[Quabe Ular]: "This is a sanctioned operation, approved by the Oversight Division. It is very legal."
[EM]: "I want a lawyer."
[QU]: "Considering that you know as well as I do that you've been able to call one, I feel you also know that a lawyer wouldn't help."
[EM]: "I've been a loyal analyst for years. This treatment is absurd, especially from someone like you."
[QU]: "I'm sorry you feel that way."
[EM]: "I did your little questioning already. Why am I still here?"
[QU]: "Because you responded poorly to the questioning and lied multiple times about your connections to other confirmed traitors. We know about the neo-CIA entities which were coordinating with other rogue shadow agencies."
[EM]: "So? I know nothing about them."
[QU]: "You are lying now. You're lucky that you aren't working for the aliens otherwise there isn't anything I could do to help you. Since you're simply…misguided, I can ensure that you spend a few years in prison. But only if you come clean right here, right now."
[EM]: "Who do you even work for?"
[QU]: "ADVENT."

[EU]: "Australian? Odd lack of an accent."
[QU]: "Accents are a liability in the field."
[EU]: "Right, now look – I don't know how the Australians do it, but we took an oath to serve and protect the United States of America. Not the Russians, not the Chinese, definitely not ADVENT. Only the USA. Now I'm not saying that was me, but some people take their oaths seriously."
[QU]: "The United States is part of ADVENT. The oath remains intact. And by protecting ADVENT, you protect the United States."
[EU]: "That's a lie and you know it. ADVENT just came in, said it was the world leader, and strong-armed everyone into joining it. It wasn't even like it was a popular vote or something! Our spineless president basically just threw away sovereignty just because they asked! ADVENT isn't any more legitimate than another foreign entity."
[QU]: "And that is why you sought to undermine ADVENT?"
[EU]: "I'm not admitting to anything. Simply…playing devil's advocate."
[QU]: "That doesn't work when you're under psionic surveillance."
[EU]: "Yeah. Like you wouldn't just smear me without your purple magic."
[QU]: "To make myself perfectly clear – I would prefer a confession. It would make my job and your procession easier. But if you want to go before an Arbiter and have them sift through your memories to be entered into official evidence, then I'm happy to oblige."
[EU]: "You'd better prepare for that, buddy. I'm not going down without a fight."
[QU]: "Noted. Answer me a question though – why are you willing to consider undermining ADVENT during an alien invasion? What could possibly justify such actions?"
[EU]: "Since we're being hypothetical – those people you're worried about aren't undermining you. They just aren't loyal to you, and they have a better understanding of true loyalty than you ever will. They'd be fine with joining as allies against the aliens, but forced consolidation under one totalitarian dictatorship? Nah. Sorry it hurt your feelings to know ADVENT isn't worshipped by every Human you forcibly converted."
[QU]: "I am truly stung. Well, I presume you know what will happen next?"
[EU]: "I get paraded before a judge and mind-raped to 'prove' I'm guilty? Then sentenced to life in prison?"
[QU]: "You will be questioned before a judge and examined by an Arbiter. Your guilt or innocence will be determined when evidence is presented. Your sentence will be execution due to your foreign connections."
[EU]: "Wait – you can't just execute me!"
[QU]: "It is allowed based on your crimes, admit to them or not."
[EU]: "I want a lawyer now."
[QU]: "We'll allow you to contact one. I will warn you that you might have trouble paying for one since your assets are frozen."

[QU]: "Standard protocol for all agents under arrest. Nothing personal."
[EU]: "How am I supposed to defend myself?"
[QU]: "By telling the truth. If you can't do that, I can't help you. We both know the truth, Ellie, and if you wish to die for a cause that will never materialize, I cannot help you. Think carefully before you decide to go down this path. I can help you – but only if you cooperate. Understand that we will tear your mind apart once you are found guilty to find out your associates. One way or another, you cannot protect yourself or others."

We have continued to closely monitor the actions which have recently been initiated by ADVENT Intelligence and the Oversight Division which, while seeming to have originally targeted the organization itself for insider threats, their mandate continues to spread and has significant implications for our capabilities against ADVENT moving forward.
This is an event which has fallen to the background in the Human media cycle, in light of the ongoing conflict and focus on battlegrounds such as Florida. We suspect that this is at least partially intentional, as if anyone pays attention, the sheer scope and number of arrests being publicly being made are enough to make one question how firm the loyalty to ADVENT is even within the organization.
