Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V - Ending Redux

I, like many did not like the ending to Arc V. So I thought I'd do something about it, and upload my own version. This takes the events that happened in the last 8 episodes of Arc V after the duel with Zarc, and then changes and expands upon them. The duels will contain anime versions of cards as well as fan made ones too.

6. Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Toy box of nightmares

Yuya arrives in the Fusion Dimension, in the central heart of Academia. Surrounding him lie the bodies of various academia students. He rushes over to one of them, and checks their pulse. They appear to be alive, just tired. He inspects another; after a few he comes to the conclusion that they are all like this, but he doesn't know why. The creepy silence is broken by an explosion behind a brick wall. Using his skates, Yuya speeds off into the direction of the explosion to see if anyone is in need.

By the time Yuya makes it behind the wall, he sees the end of the conflict. He watches as the Parasite Queen is destroyed by Frightfur Chimera. The duellist using Parasite Queen falls to the ground. Yuya rushes over, and finds they are in a similar state to the others he saw earlier. "Don't worry about him. He'll be okay once this is over." Yuya is shocked when the voice echoes behind him. Coming to his feet, Yuya looks to see his friend Sora standing atop of a building. "Yuya!" Sora calls out before dropping down to the ground level to greet his friend.

As Sora stands before him, Yuya looks them up and down. He sees that their clothes are dirty, like he's been in a war zone. "Sora, what happened here?" Yuya asks, concerned about the status of this dimension. "Okay, long story short, Doktor, after being freed from his card form, used his parasites to control some of the students. So everyone left here is doing our best to find him, and free the students." Yuya looks puzzled. "Then why did Edo not remain here to help?" "The commander thought that the people of Heartland needed the support. Besides, we didn't need help to stop who was left." "We?" Yuya asks, for which Sora responds with a smile.

"Why don't I show you?" Sora extends his arm, gesturing to Yuya to follow him somewhere. Sora leads Yuya down the halls of Academia, towards Leo's throne room. "Edo told me that the Professor is missing. Is that true?" Sora remains quiet. "Sora?" He asks, worried about his friend's silence. Sora stops in the middle of the hall. "Are you really Yuya? Or are you, him?" Sora asks, his eyes becoming tense. "Yes Sora, it's me." Yuya defends. Sora isn't fully convinced. "I need to be sure." Not wanting to take any chances, Sora activates his duel disk. Provoked, Yuya does the same, activating the action field. "Duel!"

"I activate the spell, Frightfur Nightmare Shop. By sending monsters from my deck to the grave, I can summon a fusion monster. I send two Patchwork Fluffal from my deck to the grave, with a Edge Imp Frightfuloid." Yuya takes a step back as Sora creates a new monster for him to face. "Fusion Summon! Level 10! Dangerous Frightfur Nightmary!" The ground shakes as from behind Sora, stands a tall, goliath of a doll.

[Nightmary LVL 10 Dark Fiend Fusion ATK 2000]

"Nightmary gains 300 attack for each Fiend or Fairy in my grave. I have 3 altogether." The spirits of Sora's monsters appear on the field before being absorbed into the doll.

[Nightmary ATK 2000 - 2900]

"The cost of me playing my spell card to summon her means I can't summon any monsters from my hand this turn. So, I'll just play two cards face down instead. I end my turn." Sora ends his turn with a boss monster, and two cards hidden from Yuya.

Yuya starts his turn by drawing from his deck. Sora clenches his cards, his heart pounding in his chest. "Yuya..." He says under his breath. "I set the pendulum Scale. Scale 1 Stargazer Magician, and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician" Yuya plays his scale, allowing him to pendulum summon this turn. "Pendulum Summon! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon! Performapal U Go Golem! Performapal Whim Witch!" Yuya summons a parade of monsters to his field.

"I use the effect of U Go Golem. On the turn I pendulum summoned it, I can perform a fusion summon using it and another monster. I fuse it with my witch." The two monsters come together, creating a more destructive being. "Fusion Summon! Level 8! Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" In one turn, Yuya has summoned both his, and Yuri's ace monster.

[Starving LVL 8 Dark Dragon Fusion ATK 2800]

"Not so fast Yuya, I have a trap. Toy Shutdown. By discarding one card from my hand, your monsters are unable to use their effects this turn. I discard Fluffal Leo from my hand. And with another Fairy in the grave, Nightmary gains more power than before."

[Nightmary ATK 2900 - 3200]

Yuya turns on his skates, and starts grinding on the walls, Sora stands in shock. "Battle." Yuya finds an action card on the wall. Pulling it out, he activates it. "Action magic, High Jump! Odd-eyes gains 1000 attack points."

[Odd-Eyes ATK 2500 - 3500]

The dual eyed dragon attacks Nightmary. It was strong enough to destroy it, and a small amount of Sora's life points.

[Sora LP 4000 - 3700]

"I'm not done. Starving Venom will attack you directly." The venom dragon charges for the young duelist, to which he springs his trap. "Fluffal Audition! I banish Nightmary from the grave, to negate your attack. As well, I can now summon the monsters used as material to summon her." Sora protects himself from the attack, and revives the stuffed animal monsters from his grave.

