Chapter 7: Fool me once

Inuyasha sighed as he watched Sesshomaru and Ryu lift the couch into his small apartment, he chewed the inside of his cheek as he watched the silver haired demon's biceps flex as the alpha carefully moved into the living room. He watched golden eyes concentrate as he adjusted and tilted the heavy piece of furniture into the living room, Sesshomaru directed Ryu whose back was facing his wife. Inuyasha couldn't hear anything, since blood was rushing to his face as his eyes cascaded down the muscular back that came into his view.

"Drooling much?" Kagome teased as she jolted him out of his lewd thoughts

Inuyasha jumped, and shot her a glare "Shut up" he said rolling his eyes, earning a laugh from the blue eyed beauty.

Sesshomaru slowly squated as he released the couch from his grasp, he grunted and cracked his neck attempting to release the building tension. He rolled his shoulders, and tugged at the wet tank top that clung to his body.

"I think that's it" Ryu said, dusting his hands, walking towards his wife.

Sesshomaru nodded, and said "Mhm, Yeah we already set up Tanner's bed and Inuyasha's new dresser"

"That couch is stunning, where did you get it Yash" Kagome asked

Inuyasha shrugged, and said "I have no idea, I was just told it was arriving today"

Sesshomaru chuckled, and leaned against the kitchen counter "I almost cut my ass on that death trap you call a couch, I think it was time for something new"

Inuyasha laughed, and said "Oh shut up, Doris was a wonderful couch"

"You named your couch?" Sesshomaru asked, folding his arms in front of his chest

Inuyasha huffed, and said "Yes I did"

Sesshomaru smiled, and teased "You're cute" as he stretched his arms above his head giving Inuyasha a clear view of the flexing muscle that strained and stretched against the skin wrapped around it.

"Well we should get going, gotta check on the kids"Kagome said quickly, motioning to her husband, Ryu shot her a confused look but followed his wife without a word. Completely missing the glare, Inuyasha was shooting the blue eyed beauty.

"Kagome!" Inuyasha exclaimed before she disappeared behind the worn off white door, he sighed and bit his lip as silence filled the apartment.

Sesshomaru stood in front of the Inuyasha, smirking as he watched the flustered beta.

"What's the matter? Afraid to be alone with me?" Sesshomaru asked, chuckling softly, as he shuffled his feet and leaned against the wall facing the beta.

Inuyasha kissed his teeth, and huffed "Keh yeah whatever" blush deepening on his tan cheeks, his mouth felt dry as he avoided the alpha demons gaze.

"Mhm so you haven't been avoiding me since Tanner's party?"

"You're here aren'tcha"

Sesshomaru nodded, and said "Only cause Kagome called and said the couch was arrive today" Sesshomaru pushed himself off the wall and slowly walked over to the blushing half demon.

"I tried calling you last night" Sesshomaru said slowly closing the gap between them

Inuyasha shrugged and hummed "I didn't hear my phone" he said quietly

Sesshomaru sighed, and stood close to Inuyasha. He watched the half demon stare at the ground, as he searched Inuyasha's stature for clues.

"Look Yash, if i'm over steppin-" Sesshomaru began before Inuyasha cut him off quickly

Inuyasha said quietly"No you're not, I appreciate the help! I'm just buggin"

Sesshomaru tucked his knuckle underneath Inuyasha's chin, and tilted his head upward;Sesshomaru stared into honey eyes and smiled.

"Talk to me, what's on ya mind?"

Inuyasha sighed, and said cautiously "Isn't this weird for you?"

Sesshomaru frowned, and asked "What's weird?"

Inuyasha huffed, and motioned between them and rampled "This, us! I'm your ex and we're spending all this time together"

Sesshomaru chuckled dryly, and crossed his arms in front of his chest "My ex? Is that how you see me, as just your ex?"

"Sesshomaru we have a complicated history, and we haven't talked about it"

"What's there to talk about? You dumped me, and moved on"

Inuyasha took a step back and huffed "I dumped you?, Sesshomaru you -"

Sesshomaru waved his hand loosely, and said quickly "Look there ain't no reason for us to dust off old skeletons! Do I make you uncomfortable?"