INSTIGATING EVENT: There are a number of events which could have instigated an investigation on this level. The most plausible theory is that this operation has been in the planning stages for some time. The level of coordination, resources, and targets indicate that this was a plan being executed, and not standard ADVENT efficiency.
Not even ADVENT could put together an investigation on this scale within days.
This indicates a few things – most notably that there are members in ADVENT who are suspicious of Chancellor Vyandar and her associates (former EXALT). If we had to properly speculate as to the primary target, it was to determine the level of influence EXALT had – if any – over ADVENT. Considering that Chancellor Vyandar is still in power, it is likely they determined she did not pose a threat to ADVENT.
However, what prompted the investigation to start can be linked to when Patricia made her ill-advised speech to the Human population implying Saudia as a member of EXALT. That was likely deemed sufficient evidence to begin an investigation. While it is possible it is a coincidence, the likelihood of such, as well as the fact that we can find no other instigating event in that timeframe, makes it unlikely.
METHODOLOGY: Very simple and effective.
ADVENT Intelligence already had a list of people to speak to, and they were questioned before a psionic interrogator, tested for drugs, substances, and implants, genetically tested for potential modification and species identification. This full-scope investigation is capable of rooting out traitors, undermining agents, criminals, aliens, and machines.
What ADVENT is most interested in is using their initial suspects as springboards to their associates, believing that soon they will be able to build a network of dissidents. While this is nothing new, the capabilities of psionics make it extremely simple to put together, without having to rely on the word of the suspect themselves.
It is unknown if ADVENT has a limit or cap on this investigation, though considering that they are close to finishing ADVENT Intelligence and appear to be preparing to transition to investigating the rest of ADVENT, it appears that this investigation will only end when every single dissident, traitor, and spy has been captured or dislodged.
We expect it to be effective, and there are currently no reliable means of subverting ADVENT if someone is under investigation.
TARGETS: There are a few target groups, which will be listed in order of priority:
EXALT: This is very likely to be the original target, and had since ballooned into something far larger. What exactly tipped off individuals in ADVENT to the existence of EXALT prior to Patricia's implication is unknown, though it stands to reason that many prominent officials were suspicious of the immediate rise of ADVENT and people they had never heard of being installed into positions of importance.
The scope of the investigation appears to be determining if the loyalty of EXALT personnel is to ADVENT or prior EXALT leadership. As of now a majority of EXALT personnel who have been interviewed have returned to their previous positions, indicating that their loyalty now is indeed to ADVENT, though part of this could be due to Chancellor Vyandar retaining her position, although at the same time, other major EXALT figures have been demoted, such as former Director Elizabeth Falka.
Alien: While the inside threat posed by EXALT exists, ADVENT is obviously concerned with the possibility of alien infiltration, which of course we have attempted to cultivate. We don't have many actually modified operatives within ADVENT, though the few there risk being captured indefinitely.
REPLICA-class Custodians are most at risk, as their programming will not enable them to perform traditional surveillance in a way that avoids scrutiny. These machines are also at risk due to being invisible to psions despite outward appearances. They are likely to be found easily and quickly.
As a result, all REPLICA Custodians have been temporarily recalled.
Our own networks of coopted Humans are also at risk, though fortunately we had the foresight to have multiple teams acting independently of each other, and thus if one is compromised, the other ones may endure. Though with the thoroughness of ADVENT, we have begun extracting high-profile and useful Human proxies before they can be questioned.
National Loyalists: This appears to have been a surprise to some in ADVENT Intelligence based on intercepted reports. Between EXALT and compromised Humans, the number of national loyalists who had formed shadow agencies significantly outnumbered the aforementioned groups.
Notably, they were all centered around agencies and militaries of old government nations, prior to assimilation into ADVENT. These include mostly intelligence agencies such as the CIA, NSA, FBI, MSS, and Mossad. However, some foreign militaries and governments also had small groups, such as a couple American military branches, British and Chinese government officials, and more.
These were small groups for the most part, though the major intelligence shadow agencies had numbers in the hundreds. They appeared to be less undermining ADVENT as much as preparing for an opportunity to eventually overthrow it later. The goals of these entities are not clear to us, though have given ADVENT plenty of work to do in cleaning them out.
IMMEDIATE IMPACT: The bad news is that this has disrupted our intelligence efforts – specifically against ADVENT Intelligence – significantly. It is very unlikely that we will be able to penetrate successfully for six months at minimum, and it is extremely advised that we recall and extract all operatives and assets before they are captured.
