we have pity on them? They are like animals, they only understand with violence! And I'm warning you, captain... don't get in my way!" Spider-Guppy said that before quickly leaving using his webs.
"Captain…." A police agent tried to ask him.
"Officers, I want you to start watching Spider-Guppy. If he breaks the line, don't hesitate to arrest him...Or use deadly force" The police chief said seriously. He was aware that the one they had called a hero was becoming a danger.
Spider-Guppy was running around the city, swinging on his webs. He was watching that there was no one committing any crime. He decided to land to watch over a park. And then he noticed something strange. Some children were happy to see him. Normally, parents let their children get close to him. But this time, the parents didn't let them and they looked restless.
"But mommy, it's Spider-Guppy!" A small lobster kid said.
"Just...let's get out of here" His mom said before leaving. Some people saw our hero with different eyes.
"Did you realize what he did to the Hammerhead thugs days ago?"
"Before I felt safe with Spider-Guppy... Now he scares me"
"Jameson was right all along. He is a threat to the city!"
"First he hits criminals, will we be next?"
"I liked him better with the red and blue suit"
All those comments came from many people who now feared him. That figure of hope for the city now became a symbol of fear. It seems that Spider-Guppy not only terrified criminals, but the people he was sworn to protect. Spider-Guppy just ignored them. As he was leaving, he saw how someone was taking pictures of him.
"Oh hello, Spider-Guppy! It's nice to see you in person. Eddie Brock of the Bubble Bugle. I must thank you for the photos. You're showing just what I want: photos that show you're a threat. I would like to ask you some questions" Eddie Brock appeared with his camera.
"Listen, I don't have much time right now..." The masked guppy tried to avoid him.
"Please, we won't last long. I just want to have a much better exclusive than Parker's mediocre" The boy said smugly. That caused the hero to get angry with him.
"Do you want to know something about me?" He asked that rhetorical question before webbing Eddie's camera away. When he had the camera in his hands, he destroyed it just by squeezing his hand "I hate paparazzi!"
"Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Eddie said angrily. The boy under the mask smiled arrogantly and simply fled from the scene using his webs. Eddie was upset because he damaged the camera where he had good photos "Grrrr Damn spider! It doesn't matter...I can still get something good...And I know who can help me"
It seems that Spider-Guppy is no longer what it was before. He had become someone more aggressive and more intense. Those changes also applied to Gil Parker. The boy made a radical change of look. He grew his hair long, began to wear a black jacket and a black shirt. Obviously the symbiote was hidden there. Unfortunately, his changes were not only physical, but also mental. And we're going to look at that next. We can see how the boy entered the Bubble Bugle offices. He noticed that there were some people gathered. There we can see Grumpfish Jameson, Betty Brand, Robbie Robertson and Eddie Brock. They were discussing something important.
"I must apologize for the delay, but Spider-Guppy destroyed my camera and the best photos were lost. But luckily, I was able to get others with my other source" Eddie explained his situation.
"On one hand, it sounds like an excuse. On the other hand, Spider-Guppy has been so questionable lately that that sounds believable. Ha! I always knew that wall-crawler was up to no good" Jameson said loudly.
"Yes of course, that sounds more like an excuse than a real justification" Gil Parker appeared before them in his new style.
"Gil…" Bretty was surprised.
"Parker, late again! What were you doing?" Grumpfish demanded an explanation.
"I was researching Eddie's work...Well, I must say that his work is...suspiciously identical to mine...Most of his photos are fake...and others are just taken photos of context. And I thought we should be an honest press" Gil explained seriously.
"Hahaha! Good joke, Parker. Tacky, but nonetheless, a joke. You're just jealous that my work is superior to yours" Eddie said quietly.
"Oh! How curious that you say so. Says the one who steals photos and manipulates them at convenience. Take this, check the source before accepting photos" Gil simply placed a folder full of sheets and photos. Jameson, Robertson, and Betty took the document and went through the papers. Gil noticed that Eddie was tense.
"Parker…Please…." Eddie was getting nervous.
"You should have thought about it before you got smart. Do you want me to reveal to all of them your "secret source"?" Gil smirked at him. The brown-haired guppy was tense, but preferred to remain silent.
