She wanted to be snarky to rial her hunter up one last time before Cal could use the weapon Juliette was positive her hunter was carrying as soon as Cal was close enough to strike. Just like when she'd first followed into the pantry but there was something so raw about the way Cal was assessing her at the moment that had anything resembling speech stalling in her throat the longer the two remained simply staring at one another.
"Hi." She whispered once more this time far weaker than even her first saying a few short moments before as once again the vampire struggled to keep from fidgeting nervously under the hunter's silent gaze.
"Hi." Cal echoes as if on reflex then whatever spell was broken when Cal's nose wrinkled when her gaze dropped to the defiled sheets still covering the vampire's bed. "We can talk after you shower off whoever that other girl was." The hunter decides earning what passed for a cheeky smirk from the vampire currently rolling her eyes at the comment.
"I wouldn't have needed to call her if you hadn't kissed me." Juliette sassed tapping a finger against her temple. "So really walking into the aftermath is on you."
"You felt that?"
Juliette could only hum in answer what with even the memory of that not-so-innocent dream kiss with her hunter was once again stoking her hunger for something other than a warmed throat to bite. "I thought it was just my subconscious drudging up a heightened version of our first until I woke up." She admitted once she'd beaten her inner hunger back enough to attempt talking as she tugged up one corner of her unmade bedding.
"I don't need to know the details." Cal snapped pulling up the other side with enough force the thin fabric almost ripped in her tightened grip.
"She wasn't already here, I called her over once I realized cold showers weren't going to help." Juliette clarified her fangs just grazing her lower lip as Cal continued helping in the more mundane task of changing out the sheets. "Even in my dreams, you leave a lingering impression."
Cal ducks her head to hide her blush trying hard to hold on to the annoyance she felt which wasn't all that hard once she noticed a few of the yet-to-fade marks still dotting her legacy's neck. "You weren't in school. Why?"
The rough edge has the vampire's interest as she lazily dumps the balled-up bedding outside the door to deal with later.
"I can ask you the same…." Juliette stops when the taller girl backs her warningly up against the reclosed door.
"Stop toying with me Jules." A betraying shudder of longing races over her at the growled usage of her nickname but Juliette plays it off once she catches the warning flash of silver hidden beneath the taller girl's shirt collar. "I know you're still pissed about the stuff with my dad but how many times do I have to tell you before you believe me that I had nothing to do with that."
"Maybe not but there's still the wounds of…."
Cal shuts her up with a hard kiss. The drying taste of blood lingers on her lips when they separate primarily because of the growl-like hitch of the vampire's swallowed gasp of shock at the move.
Cal's eyes search Juliette's as they catch their mingled breath but then Juliette's hand was cupping the back of Cal's head her short trimmed nails pulling on the comforting side of pain as she guided the hunter's head towards her own exposed neck. "You always ended there anyway." Juliette reminds earning a low chuckle from Cal at the reminder as the legacy's body seemed to lean into her own.
Then Oliver's arm was wrapped in a tight chock hold around the hunter's throat dragging her back with a snarled "Come to try again, hunter?" against her ear his fangs bared while Cal struggled in his unyielding grip.
"Oliver." Juliette gasped in surprise but before she could move even to decide who to help her ex, or her brother Oliver was already releasing her hunter with a hissed snarl of his own holding his smoking forearm his fanged teeth now gritted in pain rather than anger whilst Cal was busy tugging her equally smoking tee shirt over her head as if the thing was literally on fire.
"What in the name of Lilith?" Oliver demands in a pained hiss as he literally rips away the sleeve of his shirt to reveal the silver laced welt-like burns lining his forearm. If she thought about it they reminded her strongly of bee stings.
"I don't…" Cal pants as her free hand reaches up to touch the oddly cold feeling sliver chain hanging at her throat. Her eyes slid towards an amused yet warry Juliette.
"I told you already I had that made for you." The legacy reminds already crossing to her dresser to pull out one of her own shirts in replacement for the one Cal had just added to the growing collection littering the bedroom floor. "and worth every cent it seems" she snickered eyeing the softly smoking marks on her brother's skin.
"Why are you still protecting her?" Oliver demands looking between the two with fresh anger coloring his eyes.
"One more dead hunter will only bring in more." Juliette reminds her arms crossed tightly over her front now as she met her brother's anger with her own cooler gaze. "We're meant to be laying low and here you are making trouble we can't afford to be making right now."
Oliver snickered then growled when attempting to straighten his arm only made the stinging pain grow with fresh pricking throbs. "Time will come when you have to pick a side, Julesy. Us or them you can't keep trying to have both."
"You better go have Carm take a look at that." Juliette answers making a point of putting herself between Oliver and Cal as she talked. Cal only notices later that Juliette also has her fangs bared as she stares her brother down until Oliver relents with a small incline of his head.
"Sometime soon hunter girl. I'm really going to enjoy replaying every wound you've given my little sister." The elder Fairmont legacy says before leaving the room still gingerly cradling his injured arm as he walked.
"You also owe me a new bedroom door." Juliette calls after him more for Cal's benefit than her own before turning fully back towards the stunned hunter standing behind her. "Well, I'm gonna hit the showers. Don't cause another fight before I'm done alright?" the vampire sighs "but if you and T could remake the bed that would be helpful."
Theo was already peaking around the edge of the broken doorframe as his maker spoke a bundle of what Cal guessed to be clean sheets in his hands.
Cal nodes in agreement with a shaky "yeah. Sure." But Juliette was already walking away out of the room towards what Cal could only guess to be the bathroom.