This effectively makes us blind to the internal workings of ADVENT and we will need to rely on other sources for determining ADVENT Intelligence activity, strategy, and doctrine. We will need to determine a means of subverting ADVENT Intelligence in light of these new limitations.
At the same time, it should be noted that ADVENT Intelligence operations are also going to be degraded for presumably the length of this investigation. A significant number of agents were recalled and the majority of the agency has turned towards internal monitoring, auditing, and investigating. This will make ADVENT Intelligence less effective beyond their own walls for the foreseeable future.
Figures throughout ADVENT such as Elizabeth Falka have also been suspended or removed from their position, and some of them are unlikely to be reinstated. While ADVENT doesn't have a small pool of individuals to pull from as replacements, it will disrupt their activities for a short while as the divisions and agencies reorient themselves to new leadership.
LONG-TERM IMPACT: Difficult to confidently determine at this juncture, but there are a number of likely possibilities.
The first is that ADVENT will doubtless be taking measures not only to purge dissidents and infiltrators, but also to prevent them from entering in the first place. This will likely include mandatory psionic testing, regular physical and genetic testing, random inspection, and other means that will effectively make it impossible to infiltrate via traditional methods.
At the same time, this will continue to take up ADVENT resources and attention, as well as limiting their potential hiring pool and extending the time needed to bring and maintain new individuals within the organization. If this is applied to the rest of ADVENT, it could lead to a slightly slower organization as a whole due to an increased focus on insider threat operations.
The likely confirmation of Ian Powell as Director of ADVENT Intelligence is likely to cause a significant shift in the priorities of the organization. Powell is a competent and dangerous individual as well as a master of counterintelligence. His leadership is likely to lead to an organization that can't do as much simultaneously, but at the same time excels at the operations it focuses on.
Assuming that the rest of ADVENT adopts similar anti-infiltration measures, we could see a significant drop in acquiring intelligence which would severely hamper our capabilities. Long-term infiltration operations could become effectively obsolete depending on how thorough ADVENT intends to be.
ADAPTION AND OPPORTUNITIES: Despite the issues raised by a shift in ADVENT Intelligence doctrine, this does not mean that ADVENT Intelligence or ADVENT are incapable of being subverted, only that our current methods and operations are insufficient to conduct reliable work to achieve sufficient results.
Operations should be shifted to short-term penetration and computational subversion of networks and stations through infiltrating agents. While these are far more risky, they potentially allow us to acquire greater chunks of critical information in shorter spans of time, despite their potentially lethal nature. Exploiting weak points in ADVENT security outside that which could raise concerns with ADVENT oversight could also be utilized, such as coercion, poison and drugs, bribery, and other methods of handling Humans.
If long-term infiltration is to be attempted, our first operations should be to learn how the psionic interrogation process is conducted, such as the extent and limitations. We should also shift from gene-shaped agents to Human clones or captives which have been psionically conditioned to be unaware of their purpose.
This would allow them to bypass traditional signs of infiltration in a psionic interrogation, though there would be deep-seated commands which would have them report to us at certain times. Utilizing something akin to the Manchurian Restraints should also be considered. While such investment would be expensive, this remains our most reliable option for infiltrating an ADVENT entity in the era of Ian Powell.
ADVENT could easily become overconfident and believe they cannot be undermined. We should play into this as much as possible, even as we work to subvert them all the same.

In recent days ADVENT officials have publicly confirmed that there are large-scale investigations taking place within ADVENT, and specifically ADVENT Intelligence. Reports originally surfaced when multiple individuals found themselves or their spouses, children, or friends under suspicion and brought to answer questions before ADVENT.
Most of the time, it seemed that when ADVENT had someone under suspicion they questioned them when they came in for work. "I didn't know what had happened," said one wife of an individual who was arrested. "He works late sometimes, especially with the war. But when it got to two…three days…I knew something was wrong. All ADVENT would tell me was that he was under suspicion for criminal activity. They didn't even tell me what it was!"
The secrecy surrounding the arrests and investigations is a point of contention with many families who've found their loved ones effectively spirited away. Some eventually are released, though none were able to give clarification, likely out of fear of retribution for what might happen. Some have not been released and only the barest details have been given to their families.
Recently this protocol has changed, with Acting Director of ADVENT Intelligence, Ian Powell, releasing an official statement in conjunction with the Oversight Division and Peacekeepers.
