Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V - Ending Redux

I, like many did not like the ending to Arc V. So I thought I'd do something about it, and upload my own version. This takes the events that happened in the last 8 episodes of Arc V after the duel with Zarc, and then changes and expands upon them. The duels will contain anime versions of cards as well as fan made ones too.

2. Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Battle Royale, prize for memory

Standing atop a solid stone glacier, Tsukikage looks down upon the three before him, Yuya, Noboru and Shingo. Noboru clenches his fist, finally understanding why the four of them were called there, and it wasn't to win some tasteless trophy. Both Yuya and Shingo aren't aware of the full situation, even with Shingos memory of events. The three duellists seperate themselves into other areas of the field; Noboru in a bright meadow field, Shingo in a dried up rock formation, and Yuya stands close to a lake of lava. "Our duellists are set! Let's get this show on the road!" The announcer wilds up the cheering fans in the stands.

"Duelists locked in battle!" "Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" "They storm through this field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" "ACTION DUEL!" After the ceremonial chant is called out, the quartet of duellists start their action duel.

Yuya 4000LP

Yuya takes the first turn, unable to draw, but takes the initiative to start scooping the field for action magic cards. "I activate the spell card, Odd-Eyes Accel. This turn I can normal summon Odd-Eyes without a tribute. I normal summon Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Yuya calls forth his ace monster to the field. "I set 1 card on the field, and end my turn."

[Odd-Eyes LVL 7 Dark Dragon ATK 2500]

Before anyone could object, Tsukikage takes the next turn, now having the ability to draw, and attack. "Let me ask you Yuya. Does this place look familiar to you?" The ninja presents this question to Yuya, who looks around him, unsure. He looks at the lava pool beside him, and gets a flashback to his one-sided duel where he was saved by Dennis. "Yeah, this is where I duelled with Dennis, and then..." Yuya recalls the duel, but then what followed, with him encountering Shun, and witnessing the attack by Obelisk Force. He remembers losing control of himself, and defeating them with a Pendulum Xyz card.

"Draw! From my hand I set the Pendulum Scale. Twilight Ninja Jogen and Twilight Ninja Kagen." Tsukikage sets his scale to summon multiple monsters this turn.

[Kagen LVL 1 Dark Warrior Scale 10]

"Pendulum summon! Twilight Ninja Getsuga, the Shogun and Twilight Ninja Nichirin, the Chunin." He calls upon two of his strongest ninja monsters to the field. Although both are weaker compared to that of Odd-Eyes, Tsukikage shows no fear or concern for the situation at hand.

[Getsuga LVL 8 Dark Warrior ATK 2000]

[Nichirin LVL 6 Dark Warrior ATK 2300]

"Battle. Nichirin, attack Odd-Eyes!" "You're mad! It's too weak." Shingo calls out to Tsukikage, only to see him missing from the spot he was previously standing. Appearing like a shadow behind Yuya, he catches everyone off guard. "I use Kagen's effect. My monster gains 500 attack." While focused on the attack, no one sees that Tsukikage had grabbed an action from the stage.

[Nichirin ATK 2300 - 2800]

As his ninja clashes with the dragon however, Odd-Eyes shows restraint against it, pushing back towards them. "I activate my trap card, Follow Wing. My monster can't be destroyed by battle, and if they are targeted by a level 5 or higher monster, it's destroyed, and Odd-Eyes gains its power." Counter attacking the ninja, Odd-Eyes destroys them.

[Odd-Eyes ATK 2500 - 5100]

"Alright, Follow Wing. Yugo used it against me in our duel. Remember Yuya?" Shingo calls out, having figured out what Tsukikage was doing. "Yugo?" Yuya asks, looking back at his lesser rival. "Do you remember Yugo? You two were more alike than you think." He ends his turn, having provoked Yuya, and hopefully kick-started his memory.

"My move, Draw." Shingo starts his turn next. "I set the Pendulum Scale, Abyss Actor Evil Heel, and Abyss Actor Kunky Comedian." Shingo sets his scale to summon monsters from level two to seven.

[Evil LVL 10 Dark Fiend Scale 1]

"Pendulum summon! Abyss Actor Superstar and Abyss Actor Sassy Rookie." After many decks and strategies, Shingo plays his true deck, and summons his true ace monster.

