Happy's Favorite Dish

Zeref snuck into Natsu's room, making sure his silent mouse spell was active. Okay, so that wasn't the name of the spell, but it allowed him to walk as quietly as a mouse. So who cared what the name was? Anyway, he walked up to the sleeping, blue cat first. He reached out and gently laid two fingers on his neck, right over his voice box. He muttered a spell that would act as an activation for the curse he planed for Natsu this week.

Once the activation spell was in place, Zeref reached out his other hand and laid it on Natsu's chest. He didn't have to say anything since the curse was connected to the word that Happy was to say to activate it. Once that was done, he took a step back and watched the two sleeping figures for a moment with a smirk on his face. He quickly added one more spell on Happy that was also connected to Natsu's curse, and that spell, in particular, was where the fun would begin.

Zeref turned around and slipped a note into Happy's green bag, the one he normally kept his fish in. The note was peeking out ever-so-slightly for someone to find later. After the note was in place, the dark wizard left the house and teleported back to his room. He grabbed a remote and pressed record at the TV screen that showed Natsu and Happy. The camera will follow them, being keyed to Natsu's magic, and record everything that was to happen. So even if Zeref missed something, he could look back and re-watch the whole thing. Even if he didn't miss a thing, he'd still replay the recording and watch the chaos ensue all over again.

The black-haired man laid the remote back down and climbed into bed. It was 3 AM and he needed sleep; that way he could enjoy watching Natsu's torment without pause. He chuckled as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Natsu woke to Happy waking him up this time. The little, blue cat kept pushing at his face, telling him to get up because he slept in late and they had things to do at the guild. Natsu tried to remember what that thing was he was talking about, but couldn't for the life of him. He got up while rubbing his eyes tiredly. He's sure he'll remember what it was they were supposed to do when he got to the guild.

"Hurry up, Natsu! Food is waiting!" Happy exclaimed excitedly.

Natsu looked more awake at the mention of food. He got off his hammock and followed Happy out the door quickly. He was hungry, and he could go for some stake, or even fire right about now.

The two ran for the guild, Natsu half expected someone to stop them, but they didn't. The guildhall itself was what made Natsu pause. It was decorated with flowers and stuff. Were they celebrating something?

They see everyone outside, along with some of the townsfolk. Why was Fairy Tail selling flowers? It wasn't Earthland day, after all.

"Natsu, you here!" called out Lucy, who ran up to him. He looked at her with confusion. Lucy chuckled. "What's with that expression? Did you forget what we were doing today?"

He did, so he nodded his head to confirm.

"The Mayor came by yesterday asking if we could sell all these flowers for him. He wanted to do this because it was his daughter's dream to sell the flowers she grew with Fairy Tail right beside her."

"What about the money?" asked Happy.

"Is money all you think about? No, wait... it's also food. The money is going to be split. The guild gets half, but it's going to the guild, and the daughter, Amber, gets the other half," explained Lucy. "Since there are a lot of flowers, we're also offering food. So knowing you two, you're hungry. You'll find the food over there." Lucy pointed over to the food stand where Mira was passing out food with Elfman's help.

"Thanks, Lucy!" Natsu and Happy joyfully said in union. They ran over to the food and Natsu began to pile meat onto his plate. Happy was looking for his favorite food, but couldn't seem to find it.

"Hey Mira, where's the fish?" he asked, looking all around the table.

Natsu paused, not because of what Happy said, but because of what he was feeling after what Happy said. His body started jerking and shrinking, gaining everyone's attention. They all looked at him with concern, but he was too freaked out to be paying attention to them. He could no longer feel his legs, and his arms shrunk down, along with his fingers. His body felt cold and slimy, and the ground was coming closer.

'What is going on?!' his panicked mind cried out. When whatever was happening stopped, he looked up to see everyone looking at him in shock, except for Happy. No, Happy was eyeing him up like he was his favorite food in the world, handed to him by the gods themselves.

"FFFFFIIIIISSSHHHH!" Happy cried out in absolute delight and then reached out with his fuzzy paws to grab at him. Natsu didn't have time to process what his friend had said, he had to get away from the mad cat first! He started to use his tiny arms to run. He ran as fast as he could, but the blue, evil, hungry cat was gaining on him. Natsu was left with no choice but to zigzag to dodge all of his friend's attempts to eat him. Things were getting knocked down, but this time it wasn't him causing the destruction, but Happy, who was the less destructive member in the guild.

"SOMEONE SAVE MEEE!" Natsu cried in dismay, knowing that Zeref had something to do with this, and he was right when Gray caught Happy, handed him over to Erza, and held up a folded piece of paper.