"Over these past few weeks, ADVENT Intelligence with the support of the Oversight Division and elements of the Peacekeepers have been conducting a large-scale internal investigation of ADVENT Intelligence and other ADVENT bodies for alien and foreign infiltration. We have uncovered a significant number of individuals who were working to undermine and subvert ADVENT, either for the Ethereal Collective or other foreign powers. They are currently being sentenced and we will be releasing more details in the future."
Following this announcement, a number of families were informed that their loved ones under suspicion were found guilty and were to be punished according to ADVENT law. They were provided a detailed explanation of the crimes, and allowed to see them before sentencing. Given that they were sentenced, families were not able to provide lawyers or other legal counsel to them.
The punishments for the individuals ADVENT have released are notably harsh, though consistent with ADVENT law concerning inside threats, leakers, and traitors. The majority were slated for execution. A minority were sentenced to the experimentation labs. Only a very few were sentenced to ten years in prison, which ADVENT explained as the result of cooperation with ADVENT investigators.
The mood inside ADVENT now differs depending on who one talks to. Some are pleased that ADVENT is going after individuals who are trying to hurt ADVENT from the inside, but others are concerned about how extensively ADVENT is going after people. There is some tangible fear that they will be caught in the purge if they happen to be associated with the wrong person.
"Everyone is uneasy," an employee of ADVENT Logistics admitted. "It's not because everyone is guilty, but because that's just how investigations are. People get nervous when people are hunting for criminals. The fact that they've caught so many…it makes people paranoid and uneasy."
ADVENT has notably been open about the effects of this investigation, sanctioning employees to talk to media outlets provided it was cleared and approved before publishing. The Acting Director has also made a number of appearances to give updates and explanations in the unprecedented operation – that was going after some major individuals.
"The investigation is still ongoing," Powell said. "But there was no one above suspicion. We've found high-level individuals with questionable answers. Some of them were compromised one way or another, and they will be brought to justice. We intend to do this right, and will not release their names or outcomes until they have been appropriately sentenced."
When asked about the potential impact to the war if ADVENT Intelligence remains embroiled in investigation, he downplayed the ramifications. "The extent to which our investigation has spread out warrant a swift and radical solution. Our enemies have exploited vulnerabilities we are only now fixing. We will be working to provide our warfighters with critical information, but if we have traitors in our midst, anything we do is subject to compromise. This course of action is necessary for the safety of not only our soldiers – but also our citizens."
"ADVENT Intelligence bears an enormous responsibility to you," he finished. "We are responsible for keeping our citizens safe, and maintaining your trust in us. Our integrity is important, and spies, traitors, and the saboteurs throw this into jeopardy. Do not be concerned about us. It is now under control."

Subject: Current Status and Operational Success
OVERVIEW: The current investigation into potentially unreliable and subversive elements within ADVENT Intelligence and other significant ADVENT bodies was officially launched several weeks ago for the purposes of finding and uprooting individuals who could pose a significant threat to ADVENT security.
This investigation was officially approved with the required scope after comments Harbinger and noted traitor Patricia Trask made concerning the compromise of major ADVENT figures and institutions, alleging control by a secretive organization with goals and motives independent of ADVENT. Upon the approval of both the Chancellor, former Director Elizabeth Falka, Chief Overseer Watkins, and Chief Stein, it was launched with the accepted mandate.
The investigation has proceeded since that point.
PRELIMINARY RESULTS: Initial findings have proven exceptionally successful at uncovering major subversive networks throughout ADVENT Intelligence, and ADVENT as a whole. We have conducted interviews across 80% of ADVENT Intelligence as of the time of this writing, and have found approximately 4% of personnel were compromised to some degree.
Based on interviews and interrogations of the compromised personnel, we have been able to identify other individuals we might otherwise not have considered, due to placement, status, or location. There were additional elements that existed outside ADVENT itself, making it very unlikely they would have been discovered traditionally.
However, what we have also learned is that the extent of this corruption and subversive behavior is prevalent throughout multiple ADVENT institutions, not just ADVENT Intelligence. There are networks large and small that are far more widespread than we originally assumed. As such, we will need to expand the scope of this investigation or ensure that parallel ones are running to seize this opportunity to rid ADVENT of traitorous behavior once and for all.
