Chapter 7: I'm so into you
Kagome awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside the window, she groaned as her eyes fluttered open and struggled to adjust to the bright light that streamed into the room; illuminating the space. She yawned quietly, and stretched her legs before quietly turning over; she smiled as her eyes fell upon the sleeping demon. She watched as he laid on his back, slept deeply; they had spent the evening drinking wine and playing a rather fun game of twenty questions. After a couple glasses of wine the game slowly turned into something a bit more adult; questions surrounding their adventures and sexual prefrences had begun to appera. She learned alot about Sesshomaru, including the fact that after a few drinks, he was rather lose lipped. She smiled as she watched him sleep, his chest raising and falling; he appeared so peaceful and almost innocent without his normal scowl; without the weight of his responsibilities and life weighing down on him.
She lifted her hand and gently traced the magenta coloured stripes that adored his face, she hummed quietly as she dragged her fingers along his face, admiring his exotic beauty. His skin was soft underneath her finger; fair and blemish free.
"What are you doing?" Sesshomaru asked, his voice husky as he slowly opened his eyes
Kagome jumped, and giggled "Have you been awake this entire time?"
Sesshomaru looked over to her with heavy eyes, and said "No"
She smiled, and said "Not a morning person"
"No" he said quickly
She chuckled and moved closer to him, her face dangling above his; their view covered by a curtain of raven hair. She leaned down, and said softly "Maybe this will help", she pressed a soft kiss on his lips. A spark electrified through her body, as she moved her lips against his; she smiled into the kiss as she felt his hand cradle her head gently.
She pulled away slowly, and smiled "Good morning" she said quietly, her blue eyes peering into his.
He smiled, and said "Morning"
A blush crept onto her face as she looked into his eyes, she lost herself in swirls of golden honey. They remained locked into each other's embrace; he brushed his fingers along her forearm, goosebumps raised in his stead as he traced small patterns into her skin softly. Her heartbeat sped up, as her eyes dropped to his lips, she leaned down to reclaim his lips before a knock was heard. She looked over to the door and sighed before reluctantly pulling away from the demon. Her feet landed on the floor, as they padded against the wooden floor, she pulled open the door and revealed her song with tousled hair.
She chuckled "Morning honey"
Shippou looked up at her, and silently placed his arms in the air beckoning her to pick him up, she scoffed and picked him before she turned and looked over at Sesshomaru. She shot him a soft smile, and said "Meet you downstairs?"
He nodded, and watched her disappear into the hallway.
He stretched his body, and looked up at the ceiling, it had been years since the last time he had slept so peacefully. After their evening together, he had wrapped himself around her small frame and fell into a blissful sleep, he chucked to himself. He had never been affectionate, but he found himself craving her touch and enjoying the small sounds she made in her sleep. He hummed as he teared himself away from the bed, and threw his hair into a messy bun before he swung his legs over the edge of the bed. The floorboards creaked as it barred his weight; his feet quietly padded against the old floor as he moved towards the door, following the sweet scent of lavender and nutmeg that hung in the air. His sweatpants hung loosely on his waist, and his tanktop fit snugly on his chest as he grabbed the railing gently, and effortlessly floated down the staircase. He reached the bottom of the stairs, and entered the dining room, and watched Kagome as she buzzed around the kitchen.
He approached her, and pressed his chest closely against her back, he pressed a small kiss against her neck and whispered "Would you like any help?"
She sighed, and shook her head as she leaned into his touch "You made dinner, so I'm making breakfast"
He smiled against her skin "I do not mind sweets, I'd cook for you anytime"
"I'll take you up on that"
"Mama" Shippou whined, his face reddened
They turned, and look at the little boy who scowled as Sesshomaru held Kagome affectionately.
"Yes Shippo?" Kagome asked, as she turned to face her son"
"Mama, what we doin' today? I wanna go in wat'r without 'tomaru"
Kagome frowned, and cocked her hip before she said sternly "Shippo that's not very nice, and that's not how we speak!"
Shippo crossed his arms, and said " Dat's how papa talks"
Kagome fought herself, as she held back from rolling her eyes, she closed her eyes and said gently "Just because Dad says something, doesn't mean you have too! Apologizes to Sesshomaru"
Shippo huffed, and banged the table angrily "He's not my dad, and I hate him and you"
Sesshomaru arched a delicate eyebrow, and held back a scoff.
