Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V - Ending Redux

I, like many did not like the ending to Arc V. So I thought I'd do something about it, and upload my own version. This takes the events that happened in the last 8 episodes of Arc V after the duel with Zarc, and then changes and expands upon them. The duels will contain anime versions of cards as well as fan made ones too.

10. Chapter 10

Chapter 10 - The King and the Peasant; red dragon in clear skies

Jack sits upon his throne, atop the duel stadium. Jack's expression is rough, his mouth giving no emotion, while his eyes display sorrow. At the bottom of the steps, Crow sits with his head in his hands. "Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. Damn it!" Crow removes his hands from his face, only to slam his fists into the ground. "I should've tried to help Yuya. But it all happened too fast." Tears fall from Crow's eyes. "The city, the kids were looking forward to seeing him again. Their faces when I told them lit up." As Crow beats himself up beneath him, Jack looks straight forward, lifting his head up. "He's here." Jack speaks. Crow looks up at Jack upon hearing this. "What?"

The two are surprised by the call of a monstrous roar. They look around for the source of this mighty cry. Jack rises from his throne, and smiles. "Yuya." The sky splits open, as something tears through reality. In a glory of thunder, Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon in its Overload form crashes onto the ground in the stadium. On its back, Yuya sits up, and leaps to the ground level. The hole above repairs itself faster than it took to be torn open. "Yuya!?" Crow rises to his feet and rushes towards him. Odd-Eyes Rebellion disappears from the stadium. Jack watches from his throne as Crow almost tackles Yuya. "You're alive!" Crow can barely hide his joy at Yuya being here. "How did you survive?" Crow asks, looking confused, wiping the tears from his eyes. Yuya just shrugs. "I don't know. Friendship?" "Good enough for me."

"There's so much to tell. The city has improved a lot since you beat Jack. There's a new director running the city, the tops and commons are looking for middle ground for peace, and the kids..." As Crow starts letting out his verbal vomit, he's cut off by Jack. "Yuya!" They both look at the former king, slowly walking down the steps of his throne to greet Yuya. "We need you." Yuya looks confused, Crow not telling him he was needed. "The director wants to celebrate the 'new age' of the city, and has asked me to duel someone. And I get to choose. The king's word is final." Yuya looks even more confused. "King?" "Yeah. Even though you beat Jack, no one else has, and people still see him as the King." "You wanted me?" Yuya asks, clenching his fist. "You're on Jack. I'm ready right now!"

After an hour of preparation, Yuya being given his duel runner that he used while in the Synchro dimension, the director has every network set up to broadcast the duel to every television. As Yuya and Jack pull their runners to the starting line, the director comes onto the broadcast. Everyone in the city, top or common can see it. "Hello all those of Neo Domino. I'm your new director Jaeger. I hope you're all well. As I am. Today, I have a special treat for you." The broadcast displays both Jack and Yuya read to duel. Everyone close to a television sits down to watch. In Crows home, Shiji and the kids see the broadcast and gather round the table. "Today, the two best duelists this city has seen will go head to head once again for the enjoyment of you fine people. Let's not keep waiting."

As the cameras are finishing their final preparations, Yuya hears a voice in his head. "Hey, Yuya." Yuya looks to his side, to see no one. "Yuya, over here." Yuya realises it's one of his counterparts. "Yuto?" "Wrong." "Yugo?" "Bingo!" Looking into his mind, Yuya finds himself in front of Yugo. "Oh hey Yugo, sorry. You and Yuto sound so alike you could be brothers." Yugo looks a little offended at that remark. "Yeah, well you and Yuri sound too close to be the same guy." The two burst into laughter after their playful banter. "Anyway, I wanted to ask, can I duel Jack?" Yuya looks a little surprised by this. "He was my hero when me and Rin were building my runner. I've always wanted to duel him and.." Yuya holds his hand out, stopping him. "You can duel him. But, one condition."

Back in reality, Yuya's eyes turn red to a pale blue. "Are you ready Yuya?" Jack calls out to him, pointing directly at his opponent. Yugo, in control of Yuya, gives him the thumbs up, while trying to make an impression of Yuya's voice. "Yeah. I'm ready King, I mean Jack, I mean...yes!" Jack recognises the tone a little, but let's it go, thinking he knows what's up. "On your marks" The announcer calls out. "Get set!" The two duellists rev their engines, eager to set off. "DUEL!" The pair race down the track. Their runners cause a strong gust of wind to blow back.

