Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V - Ending Redux

I, like many did not like the ending to Arc V. So I thought I'd do something about it, and upload my own version. This takes the events that happened in the last 8 episodes of Arc V after the duel with Zarc, and then changes and expands upon them. The duels will contain anime versions of cards as well as fan made ones too.

7. Chapter 7

Chapter 7 - One last dance, the Evolving Falcon vs the Rebellious Dragon

Shun stands atop a destroyed pillar in the throne room. Between his fingers, he holds the carded form of Doktor. He looks down at the two duelists on the ground level. His eyes glare at Yuya with distaste. He leaps down from his spot, and lands before the pair. Without saying a word, he tosses the card over to Sora. "Well. That's our problem solved. Right?" Sora says nervously, feeling the tension in the room rising. "So, anyway, Yuya, how have you been..." "Hey!" Shun cuts him off, all eyes are now on him. "Yuya, where is Ruri?" Yuya looks shocked at the question, not really knowing the answer to the question. "Okay, now I'm done wasting time!" Shun forcefully grabs at Yuya's collar, pulling him close to him. "Where is my sister?!" Shun violently shakes Yuya. Sora tries to intervene, pushing his arms between the two.

"I don't know!" Yuya finally speaks up, as they are coperated. "I don't know where she is. I don't know where Yuzu is either. But listen, Zarc's returning, and we need to..." Shun cuts him off again. "Zarc?" The tension in the room rises once more, like standing in a furnace. "You're part of Zarc. Maybe I need to force the truth out of you!" With his duel disk still activated from his duel with Doktor, Shun threatens Yuya. "Wait, no. This isn't..." Before Yuya could object, he hears a voice in his ear. "Yuya. Please. Let me do this." "Yuto?" He asks in his mind. Yuya's eyes turn grey, and his voice subtly changes. Without saying another word, the two prepare themselves, activating the action field. "Duel!"

Duel

Shun 4000 LP

Yuya/Yuto 4000 LP

"I summon Raid Raptors Vanishing Lanius to the field. Then, I use the effect of Retrofit Lanius. I target Vanishing, to copy its level and name. With Vanishing, I can special summon it to the field." Shun summons a pair of mechanical birds to the field.

[Vanishing LVL 4 Dark Winged Beast ATK 1300]

[Retrofit LVL 4 Dark Winged Beast ATK 800]

"Retrofit can substitute itself as two materials to Xyz summon. I overlay my two monsters to Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Raid Raptors Rise Falcon!" In a blaze of glory, Shun summons his ace monster to the field. It's fire lights the throne room as it descends.

[Rise Rank 4 Dark Winged Beast Xyz ATK 100]

"I set two cards face down and then end my turn." Shun finishes his turn, seemingly leaving his monster wide open to getting attacked. Yuto, now controlling Yuya, looks at his hand, and smiles. "My turn, draw." Shun takes notice of the voice difference. "I normal summon Phantom Knights Dusty Robe. Because I control a level 3 Phantom Knights, I can summon Silent Boots to the field." Yuto summons his two spectral monsters to the field.

[Dusty LVL 3 Dark Warrior ATK 800]

[Boots LVL 3 Dark Warrior ATK 200]

Shun looks into Yuto's eyes after seeing his monsters. He takes a step back, almost in fear. "Yuto?" His voice echoes with sorrow. "Is that you?" Yuto doesn't directly answer his friend. "I overlay my two level 3 monsters to Xyz Summon! Rank 3! Phantom Knight Break Sword!" Yuto summons his phantom horseman to the field, wielding their cursed blade.

[Break Sword Rank 3 Dark Warrior Xyz ATK 2000]

"Battle! I attack Rise Falcon with Break Sword!" The horse man charges for the bird, swinging their sword high. "Trap open! Mirror Mail. This makes our monsters attack equal."

[Rise Falcon ATK 100 - 2000]

Yuto is quick on his feet as he tries for an action card. Knowing what he's doing, Shun does the same, climbing up the torn down pillars. As they struggle for the action cards, Asuka and Battle Beast come into the throne room. "Shun, we looked everywhere but we can't..." Asuka is stopped in her tracks when she sees the duel in progress. Sora takes them to the side, showing them the Doktor card. "Tell him later." He says, trying to keep them out of the duel. "Action magic, Miracle." Yuto tries to use his spell to protect Break Sword. "Action magic, No Action! Your spell is negated." The two monsters clash anyway, and get destroyed.

"When Break Sword is destroyed, I can summon back Silent Boots and Dusty Robe to the field as level four monsters." Yuto revives his two monsters from the grave. "Those don't look like Performapals." Battle Beast comments. "That's because he's not using his deck." Battle Beast looks confused. "I'll let him tell you later." "I activate the spell, Rank-Up-Magic Raptor's Force!" Rise Falcon returns to the field, before being engulfed in burning hot flames. "Rank Up! Xyz Change! Rank 5! Raid Raptors Blaze Falcon!"

[Blaze Rank 5 Dark Winged Beast Xyz ATK 1000]

Shuns new xyz monster takes centre stage on the field as it stares down both of Yutos monsters. "I'm not finished with my turn yet Shun. I overlay both my level four monsters. Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Yuto summons his ace dragon to the field. It's roar screams out to the sky.

[Dark Rebellion Rank 4 Dark Dragon Xyz ATK 2500]

"I set four cards face down, and end my turn. Give me your best shot." Yuto continues to smile. Shun looks to his friend with confusion. "Yuto? Is this the real you?" Yuto nods his head. "Then, why agree to the duel?" Shuns hand starts to shake. "I don't know if I'd ever get another chance to duel my friend." Shun lets a tear fall down his cheek as he clenches his cards. "My turn, draw! I activate Blaze Falcons effect. By detaching a material I can destroy all your special summoned monsters." Blaze Falcon launches a swarm of drones to take down the dragon. "Trap open. Phantom Fog Blade. I target your monster, negating its effects and preventing it from attacking." The drones get shut down as the trap wraps Blaze Falcon in fog.