Kagome spun around and said "Go upstairs right now", she clenched her jaw and banged the spatula on to the counter
"He's just acting out, give him some space" Sesshomaru said as he held her forearm softly
She huffed, and threw the spatula onto the floor "Argh! This is ridiculous, he acts like his father some sort fucking saint! The son of a bitch cheats on me, and abandons his family and yet I'm the bad guy" she gripped her hair before slamming her fist into the counter.
"Kagome It's-"
"LIAR" Shippou said loudly, causing the two of them to jump, they both looked down at the little boy with tears in his eyes.
Kagome stood shocked; the anger leaving her body as she watched tears roll down her son's chubby face.
"Shippo I didn't-"
"You're a liar, and I hate you" Shippou screamed before he ran towards the front door, and shot through the wooden barrier; breaking it with ease. Spinters, and broken pieces of wood flew into the air.
"Shippou" she yelled, as she ran after the little boy. She stepped over broken pieces of wood, and stood outside. She looked frantically, her head whipping back and forth as she lost sight of the small child. Sesshomaru calmly walked up behind her, and placed his hands on her shoulders "Get your shoes, he probably didn't get far"
She called out into the morning air as hot tears ran down her face; she turned to look at Sesshomaru and ran inside. She grabbed her shoes quickly, and his sandals; she shoved them into his chest and ran outside.
He put on his sandals, and followed the frantic woman onto the beach. He followed her closely, as she yelled out for her son; her raven haired whipping in the wind. She ran out towards the water, and shouted her son's name repeatedly.
"Kagome," Sesshomaru said calmly, as he attempted to still her movements.
She pushed him, and said "Why aren't you helping? My son just ran off Sesshomaru, he's only-"
Sesshomaru said softly "He's not here, come"
She frowned and crossed her arms in front of her chest, her jaw clenched.
He sighed, and said "I have his scent"
Her eyes widened as she nodded and followed quietly. Her heart clenched as the vision of her son's pained face passed through her mind, she hadn't meant to lose her cool and say something so vicious. She had been careful about keeping her opinions about to herself, especially regarding her ex-husband; lately she had been caught herself spewing venom to anyone who would listen. Her ire towards her ex-husband rising to a boiling point, and slowing spilling over. She couldn't help it, the man she had loved and pledged herself to not only cheated on her but abandoned her and their son without a second word. Leaving her to raise Shippo on her own, find somewhere to live and build a new life for them; she was angry. She knew that Inuyasha was Shippo's hero and she had tried to keep his father's image alive in her son's eye but struggled daily, she was still hurting too.
She chewed her lip nervously as her eyes scanned the beach nervously, tears spilling from her eyes.
"It is not your fault Kagome" he reassured her
She shook her head frantically, and said "It's my fault! I'm his mother, it's my job to protect him"
Sesshomaru stopped, and turned to look at Kagome; her hair was blowing wildly in the breeze, his eyes softened as he pulled her closely.
"The both of you are going through alot, and deserve some grace" he said as he tilted her head, and kissed her forehead softly. He peered into her eyes, and stroked her cheek before turning around and walking towards the far side of the beach. She tried to slow her breathing, as they walked through the sand; Sesshomaru sniffed the air and changed direction. As they reached the end of the beach, her nerves began to appear once again as she craned her head in the other direction.
"Maybe we should split up" She said as she tried to make out the small figure behind her
He shook his head, and said "There is no need, look" he pointed into the far off distance in front of them. She spotted a similar tuff of ginger coloured hair, she broke out into a run and struggled as she tried to quicken her pace against the soft sand. She hit the concrete, and continued running as the wind whipped through her hair, her thighs burning as she ran towards the small child sitting on a cylinder concrete block. Tears streamed down her face as her view became clearer; she reached him and immediately pushed him into her chest.
"Oh my god Shippou, you scared the shit out of me" She said as she cradled him to breast, she held him tightly for a moment before reluctantly pulling him away from, she looked into his shielded face. His face was dirty, tear stained and caked with sand; she wiped his face softly and said "My poor baby"
Shippou sniffled, and looked behind his mom as a familiar silver haired man approached them. His gaze fell away, as he refused to look into his or his mother's eyes.
