Chapter Twenty Six: Jane Schroeder

Two days passed. Natasha was at the supermarket with Cynthia and already had a shopping cart in front of her.

"Cynthia... I mean... is it true that you are my mother?" Natasha asked.

"First, look at a photo you took of me when you were a baby, second, why does Marie look like you, third and last, even a DNA test would prove it."

"Okay. I understand it. You're my mother."

"The only thing is that I wanted the... let's call it the firecracker scandal... I wanted the firecracker scandal to blow up later. And then return with Marie to you and your father. But you and Lara, I'm sorry, Lori made a mistake by spying on our stuff.

"What do you mean?"

"The thing with the fireworks or that you and Lori should have interfered with my things?"

"Both?"

"A firecracker explodes. What's that thing doing in your basement?" Cynthia whispered.

"Oh I understand."

"Good. The second one, oh yogurt."

Cynthia put yogurt in the cart.

"Secondly, I had plans. I would have come back in five years."

"Do you want some chips?" Cynthia asked.

"No. I have to watch my weight. And that doesn't help much because my thyroid isn't working properly," said Natascha.

"Oh. Do you have a hormonal disorder?"

"Yes. But I started paying attention to what I eat. I have to be more disciplined. But I've already lost five kilos."

"You know, I know someone who had the same problem. Now she's a beautiful woman, and she's not really plus size. You can be that too."

"I'll do my best." Natasha said.

Cynthia and Natasja came to the refrigerators. Cynthia pulled out several boxes of margarita pizza.

"We need food prepared quickly. Time is important."

The two went to the checkout. After paying, they went to Mike's car and loaded everything into the trunk. Then they got in.

"Okay. So, now we're going home?" Natasha asked.

"Yes. We shouldn't be in public so much." Cynthia said.

"Why are you in a hurry?"

"We are not. But the house is the only place we're safe."

"I understand."

"That's why the gun I gave you is now in your pocket."

"Yes. Because you said that I have to turn anyone who wants to do harm into Swiss cheese... I only killed two people... I still feel terrible about it."

"First of all, the Swiss cheese thing is a wisdom. Second, forget it. There will be much more."

"Oh man..." Natasha said, shaking her head.

The two arrived at the Stevensons' house fifteen minutes later. Natasha and Cynthia got out and went into the living room. Lori, Mike, Marie and Claire were sitting on the couch in the living room.

"We are back." Cynthia said.

"Good. What do you have?" asked Mike.

"Quick cooking food."

"And that means?" Lori asked.

"She bought pizza." said Natasha.

"This is typical runaway food."

"Runaway food?" Claire asked.

"Food that is prepared quickly and gives you time to get through it."

"Or criminal food, because criminals like us like it." said Natascha.

"Natasha, put this stuff in the freezer." Cynthia said.

"Okay, Mom." Natasha went into the kitchen.

"What's up?" Lori asked.

"What do you mean? What was wrong?" asked Cynthia.

"You seem completely different the last two days."

"Yes, Mom. You're acting strange." Marie said.

"I have a bad feeling. I don't know what it is or why, but I have a bad feeling."

Lori stood up, and pointed her Karabiner 31 at Cynthia and closed the bolt.

"You lie! What are you hiding!?"

Cynthia pulled out her gun and pointed it at Lori.

"Nothing! Put the damn gun down!"

"Stop it!" Mike shouted.

"If Blondie puts her damn gun here!" said Cynthia.

"I won't pull it down until she puts the gun away. Marie runs into the kitchen in a panic.

"Great! Look what you did!" Cynthia said angrily.

Marie ran to Natasha and hugged Natasha without arms, and Natasha noticed Marie's worry.

"What are you doing?" Natasha asked confused.

"Too much is happening in the living room." Marie said in a panicked and crying voice.

"Oh my god..." Natasha said in shock.

Natasha walked between Lori and Cynthia. Lori and Cynthia pointed their guns downwards.

"Are you retarded?" Lori asked shocked.

"Do you want to get shot on purpose?" Cynthia yelled.

"Done." Lori said.

"Discharged." Cynthia said.

"Please apologize."

"I'm sorry." Lori said.

Cynthia was silent.

"Sorry, Mom!" Natasha said.

"For an appropriate response? No way."

"Just do it, Kira." Mike said.

"Good, I'm sorry."

"You two should keep some distance from each other." Natasha said.

Lori went into the kitchen. Marie looked at her intimidated.

"I'm sorry Marie." Lori said.

"Why did you have to do that?!" Marie asked angrily and sadly at the same time.

"Your mother said something very suspicious. That's why."

"Do you still wanna find it out and point a gun at her?"

"Yes."

Marie jumped at Lori and started hitting her.

"What are you doing?" Lori asked while holding Marie's fists.

"I'm gonna kill you!"

Lori shoved Marie away. Marie jumped again at Lori and continued hitting her.