"The King gets the first move. I special summon Red Gargoyle from my hand." Jack starts the duel by summoning a monster from his hand. "I can do this because I control no monsters on the field. And now I'll summon Red Resonator from my hand as well." Jack summons his signature turner monster to the field as well.

[Gargoyle LVL 4 Fire Fiend ATK 1200]

[Red Resonator LVL 2 Fire Fiend Tuner ATK 600]

Jack turns his runner around, facing Yugo. "When I normal summon a Red monster, Gargoyle allows me to double the level of the summoned monster. So my level 2 Red Resonator becomes a level 4 one instead." Spreading their wings, Gargoyle surrounds Red Resonator with rings of fire, adding to its level.

[Red Resonator LVL 2 - 4]

"Now, I tune my level 4 Red Resonator to my level 4 Red Garoyle! Synchro Summon! Level 8 Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" Using his two fiends, Jack calls on his dragon, the embodiment of his burning soul.

[Scarlet LVL 8 Dark Dragon Synchro ATK 3000]

"Next up, I'll play two cards face down, and end my turn. Hit me with your best shot 'Yuya'!" Jack turns his runner so he's facing forward again, before increasing his speed, Yugo following behind him.

"My go, draw!" Yugo looks at his hand. "Okay Yuya. A deal is a deal." Yugo speeds up trying to catch up with Jack. "I set the pendulum Scale. Scale 1 Dragonpulse Magician and scale 8 Dragonpit Magician." Using the two monsters in his scale, Yugo summons two monsters from his hand. "Pendulum summon, Speedroid Double YoYo, and Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice." Jack smirks, slowing down so Yugo can catch up. The people watching the duel are amazed to see the pendulums again, while some are confused upon seeing the Speedroids.

"You're not Yuya are you?" Jack asks, now that they're side by side. Yugo looks at Jack sheepishly. "I asked Yuya if I could duel you in his place." Jack remains silent, hearing them out. "Me and Yuya share this body, so you're battling both of us at once. That was his condition so I could duel you." "Very well. Catch me if you can then." Jack speeds off ahead of Yugo. "Watch me! I tune my level 3 Dice to my level 4 YoYo! Synchro summon! Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Using his toys, Yugo summons his ace dragon, Clear Wing, the only dragon that doesn't use the dark for its power.

[Clear Wing LVL 7 Wind Dragon Synchro ATK 2500]

"And that's not all. I summon Tuning Magician." Yugo summons the seemingly bad card that Jack gave Sam. "Yuya still has that card?" Jack thinks to himself, smiling, knowing that his lesson stayed with Yuya. "When summoned, you gain 400 life points, and I lose that many too."

[Jack LP 4000 - 4400]

[Yugo LP 4000 - 3600]

"I now tune my Level 1 Tuning Magician to my level 7 dragon!" The small magician girl turns to a star that synchronises with Clear Wing. "Synchro Summon! Level 8! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo summons his dragon in their highest form of power. Using a synchro, to summon a synchro.

[Crystal Wing LVL 8 Wind Dragon Synchro ATK 3000]

"Battle! I attack Scarlet Red Dragon Archfiend with Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon." Crystal Wing takes to the skies, using its speed to soar in laps around the city below. "When it battles a level 5 or higher monster, it gains attack equal to its battling target."

[Crystal ATK 3000 - 6000]

The white dragon comes soaring down at the red dragon. "I activate my trap, Red Crystal. Red monsters cannot be destroyed by battle or effects this turn." "But you still take the damage!" The two dragons clash into each other, but the Red one still remains standing.

[Jack LP 4400 - 1400]

[Crystal ATK 6000 - 3000]

"I end my turn with one face down. Your move King." Jack draws from his deck, and summons the card he drew. "I summon Chain Resonator. When summoned, I can special summon another Resonator from my deck." Yugo reaches out to activate his dragon's effect to negate, but stops himself. "I can't waste it on that. I'll need to save it for his dragon." "I summon Double Resonator."