Inuyasha blurted out "Your my hot exboyfriend, the fuck do you think?"

Sesshomaru laughed, as Inuyasha blushed deeply. Sesshomaru smirked and said "Hot huh? So you think I'm sexy?"

Inuyasha's eyes widened as he ran his palm along his face, he tried to speak as his mouth gaped in shock.

"I didn't say that" Inuyasha stuttered

Sesshomaru tucked his hand underneath his tank top, and rubbed his stomach absently as he watched the half demon's eyes flicker towards his waist. Sesshomaru bit back his laugh as the fabric rose slowly giving Inuyasha a peek of the porcelain skin underneath.

"So you're attracted to me?" Sesshomaru said lowly, as he craned his head innocently.

Inuyasha bit back a groan, as he watched Sesshomaru toy with the hem of his own tank top. His gaze slid down, and watched the fabric move against the taunt skin. He licked his lips mindlessly, and allowed his mind to wander into the deepest part of the gutter; the teasing alpha certainly had no idea just how many times this week he had awoken covered in sweat after having a rather dirty and sensual dream about the alpha.

Sesshomaru repeated "So you're attracted to me?"

Inuyasha scoffed, and said "A blind nun could be attracted to you"

Sesshomaru closed the gap between him and the blushing beta, his head bent down as his smoldering eyes shined intensely. He craned his mouth closely to the half demon's velvet ear and whispered"do you want me?"

Inuyasha groaned as he felt the heat radiating off the alpha demon, he bit his lip as his eyes came face to face with the taunt chest he had been dreaming shivered as Sesshomaru dragged his clawed hand up his exposed arm, he swallowed the lump forming in his throat. He wanted the silver haired demon, that was undeniable. It had been a long time since he had felt anything remotely close to ecstasy; he closed his eyes and felt Sesshomaru pull him closer to his chest.

"God yes" he groaned

Sesshomaru smirked, and bent his head as he tiled the beta's neck; he growled into the exposed column. His lips hovered over the tan flesh, as he inhaled the half demon's scent. Wild flowers and foliage filled his senses as he closed his eyes, he placed a soft kiss on Inuyasha's neck, earning a small wine from the trembling demon beneath him. He nuzzled his nose against the exposed tender skin, and kissed along the passed. Inuyasha titled his head back, allowing Sesshomaru more access to continue his assault. Inuyasha's body felt hot as Sesshomaru kissed, and nipped his neck; his eyes fluttered shut as he gripped Sesshomaru's shirt tightly. He felt the demon's heated kisses, and soft lips; he nearly fainted when he felt a plush wet tongue lick the tender space between his shoulder and neck.

He gasped, and groaned at the sudden pressure as Sesshomaru scraped his teeth along his neck.

"Mhm fuck" Inuyasha moaned quietly

Sesshomaru fell deeper into his lust driven states, as he cupped the half demon's head gently. His fingers inching towards the full white mane that hung perfectly behind the beta, he tangled his hand into Inuyasha's hair and continued to nip, lick and suck the exposed neck. The air was heavy, and heated as he continued his assault against tanned skin. He felt a static shudder through his body, and heat shoot straight down to his groin at the sound of Inuyasha's moan.

He pressed his body against the half demons, as his other hand wandered past Inuyasha's mid back, and continued south. He enjoyed the plush, and softness of the beta's beautiful body; his fingers toyed with the hem of his shirt, he gently pushed the fabric upwards and moaned as he felt soft skin beneath his fingers. He continued to gently touch Inuyasha's waist, he followed the natural curve of the beta's hips, and gripped the plush feeling skin.

Inuyasha's eyes shot open as Sesshomaru gripped his love handle. He shrieked loudly, and pushed the demon off of him abruptly, his eyes widened as he wracked his hands through his hair.

"Yash?" Sesshomaru asked, as he tried to recover from the abrupt movement, he reached out to Inuyasha with a confused look on his face.