"BROCK, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!" Grumpfish shouted angrily.
"Mr. Jameson, let me explain it all to you" He begged him.
"I don't want to hear it! You have been handing out false photos and questionable information for a long time! I may be a tabloid, but never a fake! I can't let you tarnish the image of the Bubble Bugle!" The green fish said loudly.
"But sir…!" He tried to justify himself.
"Uncomplainingly! I don't want you here anymore! Brock, you're fired!" Jameson ordered sternly. Eddie simply clenched his fists and slowly withdrew, not before glancing at Gil angrily.
"This isn't over, Parker" Saying that, he left. Gil simply smiled victoriously.
"Parker….(sigh) I never thought I'd say these words to you but...Ugh...I apologize for questioning your work. After all, you have been here longer than Brock" Jameson said reluctantly.
"I never doubted your talent, Parker" Robbie said sincerely.
"Anyway, here are better photos for tomorrow" Gil showed them his photos. Genuine photos this time.
"Perfect! With this we can remedy Eddie's blunders. I'll pay you the usual" Jameson said loudly before something strange happened.
"Oh... Regarding the photos... I wanted to comment that the photos lately have been more difficult to take than before... So, I want double the payment" Gil asked with a smirk on his face.
"What the hell, Parker?! I'm not going to pay you more than normal!" He was shocked.
"What a pity...The competition would pay me more for the photos...I will have to reconsider my options" The boy said that with a persuasive tone. That caused annoyance on the part of the head of the newspaper.
"Grrrr! FINE! The double! I'll pay you double! Just...stop talking nonsense" Jameson had no choice but to agree to her request. The boy received double pay for his work. That surprised the other two workers. Gil just smirked.
"But what was that?" Betty asked, shocked.
"It's called "negotiation techniques", baby. I could teach you...in a more private place" Gil told her with a slightly provocative tone. That caused the secretary to turn red as a tomato.
"Gil Parker!" She said that embarrassed and surprised. It wasn't sure if she was offended or just in shock.
"PARKER! I didn't hire you to flirt with my secretary! Go bring me more pictures of Spider-Guppy!" Grumpfish ordered loudly.
"As you said, GJ!" The boy had the audacity to put a nickname to his own boss in his face. Gil simply withdrew, leaving everyone stumped and confused. The blue-haired guppy still had something on his mind.
"I'm not done with you yet, Brock!"
Our nerdy and friendly Gil Parker had become a jerk, conceited with great airs of grandeur. He had even changed the way he walked. He believed himself to be the king of the world at that time. He came to his house at night and did not talk much with his aunt. He went to his room and noticed how he still received a few messages from Molly wanting to talk to him. It seemed like it was something very important.
"Wow, she wants to talk to me. Very well, I have things to say to her. But first, a night with Black Cat sounds great right now" Gil said before the symbiote put the black Spider-Guppy suit on him to see one more night with the thief disguised as a cat. It was obviously to work with her robbing criminals and possibly flirting with each other.
The next day would be a normal day in high school. Although the problems were about to begin. His best friends began to notice that something strange was happening in Gil. Something out of the "usually weird" he already was.
"Did you see how Spider-Guppy took down the 27th street gang members?" Zooli asked surprisedly.
"I don't like how things look. All of a sudden, Spider-Guppy has gotten too...edgy for my taste" Deema commented.
"I Don't know. He is no longer the hero I remember" Goby said thoughtfully. At that time, they found a couple. Molly was consoling a frustrated Eddie.
"What you are telling me is not possible. He would never do that" Molly tried to calm him.
"I'm serious, Molly! Your dear best friend has ruined my career!" Eddie tried to explain to her.
"Are you really sure?" Molly raised her eyebrow.
"I would never lie to you, Molly. You are my special someone...I only count on you at this moment" The brown-haired guppy took her hands.
"Ha! Are you going to keep lying to her? Don't drag yourself down any more, Brock" That was Gil Parker who appeared near them.
"What the hell is happening here?" Deema asked surprisedly.
"Parker, you didn't have enough for you to kill my job!" Eddie asked bothered.
