Cornwallis's head snapped to the hidden door in the wall where we had just come from. "You! How did you? Never you mind." He shook his head "GUARDS GUARDS." Tavington turned toward me, angrier than I have ever seen him before.

"Please, General. just hear us out." I stepped around Tavington. " I may not have a reasonable explanation as to how I came to be in this time but I have evidence from my time and I can tell you all I remember up until I awoke here and became a burden to everyone here." I looked pointedly toward William whose eyes flashed with something unrecognizable until they reverted back to his usual facade of stone.

"I will hear you out as i am a reasonable man. Sit and show me this evidence and how you came to be here. Sit….please." His usual fatherly demeanor had still not returned. But why would it. I was still suspected of being a witch and tavington a traitor. He was all General at this moment.

"Before we start there are certain things I require…." Tavington Started as we sat down.

"What you require? What you require?" He barked. "You'll get what I deem fit with my good graces, Tavington." He sat down himself. "Proceed." Tavington went to open his mouth to speak. "Mrs. Tavington if you will." They both turned to look at me. I looked at Tavington who was clenching his jaw.

"I told you he doesn't like you." Tavington narrowed his eyes. Then crossed his arms as he looked straight ahead. " I would like to start with saying that I do not know how it is possible that i have been brought back into this time. I just know it happened and the events leading up to my transport were extremely violent from someone I thought I loved and should have been able to trust. I also believe I just heard his voice before we came in." Tavingtons gaze returned to me.

"What?! You didn't tell me you thought he was here." I turned to look at him.

"Really William. There's a lot of things you don't tell me." I snapped. "Anyways I'm not sure."

"I don't tell you things to protect you." His voice escalated.

"From what exactly! From us being married without my knowledge three days before you told me. What the hell were you protecting me from then huh? That was for your own selfish benefit. You only told you when it benefited you the most." My voice rose above his as he went to stand.

"ENOUGH! THE BOTH OF YOU!" Yelled Cornwallis as he slammed his hand down on his desk. We both turned to look at him. Tavington clearly seething, sat back down. "We shall get to that matter of Whitmore later. Now tell me how you came to be here and the proof you have." I nodded and placed my ID out in front of him as well as the book. He picked up my ID first looking at it curiously before looking up at me.

"That is my government issued Identification Card." Cornwalis looked back down at it.

"The Likeness is incredibly done. But my dear this says your date of birth is in 1999. And what is this material?"

"Precisely. I was born in 1999 yet it is not 2020. And It's made of polycarbonate. They also use that to make bullet proof glass." At this they both looked up at her astonished.

"Are you telling me where from, the windows are bullet proof?" He asked in unbelief. I turned to look at Tavington who was looking at me equally surprised

"Some yes. Mostly in government buildings." I said as I began to fidget with the hem of my sleeve. After all this Cornwallis still did not believe me.

"Convenient, I must say. Now tell me of the events that lead up to your arrival." Cornwallis leaned back in his chair.

"General. The events that lead up to my wife's arrival are quite…. Traumatic for her. I do not believe that we should force her to relive those moments sir." I turned to look at William who in turn looked at me. He looked concerned. Why is he so concerned for me when he didn't care how much he was going to hurt me just an hour ago? I turned back to Cornwalis who nodded.

"Surely the last few minutes of being in your time should suffice." I saw Tavington clutch the arm of the chair, his knuckles turning white.

"As William said it was a difficult and violent six months. I never felt safe for those last six months. I do not wish to go into any more detail other than on the last day I was walking home from School. We had just finished a lecture on...you Sir actually. When I was attacked by my ex-fiance who pulled me into an alley. I believe he is pretending to be Mr. Whitmore. I lost consciousness when he bashed my head into the wall. I saw a flash of purple light and I woke up when the Colonel and his captains found me." I looked between the two men. Cornwallis looked shocked.

"Your ex-fiance?" Cornwallis asked, shocked.

"Yes and I would like to add that he will do anything to find me. If and when he does…..and especially if he finds out…. Im married. He'll….. He'll." I began to feel nauseous and began to cry. Unable to finish that thought, fidgeting with my hands. I was unable to make eye contact with either of them. I heard movement come from next to me and in two strides William was crouched down next to me covering my hands to stop the fidgeting. I looked up and into his eyes. They looked warm and comforting. Which I found very strange.

"General." He kept his eyes on me. " We are done here. My wife has been through enough." He moved to wipe away the tears rolling down my cheeks. I flinched but he wiped the tears away nonetheless and stood turning toward the General who was watching the exchange solemnly.

"Of course." He stood from his plush seat. " I shall reinstate you as Colonel as this was just all a misunderstanding. And my dear girl. I am sorry for the events that you have been through. Especially those that could have been avoided here. One thing i'm curious about. Why do you think Captain Whitmore is this man you speak of."

"His voice." Cornwallis nodded

"Very well. We shall keep an eye on him. now if there is nothing else i have some things to attend to." He sat back down and picked up his pen as tavington took my hand and began leading me out of the office through the front door. I froze and tavington stopped to look at me.

"Stasi?' I looked down at our hands then back at him and nodded more to myself than to him.

" General? There is one more thing" I Kept my eyes locked on Colonel Tavington. "I would like a proper wedding." Tavington looked shocked but quickly put up his mask once more in front of his superior.