"Shippou?" Kagome asked concerned
Shippou hiccuped, and said "I'm sorry mama"
Sesshomaru nodded, as he stood behind Kagome "Men don't run away from their problems Shippo, we talk it out" he said sternly
Shippou chewed his lip, and said "I gots mad cause mama said mean things about daddy but-"
Sesshomaru tilted his head, while he stood tall; his hands in his held him in her arms, and soothingly rubbed his hair.
"But daddy never calls me and he didn't keep his promise" Shippou said sadly
Sesshomaru nodded, as he struggled not to roll his eyes at the lackluster fool of an alpha.
"It's true Mama? Daddy 'bandon me?" Shippou said quietly
Kagome sobbed into her son's hair, and quietly nodded; she looked over to Sesshomaru as tears filled her blue eyes. The scene in front of him caused his heart to ache, he felt a sudden burst of anger bubble in his stomach as he ached to punch the half-breed in his face.
He hesitantly placed his hand on the crying boys back, they remained in place trying to soothe the sad child. As the morning air filled with salt, and carried the distant sound of seagulls; he looked over at the rushing tide, and then up at the darkening sky, dark clouds rolled in and a sudden sound of thunder rumbled behind the sky. He clenched his jaw, as his mood suddenly mirrored the weather; a promise of trouble brewing.
The pair along with Shippou walked back in silence towards the beach house, both adults lost in their thoughts. They reached the house quickly, and parted ways; Kagome went upstairs to put Shippou in bed, the small kit had tired himself out and sometime during the walk had fallen asleep. Sesshomaru leaned against the doorframe as his eyes scanned the mess that littered the floor, he leaned down and gently grabbed the wood. He walked through the mess, and climbed the stairs, his mind whirling as he entered their room.
He sat on the bed quietly, with a frown marring his face; Shippo's pained voice ringing through his knew the kit's pain all too well, since he was around the same age when his father had left him. He remembered staying up every night waiting by the living room window for his father to come home; he'd spent nights crying as he wailed for his father. The worst part of it all had been "the wondering"; as a young small child he didn't know why his father had decided to leave him and the feeling of abandonment had spawned and nestled inside of him at the age of six and as he grew older cause him to become colder; he wanted to save Shippo from a similar fate.
He silently cursed the infernal half breed, as their stories aligned; His fingers flexed, as his hands ached to beat the long eared freak.
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome said quietly as she entered the room
He looked up at her, and sighed "How is he?"
She walked over to him, and sat on the bed "He cried himself to sleep"
He nodded as his gaze fell to his fingers, he clenched his fist and said "I want to squeeze the life out of that piece of shit"
Kagome chuckled dryly and said "Me first! Inuyasha and I need to have a little chat!"
"I will back you up happily Kagome"
They sat quietly with the weight of the morning bearing down on the pair; it was an unexpected turn after the beautiful evening they had together. Kagome took Sesshomaru's hand and laid the large appendage in her lap, she delicately traced the lines quietly. She held his hand and took a deep breath as her eyes slid closed; Sesshomaru was becoming her anchor, holding her in place as she felt buoyant and unstable. She was steadily relying on him whenever she felt a crack in her foundation; he acted swiftly and calmly today, handling the situation with vigor and grace while she slowly lost it.
"Sess?"
He hummed, as she leaned against his shoulder
"Thank you for being here" she said softly
Once they'd awoken later in the afternoon, they both sprang from the bed quietly and began packing; a mutual understanding that it was time to return to reality. Sesshomaru sent a quick message to his friend alerting him of the damage and assuring him that he'd happily pay for a new door. Sesshomaru grabbed their bags, and walked out the bedroom door towards the staircase with Kagome closely behind, holding Shippo close to her breast. He reached the main floor, and walked down the hallway and opened the backdoor leading to the parking lot. He opened the door and walked towards his car, opened the car trunk door roughly and threw their bags inside before closing the ajar door. He walked over to the driverside, opened the door and climbed in. He quietly closed his door, and waited as Kagome buckled the small toddler into the carseat. He watched as she closed the door and walked towards the passenger side, opened the door and climbed inside.