"I didn't ruin your career. You did it yourself. You turned in fake photos. I only exposed the truth. But... of course, you don't tell that part of the story" Gil justified with a smirk on his face.
"Wait, what does this mean?" Molly asked surprisedly.
"Brock faked photographs. But that is not the worst. The worst thing is that he also stole photographs ... Photos from your blog" Gil pointed them out.
"No...That's not true, Gil! Eddie would never do that to me..." Molly denied that fact.
"It's true. I feel offended. Surely you made all that up because you're jealous!" Eddie defended himself.
"Just check this irrefutable proof…." Gil showed Molly photos that Eddie used in his reporting. They were the same photos that Molly had on her blog!
"W-W-WHAT?! Tell me that's not true, Eddie! Tell me!" Molly was disappointed.
"I'm sorry to be the one to tell you Molly but...Oh you'd rather he tell you himself" Gil smirked a bit.
"Grrrr…I…I…I….Grrrr….I admit it. I used your photos and your blog for my reports. That's why I joined you" Eddie confessed against his will.
"No...No...That's not true!" She was hurt for these declarations.
"That explains how you were always one step ahead of me. You used Molly this whole time. Who's the trash now, Brock?" He crossed his arms with a satisfied smile.
"But...why, Eddie? I thought we had something special? And what about ours? Did you feel something for me or was I just a tool for you?" Molly asked with tears.
"Wait...did you really think I was in love with you? Please...You are a little girl to me. I'm older than you. You were only interesting to me because of your Spider-Guppy blog. With that, my place in the Bubble Bugle was secured...If it wasn't for Parker of course" Eddie finally confessed the truth.
"YOU'RE AN IDIOT! I HATE YOU!" Molly slapped him hard across Eddie's face. He simply rubbed his cheek where the slap was marked.
"It's over, Brock...you messed with the wrong person" Gil commented.
"Grrrr…..You'll pay me back, Parker! YOU ARE GOING TO PAY ME!" Saying that, he left there with his ego on the ground. Only Gil was satisfied with the result. Molly was hurt, she really believed that he truly loved her.
"I can't believe it. All I felt...was an illusion" Molly said sadly.
"I'm so sorry, Molly. But you had to know the truth sooner or later...But don't cry...That idiot wasn't worth it...You deserve someone better...Like me" Gil caressed her cheek provocatively.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Can't you see I don't feel good right now!" Molly put off his hand.
"Anyway...At the end of the day...Your friends are hotter than you" He said with a special smile.
"RUDE!" Deema showed her displeasure.
"That was inappropriate!" Oona defended herself.
"Yuck!" Zooli added.
"Dude, what the hell is wrong with you?! You are not like that!" Goby faced him.
"Do you know what's wrong with me? I'm sick of being the submissive nerd that everyone walks all over" Gil said angrily.
"But Gil...That's not the way. If you have a problem, we can help... But what you do is wrong" Deema told him, trying to be calm.
"Oh! Now it turns out that everyone wants to help me! Don't be liars! None of you helped me at all! You only know how to feel sorry for me! My aunt had a heart attack and now there's a huge bill to pay that I won't be able to pay with my lousy salary as a photographer. I have to take care of the house because my aunt's old lady can't! Do you think I'm having a good time?! But of course, you have never wanted to understand my pain! You guys have complained about me when I couldn't help you?! You are nothing but hypocrites!" Gil was breaking out at the time.
"Friend, please calm down!" Goby tried to calm him.
"You are the one you should talk to the least! You are rich and you never cared about my situation. You are just as stingy and selfish as your father!" Parker was furious.
"We just want to help you" Oona said quietly.
"Oh yeah? Like you guys helped Connors or Nonny? Please" He said sarcastically.
"It's enough!" Molly decided to intervene immediately "What's the matter?! You are not the same! You've changed...and not for the better?!"
"What I was missing...You are the biggest hypocrite of all! All you do is play with my feelings! First Dash and then Eddie! You never saw me as your best friend... I'm only your second option! You never valued me! HA! And to think that I liked you!" Gil crossed his arms, annoyed.
"G-G-Gilly…." Molly was shocked to hear those words. Didn't she know that he felt something more for her? Didn't she see it, despite "knowing" him for years?