"You've gotta go!" Inuyasha blustered as he jumped and bolted towards the bathroom, leaving Sesshomaru alone, shocked and confused in his kitchen hallway. He shut the door loudly, and leaned against the wooden door, he cursed underneath his breath and bit his lip. His heart was racing as his ears twitched trying to listen for the alpha demon on the other side of the door.

He was met with silence while he tried to calm his breathing

"God what is wrong with me?" Inuyasha thought

"Thickness, are you alright? Did I do something?'' Sesshomaru's muffled voice rang through the wooden door.

He bit his lip, and said "Yeah, can you just go? I'm kinda tired" he said, rolling his eyes at his ridiculous excuse; he silently hopped the demon would leave.

He heard shuffling through the door, and watched the door knob jiggle.

"Can you open the door? I could -"

"Nope, no! Just get out" Inuyasha rushed, cursing the tone of his voice.

Sesshomaru on the other side of the door, was slightly taken back; he rang his hands through his hair and huffed.

He shot one last look at the door, and walked over towards the front door. Slid his shoes on and opened the front door before he walked through and slammed it loudly. He cursed underneath his breath as he walked towards the staircase; he heard a door open and looked back at the closed door.

"Hey! Where are you going" Kagome said as she flung open her front door and rushed into the hallway. She had been listening through the wall the entire time, shamelessly.

He cocked his eyebrow and said curtly "Home" as he turned his back and continued to walk down the stairs.

She ran towards the stairs, and bellowed "Why?! You two were just giving each other goo goo eyes and I'm keeping the kids for a little longer-" she trailed on insinuating

He paused, and looked up at her as his foot hit the final step.

"Ask Inuyasha, he locked himself in the bathroom after shoving me and telling me to get out" He said sternly before kissing his teeth, and pushing the door open. He brushed his bangs from his eyes, and walked over to his car, he unlocked the driver's door and slid in against the tan leather seats. He sat frustratedly, as his mind swirled.

He felt like an idiot

He had thought he read all the signs correctly, he didn't understand why the half demon suddenly wanted him to go. He had done everything right, at least he thought he did! He racked his brain, and went through their moment piece by piece; trying to figure out where he went wrong.

He held the steering wheel, as his mood continued to sour. He started the engine, and pulled onto the quiet street, he let his mind drift as he drove robotically. Perhaps he had been pushing the entire situation, overstepping and implementing himself where he wasn't needed or wanted; five years had passed since they'd been together, and they'd both changed radically. He was foolish to think he could just push himself back into the beta's life.

Back then, Inuyasha had been positive that they weren't meant to be together, so why was he pushing it again. For the second time, he felt the bitter sting of rejection and for the second time it was by the same man. He had been blindsided the first time when Inuyasha walked out of his life, he remembered begging and pleading with the older half demon to reconsider. His younger self couldn't understand why the beta wanted out, he had thought he was happy.

He frowned, as he remembered that argument. Inuyasha had been pissy the entire day, it was his final game of the season and he was focused on the scouts. Before the game they had a nasty argument about the future, and where Inuyasha saw them going. Sesshomaru agreed but felt like there was no rush, that they could get a nice apartment and work through their goals while building a relationship that could last before getting married and having kids. His eyes had searched the half demon's face, after the words left his lips; he had been late and had to leave, he didn't have time to kiss away the doubts that filled the snowy haired beta's head. He promised Inuyasha that they'd continue their discussion after the game, but the game came and they'd won! In the midst of victory, he had only wanted to celebrate with the long eared half demon but when he found him, he had been greeted by a stoic face. He had reached the half demon and moved to kiss him, only to be pushed back.

"We want different things, and I think it's time we move on" Inuyasha said

Those words rang through his mind, he had felt his heart break as he watched Inuyasha throw his bag into the back of his truck before disappearing from his life. In the midst of celebration, he watched the man he loved drive off into the cool august night.