[Frightfuloid LVL 4 Dark Fiend ATK 1200]

Yuya ends his turn with the last card in his hand face down. His monsters are now free to use their effects. "Okay. Even though you have that dragon, I believe that you are the real Yuya. Zarc never used an action card in the duel we had. But, before I take you to see Shun and the others, you still need to beat me, Teacher." Sora has a confident, yet playful look on his face as he draws. "My three monsters have the ability to be treated as a Frightfur monster. I activate Polymerization. I fuse all three of my monsters." The small, unthreatening monster unite together once more. "Fusion Summon! Level 8! Frightfur Chimera!" The three-headed stuffed toy crashes onto the ground, rocking the hallway.

[Chimera LVL 8 Dark Fiend Fusion ATK 2800]

"I activate two continous spells. Frightfur Rage, and Toy Plan. With Frightfur Rage, when a Frightfur Fusion monster attacks a monster, its attack becomes double. And with Toy Plan, I can attack all your monsters." Chimera starts their first attack. The hulking beast fires a toy rocket that strikes Odd-Eyes first. The dragon explodes on impact.

[Yuya LP 4000 - 900]

"You're one monster down now Yuya. Luckily, you avoided my Chimera stealing your dragon. Now, it's time to finish this." "Not so fast, I activate my Trap, Rival's Gift. I can give control of Starving Venom to you, and in return, I gain life points each to its defence." Starving Venom disappears from Yuya's field, and appears again with Sora.

[Yuya LP 900 - 2900]

"Because I control no other monsters, you can't attack me with Chimera again." Sora smiles from the play. "But I can still attack with Starving Venom. Attack." The dragon swipes at Yuya as he tries for an action card. He gets struck across the room as he grabs it. The action card was Overpass, a card that wouldn't have helped, but Yuya still holds it. Yuya crashes into the hall behind him.

[Yuya LP 2900 - 100]

"So that's what it feels like to be hit by my dragon." Yuya hears a voice in his head. "Yuri?" He calls out in his mind. "Yes. Yuto convinced me to talk with you. I see you gave up on my dragon after one duel." "No, no it's not like that." Yuya sounds worried that he offended Yuri. "I'm joking. Honestly, it was a worth it move. Now. Get up, and continue." Yuya's deck starts to glow. "This time, we do it together."

Yuya stands up, back against the wall. Beside him in his mind is Yuri. "Draw! I Pendulum Summon! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon from the Extra deck!" Yuya revives his ace monster to the board. "I activate the spell card, Super Polymerization!" Sora is shocked. Taking a step back, he's reminded of the duels he saw Yuri take place in, as well as the one he duelled him in. Yuya discards the action card from his hand. "I fuse Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon on my field, with the Starving Venom Fusion Dragon on yours." The two dragons roar. The walls and ceiling shake, as if an earthquake had erupted. They join together, as if they were compatible with each other. Yuya and Yuri call out for their dragon. "Fusion Summon! Level 10! Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon!" The fusion of these dimension dragons rocks the world. It roars to the open sky as its summoning blows a hole in the roof.

[Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon LVL 10 Dark Dragon Fusion ATK 3300]

"Using our monster's effect, it can gain the attack of your monster for itself." The orbs across its body glow a radiate purple, red and green colour. The dragon gives out a toxic cloud that engulfs the hallway. The cloud changes colour before being breathed in by the dragon. It grows in size, and becomes more vicious.

[Odd-Eyes Venom ATK 3300 - 6100]

"I use my monster's effect to negate your monster's effects with the second skill of our monster." Venom dragon wraps the monster in tall, large vines, squeezing it tight. The dragon goes it to attack, its vines break around the walls and crack the pillars. The ceiling starts to fall apart, two action cards fall down. Seeing them, the two duelists leap into the air and catch them. "Action Magic, Miracle!" The dragon opens fire on the monster, but due to the spell, it survives.

[Sora LP 3700 - 2550]

"This is the end Sora. Sorry." Sora is fearful now as Yuya activates his card. "Action Magic, Loose End. My dragon can attack once more." Venom dragon fuelled by raged strikes Chimera, this time, destroying it whole.

[Sora LP 2550 - 0]

The roof caves in on both of the duelists. There's no movement under the rubble, until the brick and plaster erupts with Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon holding the two boys in one hand. "Thank you for the game, teacher." "I'm not your teacher anymore. With what you have shown, you're your own master." Yuya gives Sora the thumbs up, in which he falls to near tears of joy.

As Venom dragon sets them down and disappears, screams can be heard down the hall. "That sounds like Doktor!" Sora starts running in the direction of the throne room. Yuya follows after him, using his skates, he's able to keep pace with the ninja like duelist. The pair burst into the throne room at the end of the duel. "No! Not again!" They witness Doktor being carded by a duelist in the shadows. The pair look up to see who it was. Presenting Doktors card, he steps out of the shadows. It was Shun, but his expression was one of both rage, and depression. "Yuya. Glad to see you. Where's Yuto?"