"Knock that shit off!" Lori said.

Cynthia and Natasha entered the kitchen.

"Knock it off Marie!" Cynthia said.

Marie stopped hitting Lori, and went to Cynthia.

"I'm sorry." Cynthia said to Lori, and left the kitchen with Marie.

"I didn't know Marie could be so violent." Natasha said.

"Me neither." Lori said.

The doorbell rang. Mike looked trough the spy, and opened. A man who was wearing a baseball cap, black pants and a brown t-shirt was standing in front of him.

"You all have to leave."

"Who are you? And why should we leave."

The man took a FBI badge from his pocket.

"Agent Miller. And you all are in danger."

Lori came out of the kitchen.

"Why are we in danger?" Lori asked.

"Well, you are an intelligent group. But they found you. And in the next two hours, a wave of killers will come."

"Why are you so sure about that?" Cynthia asked, with the scared Marie next to her.

"The NSA has its own ways to know that."

Lori, Mike and Cynthia noticed two Campers in from of the House.

"We need to load all of the Uranium and the Plutonium in these special equipped campers." Agent Miller said.

"You don't understand. We need this stuff." Mike said.

"I fully understand. But for your own safety, you have to do what I say."

Natasha came to them.

"What is going on?"

"We have to leave…" Mike said.

"Oh no." Natasha said worried.

"I recommend that we start loading all of the equipment in these campers." Agent Miller said.

"If we have no choice. We have to agree." Mike said.

"Perfect. I will help you of course."

Mike, Natasha and cynthia went in the basement with Agent Miller. Every Radioactive source, every Geigercounter got Loaded in those special campers. Half an Hour Later, they stood in front of the house with Agent Miller.

"So. Here comes the next part. Mike Stevenson, you go in the first camper with Natasha Stevenson and the raid haired Miss there."

Agent Miller pointed at Claire.

"Miss Kira Stevenson, you are in the second van with Marie Stevenson."

"Miss Lori Loud, you are alone in your own Car."

"Why?" Lori asked.

"Reasons." Agent Miller said.

Miller gave Lori, Mike and Cynthia each a Box and a Letter. Lori Looked in the box, and saw a cell phone. She didn't take it out, and closed the box.

"Why a phone?" Lori asked.

"You have to hide at chosen places. You all have to destroy your current phone and just use this. That's a special phone. When You are allowed to come back, you will receive a message on this phone." Agent Miller said.

Lori saw in this moment in the corner of her eye another agent putting Brown Hair dye and a case for glasses in Loris Car, wich was attached to the trailer. Lori went to her car.

"Why do you put this in my car?"

"You have to use that to hide who you really are." The agent said.

"I have to dye my hair?"

"Obviously you need to."

The agent went to his colleague.

"Take all your important stuff. You have to leave." Agent Miller said.

Lori went in the house of the Stevensons, and took her clothes and her K31. She went back to her car, and put all of her stuff in the trailer with the German AA gun inside, and closed it. In this moment she saw Carol and Becky approaching her.

"Oh no… not now." Lori said.

"Lori. Where have you been?" Carol asked.

"We wanted to take you to the cinema." Becky said.

"You both shouldn't be here." Lori said.

"What are you talking about?" Carol asked.

"That you should go away. It's a bad time."

"Hey. Come on. We wanted to have some fun. Together as friends."

"No. Not now."

Two black vans entered the street.

"Fuck! They are earlier than I thought. General Quarters!" Agent Miller said, and took a pistol out.

Cynthia tinned to Lori, and gave her the STGW 57 in her hand.

"It's serious Lori." Cynthia said, and pulled the lever of the bolt back and let it close.

"What is going on here?" Carol asked fearfully.

"Cover!" Lori yelled as she saw men with Kalashnikovs leaving the vans.

Becky and Carol hid behind the trailer, as gunfire rang out. Lori aimed at the guys, and started firing. Miller started firing too. And a third van came in the street. Lori shot. And hit a man. He immediately was on the ground. A massive shooting began. Windows of the houses broke. Lori pulled the safety lever off the STGW 57 to a position wich showed three bullets. Lori Aimed and shot like a machine gun at those men. She hit one again. She reloaded the magazine, and started firing again. In this moment she saw a guy running towards Carol and Becky. Lori aimed at him and shot him down. His body landed next to Carol and Becky, who looked scared at it, and then at Lori.

"I thought you were a good person." Becky said scared.

"Run." Lori said.

Carol and Becky stood up and did run away. Lori noticed that it started raining. She started hearing a Police siren.

"Get on your cars!" Agent Miller yelled.

Lori went into her car, started it and drove away. She left Royal woods over the country street. Lori panicked like never before. The moment she crossed a bridge that went over a river, she stopped and got out.

"Fuck fuck fuck!"

Lori let a scream out that let her sound like and angel of death.