Sesshomaru shook his head free of the memory as a familiar pang crept through his chest, he didn't want to go back there. The pain Inuyasha had caused him back then had cut him deeply, and the scars were still tender; He sped up and tightened his grip on the steering wheel, he looked over to his phone and clenched his jaw. He grabbed his phone roughly, and paused before dialling a familiar number.

Sesshomaru shook his head as a familiar pang crept through his chest, and sped up as he turned onto the highway. He pulled out his phone and dialled a familiar number, he waited until he heard a silk voice fill his senses.

"Hey baby" the voice rang

"Hey,whatcha doin?"

"Thinking about you darling"

He chuckled, and said "Yeah, how about you make your way to my place?"

"I've missed you sugar, what time tonight?"

He racked his hand through his hair, and gripped the steering wheel with others.

"Now" he said firmly before he hung up, and chucked the phone into the backseat.

He didn't need to be told a third time that Inuyasha didn't want him.

Inuyasha sat on the floor with his head nestled between his knees, he heard the floor creak as the bathroom door was pushed open. He remained still, as Kagome sat in front of him, her legs crossed in front of each other. She laid the baby monitor beside her, and looked over at him with a concerned look on her face.

"Rea's and Tanner are sleeping with the boys, Ryu's watching them. So we've got time for you to tell me what the fuck happened" Kagome asked

He sniffled, and shook his head "I'm an idiot, that's what happened!"

Kagome cocked her, and pressed "Yash, I don't understand. Did Sesshomaru do something to you"

He shook his head frantically, and hiccuped before he whined "No no, he was amazing" tears streamed down his face as he hugged his knees.

She frowned, and asked "Then what's the problem?"

"I'm a fucking mess, that's the problem! I freaked when he touched-" He said sadly, stopping before he could finish as a sob wracked through his body.

She leaned forward, and gently placed her hand atop it and squeezed it briefly.

"Yash I don't-" she pressed

He huffed, and said "He was amazing, and sweet! It felt so good but I'm a fucking psycho werido"

Kagome stayed silent as tried to connect the dots, she began cautiously "You two had sex?"

He shook his head, and continued sobbing

She sighed, and said "Okay Yash, I need you to take a deep breath and walk me through it"

He bit his lip as he stifled a sob, he took a deep breath and said "We started talk about the past and I was trying to uhm not seem so fucking desperate. He looked so fucking sexy"

Kagome chuckled, and nodded as she continued to listen.

Inuyasha looked up, and swallowed the lump in his throat as he continued "We were flirting, and then he started getting closer and he uhm started kissing my neck. I melted immediately, it felt so good and then he pressed his body against mine gods"

Inuyasha was blushing, as he recounted the previous event that transpired in the hallway of his kitchen.

"Okay Yash, I'm not following! All i'm hearing is good things" she smiled widely

"He grabbed my fat handle" he blurted out, as he covered his face with his knees.

She arched her eyebrow, and cocked her head "Fat handle?" she said slowly

Inuyasha sighed, and stretched his legs outwards before lifting his shirt slightly to show her the area he was talking about.

"Are you serious? Yash, he was grouping you! You know, coping a feel, trying to get up all in that!"

"You don't understand"

"No the fuck I don't" she fought back as a wave of annoyance washed over her. She was getting sick of her friend's incessant need to bring up his weight.

"You're perfect, and tiny! No one's ever pointed at you and called you a fat slob. The stores are all brimming with your sizes, you don't have to shop at Costco for fucking pants" he ranted, his face red as tears spilled from his eyes.

She was taken back by his sudden outburst, her gaze softened as she began to understand his train of thought.

"You're right, I don't get it and I probably won't. Our bodies are different but that doesn't mean yours isn't beautiful! You don't see how he looks at you, like he's just waiting for you to notice that he wants you" she said softly, she moved from her seated position and crawled closer, and she leaned against the wall and took his hand into her lap.

"He likes it Yash, all of it! So I don't think the problem is him, I think it's that you're uncomfortable in your skin"

Inuyasha rolled his eyes, and opened his mouth before Kagome shushed him.