She sighed as her head dipped back against the headrest
He looked over back at Shippo in the backseat, and quietly pulled out of the driveway; Kagome held her purse tightly in her lap, and said "I'm sorry"
Sesshomaru drove down the street slowly, following the natural flow of the street, moving towards the freeway. He frowned, and looked over to her "Why are you apologizing?"
"I meant for this to be a relaxing trip but-"
He shook his head, and said "Sweets there's nothing to explain or apologize for"
She nodded, and looked out the window, he gently placed his hand atop hers and squeezed hers reassuringly.
"It's okay" he said quietly
The sight of the ocean left their view as they drove down the freeway; the sun shined against the horizon in an orange, and pink coloured sky. The late afternoon crept into their view as Sesshomaru sped back to the city; they reached Harlem quickly just before five pm and magically or rather luckily Shippo had fallen asleep, and remained asleep the entire drive. The pair had remained silent the entire time, as Kagome was consumed with raw emotion. Sesshomaru parked on the side of the road in front of the townhouse, he moved to open the door before she stopped him quickly
"Wait here" she said curtly earned a slightly shocked look from the daiyoukai; he quickly regained his composure and simply nodded.
She opened the door quietly, before she gathered her son in her hands and walked up the was greeted immediately by Kagura who had a look of concern.
"Chicken what's going on?" Kagura asked as she looked at the car behind her.
"I've gotta do something, can you take Shippo?" she asked, as the wind demoness nodded and took the sleeping child.
She ran down the stairs, walked over to the car before she opened the door and climbed in. She sat quietly as Sesshomaru looked over at her.
"Did you mean what you said?" she said as she looked down at her hands
He cocked his head, waiting for her to continue
"About having my back?"
He nodded "Yes, why do you ask?"
"Take me to 81st and McCowen! I need to talk to Inuyasha before I lose my nerve"
He nodded quietly, and sped down the street. He darted down the street with a cold look in his eyes that made him appear more like a warrior than a bartender; she had spent the entire ride over quietly bouncing between rage and sadness. She had an uncontrollable urge to protect her son, and she knew exactly who her target was; she never thought that Inuyasha would become public enemy number one but she had decided to accept her newfound reality and would confront the half demon. Whatever the consequences may be, she quietly accepted them but she refused to allow Inuyasha to continue to inadvertently hurt Shippo without any repercussions.
They arrived at the skyscraper tower in Upper Manhattan quickly, thanks to Sesshomaru driving. Sesshomaru's stern face was set like stone as he climbed out of the car and walked over to the main door,Kagome following closely behind. He walked in, and stood tall with an air of power and steel that hung around his frame. He lacked the prestige that came with being born into money but the scent of his aura and demon made him look every bit a daiyoukai. They reached the elevators and waited impatiently as the red light shined, and two golden doors slid open; Kagome hit the 32 button and waited for the doors to slide shut.
She sighed, and said "Just follow my lead ok"
He nodded, and threaded his fingers through her "I have your back Kagome"
"I need you Sesshomaru, we both do" She whispered as the elevator doors opened, revealing the bustling office of Takahashi Corp.
"You have me, both of you do"
She walked proudly through the office, targeting a familiar office. She looked over towards Inuyasha's assistant and stalked over to the bat demoness. Heads peered out of their office doors as their eyes followed her frame, and the mysterious silver haired dog demon that clung her sweetly.
"Good Afternoon, Welcome to Takakshi Corp. Do you have an appointment with Mr. Takakshi?" she asked sweetly
She raised an eyebrow and said "Where's Inuyasha?"
The demoness smiled fakely "I'm sorry Mr. Takashi is busy speaking to Mr. Owa, can I take a message"
Sesshomaru arched an eyebrow, and leaned closely to the demoness. The bat demoness swallowed a lump in her throat as she caught the cold intense look in the demon's eyes, she chewed the inside of her cheek nervously as she felt his aura crackle through the air.
"Are they inside this office" he said pointing towards the office that in close proximity of the receptionist desk
She nodded quietly, as he simply turned and pulled the door open revealing a large classically decorated space; two men turned at the sudden intrusion as Sesshomaru walked into the office. Kagome quietly locked the door behind them, and stood beside Sesshomaru.