"What have I done?"

Lori took her phone and made a voice message to her mother.

"Mom. Please never forget that I love you. I love you so much. Thank you for being my mom. You did nothing wrong."

Lori sent the voice message, and then threw the phone in the river. The phone disappeared in the water. Lori got in her car again, and started driving. Away. She drove for two hours straight. In the middle of the forest, more than a hundred kilometers away from Royal woods, she got out. Lori took the letter from Agent Miller, and started reading.

"Miss Lori Loud, because of the affairs you are involved, you have to hide. The location you have to hide is programmed in the GPS of the phone you got from me. Your new Identity is "Jane Schroeder". You are allowed to come back only after I allow it. Take care."

Lori looked at the box. She sat again in her car, and opened the box. Under the phone was a passport. In it was a photo of her, with the name Jane Schroeder. Her new life. Lori started crying. She laid her head on the Steering wheel.

"I screwed up so much."

Lori leaned back in the seat. Her eyes started burning as if she had acid in them. Lori barely opened them while she sobbed. She looked at herself in the windshield mirror. There was a small photo of Bobby. She started crying harder.

"Bobby… I'm so sorry Bobby…"

Lori kept crying. She had to leave. And maybe she would see him never again. No. She couldn't go without saying him goodbye. Lori wiped the tears out of her eyes. She started the engine, and drove to the City of Great Lake City. Lori made a plan in her mind to see him safely. She stopped at the suburbs of Great Lake City. There were many houses, and a tram stop. The station of the RWR. Lori looked around. She found what she needed. A public phone cell. Lori got out, put some coins in it, and dialed Bobby's number. He answered quickly.

"Hello? Roberto Santiago here."

"Hi Bobby. It's me."

"Lori? I thought you didn't want to have to do with me anymore."

"Why do you think that?"

"Because you didn't call me since two weeks. I was devastated."

Lori had to hold her tears back.

"Bobby… listen… meet me at the Tram station Battery-street. In the suburb. Tram Line 111."

"You are here?"

"Yes. But only you can come."

"Why?"

"Because I screwed up really Bobby."

"I come. We will hold together trough this problem."

Bobby hung up. Lori knew it wouldn't be like Bobby thought. Lori sat in her car again, and started waiting. She looked again in the windshield mirror. Her eyes were red from crying. Bobby's car stopped in front of her car half an hour later. Bobby got out and opened the door of Loris car. He sat down and closed the door.

"What's wrong babe?" Bobby said carefully.

"I screwed up Bobby. I really screwed up." Lori said sobbing.

"What happened?" Lori started crying again.

"There were gangsters… we had to defend ourselves… I'm so deep in criminal affairs that the FBI has to take me in safety."

"What?" Bobby asked shocked.

"I said it… I really screwed up."

"Lori…" Bobby said sad.

"Bobby… we have to do something."

Lori started the engine, and drove in an alley. She turned the engine off.

"Lori? What are you doing?"

Lori opened her seatbelt, climbed to Bobby and sat on his lap, facing towards him. Bobby looked in her eyes.

"What are you doing Lori?"

Lori gave him a kiss.

"Bobby, we will make something that binds us together forever."

Lori took her pants off. Bobby understood. Both did what they never did before. They had sex. It wasn't like Lori expected. It wasn't that positive feeling she imagined. She had strong feelings for Bobby, that wich did hurt. Both kissed each other. Lori and Bobby never thought their first time would be in a car in an alley. No. None of them thought that. After five minutes, they were done. Both were exhausted. They looked in each other's eyes.

"Lori… you aren't on birth control… you…"

Lori started crying.

"Bobby… I love you. But we have to say goodbye."

Bobby also started crying.

"I love you Lori… you don't know how much I love you."

Both hugged tightly. Bobby started stroking Loris hair. It made her sob more, because Bobbys way of comforting her was always wonderful for her. They whispered in each other's ears.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Bobby opened the door, and Lori stood up, putting her pants on. Bobby got out of her car, pulling his pants up. They looked at each other.

"Bobby…" Lori whispered.

"Yes?"

"Tell my family that I love them. Tell Carol and Becky that I'm sorry."

"I will." Bobby whispered.

Lori closed her eyes.

"Bobby…"

"Yes?"

Lori had to hold her tears back.

"Please find a girl that treats you better then I did."

"You did everything right."

"We wouldn't be here if that's true."

Lori walked to the driver side door and looked a last time at Bobby.

"Thanks that I was your girlfriend… you were the best boyfriend I could have ever have."

Lori got in, and started the engine.

"Lori…" Bobby said, but Lori pressed the gas, and drove away.

"I love you Lori…"

Bobby closed the buttons of his pants really fast, and ran on the street. He watched Loris car with the trailer driving away. He yelled after her.

"I will never forget you. I love you Lori."

Lori turned in another street, and disappeared.