"I activate Rank-Up-Magic Raid Force!" Blaze Falcon is freed from the fog and evolves further beyond. "Rank Up! Xyz Change! Rank 6! Raid Raptors Revolution Falcon!" The air raid bomber falcon appears for all to witness it. It's wings spread out wide.

[Revolution Rank 6 Dark Winged Beast Xyz ATK 2000]

"My Falcon's effect activates. Because I summoned it using a rank 5 or lower Raid Raptors, I can destroy Dark Rebellion and inflict damage to you." The machine falcon raises itself off the ground, and unloads a stream of burning fire on the pitch black dragon. "I activate My Body as a shield. By paying 1500 life points, I can prevent my monsters' destruction."

[Yuto LP 4000 - 2500]

Dark Rebellion shields itself with its arms, only for the flames to go around it, and hit Yuto in person. "Ah!" He's sent back from the fire. "I now activate my trap, Pain for glory. I banish Fog Blade from my graveyard to replace this effect with that of Fog Blade. I can only use it when my Life Points are different from the previous turn." The trap card changes its form to that of Fog Blade, and captures the war bird in a thick fog.

"Yuto." Shun lets out a brief smile. "Remember when we left for Standard?" "How can I forget. We spent the night debating on going alone or with our comrades." The two remeisis on the past they share. "Yeah. We agreed it would just be us, not wanting to risk more of our comrades for my sake. Even tried to talk you out of coming too." "Sometimes we need to help the people we care most about. Whether they are captured, or going for the save." Shun pinches the last card in his hand. "Yuto….I'm sorry." Tears stream down his face as he plays his card. "Rank-Up-Magic Desperate Force! I pay life points to rank up my monster." The falcon rises once more, glowing with a powerful, radiate force.

[Shun LP 4000 - 2000]

"Double Rank Up! Xyz Change! Rank 12! Raid Raptors Final Fortress Falcon!" The falcon grows in size, taking up the sky itself. A large, pink, falcon takes its place as Shun's monster, standing as his last stand.

[Final Fortress Rank 12 Dark Winged Beast Xyz ATK 3800]

"Battle. This monster will finish you, Yuto!" Opening its body, the Falcon unleashes a barrage of missiles on the dragon. "Trap open! Phantom Sword. I can increase my monsters attack power, and prevent destruction once." "But you still take the damage."

[Dark Rebellion ATK 2500 - 3300]

[Yuto LP 2500 - 2000]

Yuto's dragon survives the attack, and its powers return to normal. "I activate my Falcon's effect. I detach all materials and banish all three of my falcons in the graveyard. Final Fortress can attack again." Once again, the bird of prey fires a swarm of missiles on the dragon. Yuto thinking on their feet, reaches for an action card. "Action card, Evasion. I negate the attack." The dragon avoids each missile like they were the plague. The missiles hit the surrounding area, causing the watchers to move from their spot. "Again, Falcon attack Rebellion." The falcon attacks with a soundwave attack to turn the dragon to dust. Yuto grabs the next, closest card to him. "Action magic, Miracle!" Taking the hit, Dark Rebellion survives the attack with barely a scratch.

[Yuto LP 2000 - 1350]

"Last attack! Falcon!" Using the very power from its core, the falcon charges for one last attack. Yuto takes to the platforms to get another card. Shun rushes up to grab one instead. Both players grab a card from platforms. "Action Magic, Great Escape!" "Action Magic, No Action!" Shun once again negated Yutos card. As he rushes for another, Yuto loses his footing, and falls out of the platform. Dark Rebellion grabs him before he hits the ground, dropping something from his teeth, and onto Yuto's lap. Fortress Falcon attacks Dark Rebellion, who chooses to stand his ground, letting himself be hit.

[Yuto LP 1350 - 50]

As the smoke clears, both Yuto and Dark Rebellion are still standing. "What? How is he still here?" Shun is in amazement. "Dark Rebellion found me an action card. Tenacity. It makes it so my only monster on the field can't be destroyed this turn."

Shun ends his turn after his last attack fails. Yuto has no cards in hand, and only Dark Rebellion face up. "Draw! Remember Shun. No matter how dire the situation, your comrades will keep fighting, as long as you fight with them. I activate Phantom Draw. I send both materials from my Dragon to the grave, to draw a card for each one. I draw two." Yuto draws his last two cards.

He peers at the cards from the corner of his eye, and smiles some more. "I activate, Rank-Up-Magic Phantom Knights Launch!" Shun closes his eyes, and smiles too. "Rank Up! Xyz Change!" Dark Rebellion evolves, growing bigger, stronger, and more furious. "Rank 5! Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon!" The pitch black dragon appears in their new form, bareling bone fangs and claws.

[Dark Requiem Rank 5 Dark Dragon Xyz ATK 3000]

"I activate Phantom Recruitment. I can target one Xyz monster, and treat its rank as a level. My target is your Falcon!" The Falcons body glows, showing the change. "I use the effect of Requiem. I detach one material to reduce your monsters attack, and increase mine."

[Requiem ATK 3000 - 6800]

[Final ATK 3800 - 0]

"Battle!" The two Xyz duellists shred one last tear as the dragon of rebellion spreads their stained glass wings and strikes the falcon. As the two titans connect, the giant falcon explodes, engulfing the dragon in flames as it stands victorious.