"Anyway... It doesn't matter anymore... Now I know that I can only trust someone: myself! I don't need any of you! I DO NOT NEED ANYONE!" Gil yelled angrily before running off and left the school that day.
"No...No...Gilly..." Molly sat on her knees with tears in her eyes. Goby was the one who decided to comfort her a bit. Then Deema joined him. She needed a moment. Although they all felt hurt. Because they really wanted to help him. Gil just walked out of school upset. And things couldn't get worse. It seems that someone saw everything that happened and decided to face Parker.
"What's up, loser!" It was a famous bully.
"I'm not in the mood, Dash! Do not bother me!" Gil glared at him.
"I know. Your aunt is wrong. Poor Gil Parker..." The blond guppies said with a smirk.
"Get out of the way, Thompson!" He said bothered.
"Do you know why you are a loser? Because I just saw how the people who love you the most are there to give you a hand... And you? You just treated them like trash. You're too bad, Parker. I'm not even that kind of jerk" Dash said. It was at that moment that Gil had a reality check. This time, he was speechless. He couldn't believe that a nasty person like him would tell him like it is. He just left without saying anything else. In an attempt to escape, he activated his black suit and went to a more solitary place to think.
Spider-Guppy began to swing through the city, still thinking about Dash's words. He decided to reach the top of a Gothic-style church. It was a quiet place where he could think clearly. He managed to read the newspaper where it was seen that his latest actions were radical. He beat up criminals for pleasure. Gil had to reconsider his attitude in the last few days.
"What is happening to us? Why do we treat my work colleagues badly? Why do we treat our friends badly? To Deema, Oona, Zooli...To Molly and Goby...who have been our childhood friends? Why are we torturing criminals? What happened to us against the Sinister Six? We almost killed Nonny! Why do we accept a criminal relationship with Black Cat, knowing that stealing is wrong? Hey! Why am I speaking as "we" and not as "me"?! It can't be... It's the symbiote! He wants to take control of my life! He is changing me! I... I have to take it off. I have to get rid of it" Gil told himself. He decided to go up to the bell tower. He needed a solar place to remove the symbiote. He began to use his strength to tear off the black substance
"Please Gil. Do not exaggerate. We have improved your life"
"That?! Can you... can you talk?! Or are you just using my head?" He asked surprisedly.
"You don't see it. Thanks to us we have power, money and everything we want. We don't need anyone. Nor your friends. Not Molly…"
"Not my aunt?! One moment! Those are NOT my thoughts! You must get out of my body and my head now!" Gil started to tear at the black substance, but it wasn't enough. The symbiote was strong and it began to control his body.
"I don't think so, Parker. We really like your body. You are a very interesting guest for us...I think we should have a more...intimate meeting"
"What are you doing?! No! NOOO!" The symbiote began entrapping Gil's body in a black cocoon made of its own black, slimy substance.
Gil woke up in a very mysterious place. It was a very dark place. The floor, walls, and ceiling were made of a viscous black substance. The place was full of cobwebs. It was a huge place. Our hero did not know where he was. He noticed that his clothing changed to the civilian clothes he used to wear.
"Where am I?" He asked himself.
"Hahaha….Can't you identify your own mind?"
"Huh?!" At that moment, a humanoid figure appeared in front of Gil that was taking shape thanks to the black substance. He became an exact copy of Gil, but with the civilian look he used with his new personality. He had a jacket and black clothes. For practical storytelling purposes, let's call it Dark Gil.
"I must admit that this is a very welcoming place for us. Don't you think so, Parker?" Dark Gil said with a smirk.
"Are you the symbiote? What the hell?" Gil was shocked.
"It could be said yes. We have an important question for you...Why do you want to get rid of us?" Dark Gil asked seriously.
"Don't you see? You are altering my life! You're driving away the people I love! You have made me a more violent and aggressive person. This is not me!" Gil faced him.