SIGNIFICANT CLEARED PERSONNEL: Since the start of the investigation, we have cleared some high-ranking personnel who were linked to subversive elements from the start. Overall, we are fortunate that these individuals were cleared and operations will not be significantly impacted due to their questioning:
Chancellor Saudia Vyandar: Chancellor Vyandar was very cooperative with the investigation, and while we did not believe she was a subversive element, the fact that she had a very long past connected to the rogue faction of EXALT was something which needed to be fully explored. After conducting interviews with Vyandar and multiple associates, there is nothing to indicate that Chancellor Vyandar intends to use or undermine ADVENT for her own ends or those of EXALT.
Her past as the Director of EXALT does raise concerns about her credentials and past behavior, along with the founding of ADVENT itself. This is a concern which does not relate to the scope of this investigation. At this moment we do not recommend Chancellor Vyandar answer for her time in EXALT until circumstances are permitting.
Elizabeth Falka: The former Director of ADVENT Intelligence was found to be, as the interviewer classified her as, 'damaged'. Prior records showed that she had not undergone a psychological evaluation since the founding of ADVENT, and it was unlikely EXALT regularly conducted these.
Over the past few months there have been questions raised about her decisions and competence as it relates to operations. While some of this can be attributed to mismanagement or simply poor decision making, Elizabeth Falka is not in a stable psychological state despite appearances to the country.
She feels extreme guilt at some of the actions she performed during her time managing EXALT's intelligence organ, including instigating the collapse of the Brazilian government (and subsequent military takeover) at the direction of the current Director (Saudia Vyandar) to cause damage to XCOM.
She has an adverse reaction to Chancellor Vyandar, and has an innate fear of her and as such has been driven to find ways of, in her view, appeasing her. This has contributed to a downward spiral where poor decisions have a compounding effect, increasing her stress and anxiety which she's managed with drugs and what can only be described as sheer will, which has contributed to her continually falling performance.
She does not pose a threat to ADVENT, and we recommend she be placed into immediate counseling and psychological treatment, and replaced as Director of ADVENT Intelligence.
Richard Tygan: The leading geneticist as it turns out was an unwitting accomplice to the EXALT conspiracy, expressing noted confusion and lack of recognition to the name or purpose of EXALT. Considering the more ethical bend to Dr. Tygan, it is likely that EXALT employed deception to acquire his services, as telling him the truth may have resulted in outright rejection or exposure.
Dr. Tygan has been cleared and has returned to work. He is reliable.
Darian Eridan: Similar to the others on this list, the purported head of the Eridan family was not found to be acting against ADVENT or ADVENT interests. There does remain a concern that he does not belong in his position as the Chief Manager of ADVENT Research and Development, as he primarily specializes in psychology and a few minor sciences.
At the same time, his records show that he is an excellent manager, which at that level is arguably more important than relevant scientific expertise. We have determined that he poses no risk to ADVENT and have forwarded his specific case to the Oversight Division to determine if it is appropriate for him to remain in his previous role.
If he is deemed unfit for his position, we recommend he be transferred to a department which takes advantage of his management or psychological skills.
Feng Mercado: Interestingly, it was Feng Mercado who provided us with a significant number of names which could be considered individuals of wavering loyalty to ADVENT. As it turned out, all the names he had provided were already names he had submitted to the Oversight Division for review, as he was concerned they had questionable loyalty. Now we know why it wasn't more explicit was that it could expose his EXALT credentials.
With this no longer a significant issue, Dr. Mercado happily provided the names of the individuals who had apparently sought him out as an alternative to Saudia, who these dissidents considered a traitor. He rejected them, but remained aware of the internal conspiracy, though was uncertain how to properly handle it.
This action speaks for itself, as after interviews conducted, we can confirm that Dr. Mercado poses no threat to our interests and objectives. He has returned to his position and we continue acting on the information he provided.
MAJOR CELLS AND SUBVERSIVE ELEMENTS DISCOVERED: While we expected to find either EXALT loyalists or alien infiltrators, we were notably surprised to learn that there were a large number of national loyalists connected to previously existing intelligence agencies, militaries and governments. These have been found and are in the process of being demolished. The largest ones are listed as follows:
Alien Collaborators/Infiltrators: While the level of penetration by alien elements was limited, they nonetheless were able to recruit, coerce, or manipulate Humans into willingly or unwillingly gathering information, conducting sabotage, or otherwise having influence over critical ADVENT operations.
A number of modified aliens and robotic units (defined as REPLICA-class Custodians) were able to be inserted into low-level positions in ADVENT, and conduct basic surveillance and intelligence gathering. The operations were sophisticated, and we suspect the Zararch is responsible for having them extracted quickly. We were unfortunately unable to prevent over half of identified and unidentified alien elements and assets from escaping.