"I found this in Happy's bag. It says this: You will probably already be a fish by the time you read this, but the moment your little, blue friend says "fish", you will turn into one, and he will not be able to resist chasing you. Don't worry, he is unable to eat you. That fish you are has very strong scales. You would need to have a monster's jaw to be able to penetrate it. -Zeref"

Natsu had stopped running when he noticed Happy was no longer chasing him and heard what Gray read. 'So this WAS Zeref's doing!' he shouted mentally. He crawled over to a table and climbed on top of it. Once on top, he looked around for the camera. He knew there had to be one, he just had to find it. He couldn't see it, and he couldn't find it, but he was sure it could hear him. With a deep breath, Natsu shouted, "ZEREF, BY THE TIME I'M DONE WITH YOU, YOU WILL LOOK LIKE A MONSTER NO ONE CAN IDENTIFY AND HAVE YOU CHASED BY SOMETHING THAT WANTS TO MATE WITH YOU!"

All members of Fairy Tail and the townsfolk all stared at the talking pink fish in shock. They knew that Zeref was evil, but holy shoot! They didn't think the dark wizard deserved THAT!

Erza finished tying up Happy so Natsu would be safe from the rabid cat. Once she was done that, she asked, "So what kind of fish is Natsu, Master?"

"Hmm...I'm not sure, but it might be best to put him in water for the time being just in case," said Makarov. Mira grabbed a bowl and filled it up with water and placed it on the table for Natsu to climb in. Once Natsu was inside, someone with a fisherman's hat came walking up.

"I think I could find out what he is. Zeref's note said his scales were strong, and only a monster can pierce through it?" Gray gave a nod. "Well, he has legs as well, and his pink color is darker than his normal hair color, making him almost brown. I believe that Natsu is a land fish."

"A land fish?" asked Lucy.

"They are rare and only found close to volcanos. The fish around there had to adapt when the volcano blew and created land. So they grew legs and lungs that can breathe air," said the fisherman.

"Great, so I'm stuck like this until midnight, and Happy is going nuts trying to eat me!" whined Natsu, who looked over at his crazy friend. Happy was struggling to break free from his bonds while staring at him with big globs of drool falling out of his mouth like a waterfall. 'That is gross...' thought Natsu, feeling a little sick.

Natsu turned his head away from the terrifying scene in favor of watching people buy more flowers and listen to conversations. Some of the townsfolk were talking about Natsu's bad luck.

"Zeref, as in the darkest wizard of all time, has been pulling pranks on Natsu? I thought that someone like him would do something far worse if he was bored."

"Yeah, I thought so too, but I guess the man is a prankster deep down."

"That just makes him more terrifying. My son is a prankster, and he is a nightmare when he and his friends get into their prank wars. Glitter was everywhere. I'm cleaning that up."

"Speaking of glitter, I think there is some in your hair."

"Why does that not surprise me?"

Natsu chuckled for a moment but then froze. He hoped that Zeref didn't hear about glitter. The last thing the dragon slayer turned fish needed was Zeref putting glitter on him.

"FIIIIISSSHHH!" Natsu snapped his head around to see Happy had escaped his bonds and right above him with his mouth gaping open like a shark. Natsu screamed, but since he was a fish it sounded like a squeal. He tried to run, but it was already too late. Happy landed on him and gripped him with his claws to hold him in place. He felt Happy's small, sharp teeth biting down on him, but they didn't hurt, so Zeref wasn't lying about that. There was a problem about this that made this situation worse than being eaten though. While Happy was chewing on him, his slobbery drool was getting all over him and soaking into his scales and water bawl.

"HAPPY, GET OFF!" Natsu shouted in horror and disgusts. He struggled as must as he could with others trying to pry the cat's mouth off him, but Happy was not budging. His grip was death-like. Erza had even tried to knock the cat out, but it wasn't working.

While everyone tried to help Natsu, the dragon slayer plotted another part of his plan to get back at Zeref. 'You will regret this, Zeref. Mark my words...'

I have to say, this was much better than the last chapter! :) Poor Natsu! X'D

Zeref: No, we turned you into a merman last time, not a fish. :)

Enj/Dark: Yes, so this is a new prank.

Natsu: You had Happy try to eat me! D=

Zeref: Which is why we made a new kind of fish that Happy couldn't eat. You'll be fine, Natsu.

Enj/Dark: Yes, it's not like it's the end of the world or anything.

Natsu: Why do you two hate me? :(

Enj/Dark: We don't. We love you! *heart*