"Hmmmm….That is not true at all. You already had these dark thoughts. I am just the impulse that helps you fulfill your darkest fantasies. You were always the good guy, the submissive, the hero...Simple stupidities! Don't you see, your life was complete cr*p before we met...and I'll prove it to you" Dark Gil snapped his fingers to show Gil his own memories. He could see how his life was not pleasant at all. He saw his financial, social, work problems, his civil life problems as his hero's life
"Is that the life you want? You disappoint your friends constantly. No one values what you do for others. We need money for the house and for your aunt. The city needs a true vigilante who will do EVERYTHING necessary to punish evil. don't you see? You were always weak. The good guys are always weak. Mercy, empathy, love, altruism, those things are useless in a world full of hate and selfishness...After all, it was this damn world...that took Uncle Ben from us" Dark Gil held up the memory of the day Uncle Ben Parker died. Gil remembered that and it was a cheap shot. The symbiote's memories, thoughts and arguments were subduing our protagonist's willpower. Gil fell to his knees and looked down
"This world takes away everything we love. That's why you can't trust anyone. You have no one who understands you. Only we understand you. You can only trust us. Let's unite again. Let's make our bonds permanent. Together, no one can stand up to us and everything you've ever wanted, we'll have" Dark Gil used a persuasive tone. The symbiote incarnation wanted to convince him. Gil was at his lowest point. He was losing all hope. Dark Gil extended his hand to seal the deal. Our protagonist was about to take his hand until he felt someone touch his shoulder.
"Gil, wait a second…" Gil's eyes widened, puzzled as he identified that voice.
"U-U-Uncle Ben?!" He was shocked. He was in front of him. It was the same as he remembered it.
"Gil, it's good to see you again... even under strange circumstances. Listen, son... That thing really doesn't know anything about you. It is true that life is difficult, but those events are what make us strong. And something good will always come out of bad situations, sooner or later" Uncle Ben told him with a smile.
"HAHAHA! Oh yeah? Don't talk nonsense, old man! Did something good come after he lost you?!" Dark Gil asked sarcastically.
"Of course, just remember well what happened next" This time, Ben showed his nephew the memories of how many lives Spider-Guppy has saved. How he stopped villains and criminals for the purpose of saving others as Friendly Neighbor Spider-Guppy. Gil was amazed at everything he had done for all the people in the city.
"We will not deny the good work we have done. But what good is it? We don't have money, we don't have the girl, we don't have real friends..." The symbiote wanted to keep insisting on accepting the sinister side.
"I have a different opinion about it, you know?" Ben interfered and showed Gil all the good memories he had with all his loved ones: Uncle Ben, Aunt May, Goby, Nonny, Molly, Deema, Oona, Zooli, Grouper Connors, Norman, Grumpfish Jameson, Betty Brant, Robbie Robertson, Captain Stacey, Black Cat. Seems Gil really wasn't alone
"It's true! My Uncle Ben is right! I am not alone! I can't leave what I really am... to become someone like you! I'm not going to lose everything I have for a selfish and hateful feeling like yours!" Gil decided to get up and face the dark version of himself.
"So...you reject us? Hmmmm how predictable...That's the bad thing about the good ones...Then I'll have to take control...By force!" Dark Gil activated his black suit. He was wearing the dark Spider-Guppy suit with white spider logo. Gil saw that and got into a fighting stance, but not before his uncle delivered something special into his hands.
"Take him down, Gil" Ben said before handing his nephew the classic Spider-Guppy mask before stepping aside and disappearing. Gil saw the mask of his iconic suit. He took a deep breath and put on his mask. Like magic, the rest of his body was covered in his classic outfit. Spider-Guppy was returning to what it was before, but first it had to deal with a parasite!
A new battle started! Spider Guppy vs. Dark Spider Guppy! The match was taking place inside Gil's mind, both sides fighting for total control. On one hand, Gil was fighting to return to the person he was before, and on the other hand, the symbiote was fighting to possess the physical body of the guppy for selfish and dark purposes. The match was extremely hard for Gil. It was like fighting a copy exactly like him, but with greater abilities. They both used their strength, agility, speed, reflexes, and even shot webs. They both used the floor and the walls that the mind created to improve the level of combat. They both hit and kicked each other, but the symbiote used a trick. He could melt himself into a black substance and appear in a physical form whenever he wanted. Thus he managed to evade and counterattack. Despite the difficulty of the battle, our hero did not give up.
