Elsa was left alone in Peter's apartment and saw he didn't even have much to clean. The place was already as clean as it could get (For someone who lives alone and doesn't spend a lot of time at his place) and what needed to be cleaned took her under half an hour. That brings to Elsa's mind that he doesn't keep the place a mess even when he lives alone and doesn't have any friends or family.
Looking around the place, she didn't want to snoop but remembered he said to help herself to whatever could keep her entertained. She looked around and saw he kept a sewing machine where he left a lot of fabric she had to guess was there for his suit. Next to it was some figure of a character she had no idea of what. Some menacing man with what looked to be plastic electricity in his hands.
Looking next to it, she saw there was a coffee cup that looked to be worn down over a few weeks. Sighing, she sat down on the bed, hearing a squeak coming from her gown. Reaching in to see what that could have been, she pulled out what turned out to be a stuffed penguin. It was Sir Jorgenbjorgen. Worn down and covered in stitches, Elsa began to tear up at the reminder of her home and the family she might never see again.
She lost her parents and was flung into this strange new world; she would probably never see her sister again. Would she even recognize her after so long of being apart? They've only seen each other through a door. Never even seen, only the muffled voice through a door.
Now she might never see her sister again. Never see her home again.
But she kept her faith, knowing that Peter would get her home. She doesn't know why, but she feels she can trust him. Maybe because he saved her from all of those guys that ganged up on her. Maybe it was because he has powers like her, meaning he could understand what she's going through, even when she never confessed to having powers.
Or maybe it's their background. Their stories almost being mirrors of one another. Losing the people that they love at a young age and needing to erase themselves from the people they love using magic. Again, she hasn't informed him on that part but knew she was going to need to if his quest to find Strange went sideways.
She was removed from her thoughts when Peter unlocked the door and took off the final notice on his door. Sighing, she could see his quest didn't go so well with the sour look on his face right there.
"I'm sorry. Dr. Strange seems to have left." Peter apologizes and holds the bag up with a small smile. "But I got you some present clothes." He then handed the bag to her and allowed her to take a look. "I got a few different sizes as I didn't know your exact sizes and a small assortment of different size shoes."
"I figured it wouldn't be that easy." Elsa said as she smiled at him for trying and somehow knew that it was never going to be that easy. She took the clothes into the bathroom to change into them and see what would fit her. "Thank you." She said and closed the door to start to change. "What did that note on the door say?"
"Oh...yeah. Turns out my job isn't paying me enough to keep this place, so I need to find somewhere else to live. Hoping I could get you home before this happened." Peter explained to her. "But I actually was offered a place by someone I met in the park."
"Really?" Elsa asked, surprised to hear that. "A place you can afford?"
"More like a roommate situation," Peter explained the situation to her. "The woman's name is Kate Bishop. She's the head of a company named Bishop Security, explained that she's looking for some people to live with. Said she's getting lonely."
"I guess that makes sense," Elsa said through the door. "No one likes to be alone."
"But before I confirmed anything with her, I thought it would be best to talk with you first," Peter said as he leaned on the counter near the door. "How would you feel about it? I mean, you're stuck here so I thought it would be best for you to decide."
"Well, we don't really have an alternative to do, right?" Elsa said as she placed on a fitting pair of jeans. "If you can't afford this place..."
"Yeah, I thought of it. But I could find someone else to help take care of you." Peter offered.
"I think it would be best if we stuck together." Elsa declared as she placed on a short-sleeved blue shirt from the pile that end up not fitting her. "There wouldn't be any good reason to split up." She then found a shirt that did fit and put it on properly and folded up her dress.
"That's true, I guess." Peter supposed she was right there.
Elsa then came out, revealing her new look with her clothes and even her hair now a little loose after her hairstyle started to fall apart due to sleep. He also noticed she put on a sweater over her clothes and it said: just let it go.
"Wow.." Peter had no words for what he was seeing.
"What? Is it too much?" Elsa asked.
"No...you...wow." Peter didn't know what to say. "You look nice."
Elsa blushed as this was the first time she was complimented by a boy before. "Thanks."