Nonetheless, we are certain that there is no more alien influence within ADVENT Intelligence, nor will there be in ADVENT soon enough.
EXALT Loyalists: Despite the apparent efforts of EXALT leadership to fully integrate their personnel into ADVENT, there does appear to be a small number who have rejected firm integration and believe that Chancellor Vyandar made a mistake. As of now there appears to be no concrete plan for what the EXALT loyalists want, but they are unhappy with what Saudia has done, particularly not consolidating her authority and placing non-EXALT individuals in positions of authority, based upon merit.
Notably, this information further cleared Chancellor Vyandar, and reinforced her commitment and loyalty to ADVENT – not EXALT. Nonetheless it was not a popular path with the loyalists, and to some extent this is due to jealousy. These people were aware of secrets that the world was blind to, and now they are no longer 'special'.
They are against the aliens, but seem to believe EXALT should have been given more power or otherwise had more influence than it currently does. Dissolving EXALT in particular incised them, especially since many appear to believe she is being controlled by the Commander of XCOM.
The Chancellor has requested that they be decisively punished. We support that recommendation wholeheartedly.
Neo-CIA: This could technically be classified as the 'rogue intelligence community', but seeing as how former CIA officials – working with expunged elements of the former American government – are running everything, it can be properly called a neo-CIA. Albeit one that has no clear vision, few people, and fewer resources.
Right now, in true pragmatic CIA fashion, they are playing along with the war and intended to see it through to the end, assisting ADVENT along the way. Assuming victory was coming, throughout the war they intended to recruit, blackmail, or manipulate individuals across all levels of ADVENT, in preparation for a later coup.
How this coup would be accomplished is unknown, but what is known is that the neo-CIA planned to reestablish the United States (or "American") government one way or another. They appear to be open to only possessing an equivalent territorial size, but there appears to be some internal debate on if they wanted to preserve any part of ADVENT.
This group included largely CIA, but also FBI, NSA, and DIA elements placed in various areas of ADVENT. All individuals connected to them have been arrested and are in the process of being fully investigated.
Neo-Mossad: In what should not be a major surprise, the Mossad operatives folded into ADVENT Intelligence have not proven to be the most reliable. Despite their numbers being fewer they were able to hide and shield themselves exceptionally well through proxies, unknown agents, and a significantly large network of sources.
At this moment the actual ringleaders have fled, having maintained a significant number of degrees of separation so when they saw their networks start falling, they immediately left. Due to absences, we can guess who they were and are working to appropriately hunt them down. Only a few true Mossad operatives were captured, and they are currently being interrogated for additional details.
We are uncertain as to the goals or intentions of this group, but they were clearly subverting ADVENT resources, personnel, and secrets for their own ends, and until they are recaptured, they pose a threat to us, as well as serving as a valuable source of information should they be captured by Collective forces.
Neo-Chinese Party: While the Communist Party all died in Beijing, their influence still remains within the people they indoctrinated. It was likely too much to hope that the Chinese would adapt to a non-Party government, but that unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case. This was definitely the largest and most poorly developed network we were able to discover and penetrate.
With a lack of actual Party leadership, it was a confused mess in the end. There were disagreements on who was in charge, who was doing what, and who was aligned with who. The only reason they weren't discovered until now was because the majority of this group is outside ADVENT Intelligence, and within the citizenry and greater ADVENT organization.
It's made up of mostly lower-income individuals, lower-ranking Party bureaucrats, and a few number of soldiers with the odd low-level ADVENT analyst. This is being managed less by numerous individual and motivated actors, and instead only a few people who are exploiting the Chinese propaganda to their own ends.
Their goals appear to be personal power and ambition, though some nationalism plays a part. Nonetheless, we have identified the leaders and are in the process of dismantling this group quickly and effectively.
FURTHER STAGES: The full investigation of ADVENT Intelligence is reaching completion, and we have already begun preliminary appointments with other major organs of ADVENT. It is clear that there are parts of ADVENT which are compromised by alien and foreign elements, and as such it is imperative that they be dealt with before they begin significantly degrading our capabilities.
We anticipate that since we have already investigated the most important individuals who were under suspicion, disruptions to standard activities of ADVENT will be minimal. There will likely be some slight staff shortages in various divisions, and we will be advising all ADVENT departments affected of the potential impact so they can make adequate preparations.