"Kagome, is everything alright?" Kirinmaru said, as he sat in front of the desk with Inuyasha on the edge, his back facing the pair. Inuyasha turned with a look of bewilderment in his eyes.
"Not really Uncle Kirinmaru, I need to speak to Inuyasha" Kagome said sternly causing the dragon demon to raise an eyebrow
"What's going on Kagome?" Kirinmaru said, eyeing the silver haired demon that stood beside her.
Kagome looked over at Inuyasha, balled up her first before she stalked over to him furiously and punched the half demon in the nose. She groaned as pain consumed her hand, and she shook the appendage frantically.
"Argh what the fuck Kagome?" Inuyasha said, completely unphased by the human's weak hit.
Kagome held her hand to her chest, and said "You're a foul shit! You haven't called or visited your son in two weeks! You promised that you would"
Inuyasha rolled his eyes, and said "Oh hop off it would ya! I've been busy"
Sesshomaru watched the scene, and quietly walked closer to the pair; his golden eyes shining as they gleamed like a predator stalking their prey. He closed the gap between himself, and Inuyasha before cocking his fist back and punching the half demon square in his jaw, knocking him off his feet.
"Sesshomaru!" Kagome said loudly, grabbing the older demon's arm and pulling him closer to her.
Kirinmaru's smirked dropped before his head whipped in Kagome's direction, his head cocked as he pushed his chair back and quietly stood up. "Sesshomaru" he said quietly, with widened eyes. The name rolled off his tongue with ease, as he looked over at the foreign dog demon with a critical eye. He rounded the desk, and walked over to the fighting trio; his eyes fell to the magenta markings and striking silver hair.
He cleared his throat, as he tore his eyes from Sesshomaru. He smiled softly and said "It's good to see you kid", he opened his arms beckoning the human, Kagome sighed as walked over to the dragon demon. He closed his arms around her, and held her tightly against his chest; they pulled apart as she said "yeah you too"
"What's going on kid?" he said as his hand dropped from her sides, soft green eyes peering into striking blue ones.
She sighed "How much do you want to know?"
Kirinmaru folding his arms in front of his chest "I'm listening"
"Well Inuyasha cheated on me with Kikyo, and left me for her. He pushed me out of our home, and I had to stay with a friend here in the city. Shippo's taking it really hard, mostly because Inuyasha has flat out refused to do his job"
Kirinmaru nodded his head slowly, and said "And you've clearly had enough and decided to confront him with the help of your boyfriend?"
Kagome tucked her hair behind her ear "Is that the best plan? Nope but it's all I got"
Kirinmaru took her hand softly "It's not all you got, you've got me too!"
Inuyasha groaned as he returned to his feet, he cursed under his breath and said "Uncle Kiri, you don't know the whole story! She's not innocent in all of this"
Kirimaru looked over at his godson, and immediately saw Toga; he shook his head as the half demon not only bore a striking resemblance to his old friend, not only in appearance. The situation felt all too familiar as he stared at his godson with a look of disgust.
"Is she not? And what of Shippo? Is he also not innocent in all of this!" Kirinmaru said sternly, pulling away from Kagome and moving to stand between the pair of dog demons. He placed a heavy hand on Inuyasha's chest and pushed him into the wall roughly; he watched blood drip from his nose.
"Did you not make a vow? Did you not promise this woman to love her and remain faithful? You see the way I see it is, she's completely innocent! She honored her vows and raised your child, and you not only shamed her but you continue to neglect your duties!" Kirinmaru said as his voice raised, he shook his head before turning to face the elder dog demon.
The cold golden eyes looked familiar as he peered into them " Sesshomaru was it? Do you have a last name"
Kirinmaru chuckled and raised his hands "You're not in trouble, hell I would've done the same thing! I just want to know your name. You look vaguely familiar"
"I do not know you" Sesshomaru said stoically
"Your parents perhaps? Your father?" he asked cautiously
Sesshomaru visibly tensed, and remained quiet as Kirinmaru watched him. The dragon demon nodded and said "Maybe it's your mother then?"
Sesshomaru raised his head, and said "Towa, my last name is Towa"
Kirinmaru sucked in a cold breath, as he struggled to remain composed. "InuKimi Towa is your mother?"he questioned as he watched the demon diligently
Kagome cocked her hand, and approached Kirinmaru slowly. A hand was placed on his back, he kept his eyes trained on the silver haired demon; he watched the demon's subtle movements and marveled at the resemblance to the woman that captured his heart.