"This mind has an owner. You must go now" Spider-Guppy said seriously.
"Get out of here? Please...This is our new home" The symbiote said before summoning dark tentacles near Gil and began to grab him "We have joined you in body, mind and soul. Don't think you'll get rid of us easily...You can just give up"
"Grrrr Ughhh!" Gil was struggling to free himself from the tentacles. Unfortunately, he couldn't do it no matter how hard he tried. At that moment, a flash of light destroyed the tentacles.
"What the hell?!"
"Gil is much stronger than you think. And do you know where that strength comes from? From all of us" It was Uncle Ben who appeared behind Spider-Guppy. He touched his shoulder as a sign of support. Around Gil, silhouettes of light of various characters dear to Gil began to appear. We can identify Aunt May, Goby, Nonny, Molly, Deema, Oona, Zooli, Grouper Connors, Norman Osborn, Grumpfish Jameson, Betty Brant, Robbie Robertson, Captain Stacey, Black Cat
"You're a good boy, show him who you really are" May said.
"Kick his butt, man!" Goby said excitedly.
"You have to win. I trust that you will save me" Nonny added quietly.
"Many depend on you, hero! Do not let us down" Deema said.
"I trust you, I have to" Oona said.
"You can do it, Spidey!" For some reason, Zooli and Black Cat said the same thing at the same time. Finally, someone approached Gil and whispered to him.
"Go for it, Tiger!" It was Molly. Spider-Guppy looked up and felt himself getting stronger and an aura radiating from his body.
"Now I see it. You are a disease...and they are the cure!" Gil said confidently as he watched his willpower return. He began to approach the Dark Spider-Guppy. The symbiote summoned black tentacles to stop him, but Gil began to use his agility to dodge and jump his arms. Some tried to catch him, but he managed to destroy the tentacles with his fists. Finally, he faced Dark Spider-Guppy one on one. This time, Gil's attacks were more powerful than the symbiote´s.
"No! This is impossible?! How is it possible?!" Dark Spider-Guppy yelled worriedly. He noticed how Gil's mind was being cleared little by little. The black slimy substance that was the symbiote was disappearing. Gil's blows began to destroy the body of the dark version.
"My Mind, My Rules! And you know something, symbiote? GET OUT OF MY MIND!" After a powerful punch and kick combo, Gil dealt the final blow to destroy the dark copy of himself.
"NOOOOOO! GRUAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Dark Gil began to disintegrate. The symbiote and its influence on the hero's mind began to wear off. Gil's mind began to clear. Gil gave a triumphant smile and took off his mask. He saw how his uncle Ben was in front of him.
"You've done it, Gil...You've beaten him...Now get out of this and go back to being Friendly Neighbor Spider-Guppy" He smiled at him.
"N-No, wait! Uncle Ben! Please... I don't want you to leave!" Gil begged him.
"My little Gil...I will always be with you. I always have been…" Uncle Ben said before everything disappeared quickly.
Spider-Guppy opened his eyes and he was in the same place he was before entering his mind, the church bell tower. He noted how he managed to get out of the dark cocoon (some side effect of the mental battle), but he still had his black suit on. But he now he could move at will
"Alright...Say goodbye, symbiote!" Spider-Guppy began to slowly tear pieces of the symbiote off, but the alien organism refused to go away.
"You haven't won yet! Soon I will take your mind again!"
"Just go away!" Gil accidentally collided with the bell. This started to sound very loud.
"AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH"
"That is! You hate sonic vibrations! I got it!" Gil began to hit the bell hard. The sound began to damage the symbiote bit by bit.
