Chapter 2: Who am I?

In an empty room darkness surrounded it till a light booms on shining on Harvey Dent tied on an electric chair.

He stirs with the light blinding him.

Next thing Harvey hears a voice on the speakers.

*Welcome Mr. Dent* A voice on the speakers.

Harvey wakes up and sees himself restrained to the chair in a room of abandoned surrounds and explosives with timing 30 minutes.

The District Attorney soon saw a TV with a man in a green and purple mask smiling at him with glee and Harvey shouts.

"Who the hell are you?!" Harvey called.

*I'm just a fan of yours. But you can call me...The Riddler.* The man, who was wearing a green and purple mask, called himself the Riddler, said.

"I've heard of you. You're that mystery puzzle we've been tracking for a month now." Harvey said.

*I'm honored. Really. I'm even more honored you've been helping look for me.* Riddler said.

"What'd you want from me?" Harvey asked.

*I brought you here...to solve the greatest riddle of all...the MOTHER of all Riddles in Gotham: Who is...the Batman?* Riddler asked.

"How would I know? The man's like a ghost." Harvey said.

*Exactly but like any ghost on Scooby-Doo he's a man in a mask but I...will solve the riddle but not by unmasking him...but with a riddle...I see without seeing to me dark is clear as daylight: What am I?* Riddler asked.

"Insane?" Harvey asked.

A buzzing sound set off.

*Eeehhh! Wrong but the judges will give you one last chance. But choose your answer carefully Harvey. You only have 20 minutes left.* Riddler said.

"Go to hell you loony!" Harvey yelled.

The buzz went off again.

*Nope! Wrong again! The answer wasn't in the form of the question but thank you for playing Mr. Dent.* Riddler said.

Just later when Gotham's finest arrived after they solved the riddle that reveals his location.

They burst in, grabbing Harvey just seconds before the timer hit zero and BOOM.

They barely made it out but the left side of Harvey's face was caught on fire by the poor D.A. screamed in agony with his face on fire...and a coin...falling out of his pocket landing on.

Scratched mark on the doubled heads.

The fire on Harvey's face was put out; he groaned in frustration and pain as Batman arrived.

At the Riddler's actual hideout he monitored the progress where he left Harvey he pulled off his hat smirking at Static on his screens.

"Harvey. Harvey Dent. Who's blown, burned and two faced literally?" Riddler asked.

Riddler laughed like a child at a carnival.

He then sits up from his chair walking up to his board of police reports marked areas for bombing and articles of Batman over the last four years.

"You're good. I'll give you that. But I'll find out who you are." Riddler said.

Back at the abandoned area Harvey's face was bandaged up and put in an ambulance while Batman scanned the are for clues but he found Harvey's coin.

He gripped it feeling guilty he didn't save his friend in time.

He placed it in his belt and walked back to Gordon.

"Poor Harvey. How can anyone nab him without anyone noticing? This could put the city in a panic without Harvey's support in the system." Gordon said.

"We'll find the man responsible for this Jim." Batman said.

"I hope so. First runs Carl Grissom's then Cobblepot pulls Max Shrek's strings then this Riddler maniac shows up and blows the DA's face to hell? What's next?" Gordon asked.

"Gotham will always have threats. As they will always have protectors." Batman said.

"And do you have a hell of a job of both!" Bullock called.

Bullock confronts the Dark Knight in disgust.

"Maybe Dent wouldn't be heading for the hospital with a literal scar face if you had just kept out of it!" Bullock called.

Batman stared dead at Bullock with emotionless eyes.

But Gordon pulls him away from him.

"That's enough out of you Harvey!" Gordon called.

Bullock pulls his arm out of Gordon's hold on him.

"Wake up and smell the coffee Commissioner. Zorro here is not one of trusting professionals on their line of work in-" Bullock said.

Gordon and Bullock looked over and to their surprise Batman was gone.

"He does that." Gordon said.

Gotham General on that very morning.

Poor Harvey was under surgery which could only nuchrilized the fatal bleeding but the scarring was likely permanently and bandaged up asleep.

A female doctor walks in checking his heart monitor.

Only to hear the door behind her.

The Doctor turns her head to her surprise, it's billionaire playboy: Bruce Wayne.

"Mr. Wayne?" Female doctor asked.

"I'm sorry, Doctor. The DA is a good friend of mine." Bruce said.

"Nonsense for apology. Come in." Female doctor said.

Bruce closes the door behind him and the Doctor introduces herself.

"I'm Dr. Chase Meridian. Multiple Psychology and Surgerent." Female doctor, who was a doctor, called himself Dr. Chase Meridian, said.

"I heard of you. I read your work." Bruce said.

"I'm flattered. Not every girl meets a billionaire in our shift." Chase said.

"Feeling is mutual, Doctor. So...how is he?" Bruce asked.

"He'll live. But the burns on his face...are pretty surver. I never worked on anything like it before." Chase said.

"All of Gotham is depending on him. Harvey was always a crusader...I just hope he still will be." Bruce said.

"We'll do all we can, Mr. Wayne." Chase said.

"Call me Bruce." Bruce said.

"Only if you call me Chase." Chase said.

Chase seems to have a growing attraction to Bruce but is unaware of both of them...

...Harvey's burnt eye mildly opens breathing silently.