"You said he grabbed it? Do you think he was teasing you about it or was grabbing you because he wanted to feel more of you" she pressed

"Kagome" he sighed, as he titled his head back.

She hummed, and said "Okay, he was pressed against you?"

He nodded quietly, avoiding her gaze

"Was he hard?" she asked nonchalantly

Inuyasha coughed, and shot her a look of disbelief. He stared at her wide eyed, as he tried to catch his breath.

"Well!" she pressed again

He stuttered "Well uhm I uhm, erm yeah" he huffed, slightly embarrassed by the line of conversation.

She nodded "Okay so what happened was your hot ex boyfriend who's been shooting you goo goo eyes for the past few weeks, felt you up and gave you a giant ass hickey and you freaked out because you think that he thinks your fat"

He groaned and banged his head against the wall, "I'm a fucking idiot"

She hummed, and said "Oh yeah, big time! Nice hickey though"

Inuyasha laughed, and shook his head. He felt her lean against him, he took a deep breath and tried to calm the storm of emotion that began stirring inside. He cursed inwardly, he had certainly made a mess of the situation; it wasn't easy for him, it had been so long since anyone took interest in him and after everything with Kakashi, his nerves were incredibly shot. He viewed Sesshomaru as a fantasy, something sweet that he could daydream about but not have;but then the alpha demon started kissing his neck softly, and he had been elated. It felt amazing, and for a moment he was lost in a sea of ecstasy but it came crashing down when he felt those hands grab the tender part of his body, his eyes shot open and he could see the look of disgust on Kakashi's face flash in front of his eyes.

He knew logically that Kagome was right, that the problem lay with him but it was easier to simply think that the alpha demon felt the same way Kakashi did, the same way he did.

He sighed, and closed his eyes.

"You should call him" Kagome began as she yawned quietly, "Explain that you're working through some issue and that you want-" Kagome frowned, and looked over at Inuyasha, before she said "What do you want?"

He looked over at her, and said "Good fucking question

Sesshomaru's head throbbed as he groaned against his silk sheets, he rubbed his face and yawned before pushing himself off the bed. He sat upright and looked around the brightened room, his gaze feel onto the tangled set of limbs and sheets beside him; Kyora laid next to him, deeply asleep and naked. He reached over to his phone, and looked at the time; he had met Kyora at his condo downtown, and ravished the crimson haired beta well into the night. Flashes of the previous evening ran through his mind, as he cupped his head; they hadn't made it to the bed the first time. He had taken the beta roughly against the wall inside of the elevator, and again on the floor of his kitchen, and again on the piano in his living room. His body ached,as he remembered the numerous positions he had bent the phoenix demon into. He had bit, and nipped at the soft skin while he pounded into the tight heat that waited for him; he had been rough and angry.

"Must've fell asleep" he thought, as he unlocked his phone and noticed the ten missed calls, and eight text messages. He frowned at the name that populated his screen, he sighed and hesitated as he tried to place the phone back onto the night stand. He looked back at the sleep beta tangled in his sheets, and groaned.

He looked down at his phone and dialled his voicemail.

"Hey Sessh, uhm call me okay! I want to apologise -" he pressed 7 deleting the message, he waited for the second message to play.

"You've got every right to be upset, I acted like a child and I shouldn't -" he pressed 7 again, deleting the message and waited again.

"I've been calling all night Sesshomaru please, just pick up," he rolled his eyes, and pressed 7 once more, deleting the message again.

He waited for another message again, "Sesshomaru I'm a mess okay, and I'm sorry! I'm an idiot but I need you" he hesitated, before deleting the message.

He bit his lip while the last message played "Don't leave me 'Maru please, I need you"

He closed his eyes, rubbed his neck as he sighed before he placed his phone gently on the nightstand. He laid back, and closed his eyes as he felt the bed shift.

"Mhm who was that?" Kyora mumbled

Sesshomaru extended his arm, as the cherry haired beta snuggled into his chest.

"No one" he said stoically

Sorry it took me so long, work has been crazy! Strap in for a bump ride, Sesshomaru got some baggage!