"AAAAAGHHHHH! NOOOOOO! NOOOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT ARE YOU DOING! YOU DON'T KNOW THE MISTAKE YOU ARE MAKING! AAAAAAGGGHHH"
"This is over!" Gil screamed before continuing to ring the bell until the symbiote couldn't take it anymore and decided to finally leave the boy's body. If he continued with it, the sonic waves could seriously damage him. The boy fell to his knees breathing heavily. Removing an alien symbiotic organism was no easy task. Unbeknownst to the blue-haired boy, the symbiote managed to escape and slipped through the church until he made it out through the sewers. Our protagonist was catching his breath before slowly getting up
"Ugh…Ugh….Hmmm….It's gone...ugh" The guppy said relievedly. He decided to get up and go home. He felt that he should recover after getting rid of the parasite. He felt like new, as if a huge weight had been lifted from him. However, he was aware that tomorrow would be a difficult day. He must begin to remedy the damage he did under the symbiote's influence. It would be a day full of apologies and explanations. He hoped he could receive the forgiveness of the majority. Or at least, of the people he loves the most. It wouldn't be easy, but it was his duty to do it. However, this would not be the last time Gil would see the symbiote.
Wow, what a long and intense chapter! This part is really one of my favorites. Normally the scene where the symbiote is removed is very iconic and I really relied a lot on the version of the animated show "Spectacular Spider-Man", which I feel was a better version of this scene. As a curious fact: When I was writing this chapter I heard the song "Monster" by the band Skillet. It is that the lyrics of the song described Gil's situation well, because that symbiote made him feel like a monster. I don't know, it helped inspire me hehehe.
Leave your reviews to know what you thought of this chapter. For now I will respond to the reviews of the previous chapter.
Greendonerc: Hello there! True, Gil has radically changed due to the symbiote's influence. Now that the symbiote is gone, things are going to get better...or are they?
PrimroseRaspberry: Hi there! I'm happy to hear you're well! The previous chapter really had a lot of interesting things. Molly tried to make amends, but Gil seems to have made things difficult because of the symbiote. The Sinister Six returned to make life difficult for the hero, but they failed. It was hard to see Spider-Guppy about to kill Doc Ock, that sounds out of character for him until I remember the symbiote. Things are definitely going to change between Spider-Guppy and Black Cat... And more with the events of this chapter. You just have to see what happens
With nothing more to add...See you in another...chapter...What is this? AAAAAAGGHHHHHH!
Post-Chapter
"AAAAAAGHHHH I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU, SPIDER-GUPPY! I HATE YOU, GIL PARKER!"
Those angry shouts came from Eddie Brock who was walking through the night city. He wasn't happy about what had happened to him.
"I hate you both! These two are the same! They both pretend to be good people, but they're just fake! I would like to teach them a lesson!" Eddie said that until something strange happened. A mysterious black substance appeared from the sewer and stuck to Eddie's tail. The boy noticed it and tried to clean himself of the black stain, but it began to move and began to cover his body "What the-?! Ahhhhh!" He ran into an alley and tried everything to remove the black substance, but the symbiote managed to cover his body. Finally, we will enter the mind of Eddie Brock where he was surrounded by tentacles and black substances on all sides.
"Eddie Brock…."
"Huh?! Who or what are you?" He asked scaredly.
"Eddie Brock...We know who you are...We can feel your anger...Your hate...You hate Spider-Guppy...You hate Gil Parker"
"Grrrr! Of course I hate them! They ruined my life!" He said angrily.
"Well, in that case...We want to tell you a little secret..." The symbiote decided to show Eddie in its mind memories of its old host. It is there where the brown boy had a great revelation. A very big one.
"N-N-No! It's not possible! Gil Parker is Spider-Guppy!? How did I not see it before?! It all makes sense now! Actually I don't have two enemies, they are only one!" Eddie said furiously.
"That's how it is! Spider-Guppy, that is, Parker, tried to destroy us. It seems we have a common enemy. Join us, Brock. Let us become one in body, mind and soul...I promise you power enough to fulfill your darkest dreams"
"I accept the offer!" Eddie said before giving an evil smile. The symbiote began to stick to him. So their mind would become one.
"That's how it is! Accept the gift that Parker refused! Together we will get everything we want. We will form the perfect symbiosis!"
"YEAH!" Eddie yelled with a wicked grin as the black goo began to give him a new shape. His body changed radically. He was now a much taller and more muscular guppy. The entire body of him was black with a huge white logo on his chest and back. The most radical thing was his face. His eyes were large and white with a terrifying oval shape with no pupils and he had a huge mouth with sharp teeth and a huge tongue. He had become a symbiotic monster.
"AND WE WILL GET REVENGE ON SPIDER-GUPPY! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