"Okay. So...you think we should do it?" Peter asked, going back to the problem at hand.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to look," Elsa said as she went over to the window and sighed before she turned back to Peter. "But...there's something about me you should know."
"What's that?" Peter asked as he pulled up a chair and she sat down on the bed.
Elsa paused as she looked down as she whispered, "You promise to keep this a secret?"
Peter nodded, waiting her to continue.
"When I was a little girl, my sister, Anna, and I would always sneak down actually around this hour to make a snowman, a few snow angels, had snowball fights, ice skating, everything you would do during the winter," Elsa told him with a smile on her face, thinking of the happy memories she has about her and her sister...then she remembered what she did and her smile became a frown. "However, when we were in the middle of playing, I...accidentally struck her the head with my powers. She almost died that day."
Peter knew that look she had on all too well; It was the look you give yourself to say you'll never forgive yourself for something you had done. It was almost the same face he had when he watched May die. But this story started to intrigue him as he thought she was some helpless princess, but she's saying she has powers? He needs a little more of an explanation to understand.
"Well, since you said almost, I take she made it." Peter guesses, hoping he's right.
"Yes, but she now has no memory of the incident, or that I have powers. Said the only way to save her was to erase all memories of it. The...person who helped us, who was a troll, he warned me that my powers have beauty in them and great danger. I needed to learn to control my powers. Otherwise, fear would be my enemy." Elsa continued and Peter was starting to see similarities to their stories.
"Well, that's a dreaded thought for a little girl to have," Peter mumbled to himself, startled at the thought of trolls as he's thinking of something from Lord of the Rings.
"But he wasn't wrong. I could've hurt more people like I did my sister. So, my father closed the gates, lowered the staff, and I had to hide my power and myself in this room. To keep everyone safe, including Anna." Elsa explained as she looked down again.
Peter became a little curious and thought of what she can do. "What is it exactly that you can do?"
Elsa was hesitant but saw she needed to tell the truth if they were going to become trustworthy to one another and began to slowly remove her gloves and waved her hands as snow began to fall from the ceiling and move around as she wished. Peter was shocked at what he was seeing, to say the least.
"Whoa...that's incredible. You can control ice and snow?" Peter guessed her powers as he was looking around the room in amazement.
"Create? Yes. Control? No." Elsa stated that as she placed her gloves back on, just as she did, the snow began to stop.
"So, how long have you had them?" Peter wonders.
"Since I was born," Elsa admitted with a shrug.
"And who's been helping you control it?" Peter asked.
"Nobody," Elsa admitted, nobody really trying to help her control it, more like trying to hide it. "Nobody knew how to really help me and were just helping me conceal it, hide it away."
Peter started to understand what she was saying as he guessed her parents wanted her to hide her powers and not use them. He's heard of similar cases for the uprise in "mutant" sightings since the blip. People with powers that are being shunned by society, even a few by their own parents.
"I understand," Peter assured her and had an idea. "How about this?" He then stood up and saw a way he could finally do some good as Peter Parker. "If all goes well with Kate Bishop, once we get settled, I'll train you to use your powers."
Elsa was surprised to hear that he was willing to help her control her abilities and figured he must be used to helping others that he's willing to help her with her curse.
"You sure?" Elsa asked.
"Hey, I taught myself how to use my powers. I think I can help you." Peter promised and pulled out the card. "So...call Bishop?"
Elsa shrugged and saw it as his call. "It's up to you."
Peter nodded and guessed he should do it. "Okay, I'll let her know." He then stopped and looked up at her. "You have anything against dogs?"
"Dogs?" Elsa asked.
"Bishop has a dog she named Lucky," Peter explained to her.
"I...I've never had a dog before, but I don't have anything against them," Elsa assured him.
Peter nodded and quickly called her. "Kate Bishop."
"Hey, it's Peter Parker." Peter greeted her. "We met in the park?"
"Oh, which one? I met a lot of Peter Parker's in the park." Kate joked. "You wanna discuss my offer?"
"Yeah, me and Elsa, my friend I told you about, we're interested," Peter confirmed. "But would we be able to stop by anytime soon? Check out the place before we make any decision?"