[Chain LVL 1 Dark Fiend Tuner ATK 100]

[Double LVL 1 Fire Fiend Tuner ATK 0]

Jacks runner glows with a burning red aura. "I tune both of my level 1 tuner monsters to my level 8 dragon!" The tuner monsters turn into burning rings of fire that join with the Red Dragon. Exploding into flame, the dragon rises out in its evolved form. "Doubling tuning! Synchro Summon! Level 10! Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend!" The dual winged dragon titan emerges to the field. It's aura burns the very air around them.

[Tyrant LVL 10 Dark Dragon Synchro ATK 3500]

"I activate my monster's effect. I destroy all other cards in the field!" The dragon gathers all of the burning rage inside of itself, and explodes it onto the field. "Now! I activate my Crystal Wings effect, I negate and destroy your dragon!" Crystal Wing fires its light from its wings at the Red Dragon, putting the flames out. "I planned for that. I discard Brutal Red. By discarding it, my monster survives being destroyed by card effects, and gains 1000 attack."

[Tyrant ATK 3500 - 4500]

"Battle! I activate my trap Red Restrict. During the battle phase, you cannot use monster effects. And, if I have a Red Synchro in the grave, your damage gets doubled." The Tyrant Dragon goes in for the charge. It unloads its fire from its demon like being, burning the white dragon to dust, unable to do anything without its powers.

[Yugo LP 3600 - 600]

"The upside to Restrict is you get to draw a card after the battle phase." Yugo draws from the deck, pulling Monster Reborn. "I end my turn, and my dragon returns to normal." Yugo looks down at his cards, seeing some of them as Yuya's. He looks up at Jack, who looks back at him for the corner of his eye. "I will win this king! I swear on it!" Yugo revs up his engine and comes charging after Jack. Yugo puts his hand on the deck, but sees Yuya's spirit over it too. It glows, and he draws. "I draw!" The glowing card casts its rays of light on his face.

"Pendulum Summon!" Yugo calls only one monster from his hand to the field. "I summon, Harmonising Magician!" Yugo summons the evolved form of Tuning Magician to the field. "When she's pendulum summoned from the hand, I can summon Timegazer Magician from my deck!" Yugo summons one of Yuya's three main monsters.

[Harmonising LVL 4 Dark Spellcaster Pendulum Tuner ATK 0]

[Timegazer LVL 3 Dark Spellcaster Pendulum ATK 1200]

"I activate my trap, Synchronised Harmonics. By banishing two monsters I control, including a tuner, I can revive a Synchro monster from my grave with a level equal to the two monsters. I banish my two magicians." The two monsters are reverted into stardust that creates a hole in the field. "I revive, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo revives his ace monster to the field, its body radiates energy, like it's changing. "I activate Monster Reborn, I revive Tuning Magician!" Yugo summons the small magician girl to the field. Once again, their life points get affected by her.

[Jack LP 1400 - 1800]

[Yugo LP 600 - 200]

"I tune my Level 1 Tuning Magician to my Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" The two monsters synchronise together, as if they are in perfect harmony with each other. "Perfect Synchro Summon!" Clear Wing returns to the field, but its power is greatened, looking like a living reactor. "Level 8! Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon!"

[Wing LVL 8 Dark Dragon Synchro Pendulum ATK 3000]

"Battle! Using my monster's effect, I target Tyrant Dragon, and destroy it!" "What!" Jack's dragon is hit with several of Wing Dragons' radioactive power. Torn apart, before exploding into flames, Wing Dragon gathers the power of the dragon.

[Wing ATK 3000 - 6500]

"It now gains your monster's attack as its own." Yugo's eyes turn yellow as he continues. "I attack you directly!" The dragon creates a ball of pure, clear energy, before throwing it towards Jack. It impacts Jack's runner, and reduces his life points to zero in one attack.

[Jack LP 1800 - 0]

Yugo dashes past Jack's runner as it stops on the track, turning back around, Yuya takes control again, and comes over to Jack's side. "Well fought Jack. I never expected anything else from the King." Yuya gets up from his runner, and holds his hand out for Jack. Jack steps up, and shakes his hand. "Who am I speaking to now?" He jokes. "We're all listening." Jack squeezes Yuya's hand tight before retracting it. "I want you to know this. No matter who you are, it was an honour for me to know you." There's a moment of clarity between them, as the cameras return the feed back to the director. As Yuya turns around to his runner, he feels something prick him in the neck. "Time to come home Yuya." Looking back, Yuya sees Reiji standing there, before his vision turns black.