"You know InuKimi" Kagome asked
"Yes she is my mother" Sesshomaru said
The air left Kirnimaru's body quickly as his mind swirled viciously, he stood in front of Kimi and Toga's son. The man in front of him had grown vastly, and held his mother's soft feminine features, and Toga's same imposing stature; the young man was built like a mountain, solid, wide and vast.
His eyes widened, with his mouth agape, he looked over at Inuyasha "You're dating Kagome? Inuyasha's ex-wife"
"Hey if the freak wants my sloppy seconds, he can have her"
Kirinmaru pointed at Inuyasha and said viciously "Shut the fuck up Inuyasha, none of this wouldn't have happened if you didn't put your baby dick into someone else" Kirinmaru said harshly, he looked over to Sesshomaru and said sternly "You two need to leave"
Kagome frowned and said "Uncle Kirinmaru I-"
Kirinmaru shook his head, and said "Not now okay, I will talk to Toga about Inuyasha and he will handle it but you both need to leave immediately" Kirinmaru quickly walked over to the door, and pulled it open. He stuck his head out, and frantically checked the main floor; he looked over to his receptionist.
"Where's T-, Inuyasha's father ?"
"He's having a late lunch with his wife sir"
He nodded, and led the two out of his office; moving quickly towards the elevator. He frantically pushed the button as he watched the elevator's numbers change quickly; he looked behind him as sweat began to bead on his forehead. He thanked god when he heard the soft ding of the elevator; they darted into the golden box, and Kirinmaru hit the underground parking button.
"We parked on the street" Kagome said her voice laced with concern
Kirinmaru looked over to her and said frantically "It's uhm more private to go through the parkade. Go through it, and turn left! It will take you into the street" his eyes found Sesshomaru's as he swallowed a lump in his throat. He watched the numbers reduce and thankfully they reached the parkade without any interruptions; the doors opened and he shoved them out. He took one last look at the couple, and shouted quietly "Sesshomaru!"
Sesshomaru looked back, and waited for the dragon demon to speak
"Don't come back here son" Kirinmaru said sternly as the doors slid shut.
He leaned against the cool metal doors, and took a deep breath; He pressed his floor number and waited for the elevator to return him to his office. He had been spending time with Kimi regularly but she kept her son separate from their conversations and he had an only seen old photo of the child, who was now a grown man. He bit his lip as his heart pounded against his ribcage; standing in front of the product of his old friend's love was too much for him too handle. He knew it wasn't Sesshomaru's fault that he had pined after Kimi since he was in college, but it didn't mean that he didn't have a small flicker of resentment for his existence.
He groaned, and said under his breath "I need a fucking drink"
He walked out of the elevator, and back into his office; he was greeted with a view of Toga's back. He closed his eyes briefly, and thanked the gods; Izaoyi stood beside his old friend, as Inuyasha explained the situation. Kirinmaru slammed the door loudly causing the human in the room to jump,her eyes found his green ones and a tight smile adorned her face. He held back a scoff and an eye roll; they had never liked each other.
"Kiri, what is this about someone punching Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha moved to open his mouth, and Kirinmaru pointed at him sternly with a look of anger on his face.
"This sorry excuse for a man has continued to sherik his responsibility as Shippo's father! Kagome and her boyfriend came to apply pressure and convience this sniveling ingrate to nut the fuck up"He sneered
"Kirinmaru please don't talk about my son like that" Izayoi said softly
Kirinmaru rolled his eyes and said "Your son is a terrible person, and maybe if you owned that and addressed it! He'd have a shot in hell of becoming a decent person"
Toga shook his head, and said "What is wrong with you? That is your child, you don't just abandon things when you are bored"
"You're one to talk" Kirinmaru thought
"Dearest, it's not Inuyasha's fault! Kagome and Inuyasha were fighting all the time, and my baby deserves love" Izaoyi said softly, as she hung off her husband, her perfectly manicured hand rubbing his chest lovingly.
"Your baby needs an asswhopping" Kirinmaru sneered rolling his eyes
Toga looked over to his friend with a look of fatigue and said "I will handle this, can you give us a moment?"