"Yeah, sure. I'm not busy now," Kate assured him. "Think you can make it over here if I give you the address?"
"Sure." Peter guessed and quickly wrote down the address. "Meet you there."
The two then got what they needed, Peter giving Elsa one of his spare coats to wear as they were around the same size and she didn't really need it, it was mostly just for show. They made it out and Peter decided to just walk as they weren't far.
Peter watched as Elsa took in all of the sights and wonders as they walked down the streets. The last time she was out of the castle, she was eight. When she was transported, she was more frightened than anything and couldn't take anything in.
This time around, she was able to take in the lights, the sights, just everything New York had to offer, and Peter saw he needed to take Elsa out on a tour of New York one day to give her the full experience.
But for now, he needed to get them set up with a place to live. And on the way, Peter explained to Elsa how he gave Kate the impression she dreamed she was a princess, but also trying to get back to reality.
That way, she didn't need to tell the real story to Kate until she was ready to explain her true origins to her. Something Elsa was thankful for him thinking ahead on, but also wished he didn't picture her as some crazy person. But it also gives her a cover if she misinterpreted something or didn't understand anything this Kate Bishop told her.
The same night that Elsa was pulled from her universe and Eddie was dragged from his, someone else was also dragged from their universe.
Anna walked down the hall slowly and silently, as she wrapped the edge of her shawl further around her shape.
She stood in front of Elsa's door looking down tears brimming in her eyes as she raised her hand to knock.
"Elsa, please I know you're in there." Anna sang, her voice was ever so slightly cracking, she just wanted her sister to answer.
"People have been asking where you've been." Anna leaned against the door, trying to listen for her sister's answer.
"They say have courage and I'm trying to." Anna looked up at the door, a few stray tears ran down her cheeks. "I'm right out here for you, just let me in."
She slid down to the floor, before pulling her knees closer to her chest.
"We only have each other, it's just you and me." Anna shook her head back and forth, looking up at the ceiling. "What are we going to do?"
Anna began to cry, tears streaking down her face, as she sang her final plea to her sister.
"Do you want to build a snowman?" Her voice cracked, as the words whisper through the door.
Then she felt the ground begin to shake around her. Looking around, she starts to stand up and felt the ground shake again. The walls started to glitch, the family portrait starting to show alternate versions of itself.
One with an older Anna and a younger Elsa.
Another shows a portrait of an older Elsa and Anna beside what looked to be a snowman and a man with a reindeer.
"What?" Anna asked as she started to back away when a blinding light came, and reality began to warp around her. "What's happening!? Elsa!"
That's when Anna felt the ground below her break apart and she fell from the sky, falling into a pile of snow that cushioned her fall.
Groaning, Anna felt her head for any injuries and wondered what happened as she started to get up and looked around to see she was in some alley somewhere.
"Hello?" Someone called, getting Anna to turn and face whoever called her.
Who called her?
Let's just say...it's a familiar face.
(A/N) If you're curious, Elsa's present-day attire is an updated version of her outfit in Ralph breaks the internet, added with some fanart I came across for ideas on her design.
Just a clarification in age, Anna is 15. Elsa's 18.
I did the math:
Elsa's 21 when she became Queen. Three years prior, the parents died, where she was taken from, making her 18.
Anna would be 15 as she's three years younger than Elsa, according to the online sources I came across.
I don't know why I'm mentioning this, I just wanna make sure we're all clear on the ages moving forward.
(A/N) I am getting a lot of mixed comments from everyone on the shipping in this story. I want to make it clear; it could end either way. Elsa X Peter or Peter X Kate. I don't have any preference until I have an idea of how I want this story to end. But...If you're interested in it, I got an idea similar to the stories done by ButterflyBlueEyes where they created a reimagining of their story but kept the plot the same and tweaked a few parts. What if I did something similar to that?
Again, unclear how this will end, but if you truly want it, I could do my own "reimagining" of this story that puts Peter and Kate together, no questions asked. As of now, it's in flux until we get to the end of it.
If you need more clarification, either PM me or check out ButterflyBlueEyes's stories to get an idea of what I mean for more information.