[Superstar LVL 7 Dark Fiend ATK 2500]

[Rookie LVL 4 Dark Fiend ATK 1700]

Yuya glances down at the floor, noticing something glim, and shine from the light of the fire. "I use the Superstars effect. I add Abyss Script - Rise of the Abyss King to my hand. I activate it to destroy your dragon and your trap card." Without being able to respond, the spell cards power renders Yuya's field to be empty. Yuya crouches down to the floor, seemingly because of his monster's destruction. "Battle. I attack you directly Yuya!" Superstar pulls a book out of nowhere, and springs at Yuya, charging a ball of blue flames. Yuya rises to his feet and charges at Superstar as it attacks him, much to Shingo's concern. "What are you doing?"

"Action Magic! Burning Rush! I special summon a monster from my hand. I summon Entermate Laugh Maker." Yuya summons out another monster to protect himself. "Nice try Yuya, I activate my Spell Abyss Script - Backstage Deal. I return Rookie to my hand to power up Superstar by 100 times Rookie's level." Shingo returns his weaker monster to his hand.

[Laugh LVL 8 Light Spellcaster ATK 2500]

[Superstar ATK 2500 - 2900]

"With the effect of Laugh Maker, he gains 1000 attack when your monster gets stronger too." "Because of Backstage Deal, Supater can't be destroyed by battle this turn."

[Laugh ATK 2500 - 3500]

The two monsters clash. Struggling at first, Laugh Maker pushes back, having gained a surge in power. He strikes Superstar, sending them back against. "But you still take the damage." Yuya declares, Shingo being the first person to take damage in this duel.

[Shingo LP 4000 - 3900]

"Laugh Maker?" Tsukikage asks. "You don't see that one being played often. When was the last time you used it, Yuya?" Yuya looks back at the ninja, then to his card. "Let's see. It was..." Yuya gets glimpses of Aster Phoenix, the duelist from the Fusion Dimension. Yuya starts to shake, but he doesn't know why. Noboru has remained still and stoic through this whole ordeal. Now, he comes forward to Yuya. "Yuya." His friend looks at him, tears are being fought back in Yuya's eyes. "Yuzu is gone." Those words open Pandora's box inside Yuya's mind. He drops to the floor, clutching his head, screaming. "Yu...Yuzu?" Everyday he's spent with her up till the day she was captured and lost, every emotion they'd shared together, the bond they hand comes flooding back to Yuya in force, and it hurts him.

Noboru comes forward, and draws for his turn. A powerful gust is forced from him. "I summon, Superheavy Samurai Flutist. Using its effect, I tribute it to special summon Superheavy Samurai Big Benkai. Then I discard a monster to summon, Trumpeter." Noboru doesn't waste any time summoning his monsters, and building his board.

"I tune my level 2 Trumpeter to my level 8 Big Benkai. Synchro Summon level 10, Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!" Noboru summons out his first synchro monster to the field. "I equip Soulhorns to my monster, allowing it the power to attack twice during the battle phase."

[Susanowo LVL 10 Earth Machine Synchro DEF 3800]

"Battle. I attack, Laugh Maker with Susanowo!" Yuya still on the floor, paralzyed to do anything, the attack goes through, reducing his monster to nothing. "Yuya!" A voice from his dream calls to him. In his fearful state, Yuya doesn't answer. "Yuya! Please! We need to talk to you!" The voice sounds desperate, like it's at risk.

[Yuya LP 4000 - 2700]

"I'm sorry, Yuya. With my second attack, I..." "No!" A voice leaves Yuya's mouth, but it's not his own. Standing back on his feet, Yuya looks to Noboru, his eyes faded out. "I activate the effects of the monster in my hand, Phantom Knight's of Discarded Rag. I can special summon it from my hand when I take damage, and destroy all cards in the spell and trap zones, including pendulum monsters." Yuya summons the fall, an unsuspecting creature appears and destroys the pendulum monsters Shingo and Tsukikage possess, as well as Soulhorns. Yuya shows his eyes, to be grey. He is no longer Yuya. He is now Yuto.

[Rag LVL 1 Dark Warrior ATK 0]

"My turn, draw." Yuto, as Yuya draws for his turn. "I activate The Phantom Knights Desperate Draw. I tribute Rag to send the top card of my deck to the grave. Depending on its level, I can draw that many cards. If it's not a monster, I can't summon a monster this turn." Yuto risks it all, destroying Rag, he draws the top of his deck, and reveals it. "The Phantom Knights of Fragile Armor." His opponents stunned, Yuto discards the monster, and then draws four cards from his deck.

Looking on from their private room, Reiji watches the duel with great interest. He is alone, save for his brother, resting in the bed behind him. Reira has been in a coma since the duel with Zarc. Taking on Ray's spirit and destroying Zarcs evil soul has taken its toll on the young duellist. Although their body is normal. Their mind is too clouded by Ray's spirit to allow him to awaken. "For his sake. I need them to become one again."