Kirinmaru nodded, and shot Inuyasha a glare before disappearing from Inuyasha's office. He walked towards his office, and stopped in front of his receptionists office; he smiled at her attempting to keep composure.
"Darling, can you hold my calls for the remainder of the day, and cancel my meetings tomorrow! I need to take a personal day"
She smiled shyly, and nodded before he walked over to the private elevator. He quietly enjoyed the ride down, and once he reached the parkade, and slid into his car. He took in a deep breath and let out a loud scream; his lungs protested as he pushed everything out! His skin burned as he ached for an escape; a fix of some kind. He slammed his fist into the steering wheel repeatedly, as he took out his frustrations and rage on it. He was angry at Inuyasha for being exactly like Toga, he was angry at Toga for abandoning Sesshomaru and Kimi, he was angry at Kimi for not seeing that he loved her but most of all he was angry with himself for being such a coward.
He huffed and leaned into the seat as he tried to calm his breathing; he sighed and shook his head as the realization dawned on him.
He was immensely fucked
Sesshomaru and Kagome laid in her bed, holding each other tightly. They had arrived at the brownstone shortly after being escorted out of the building; Kagome hummed as she felt claws dragged through her hair.
"Thank you for coming with me" Kagome said quietly as she laid her head on his chest
Sesshomaru hummed as he stroked her hair, he placed a chaste kiss against her head.
"As I said sweets, I have your back"
She smiled softly, and said "I really appreciate that, you've been a life- saver"
"I am more than happy to help" he said quietly
She nodded and gently stroked his chest "I've never felt this safe with anyone" she admitted
Sesshomaru held her tightly, and said "You are always safe with me"
She bit her lip, and said "That was kinda hot by the way"
He arched an eyebrow as she pulled away from him, a deep blush adoring her face as she looked up at him.
"Punching your ex?" he chuckled
Sesshomaru looked over at her, a small smirk tugging at his lips as he slowly rose from his position and placed a hand beside her head. He moved his body to tower over hers, and looked at her heatedly.
"Mhm so you think I'm hot?" Sesshomaru asked
Kagome blushed, and dragged her nails along his biceps slowly "I think you're sexy"she said breathlessly
He growled quietly and leaned down, his face inches from hers
"I will always fight for you and Shippou" he said quietly
She bit her lips, as her heart constricted; she leaned up and captured his lips heatedly. She threw her arm around his neck and kissed him passionately, she widened her legs allowing his space to lay between them as they kissed each other feverishly. Sesshomaru pulled away and lifted his tank top revealing his broad, muscular and heavily tattooed chest; Kagome bit her lip as her eyes dragged down his chest, rippling pectorals caught her eyes; intricately woven patterns sat on his chest, the black ink contrasted perfectly against his pale skin. She reached up to touch the pattern gently, before he leaned down and claimed her lips tongue gently licked her bottom lip prompting her to open her mouth; their tongues danced against each other and caressed the inside of their mouths. Sesshomaru moaned as he grinded against her body, enjoying the friction. He grounded his pelvis into her, and pulled away before he peppered kisses along her jaw and then her neck earning a moan from the dainty woman beneath him. Kagome gripped his hair, and enjoyed the weight of his on top of her, Sesshomaru continued his assault and kissed her neck as he slowly descended lower into the caravan of her breast, she hummed as he kissed the plush soft skin. He swiped his tongue along the exposed skin;he looked up at her waiting for permission.
She bit her lip and simply nodded, as he gently pushed up her shit revealing her bare breast; he groaned and descended on the pert voluminous breasts. His tongue danced along her skin teasingly avoiding her nipple; his other hand played with her other breath. He looked up at her through his eyelashes and gently took her nipple into his mouth earning a gasp.
He flicked his tongue against the tender appendage, enjoying the sound she was making.
His ears twitched as he heard a small knock on the door, Kagome sat up quick as Sesshomaru leaned back. He looked over at the door, as she frantically attempted to fix her shirt and cover her breasts.
"Yeah" she said as she twisted her hair into a messy bun
"Mama, can I come in?"
"Of course baby"
Sesshomaru watched as the small fox demon appeared with his plushy toy, his tired eyes dropping.
