The golden man, known to the world as the first and greatest parahuman, contemplated. He considered what the past had held and what the future would—and decided neither mattered. Only the now did, and now, the world would burn. With an instant's thought, he transported himself to London, gazing down with contempt. Insects. The creatures below him were insects.

"Whatcha starin' at them ants for, Mistuh Scion?" asked a scruffy boy standing on the sidewalk next to the golden man.

Scion soared into the air to float high above the human city. Insects. The inhabitants of the city below were as insignificant as the ants crawling along the sidewalk. The uniformed human looked up in Scion's direction. "Cut it out."

The spheres of energy vanished and the golden man flew off into space.

"Maybe people didn't like eating ink," she said before taking a bite of her fish and sighing in pleasure.

"No, that can't be it… People spend tons of money to have someone put ink in their pasta and stuff."

"Well, you got me, then. Either way, these are great! Definitely worth the trip!" As they walked down the street eating their fish and chips, she thought for a moment then said, "You know, this is just like the time we…"