"Can I sleep with Mama?"
Kagome bit her lip, and nodded, prompting Sesshomaru to gently remove himself from the bed. Shippou walked over to the bed, and grabbed Sesshomaru's hand. They looked down at the small kit, as Shippou said "Can 'tomaru sleep with us too mama?"
Sesshomaru smiled softly, and lifted the small kit into his arm. He ruffled the boys ginger hair, and said "I'll stay, if it's okay with your mom"
"It's completely fine with me," she said happily.
Kagome moved towards the top of the bed, and waited as Shippou and Sesshomaru crawled onto the bed. Kagome smiled at the scene, as she pulled the covers back allowing for the to crawl underneath.
"Mama why is your face so red?"
Sesshomaru laughed loudly, as his head fell back; Kagome reached for her pillow and threw it at the demon. She rolled her eyes, and said "Aren't you sleepy?", as Sesshomaru continued laughing.
Toga stood in front of his son, his fingers clasped around the bridge of his nose as he tried to understand his son's logic. After the rather odd situation at the office, the family had opted to go back to the manor and were currently in his home office. His wife sat beside their son, as she tried to console Inuyasha; he struggled to keep his temper in check, silently fed up with his wifes coddling.
"Inuyasha, that doesn't explain why you have constantly and continued to leave Shippo in the lurch. You were supposed to see him last weekend, no? "Toga said gruffly
Inuyasha huffed, and said "Pops, I told you Kikyou had a family event and I couldn't blow it off. They already don't really like me. They've got issues with demons" Inuyasha rested his hand on his neck, as he sheepishly explained himself
"Why are you dating a woman who doesn't like demons, wait a moment! Why is she working at my company, if she has a fucking problem with demons"
"Toga" Izayoi scowled as she scolded him
Toga rolled his eyes, and said "If she is prejudice than she doesn't belong at Takahashi Corp, and if she's prejudice she doesn't belong in this family"
"Pops I love-"
"Shut up, you have no idea what love is, you spoiled brat! I want you to listen to me carefully, if you continue to see this woman and if you continue to ignore your fatherly duties, not only will you be out of my house but I will disinherit you!" Toga bellowed, as his voice shot through the room quacking the pictures on the wall.
Izayoi sat quietly, as both her and her son looked at him with a look of bewilderment.
"Do you understand me?" Toga asked, jolting Inuyasha. Inuyasha's ears laid flat atop his skull, as he simply nodded.
"Now this man that hit you, did you get his name?"
Inuyasha nodded, and said shamefully "Yeah Uncle Kirinmaru asked him"
"Well what is it?" Toga asked, as he walked over to the small bar on the other side of his office; he opened the crystal bottle and poured the amber liquid into a clear glass.
"Sesshomaru Towa, some big ass dog demon! Dude looked like he was on 'roids"
Izayoi shook her head, and said "Maybe Kirinmaru is doing drugs again"
Toga cocked his head, as the sound of the name rang through his ears. He stood still as he tried to process what his son had just said.
"Towa? Sesshomaru Towa" He repeated
Inuyasha nodded, and said "Yeah he's apparently with Kagome! Uncle Kirinmaru rushed him out of the building" Inuyasha shrugged, as the entire situation made no sense.
Toga looked over at his son, and said quietly "Kirinmaru knew him?"
Inuyasha shrugged, and said "Nah I don't think so, but he looked like he recognized the name! What kind of fucking werido names their kid Sesshomaru"
Toga's breath shuddered as he gripped his glass tightly, shattering the crystal.
"Dearest" Izayoi said as she shot up, and walked over to her husband.
His golden eyes glossed over, as he struggled to remain upright; he recoiled from her touch and whispered "Out"
"Pops"
"OUT!" he yelled, shocking the two of them, Inuyasha frowned and reached for his mother as he pulled her away from the volatile demon. Toga braced himself against his desk, as the name echoed through his mind.
"Sesshomaru" he whispered as tears prickled in his eyes. He fell to his knees, and held his fist to his lips. His breath shuddered as he continued to speak the name of his first born son; a name he hadn't said or heard in decades.
Okay so some shit has gone down, and regardless of Kirinmaur's best efforts Toga knows that Sesshomaru was at his office.
